This wouldn't punish toxic rank 1 survivors and killers
-
Because I dont have to do what you want? What kind of ######### argument is this
"Why don't you just not win?" I've never heard anything more entitled.
-
You act as if any DBD game play: both killer and survivor side; is at all engaging and challenging
The skill ceiling for both has been lowered so much theres no difference between rank 10 and 1 anymore.

Well, I would like to be able to play more than two killers, if it's not too much to ask. As for chasing the unhooked survivor, that's just more time I'm wasting.
Unhooks are too easy relative to the amount of points they award. Either the points need to be decreased significantly, or their difficulty needs to be increased significantly.
They could reduce the altruism points gained from unhooks and increase the amount of points survivors get in the survival category

People who want to camp will camp regardless. Now, personally, I camp when I see a bunch of survivors roaming about or if I've lost too many generators chasing someone who has every safety net in the universe. In the latter case, I'd feel more inclined to leave the hook if I knew my efforts couldn't be reverted in two seconds flat.
Good thing there are killers easily able to close gaps and there are a variety of perks that assist in tracking survivors after the fact
-
@Orion said:
I think that's more an issue with unhooks being too easy and risk-free relative to the amount of points you get. In theory, unhooks should be hard to pull off, but they're so easy you can do it right in the killer's face with little repercussion.
If they were hard, more and more people would camp. why even bother going for someone else when you can guarantee a kill?
-
Shut your goddamn mouth #########
-
Half the complaints here are justified and the other half are angry killers who cant stop loops or catch decent survivors.

Why reward for using a stupid perk. Ain't no killer gonna leave a no mither on the floor if they can help it because they know they can just get back up. Only peeps who should be using it are the ones who want that adept David.
So awesome having a no mither in the lobby when killer has thana.
It's a hard mode perk. Might as well give it some semblance of use
-
Yes let's nerf one of the few perks that rewards you for doing well
-
Its heavily killer dominated but honestly that's what I like about it. As someone who plays a lot of survivor I can more thoroughly understand killer gripes as well as try to explain to killers the struggles survivors face as well

If you really think those counter looping you havn't played enough killer.
Unless the survivor is just dumb you will be eating that loop. It requires the survivor messing up to not get looped.
They're designed to. They could use some buffs sure but it's not my fault you cant counter a loop.
When I'm getting looped i usually win by mind-gaming the survivor. If its wasting too much time I move on because the survivor looping me isnt doing anything either
-
Yes
I like getting chased because its interactive and not brain dead

@Poweas You can't agree because it'd mean you were exploiting this whole time or what?
Not a good argument. Exploiting is abusing a game mechanic in an unfair way. Looping is using the game mechanics to avoid getting hurt...which is what a survivor is supposed to do.
If youre that bad at dealing with loops invest in bamboozle, maybe unrelenting or brutal.
-
@Orion said:
Because not healing will still be better. The issue now is that there's no drawback to being injured if you're good enough at exploiting, I mean looping.
I wouldn't say looping is exploiting if its more or less intended to be honest but I see what you mean. There isnt really incentive to heal especially against perks such as sloppy, nurse's, coulrophobia, a killer like legion...healing needs to be better on survivors
-
This game isnt necessarily about getting all the kills or surviving every time.
Your goal should be to do well and get a lot of hooks, downs, etc.
Your goal as a survivor shouldn't be to survive it should be to do as much as you can. Still try to survive but dont expect to.
-
It was REVERTED because healing time is already too long.
If they increased its potency and had it affect everything but heal speed it would be great
-
Isnt this a bug? Doesn't sound like it's intended
Also if you have corrupt purge why arent you attacking from a distance...like the ability is designed

Well... Given that survivors have been abusing DS for about 2 years and a half... I dont see a problem if killers start to abuse it's little stun time for the same amount of time...
Keep in mind this perk can be used by all 4 survivors more than ever now. If you see you are getting tunneled then try to reach a window or pallet before going down, if you go down you have DS and a loop nearby, problem solved.
An eye for an eye mentality is a great way to reduce toxicity and keep this game balanced. excellent work

14 Perks? 🤨
I meant 16 but I'm apparently a dumbass and cant multiply

Holding m1 a few seconds longer wont kill anyone
I literally just try to run the killer around some games because its so boring to do nothing but hold m1 all game
Killer is so much more fun to play. At least theres variety.

