  • I started playing DBD a month after Legion dropped. I ABSOLUTELY hated him. I never DC’ed and he was frustrating as hell to go against as a new player. I truly believe he’s the reason why it took me longer to understand the game’s mechanics better. I kept trying to heal every single chance I got, and ofc Legion players ran Thano & Sloppy Day one- so you know how that goes. Plus he wasn’t scary or intimidating. The only scary thing about him was that moment you found out he was the killer and you were going to be frustrated for the next 15-20mins. I imagine a lot of players still feel that way- especially today’s new players who have one HELL of a learning curve to get acquainted with. He’s no fun at all.

Yeah, there are safe(ish) pallets, and then there absurd pallets where I will immediately drop chase rather than waste my time. That shouldn't be a thing.

Yea like the ones that cut the killer off in the middle of a hallway and they can’t go around, (Lery’s) should be gone. Don’t get me wrong- I appreciate them when I’m playing survivor (lol), but at the end of the day I know that’s busted and not fair.

  • Nah that’s frustration after dealing with a lot of unfun matches, beyond his control. I know how he feels. We’ve all been there at some point. Let him vent.

  • @xfireturtlex everyone is experiencing this. It’s the anniversary event bringing out new players, casuals, & returning players who have not kept up with current events in the community. A lot of them don’t understand how to make the flans work for everyone effectively, nor there is no better time than now to care less about escaping, and invest more into being a well rounded teammate, doing everything. Some stay stuck on gens, others are stuck on goofing off, a lot throw tantrums & DC like babies, and the rest are just clueless altogether.

‘Don’t let it stress you out. Just do the best you can, play the best you can- and enjoy the rewards/BP the challenges and the event gives. You won’t be able to carry these ‘outsiders,’ half the time. That’s for sure.

  • Unsafe pallets need to go, if safe pallets have to go. God pallets shouldn’t be a thing, though.

When I play Pinhead with a gen regression build. Survivors get annoyed and dc.

This. I main survivor, and this is the killer I see who gets the most DC’s. ESPECIALLY when he has gen regression AND Plaything. It’s too much for some people smh. Very frustrating for me as a solo because not only do I have to endure the triathlon of DBD objectives, I have to do it short handed when someone disconnects early.

‘Is that the add-on that takes less increases lacerations with less knives? That one SUCKS. He’s already not fun to play against.

Seems legit. From what I’ve observed as a solo player, she’s number 2 for most DC’s in low-mid MMR (behind Do your chores Pinhead). Her Infectious Fright/Knock-Out/Starstruck/Barbecue Slug build absolutely guarantees a DC every. Single. Fricken. Time. Unbelievable…

  • I wouldn’t mind it so much if the game didn’t spam it. I too would like to see it get reworked. It’s one of my least favorite maps.

‘Ultimately, I want all map sliders to be even at all times. I don’t like having some map sliders having a higher pick rate than others. That may cut down on the map offerings too. Personally, I only do a map offering after getting locations I don’t want, like The Swamp- every 2 out of 6 matches. Sometimes back to back. That’s a bit much- especially when I have long gaming sessions. Look how many maps we have now- I want to see more variety.

But mostly just pinky finger. Idk what it is. Maybe it's the fact of getting insta downed by a clown wearing an elephant suit, who knows. But I usually get 1-2 DCs per match with pinky finger

Strange, but I get it. Pinky finger is not fun to play against. Clowns who use it ALWAYS seem to know what they’re doing. Very few wasted bottles with those guys.

I had the most disconnects using Leatherface and face-camping but way less than you would think. I would say when I was face-camping with Leatherface, I had 1 DC out of every 5 to 10 games. (I was testing the hypothesis that you are rewarded for face-camping with Leatherface, which you are).

That’s sad that that’s the case.

Play more Killer dude. You have tunnel vision from playing only Survivor.

Play Nurse yourself to these higher ranks and then come back here to talk.

Jeezus Christ this community is so gawd damn toxic. Y’all even go after those who are the fence. Save your negativity for those who are 100% sure they want nerf nursed. There’s plenty of them in here. Leave me the hell alone.

No! I play as a Survivor.

I really want to know what's going on in other people's heads so they never open the door and I'm always dying of it.

I am so confused bro- why are you dying if a gate is 99%? Why would you want it to regress and drop down to 75% after they 99ed it?

  • @fulltonon said:

You can't talk about "majority" because you have no real statistical data backing up it, and on top of that how majority "feel" is not exactly relevant when it comes to balancing.

Like, most skillful survivors will not feel helpless against nurse.

Sigh. Let’s just agree to disagree. I take comfort in knowing how both sides feel. Like I said in my original post , up until earlier this week I was an advocate for Nurse to be left alone. Now I’m not so sure, and I’m starting to see why others feel that way. Have a good one.

  • ”I die every time just because the others do a 99%” Huh? I’m confused. Are you the killer or the survivor cause it sounds like you’re a killer main hoping for exit gates to regress after being 99 so no one can escape as easily…

‘If you are the killer, what do you mean by “I die every time??”

