Not saying you are being untruthful, but this video does not prove you had a 24 loss streak. You made it sound like you got whooped ever since SBMM came out, but you obviously pipped some as you were Ash II. Yes I know you can pip without escaping, but again the video proves nothing. Did you not record the two matches - loss 22 & 23 before this match as well? If so.. why didn't you show those two losses and then your escape? I am always skeptical of selective "proof."
If it is true - that sucks, but it is also not the normal for the vast majority of players. I played 27 solo survivor matches the other day (each survivor one match) - The only "meta" perk I used was Borrowed Time which helps my teammates and not me. Of those 27 I escaped 16 times and was given the hatch twice. Prior to SBMM I was a rank 1 survivor for 4+ years. I don't think I am a great survivor by any stretch of the imagination - average sure MAYBE slightly above average. The worst I have SEEN was a streamer friend who played around 15 matches and only escaped twice.
I don't have all the videos because I wasn't expecting this to be a thing. I posted the video when I finally escaped as an average match.
All my matches since Tuesday were similar to the one posted, in that regard the matchmaking was consistent

Its obvious a low mmr-match. So the problem is simply that the system doesnt care that you cant carry 3 teammates. So you do better than the others, but that doesnt matter, bc you will die and lower your MMR. Then you get worse teammates and repeat. Its hard to get out of this cycle. That means if you want better teammates, you need to increase your mmr with swf.
The pig was really bad, but she needed to hook almost everyone twice before killing and make some horrible mistakes, so you could escape. And you played decent in chase and did 3 gens. Thats how bad your teammates were and if you would have died, the chance is high that the game would have thought, you are on the same skill level as your team.
I see, but I don't know what to do.
Most of my friends quit dbd and my sister can only play a couple of matches per day and I end up losing and losing and losing. It is really frustrating

This thread is like "hey mmr isn't working. I'm not getting even matches and I'm on the worst losing streak of my life."
Then people respond, "well of course you're losing. Have you considered gitting gud, sweating, and running meta builds to secure a win?"
That's exactly how the old ranking system worked where rank was based on time played and if you hated losing well it sucks to suck it's your fault for losing. Next time try to constantly improve instead of stagnating. BTW this isn't a competitive game.
If MMR was working he shouldn't have to improve his skill to have fun games. The games should be curated to his skill level. You can't just make a system where you're obligated to get insanely good to have any fun. That just leads to the current status quo where everyone runs meta builds by the diction of a community that also complains about the meta and sweat. Just so they can have fun in a casual game.
Exactly my point, it took me 24 losses to finally win a match, by PURE LUCK! If the pig had slugged I would have lost again

21? Is that all? Sorry, but that's well within the bounds of DbD's RNG, and the MMR system is still new and doesn't have much accurate data (they apparently reset it after the last year to ensure reasonable accuracy).
It ended at 24, this has never happened to me before in 3 years of DBD.
The system was reset before the latest test, where I played at least 30 games. Since then I played at least 40 more, it should be enough to determine where I stand in the matchmaking.
I used to get balanced matches within 5 games in Warzone, so it is surely possible to have data in 70ish games

Finally I managed to escape! and I had to try very hard with a meta build and the best medkit. Every single match since Tuesday has been like this.
It's not funny to play a game like this.
Streak ended after 24 defeats

Weird, as a soloQ survivor, i don't have the same experience as you.
How does the survivors you are matched with perform ? I mean, are they good loopers ? When you are in chase, do they do gens ? Usually, how long can you hold a killer in chase ?
The teams are quite inconsistent, we often have the equivalents of a new player (or they seem like they are new, I can't check the hours on ps4), 2 average people (me and another, or me and my sister) and sometimes another average player or a very good looper.
My chase time is hard to quantify when playing, I will record a few videos later. I think it is an average experienced dbd player time. It is not Monto/Ayrun level, but it isn't noob either.
I think I am in the pool of average decent dbd player who has decent game sense but doesn't excel at the game.
That said, I am not really trying super hard when I play, I am playing like I have always played so if I ended up in high mmr, the system is broken as that's certainly not my place.
it is very frustrating