To give some purpose towards the bloodweb. While they have been changing some perks, it would be OP if Killers could get NowD tier 3 as their first perk off the bat, or stuff like Overcharge, Self Care, Botany Knowledge, Bond, Sloppy+Bloodhound, etc. That’s just my take on it though. :)
They could always just have more perks appear on the bloodweb to lower the grind.
2 per bloodweb at level 20-29
3 at level 30-39
4 at level 40+
-
Survivor:
* Self-Care
* Lithe
* Prove Thyself
* Flex Slot for whatever perk
Killer (I main Doctor and Legion):
Doctor;
* Distressing
* Coulrophobia
* Unnerving presence
* BBQ and Chilli
Legion;
* BBQ
* Sloppy Butcher
* Flex Slot
* Flex Slot

I don't even understand what they should do and couldn't figured out by using them. Leatherface has basically only 2 addons: tuning guide and that yellow quicker charging up addon lol
They're supposed to make you move faster when using the chainsaw; I only bought leatherface for his addons and I don't play him that much but I'm assuming he/she means the addons don't work

Break the totems and NOED is gone. DS is getting changed in the next patch. Mori animations kick ass.
I agree with the NOED and DS but you can't argue Mori's aren't broken.
-
lightborn, franklin's
all your flashlight problems are solved
-
Oh 3 of them Dc'd as well once they realized the build I had. Last one I gave the hatch to.
-
Use quick and quiet then sprint into/out of a locker.
The killer wont be able to hear you or see you unless they have iron maiden
-
I'm a survivor mainly but I also play killer and understand how you feel. this is pretty interesting but honestly it doesnt make sense.
It would be better if only 1 toolbox provided a repair speed bonus instead of multiple. So people trying to genrush would be slowed down, only having 1 toolbox getting value.
-
At least enough for all 3 teachables would be nice
-
Maybe we should buff Autodidact so it isnt rng
-
It hasn't affected me as much as I thought it would. Its the furthest 3 and if I spawn closer than those 3 generators then I'm golden
RIP vigos shroud though
-
I dont think you realize how game breaking this would be
-
Its main strength if comboing with perks like Unnverving and Coulrophobia. Used on it's own it's completely useless. Otherwise it's a pure combo perk

I was worried it would turn the endgame into a free-escape fest, since once the gates were powered it would be almost impossible to kill anyone if they saved their DS for the last hook.
Anyone faced this scenario yet?
That happened more consistently with old DS I havent gotten into one of these scenarios yet.

The penalty being what? The timer or the obsession?
The former. You'll likely get camped/tunneled and you can help the killer gain more stacks on their obsession perk if the original obsession dies or DCs
-
@Wolf74 said:
Do you remember when everyone said "if BT bothers you, don't camp!"?
That basically became a meme, because it doesn't work in reality. Survivor mains kept claiming it to defend their point, but there are tons of situations that would trigger BT without the fault of the killer.
Same is now for the upcoming DS. "If it bothers you, don't tunnel!"
That won't work either, because both -BT and DS- are just covering up survivor making bad plays/unsafe unhooks.
Survivor get stupid trainingwheels for playing stupid and the killer gets punished for it.
That logic is just plain bad gamedesign.
And it is really pathetic how survivor mains keep defending it this way. No reason, no real arguments, just memes, social stigmatisation and peer pressure.
Which is why it's great DS also gives you training wheels for not managing your obsession perks properly

Flashlights. Blinding killer is way too easy, and takes no brain. The reward is way too high, especially for saves.
Oh and No One Escapes Death. Carries way too many unskilled killers to rank 1.
"Flashlights are braindead"
*lightborn exists*
*killer mains who get blind start sweating*
"Uhhhh yeah! Nerf them! Hahahaha"
-
Like the lithe change. Chases are so inconsistent.
The DS change is also good. No longer is it guaranteed for survivors but it's still powerful and stops tunneling. Gonna enjoy comboing it with DH and Deliverance on killers who tunnel me over and over