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005896#Comment_3005896

I mean, even against trapper survivors can think like "we had absolutely no chance he is FASTER and I CAN NOT do anything to defeat him! I don't think there is ANY way to control the match!!!"

So yes but no, that's nothing special on nurse, it happens on literally every PvP games no matter what.

Respectfully disagree with you there. We are talking about the majority of the player base. Not one, two, or a few scenarios. This is exactly why players are calling for a nerf against Nurse and NOT trapper. The player base does not feel helpless against him. You don’t see nerf trapper threads on here. 🤣 She is the deemed the inescapable (exaggeration) oppressor.

‘I’m just calling it how I see it. I get their frustration. Whenever I go against a god like nurse, I always think 0f these forums and say to myself- “they may be on to something/they may be right.” No other killer in the game makes me feel helpless. No matter how dominate or skilled the player killer is. I always felt like I could have done something better or made better decisions. With Nurse, it feels like she knows your next move before you do. And that’s some scary ######### when you are going off the cuff trying to be unpredictable.

    No idea.

All bloodpoint bonuses are additive, not multiplicative.

    Party Streamers +100%

    Bloodhunt +100%

    Flan +106%

It really doesn't matter when you use them, providing your base score is on average pretty similar, you're getting the same amount of BP.

The risk comes from putting all your eggs in one basket. You could all play all your flans (as a swf say 1 each) during a bloodhunt for +524% but you might score 10k base that game and so only walk away with 63k (53k bonus). Or you could stagger them using one per game over 4 games, score an average of 20k and get a total of 185k (105k bonus). Same number of flans used, but double the payoff because you averaged it over multiple games instead of going all in on a bad one.

The difference is what you can buy with your BP, and during this event that's more Flans, which is what makes the gamble of using one every game worthwhile.

Basically, you've stated people asking for nerfs because of their own skill issue.

Mmmm not quite, but sorta. A highly skilled killer with trapper won’t dominate and steam roll like he would if he had Nurse. Technically he could in some ways, but at least with Trapper the survivors could see clear as day it’s a skill level thing and they were simply outclassed and outplayed, as opposed to Nurse- who leaves you feeling like you had absolutely NO CONTROL, WHATSOEVER.

  • @Little_Kitten said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005866#Comment_3005866

Simply because the players who play the nurse train relentlessly, instead of asking for the surviving bad guys to be nerfed.

What you are describing is simply nurse playing their characters seriously.

To the survivors to do the same.

And ... yes, it's a little more complicated to win against a nurse than it is to win against Caleb in Lery ... the Survivors are going to have to figure that out at some point ...

But that’s just the thing- you’ll never get casual players/the average player to compete on that level. And they’re the majority in every videogame. I’m not saying it’s right or even fair to those who put in the time, but unfortunately the highly skilled will always be the minority. And game developers usually cater to the masses when it comes to an outpour for a change.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3005866#Comment_3005866

"Not very good players calling nerfs for matching against good killer with good skill", yeah no wonder that happens, but then there is no reason to hear that.

Sorry can you rephrase- I don’t understand.

  • I had a Meyers once message me while I hid in a locker begging me to help him get the achievement. I COMPLETELY forgot this was a hard ass achievement to get and only knew about it because I read a similar thread on here with someone also struggling to get it. I came out and let him kill. He was so grateful. Like someone else on here said, it was his FIFTEENTH try for the day. I cringe for when it’s my turn to go for it. Y’all have some horror stories here lol.

  • I use to agree with your sentiment for years, but in 2022 it’s no longer fun to vs. a nurse in her current state. More and more players have mastered her, and are very proficient with her. So much in fact, I agree with the argument that the average player can not do anything against her. Hell, I’m not even convinced a lot of advance players stand a chance. They probably can put up a good fight if they’re in a team, but if they’re solo they’ll most likely fall victim to her at some point of the match. It’s like delaying the inevitable. Just a couple of days ago I typed in someone’s thread that she’s fine and to leave her alone. It’s now been 48 hours later, and idk no any more. I’m leaning in favor of her getting nerfed.

‘Too many Nurse players know how to limit your options for misdirection, so that when they blink, they can literally cover all your escape routes with the second blink and guarantee a hit. It’s TRULY amazing. And I would be one of those crying “Hax!,” had I not seen some of these Nurse players call out where the survivor was going next on live stream. I can literally feel my eyes open wide like “HOW THE HELL DID HE KNOW THE SURVIOR WAS GOING TO DO THAT??” The same survivor could look back, not look back, zig zag, run straight, stand still around corners, break line of sight, hide crouched down, hide in lockers, stand still, tea bag, give up-it didn’t matter. A hit every single f’n time. I;m seeing this for myself and I STILL can’t believe how skilled these nurse players are. Pair that up with matchmaking sending these players to low-mid MMR with disgusting builds (Starstruck Infectious Fright Nurse) and a tryhard mentality, then it’s no wonder the player base is calling for a nerf.