Someone was complaining that they had 10 noeds in a row. You are complaining that you get always tunneled. Try to change your build then if you notice that you are facing the same type of killer all the time. Put on DS and perks that help you be stealthy and get lost after an unhook.
ok that is something I can do and if I play sweat-lord style I guess I can break the streak, I will try later and record it.
My point is different, I have been playing with head on, with mostly chill matches over the course of the last 7-8 months.
Sometimes it was a strong killer and I lost, sometimes it was a draw, sometimes I escaped and this seems to me the way a casual game should work.
Getting strong killers, with strong builds and lots of tunnelling for 21 matches in a row seems a bit too much.
I just can't understand why I am forced to play these kinds of matches one after the other for no reason.
I am not a full time streamer, I play 7-8 matches of dbd per day and I am a very chill player who doesn't mind losing and taking one for the team.
Still when you get swept for 21 matches (3 days in a row) I start to feel it is a bit too much, and that's the reason of this post. I don't find interesting to be kicked in the butt continously.
Anyway I will record some videos later and let's see

I was in a SWF duo in 5 matches out of 21.

But by stomped, do you mean all 4 survivors die ? Or just you that had been tunneled ?
Stomped as in: me not being able to escape, EVER.
Some matches had all the other survivors dying, some matches had them escaping, but we mostly lost quite badly as a team.
My point though is that even if some of my team members are escaping, I am not having fun if I die 21 TIMES IN A ROW.
It is a bit too much and it defies the whole purpose of MMR where I should be matched with similar opponents, not with Otzdarva like players

Then it's not loosing.
If 3 survivors escape, it's a win.
2 survivors is a draw.
So the game doesn't consider that you have lost. You died, but 3 other survivors escaped, the team won, so did you.
But these kind of matches has NEVER HAPPENED to me in 3 years of DBD.
Losing yes, getting stomped every match no.
Something has clearly changed otherwise I wouldn't be on the forum reporting on my situation, if my dbd future with MMR is to be stomped and never escape... well I don't think I want to play this game anymore

I feel you on this one. I have never been a fan of sbmm or mmr because of how stagnant it makes games and they become boring. I play 99% survivor, only ever play the killer when I fancy a change and haven't played killer since mmr was introduced so can't comment on the new killer experience.
As a survivor however I feel like the mmr needs another huge over haul. Not necessarily for killer VS survivor matchmaking, more so for survivor team matchmaking. I'm not an amazing player by any stretch of the imagination, I make some good plays every now and again but I play consistently well that I was regularly purple and red rank under the old system. My main complaint about mmr is the survivors I'm being matched with god awful and not a good match at all. I understand people have bad games so I'm not complaining about them having bad scores or whatever but level of survivors I'm being put with is sometimes embarrassing. It's almost like the mmr system is matching my ELO with survivors much lower than mine to attain a target ELO for the team rather than an average. I expect survivors I'm paired with at a decent level to be able to do a sodding generator once in a while and not farm me off the hook every 5 minutes or run head first at the killer because of a pure lack of observational awareness.
If the ELO ratings are being added together to form a team (which is the only way I can figure having such a variety or survivors ability in one game) then it need to be averaged in some way to make it fairer for all involved.
it seems to be the case with me as well, getting 1 bad team mate with a good one (my level) and sometimes an amazing one vs a good/great killer.
The experience is not pleasant :(

See that's your problem. Death comes really easy in this game. And sometimes just is out of your control.
Some survivors are suppose to die in a match. If you die and have 15-20k bloodpoints and another survivor gets out the door with 15k max you can't really say you played badly and they played well now can you?
My suggestion would be to redefine losing. What you are doing now is like playing a fighting game and saying everytime you go below 50% health is a loss.
I can redefine it as much as I want but I have never had a run where I simply cannot escape, I understand losing 2-3 matches and then escaping but being kicked in the butt for 21 matches is a bit too much