Oh good grief, you just need to GIT GUD.
Now if the devs only cared about survivors fun then there'd have been ZERO as in ZERO none nada zilch nerfs to survivors.
There'd have been ZERO nada zip zero zilch buffs to killers, no changes to maps to make them more killer friendly.
Infinites would never have been removed.
Sabo would've never been touched.
Cow Tree would never have been nerfed.
Pallets would never have been reduced.
The exhaustion changes would never have been done.
The healing changes would never have come.
Windows would never have been nerfed.
Shrimp Boat would never have been moved.
Crow Bombs would never have been implemented.
Minimum hooks and minimum distances between hooks would never have happened.
Moon offerings would still be in the game.
Backwater swamp would still have lots of tall grass.
Jungle gyms would still be more plentiful.
Thompson house would never have gotten a hook upstairs.
Macmillan Estates Groaning Warehouse would still be an infinite looping spot.
Maps would never have been made brighter to make it easier on killers.
The following killer reworks would never have happened - Trapper, Hag, Wraith, and soon to be Freddy.
That's just a small portion of the changes but according to you those changes obviously never happened because the devs only care about the survivors fun.
I don't think I can even begin to say this better.
Just get good. If you tunnel you screw yourself over anyway
-
As a survivor I agree with DCs but not Suicides.

At first I thought it was a great fix, but now I'm starting to see some problems, like it'll make the end game almost a guaranteed escape for Survivors (I think new DS+BT during the end game will too much).
The timer is too long and it will activate no matter where the Killer is. It's not as hard as you think to down the unhooked Survivor in less than 60 seconds. You're basically being punished for doing your job, even if you're all the way across the map. The timer should be reduced to 20/30/40 seconds and you should have to be within a certain distance of the hook (probably somewhere between 16 and 32 meters) for the perk to activate.
The perk can also make the end game much easier for Survivors. They can easily hook rush without punishment and deny the Killer of a kill. DS should either cause exhaustion to kill any DH/BL/Lithe/SB combos during the end game or make it harder to use after the gates are powered or the Hatch has opened.
This is the same case for survivors who saved it for the end game on the pre-rework version...this time is isnt available no matter what
-
@Orion said:
With Up The Ante and Slippery Meat, you have a 64.9% chance to self-unhook. Up The Ante also affects item quality in chests and both affect attempts to escape from traps. Luck probably affects even more things we're not aware of.
It only affects those 3 things. I remember the devs stating that when they were asked about luck in an interview
-
No. No on all accounts.
-
So...make loops harder to deal with because you have to respect pallets?
-
You'll never escape it. A big problem is that people still get angry over T-Bagging; not to say T-Bagging isn't bad but its blown out of proportion by very salty people that dont realize that its just a game.
T-bagging has been around for a long ass time. It's not going anywhere unfortunately

If I get my Remember Me stacks and kill the obsession to avoid him being unaffected by said perk and another obsession pops up… I am "delusional"?
If I avoid hitting or killing the obsession most of the game, just to get and keep my stacks from STBFL or PWYF and all of a sudden that obsession switches… I am "delusional"?
Maybe I even choose to pair those perks (STBFL/PWYF) with Rancor, to get a tactical advantage of not hooking him and just Mori him at the end... and still I am "delusional"?
(Feel free to take my questions rethorical if you don't have a decent response.)
You have an extremely pessimistic view and it's clear some survivors gave you a bad time once and now to you; they're overpowered or something.
I don't see how having the ability to gain more stacks onto your obsession perk in the event they die or DC is bad at all. It's like being able to make up for a lack of strategizing on your part...if you think DS is that bad just don't tunnel and reduce its affects using certain perks if you're that fed up with it.
-
If you're playing solo then I definitely recommend Self-Care as one of your perks. An exhaustion perk like Adrenaline, Lithe, Dead-Hard, Balanced landing, or Sprint burst are great for escaping the killer.
Other than those use whatever else you want. Lightweight helps keep the killer off your tail if they're bad at tracking and I'd even recommend decisive strike to help you get out of situations where you're being tunneled (killers on here will hate me for saying that). It's going to be a bit better for anti-tunneling when it gets reworked anyway.

@Wolf74 said:
It makes most obsession perks useless.
Dying Light, Remember me, STBFL, PWYF... all will get trashed.
Only one that will have trouble is dying light. You're delusional if you think the ability to get an obsession back means those will become useless.
