I disagree. Now I do think that good killers prioritize chasing. And some killers do go out of their way to make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at playing the game, I do not think that is the norm or what should be expected. If a player is playing verses other players of similar skill then to win means taking every advantage. I personally do not play killers that lean into camping. Examples include Bubba, Trapper, Hag or Twins. But if I'm playing survivors who as good as me or better and I think that I can get an edge in the match through either camping or tunneling than I will. And I'm often punished for it by eating a DS. I also refuse to grab off hook. I'll hit the survivor with a basic hit and let the match continue. Grabbing off of hook is a stupid and boring mechanic that encourages face camping.
Camping and Tunneling isn't a balanced playstyle in most cases, because the person can simply cheese it and stand there to gain the pressure you didn't have. Just by standing there.
So on principle when I think about the killers who mind-game, who actually chase and are smart about it instead of opting to this cheap "trick", yes those other players are bad.
They did nothing special and only added to the already bad reputation the playstyle already has.

Good thing that you don't speak for us. So good for you.
Imagine actually comparing T-Bagging to Camping, as if both progress the game. 😂

On bad killer players, yes.

You didn't see that it's a 4 people squad they kept trying to bully me with lockers but I've already seen videos and knew how to counter it ... These are not survivors using head on to escape a chase ect their main goal is to constantly stun you check YouTube video and how they bully killers.
Again.
Bringing perks isn't "bullying". They are bringing perks that are part of the game.
Just because they choose to play in a inefficient way does not make it bullying. How else do you suggest that they use these perks? On chance that you will walk by the locker? I don't get it.
Everybody knows (as they have already pointed it out to you) that Head On isn't even a strong perk. Meaning that if they are going for stuns, they were most likely going for a challenge.
-
So bringing perks is “bullying” now?
-
I’m not a believer of deleting perks, so no.

DBD Dating App when? 🤣
Imagine someone being like "I camped you because no one else can have you" .... "I tunneled you because I would go anywhere as long as you're there"... "I purposely missed skill checks just so I could spend more time with you in the match"
I can see it.

It is jump in a locker if you don't want to get instantly cheesed out of the game. Are you suggesting that people just hide from him every time he gets near? I thought breaking los as often as possible would suffice, because if he's on you he's on you. You can't stop his stalking. You can only mitigate it. And he'd be dumb to just let you go, because even if he's only getting half-second glimpses on you, it's worth it because of the stalking add-on. I don't like to vs Michael unless my team is good, because he's not all that unless he uses crutch add-ons like Tombstone Piece. No, he absolutely does not earn his power, because he just stares at you.
Of course not. If he engages or you see him approach from afar you have to have a plan. This is where your map/LoS knowledge will shine.
I am just emphasizing on the fact that he is not meant to be looped like a Trapper. You have to be aware on how long it is taking for him to T3. If it’s too long then you know he probably has it.
You can say he doesn’t earn his power, yet we have killers who you literally cannot do anything against their one-shots that do not even need to “stare”. Stalking isn’t as easy if the survivor understands how he works. Just because you are getting potato survivors doesn’t make it the killer’s problem.
Like are you complaining about Tombstone piece or Michael in general? Cuz you seem to be saying two different things.
-
The counterplay for Tombstone isn’t just “jump in a locker” … it’s also stalling his T3 as much as possible.
I firmly believe people need to play Myers because the reason I believe many get fed on is because they underestimate his power (I.E. He iS jUST AN M1 kiLlEr) So they don’t play ‘safe’ and frolic around the map as if they are going to loop with no problem.
I’ve been a Myers main since I can remember and I see a lot of survivors not even hiding well because they have no problem feeding him. That is until the tables turn.
People generally like to vs Michael and I too agree with this. Because he is far from brain dead like some of the other killers. He actually feels like he earns his expose power.

Thats the camping I was talking about?
Ok I misread.
Then let me answer. Because that’s how you lose gens, and ultimately how you lose the match.
Sticking around just because you think there is someone there is a bad strategy and you only fall into the Camping that is complained about which is you camp without reason. That is where it is unbalanced and it is the version they are going to fix.

I mean why would I go leave the hook knowing that the moment i leave they're gonna get ripped off and healed in 8 seconds while 2 gens pop with a 3rd at 80.
That’s not the Camping I am talking about.
I am talking about the people who refuse to leave the hook even when there is no one even remotely close.
-
You know what's even rarer than that? A twins player that doesn't camp with Victor.
-
I am still playing killer and still enjoying it. 🤷♀️
So when I read titles with "everyone" I am always like, are you sure it's "everyone" or you just gather that because of the negativity that surrounds these forums?
Because so far this is the only place I have actually heard anyone say that.