May I ask what region or servers you are on? Because ever since sbmm is on, my killer games became impossibly difficult while survivor is so easy with good teammates, that I just run adepts on survivors and did half of them in 2 days.
And I am in no way better killer than survivor, I play them probably just like you, 70% surv and 30% killer. I have 1000 hours and I considered killer much more harder to play than survivor, which is kinda surprising to me that sbmm made it even more extreme on both sides now. I am on EU server
I am in the UK, very close to the EU London server with an average ping of 32 ms

Only advice I can give you is git gud and no this isn't a joke. Killer tunnel the weak link in the group, I rarely get tunneled despite getting killers who camps and tunnels.
I am playing exactly like I used to and I have never lost so much.
The purpose of MMR is to match similar skills, and with a 21 matches lose streak this is clearly not the case

Define losing
Not escaping as a survivor by finishing the gens and opening the doors.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/210875/twins-slugging
Look, I know that's annoying to be slugged, but that is a problem caused by a heavily survivor meta.
Just think about the time the killer has. It is 4 survivors, a gen gets done in 80 seconds base, no tools no perks.
The Killer has walk to a spawn point, locate survivors, hit them once (expecting they can actually loop), deal with the exaustion perk, hit them twice (again, expecting they can actually loop), pick up animation (ignoring time checking for saves), taking them to a hook, hook them. Without camping or tunneling they have to do this 12 times to kill all 4 survivors. Now without taking in account BT,DS,Soul Guard,Adrenaline.
Even the hatch is survivor sided, they can do no gens, and the killer HAS to slug the third survivor so the forth won't get a Free win.
Killers just don't have enough time to play nice anymore, they have to be efficient.
Not even talking about a Key match, that one kill is basically doing a gen for the survivor team.
Even truetalent, that thinks that slugging is boring, is saying that behavior is pushing the meta to become this, 1 hooking and 2 hooking survivors.
If the Killers had more time to spent they could give survivors more chances. Nerfing Gen speed and making the maps smaller would be a good start.
Thanks for your input. My post has nothing to do with the balance of the game though, I am strictly speaking of the fun perspective.
I think we can all agree that being on the ground unable to play the game is boring, and I think we can all agree also with the fact that killers need to have a good time too.
The Twins, as they are, do not offer a fun and interactive playstyle.
That said, I have always thought that a long chase where the killer and the survivor are both interacting and having fun should be rewarded by the entity, like blocking gens for like 30 seconds to enjoy the 1 vs 1 aspect.
More chases, longer matches and more fun and BP for both sides
-
@Volfawott said:
The problem with the twins is that the optimal way to play them is camping and slugging.
When you try playing them normally they just can't compete but if you play them optimally aka camping and slugging it makes it incredibly unfun to go against.
You need to find a way to strengthen them enough so that they could be played normally whilst also reducing the aspects that allow them to camp and tunnel effectively that way the most optimal way to play them will change
True indeed!

@Leachy_Jr said:
Against bad squads they are a slugging machine, yes. But against bad squads, Oni, Nurse, Spirit, hell even Demo are slugging machines.
Good people will not get mass injured and they will not group together. That's what makes them good, they know how to counter slugging without perks. With perks WGLF and unbreakable are pretty meta these days, so I really don't see it as a bad thing.
While I do agree that Victor could do with a slight nerf alongside buffing their kit, if you get 4 man slugged, it is entirely your fault and your teams fault for grouping up, getting all injured and not being able to stall victor for enough time to move him away from gens and friends.
[video evidence 1.39 seconds] Please explain to me what could be done against these kinds of scummy tactics in solo queue please. That's how I play dbd.
It is clear that the killer needs a nerf to the scummy tactics and an overall buff to compensate to make it fun and fair

your choice if you stop playing for a while. I vowed not to buy the characters or the dlc till the main bugs are fixed. I play a few matches a day and I have lots of fun, even if i'm slugged i have fun. I play killer too! funny when i play killer I don't slug unless someone is right there so i go after them because i'm not giving someone a free pass. Slugging is pressure, when two are slugged the other survivors have to go there and that reduces further the gens being worked on. and the legion fixes (the moon walking issue, the two blades issue, etc) were fixes to bring the character into line with how it was supposed to be, you are not making a good comparison what so ever. Slugging is as much a part of the game as looping is part of the game.
Sorry, I haven't explained the comparison with Legion. When Legion could down people with frenzy, it was boring as a survivor because there wasn't much of an interaction. If legion wanted you down, you went down.
And this comes from a Legion main lol
As for the rest, thank you for your advice. Appreciated!