  • I’m confused- then why do more people submit party streamers, envelopes, and cakes during those times? People even make threads like this motivating players to do so. There was thread just a few weeks ago saying the same thing.

Because I enjoy being able to not sweat.

Even if I win, I don't have fun because of how stressed I was during the match.

This. Exactly this. I don’t expect to win every game, but I do expect to have SOME fun every game. Even with the mentality of being able to take losses, knowing the opposition is completing their objectives quicker than you gets stressful fast. It’s one thing to lose, it’s another thing to get stomped. And vs. good players will stomp you if you’re not careful- hence the stress. So even if you win, it really was a lose lose situation after that first gen popped.

In late 2016, the Bloodweb system was greatly revamped to reduce the grind of leveling. Individual Bloodwebs were generated smaller, and nodes were now priced based on their rarity as opposed to the ring they were placed in the Bloodweb. Inner nodes cost 3k BP, middle nodes cost 5k BP and outer nodes cost 8k BP. This was regardless of the rarity or quality of the node.

For every piece of Prestige a player had achieved prior to November 24th, 2016, they would earn the respective Legacy piece. Every character available at the time with the exception of Michael Myers & Laurie Strode were eligible for Legacy.

Since that date, Legacy has been completely exclusive and has never been available for grabs at all, and the devs have gone on record saying it never will.

Here's my Legacy 3 Jake. It's just a reskin of the default outfit with glowing embers burned into it.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PW7REEHIXXYF/image.png

    Ahhh interesting. Thanks.

  • When I play killer, I can generally tell when I’m going up against a SWF or some solo’s who look problematic. Now I won’t get it right 100% of the time, but for a lot of my lobbies I judged well. I assume others can as well. Now based on that, whenever I smell trouble I use stronger builds, add ones , and offerings. When I think I’m vs. a chill team, I dial it down. Sometimes way down.

‘So why is it when I’m playing solo survivor, killers who SHOULD be facing the top 1%, still feel the need to bring the SWEATIEST of builds, with their best add-ons, for FOUR SOLOS?? And I know they know, especially when I’m first to load in and the other 3 don’t come in right behind each other. Cmon now. Some of these killers literally could have beat us perkless, but insist on tryharding every single match. You can just tell. Straight Overkill. I’m talking Pinhead with Eng. Fang and every F’n annoying killer perk there is (Plaything, Pain Resonance, PGTW, & Pentimento or Ruin), all on top of his stupid box that needs attention for what feels like every 60 seconds. Jeezus Christ I swear I’d pay to watch a 4 man bully Squad go against some of these tryhard killers.

‘But to add to OP’s point, yea this sucks when we can’t take advantage of the event when we barely get to play that match, getting stomped at 4/5 gens. 😐

  • What the hell…that’s new to me.

  • Can someone explain to us year 3 and newer players how the legacy thing worked, what it entailed, and how did some circumvent the system to reap the rewards?

  • What MMR tier do you think you’re in? Do you think the killers are also on your level, skilled, AND still doing this, or do you think it’s matchmaking screwing you over with bad killers who don’t know how to be efficient with the cakes?

Thank goodness I haven’t ran into any of them yet, but I did during the 2x blood hunt a week or two ago. Those struck me as bad killers not knowing better or not caring for BP and/or 4K’s.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3003341#Comment_3003341

Use your Flans to get 120k bp per game. That gets you 3-4 bloodwebs for about 3-4 more Flans as survivor (9-12 for killer)

    Rinse and repeat.

You multiply your Flans if you use them now, giving you more to use later. If you don't, you gain Flans linearly.

Hmmmm so is the 120k based off of 1 flan or 5?

Except you're not able to invest you BP in even more cakes if you wait for the off chance of a bloodhunt.

    What do you mean?

  • I truly believe it depends on your MMR. I think the players in low MMR get more use out of it, and maybe some out of the top 1%. Not much tunneling going on in mid MMR it seems.

  • Idk…I feel like they’re best used when there is a 2x blood hunt event. People tend to use more party streamers and envelopes during that time, and those of us who have hoarded anniversary cakes also kick in.

  • For me it’s the info more than anything- and by that, I mean the information and feelings shared by the players. It’s good to know what the latest trends/new meta approaching, as well as ways to counter certain perks and builds. I’m a better player for it. I think we all can agree to that.

As far as who would be Meta and who would be the worse survivor, I don’t know. But in my opinion Dwight has the best default load out in the game. Prove Thyself to do gens quicker, bond to get a general idea of what teammates are hurt and where the killer may be, and leader so that your teammates can heal you/open exit gates/do hex totems quicker. He’s the only survivor who I play with all 3 default perks. I added Botany Knowledge so I can heal my team quicker. As a result, that build is one my highest escape rate builds. It’s VERY efficient.

  • Yea this very annoying, especially if you want to commit and pre-vault. Another one is the gen in the shack close to the window. I must have given killers a lot of laughs by tapping that gen mid-chase. 😑

  • I don’t even understand why gaming profiles need to be private. A lot of games would expose players for cheating if there were no private option.