this has to be a joke since the lastest surv perks are getting stronger and stronger.
flaslight saves, blooms that heal and remove marks plus ds,dh and iron will?
NOT EVEN THAT toolboxes for getting hooks and gen rushing AND NOT EVNE THAT discord to make swf even stronger by comming the killer location so that if you chase one by the time you finish that chase you lose 3 gens and 1 guy unhooks while the other 2 finish's the last 2 gens and its ggs.
noed, ruin and info perks are so garbage since looping and the perks and items/add ons make up the kliller perks so hard.
yes killer can be annoying to verse and yes killer has ultra rare add ons that is strong but even then the game is so heavly surv sided.
i feel like people act like they know everything when they have like 1 game on killer -_-
It’s not a joke.
Did you know that flashlight blinds used to be instant?
Did you know that DS used to work on first down? Not on first hook?
Did you know that survivor set ups used to be a lot stronger?
Did you know that toolboxes were nerfed in both charges and BNP add on?
So yes, killer was horrible back then. This is the easiest you get.
I have 6.2k hours into this game, half of which are playing killer. So no, I haven’t only played one match, but many.

Right, ok, obviously no reasoning with you, have a nice day
Because your reasoning is…you camp because 2-3 gens pop? Makes logical sense. Good for you. Not everyone needs to do it, hence why I said it is a sign of a bad killer, for over committing to the same survivor. (I.E. skill)
It also still doesn’t address how broken of a playstyle it is, and that you don’t have to wait for gens to pop to do it.
-

It absolutely is gen rush already, you just have 4 survivors that amplify the stuffing out of gens, 2 minutes is nothing when you got 3 other people on different gens
Wrong. You obviously do not know what gen rushing means.

Yep and then we get survivors complaining about how killer camp and tunnel too much. I’m fine keeping CoH the way it is, but I am going to camp and tunnel the **** out of survivors if it’s used in a match. More fun for everyone!
You'd camp and tunnel even if CoH wasn't a thing.
The Camping and Tunneling problem was here long before CoH was introduced to the game.
-
So you are a killer main (by the sounds of it) and you don't understand how 2-3 gens can pop within an unacceptable amount of time over-committing to one survivor? tsk. tsk.
I now not only question your skill as survivor but as killer too.

idk ive seen plenty of killers get an average of 2 kills per match. Especially as leatherface or blight.
All I am saying is that the excuse of "chases not incentivizing" enough doesn't warrant a playstyle remaining unbalanced.

Just like how survivors have gen rushing
Except that to "gen rush" You need items/perks. At base it isn't "gen rush"
Killers have this playstyle available (basekit) every match. It isn't a perk or an item they have to slot. Nice try tho.
-
@Brimp said:
When it's actually incentivized to go for chases instead of camping hooks.
You’ll still do it even if it was incentivized.
They could give a million BP to anyone who doesn’t camp and killers would still do it.
The game isn’t suppose to hand you a kill, it is usually why the killers who don’t face camp tend to get more kills consistently than a 1k per match.
-
Camping should become a perk. Oh wait you have that at the start of the match.
-
They don't have to because they don't need to.

Solo Queue generally is frustrating because you are only in control of 1/4 of the match.
You are basically playing the lottery when it comes to the actions ( or lack there of) of those “teammates”.
This is why I will always find killer the least frustrating role. I can make my own mistakes and/or rely on my own skill.
-
This is why you should always read the nature of the post.
There is a big difference between “All I see is Dead Hard please nerf” (My mind immediately checks out and goes into you just don’t like it) VS “Dead Hard is a strong perk, but it could use this adjustment and here is why..” (makes me more inclined to reading it.
I do agree that to some degree even the “legit” posts will likely become entitled sounding and I think that is partly because this community is very opinionated and so even those who agree on basis of “I don’t like it” will make that voice louder. Louder doesn’t mean Properly discussed. It’s why devs more than likely don’t even take some of the posts or posters on here serious.
-
The problem is there is probably no way to fix her, but her power indeed does negate every mechanic/resource in the game.
Think of it this way, fundamentally Pallets mean nothing against a Nurse, and pallets are THE weapon ( for a lack of better term) for survivors. Survivors in this game have no weapons because the game is about engaging in a chase and thus have pallets to create a barrier between them and their opposer.

They very well could have been. One will never know because they were console and I am on PC.
They were insterested in playing except for when in the killer’s TR, as one of them actually would touched a gen for about 2 seconds until they heard Trickster’s lullaby.

The problem with is that if you're against a SWF you will get 1 kill since all gens will pop but if its soloQ like half the matches people just roam around not doign gens... i've had several games where i do 2 full gens and my teammates none... and if that happens sure camping is viable since it takes one person 160 seconds to do 2 gens + the time it takes to run from one gen to another like they cant even do 1 gen together which is 47.5 seconds
Honestly I feel like the whole Solo vs SWF topic has been greatly over exaggerated.
Communication isn’t what is standing in between the decision for someone to repair a gen or not. Sometimes it is matchmaking inserted someone with low MMR into a high MMR match. Sometimes they are just inexperienced. Bottom line is, you can have random teammates that will perform great if not better than a lot of SWF teams.
To reel it back to the Camping topic, I understand sometimes it may feel like the easiest thing to do. My problem again is when it happens at the start of the match, simply because.