well first of all old legion was not intended uses of his power/add ons and they fixed that. ONI is a slugging killer straight up, so why not another? recover and move away so they can't hook you. learn to use your unbreakable when it matters not just the first time you're down. There are other perks that can help you get up too just need to find them and break away from your 2K hour meta builds. I've got over 2.5K hours and I don't run the meta unless I'm messing around.
What would I do? if i'm that tired of it i'd go play another game and try again the next day.
A fix like the old Legion is what I am asking, and on a broader spectrum a fix to the unfun things in the game like genrushing/slugging, ruin/UD, DS/UB etc etc
Tbh I don't see why slugging is even a thing in 2020, but well that's me.
Anyway, do you think I should just log off DBD for a while? I am a bit hesitant as I have just bought the new chapter and wanted to level up the chars but at the same time I am not enjoying the situation at all
-
@Freki said:
just what must be done? slugging is not against the game rules. not saying it's the best, but there are counters to slugging and you are probably one that doesn't want to change up their build to counter this. that's not the dev's problem but yours.
It isn't against the rules, you are right. Even old Legion wasn't but that doesn't make it healthy for the game.
What am I supposed to do when I am slugged? One time I can bring unbreakable but the other times?
I have close to 2000 hours in this game, and I can't win chases all the time and ending up slugged is NOT an interesting feature of DBD.
I ended up slugged in my last 6/7 matches against the twins, what would you do? Turn dbd off until they go out of fashion?
-
@rha said:
I am actually even more worried about the other point, the 4 man slugging potential. This has also been brought up a lot by Scorpionz, it is already horribly painful to watch, and probably even more painful and frustrating to be in such a game as survivor.
I see this playstyle a lot more than the remote face camp. I've just tuned in to a Twitch stream where the streamer was playing Twins, and it took about 90 seconds from when I started watching to witness yet another 4 man slug at 4 gens with Twins. I will from now on switch away from any stream where someone is playing Twins or against them, it's not fun at all.
As a 4 man SWF group you can probably prevent that to some extent by playing smart so that the killer doesn't get too much of an opportunity. If I'm playing solo and have no control over my teammates, there's nothing I can do if my three teammates don't play smart.
I really hope they fix these issues soon, I like the concept of the twins and would like to play them, I am mostly playing for fun so I don't need a super strong killer, but I don't want one I have to play "intentionally dumb" just because if I'd play "smart", I'd hate myself for it, and the other side would have a super boring game.
It is incredibly unfun to play against them and being slugged is probably the most annoying thing that can happen in DBD, you are effectively pointless and at the mercy of the killer and your team.
They need to fix this
-
@burt0r said:
The thing is it was never fixed and just got better from the borked killer matchmaking stuff.
Also crossplay inflated all rank pools thus making it easier for the game to match green with green and so on. But I think more and more people are opting out, for various reasons like different optimization/controls, which decreases the individual player pools and brings us back to the sloppy matchmaking we had before .
I think you are on the right path here, I have a pretty large group of friends on ps4 and we slowly all opted out of cross play, as it isn't fair to play on an inferior machine.
I can tell you that the ps4 only matches are back being pretty fast, around 60-120 seconds as a survivor and 30 seconds for killers.
Overall I am happy with having opted out and will never go back unless everything is made equal
-
@Lunairtic said:
I play console, PS4 to be exact. I tried crossplay for a full week doing nothing but solo Q. The result? I considered dropping the game entirely. I'm not going to blame one platform or the other but, I would say 88% of my games were complete garbage. From the teammates, to the killer, to the chases. Everything was awful.
Now if rank is on your mind then let me clarify by saying yes I'm red rank, consistently rank 2 & 3 but go up and down within it.
Every single game I was tunneled again and again. Other players would deliberately bring the killer to interrupt gens just because they didnt want to die. There was no teamwork. It was everyone for themself. Farming out the ***, people just letting others die on there first hook. Full health players running to the injured person to kill them instead.
The bottom line is with my experience, crossplay is the worst thing to have happened to me. But as soon as I turned it off I had such a better experience. 1000x better, and the ques were still the same speed if crossplay was turned on. I wasn't constantly tunneled, I actually got people in my rank as well. It was miracle. It's only been one day since I switched off Crossplay and I will never, ever turn it back on.
Tldr; If you are a console player I recommend you turn off Crossplay. It was the best decision I ever made.
I agree, I took a break from DBD after trying crossplay for a few games.
I will wait to be back until more people on console will opt out so I can go back to the same queue times I was having before.
Right now you have no option, you either play cross play and find matches fast or you turn it off and spend 3-5 minutes looking for a match.
It has been a terrible experience, I don't understand why allowing superior machines vs inferior ones.
It is not harder to play crossplay, my winning rate at red ranks is roughly the same, it is simply wrong.
I just hope console players will turn it off so that the devs will do console only crossplay, PC is unfair
-
Restart the game, it is usually just a visual bug