That's interesting.
I've actually started playing a lot more Myers (particularly Vanity+Rabbit) as I find the stealth just so much more consistent, and the aura reading lets me do nutty mindgames and interceptions.
I honestly kinda wish he had something similar to Sadako, in terms of survivors not being able to immediately spot him from a mile away. At the very least in T1.
Could be reduced in T2, and not available in T3. It would have to be something different since he isn’t really like a ghost. I just don’t know what type of VFX would be fitting for him.
I do like his aura reading add ons tho.

This is not a personal attack but you may want to check your ego, you have no idea if they are mad or not, that is completely assumed.
Its just self reafirming to think they are mad in the absence of any real feedback and using that as rationale for hating on camping is some biased misinformed thinking.
Why is nodding at someone a fun way to hook camp but hitting you is someone who's mad? This is an arbitrary ruleset cooked up to reafirm your point with no real basis.
A player may not go into a game with a camp build and decide partway through to switch up from chasing to hook defence but that in no way means they are mad at you. The same gameplay of hook trading and gaming around the hook is still possible in the latter scenario its only the set up is happenstance.
Why is one a game breaking affront to your fun and the other perfectly fine, when they are basically the same gameplay wise post hook?
From the way you describe it the only difference is, you assume the latter is born of someone being mad at you for being good at the game, but that's all in your head I'm afraid.
You even say its fine to secure a kill you understand but then go on to create this imagined scenario where they are mad at you.
The view that looping is "playing normally" means you are starting from a biased expectation of how the game should be played to begin with.
Hook defence can be just as fun as chasing, my point was you can even build for it but even so just because someone camps doesn't make the game a write off.
If you get frustrated by camping then run anit-camping/tunnel perks, work on teamwork in your SWF or switch up playstyle at game start to avoid being found first all these things are ways to play around someone potentially camping you or targeting you after being unhooked.
I don’t think anyone is questioning this idea that some players find this playstyle “fun”, but there is a segment of players within this community that use this so called strategy because of how easy and available it has become.
It used to be “just rush gens, and they only get one kill”. Now with perks like No Way Out and Deadlock this is an outdated belief, as it allows killers to get more kills than that. The game is about time management and just because you rush gens doesn’t guarantee what it used to when you were being camped. Mind you a lot depends on RNG and the killer doing this.
My opinion has always been that Camping has always been a flawed mechanic that doesn’t involve a lot of skill. For one, it’s boring for 3/4 of the survivors as they 99% of the match find themselves holding M1. The 1/4 practically didn’t play the game, only spawned after (more than likely) a long queue waiting in a lobby. This already creates a toxic atmosphere and further adds to the bad reputation the game already has.
I don’t think this is in BHVR’s best interest. Especially when you look at it from a new player perspective.
Just to be clear I am talking about the type of Camping that happens at 5 gens. Because I am even willing at accept Camping that happens later on, at least at that point that person got some points.
Just my 2 cents.
-
I’m with you OP.
It is a step in the right direction in terms of the “creepy” factor.
I love her map pressure abilities and how you can totally mess with someone during a chase who thought she was still behind when in fact you teleported.
I am a Michael main but she is easily starting to become a top favorite of mine. She has what I wish Michael had more of.

DH can invalidate any mind game or outplay the killer does, it's also a reset button for any mistake during a chase. It's used because it's broken not because it's fun.
I disagree. People use DH because the most fun you will have in this game boils down to chases. Hence why a lot of people like to bring it.
There is a misconception about Dead Hard and it is that people get greedy by accident. No they do it because they know and understand how the perk works. Same reason why people with SB overcommit to a gen in the middle of nothing, same reason why people with Lithe feel safe next to a window, etc etc.
Disliking the way something works doesn't make it broken. The reason you see it often is because it is the only perk that works in close chases while looping. It is weak in other areas that SB and Lithe are not.

There is no need for any kind excuse. Camping is a tactic.
Survivors can do the gens and leave.
Survivors can go for an hook swap.
...
If you don't like camping don't do it but don't believe for one second you can tell anyone what they can or cannot do.
Stop twisting my words. I don’t care if you camp, but it is still unhealthy for the game.
You only see it as a tactic because (currently) you are allowed to use it as such, without downsides.
I play both sides and have for over 6.2k hours and I do sometimes camp. But I am not doing it to the extent that some others are, that which falls under you are having a bad game so you swap to the easiest thing to do.
Furthermore, it is not healthy because new players do not have any resources whether understanding/knowledge OR access to perks to half way deal with it.
Not in a meta where perks such as No Way Out and Deadlock exist. Because the tutorial told them to focus on gens but the killer brought another crutch along with a busted “tactic”.