@joshuashep22 said:
whenever I use deliverance or see someone else use it the killer goes straight back to tunnel even though they know they have it, why?
I think nobody gave you the most important answer, so I shall spell that for you:
Time is the most important coin for a killer, the more time in match, the higher the chances to win as survivors are running out of perks and resources and lives.
Hooking a survivor increases map pressure, because one person is on the hook, at least one has to save and that leave with only two survivors potentially on gens. With the possibility of you chasing one of them to increase the pressure even more.
Deliverance breaks this balance, as the survivor team is not wasting one of the team member to go for the save, so there could be, potentially, 3 survivors on gens.
This is a huge blow to the killer's time management, so it makes sense to go back and down the survivor with deliverance to force someone to go for the save.
UNFORTUNATELY, if the survivor also has unbreakable, he/she can still save time for the team mates.
This is exceptionally strong in a 4 man team, as they will all know they can simply slam on gens as the person on the hook/ground is independent.
This shouldn't be a thing at all, AT the same time slugging more than one survivor should not be a thing either.

@Zayn said:
As a Ghostface main at rank 1, you really shouldn't be complaining. You can literally bring Spine Chill and Sprint Burst which are two of his biggest counters and are also perks that can generally help against every killer. Not only that but you can counter him by just looking around being alert at all times and loop him normally since he's still an M1 killer. If you are stalked and aren't confident in your ability to loop, throw pallets down early and make distance.
Imagine complaining about Ghostface when Spirit, Nurse, Oni, Deathslinger ETC are in the game lol.
I don't think GF himself is the issue, the problem lies in all games feeling the same and not having variety in the game.
It is somewhat similar to the old spirit problem at rank 1, I don't find fun to continuously verse the same killer time and time again

Ghastly Gateaus are being fixed in the next hotifx, a new matchmaking system is gradually being tested in some regions, VPNs should become a non-issue with the upcoming server side hit validation, and bug fixes are on the way. As for the new map, while I don't discount your opinion, it is exactly that, an opinion. I've seen a lot of people say that they like that map as well.
Just about everything you've mentioned is being worked on and should be resolved in the near future, some (Gateaus) sooner than others.
Come on Peanits, the new map is highly disliked, there will always be contrarians obviously but it objectively poor for gameplay

The event is 24 hours old, so not 2 days, plus today is a National Holiday in Canada, so I wouldn't expect a fix today.
This seems a very poor explanation I am sorry. How did this bug pass through testing is beyond me... unless testing wasn't done (which I believe is what happened) BUT letting an event go for 24 hours without fixing the main event item (the only one common to killer and survivors) is just poor user experience and poor handling of the situation.

I mean, all reasons behind Undetectable were to kinda touch OoO indirectly, but it's not like it took a huge hit in the end. It's more or less as good as before. It ended up being more of a shadow nerf to other aura-reading perks that were perfectly fine instead, such as Alert, Breakdown, etc.

Konami probably has an ironclad agreement in the license. I think BHVR could make some tweaks, but the map itself is fairly accurate compared to the SH version, so I doubt we will ever see any major changes.
You are probably right and then they should have picked a different location like the city.
Internal maps are already not working properly with the concepts behind the game, this map in particular is so poor gameplaywise to be painful to watch

Has object and stays on the opposite side of the map and when the killer comes down the hallway just w's away. Big surprise scott was right. This map is probably the worst map to come out honestly in a while.
This map needs to disabled and reworked, it is not working. BUT considering they can't even fix the event cakes during THE EVENT, I have zero faith in this team

I’ve seen so many forums talking about how they hate this event. And how it’s terrible.
But can we actually take a minute and appreciate what the devs have done while being at home?
People worked hard for this event to happen and not for you to complain that’s it’s too easy for killers or survivors are more toxic now. It’s an event and a secondary objective.
And I for one actually really like these cosmetics. And the system of getting it is an original idea we haven’t seen before.
It makes the game more fun as people are playing characters with less perks changing up their play style.
Then again if you don’t like it just don’t do it.
Rant over. 😌
Well the results are not very encouraging and considering that the event BP item that has to do ONE THING, is actually bugged, the situation is ridiculous

I think what Aven means is that is why it's even less likely for survivors to get cakes, because they have to share those spots with medkits and flashlights... where as a killer just gets cakes which is boring but beneficial.
I understand that but I think survivors should have guaranteed one cake and one of the event items in each lvl 50+ bloodweb, that would balance things out a bit.
I am ok for killers to get 2 cakes each web, that's fine

Most likely.
Dont forget that there will be more for Survivors - supposed to be an Anniversary Flashlight and Medkit. So the Spot for the Cakes will be shared with 2 other Items.
But it is still unfair, survivors are already making less blood points than killers and they should receive at least 1 cake per blood web.
Last year my Legion ended up with 97 cakes and my Meg only 19 and I played more or less the same amount

For me, it's an instant dissapointment whenever a new map is an indoor one.
They're not only unfun because you simply have no idea where you are most of the time, which takes any planning away from both sides, it's also awfull to chase/be chased in them becasue the tiles are some weird contraptions designed to make me want to never leave the killer's basement. It takes all your usual DBD skill away and makes it all seem so ... Random and chaotic... I genuinely wonder if anyone likes indoor maps gameplay, if you do ... Why ?
Indoor maps are terrible, this game was never designed for those and it doesn't work properly indoors, they should all be deleted

Yikes where do i even begin? Does anyone actually enjoy this new map to play on at all? From matches i've played on it so far i can honestly say it is the worst map in the game yet. I'd rather play against a 4 man SwF on Ormond than ever play on this map again and to be honest i can see it having a very high DC Rate.
The Map for starters is simply too big thats undeniably it's biggest problem. I saying that i'm not keen on big maps in general because it makes pressuring gens a lot more difficult for the 110% Killers. Then it's case of honestly there is way too many rooms to patrol through.
2 Story buildings x 2? Even more yikes. Huntress already has a big negative to this map it being big, how in the hell are you supposed to play Huntress on this map? You can't pull off potential crossmap shots, you can't throw over most things and for the most part by time you charge a shot the survivor is at a corner and she is 110% so you can't even chase with her to go for M1's.
I'm sure i am not the only one who can agree that the new map is undeniably the most badly designed yet in terms of gameplay. It looks nice and graphically pleasing in most places but in terms of actually playing on it i can't imagine a lot of people having a fun experience with it.
Anyone else just insanely disappointed by the outcome gameplay of the map?
I agree, it is the worst map by far, even worse than Hawkins (who thought that was even possible...)
The only solution is to run to the killer and die right away or to play map offerings for the whole week
