  • I agree with OP, please do something about this map.

    Reduce its chances?

Limit it to 1 time per day?

    Retire it until fixed?

    It's unbearable

The new map is basically a big middle finger to killers.

it is a middle finger to anybody!

It represents fully how a map SHOULD NOT BE!

    • Long corridors with nothing around
    • very unsafe areas
    • godly safe areas
    • too much trash around
    • really hard to find access to the upstairs
    • really hard to find gens

I thought that Hawking was the worse that they could do, but, oh boy, this map destroys hawkins in how garbage it is.

It needs to be disabled and reworked before being put back into the game.

And please stop with internal maps, they don't work in dbd

    @Peanits

  • I agree the new map has to go

  • @tactic said:

The developers said it would be a point of discussion, so let’s discuss it.

Personally, I think it’s an okay map but maybe too hard to navigate, especially with how much stuff is placed in each room.

One thing I despise is the two-storey layout That forces you to walk through multiple hallways to reach the generator above you.

it definitely seems harder to reach higher floors than on The Game imo.

It’s manageable as PH, but I’ll dread it as other killers such as Huntress or Doctor...

The new map is the worst map in dbd to my memory, I hope it will be disabled until fixed

I feel like you shouldn't be able to spam the shock and that you should at least be able to use your item and do the essentials while your shocked. I don't mind not being able to vault or drop pallets because that is just part of Docs power but not being able to cleanse a damn totem is pretty stupid. I respect your opinion though and I understand what you mean. Thx for the response ❤️

You are right, the doctor needs to go.

His kit needs to be completely changed, he was changed because he was polarising and now he is worse than he was. He needs a complete rework that will erase once and for all all the things that are annoying

Like I also said, the problem with any "solution" is that it would make skill checks virtually pointless. You could let go of M1 at any point to avoid them.

Well if you leave the gen the skill check should follow you and if you pass it nothing happens.

    It doesn't seem too difficult.

Or if the server detects your character hit box moving away from the gen, lik when you gen tap you could get a 5 seconds delay before you can repair the gen, that would solve people leaving the mouse pressure to avoid skill checks.

The solutions are there, it is a matter of simply finding them. As it stands it is simply unfair to punish the survivor for somehting they have no control of.

    [shrug]

Like I said, I just see it as an additional risk.

    But it's nonsensical nevertheless.

It would be like, as a killer, you go to pick up a survivor and then you change your mind and your screen turns back at the survivor without any control.

These actions should not happen at all

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1325727#Comment_1325727

That's the main reason why Overcharge isn't used, though.

Alright, but it is clearly unfair that this game cannot detect exactly when I let go and not punish me.

There is nothing I can do once I let go

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1325674#Comment_1325674

If you let go immediately then the second won’t trigger, if anything you’ll hear noise but It won’t explode

That's a good tactic, unfortunately sometimes you need to let go as the killer is approaching and the phantom skill check is simply unfair.

@Almo @Peanits @not_Queen folks can any of you do something about this?

It is very unfair that a gen explodes when you have already released M1, there is literally nothing you can do about it.

In F13 when you release the button the skill check stops completely

Here you go. Played and taken by me today in solo queue all red ranks. https://youtu.be/GLUfieBY6EM

You can imagine what all meta perks team and SWF can do to him. And don't say "It was a bad killer". Any killer played well will be difficult ot play against, doctor or not.

Come on man, with all due respect, the doctor did not play well at all.

On top of that you also used the most broken building in the entire game to win the first chase.

At the T wall you should have been hit by a decent doctor, at the next pallet he swung through the pallet misjudging the distance pretty badly.

That was not a competent doctor, he wasn't shocking at the right moments.

The addons he was using were brown, so the shock range was limited and the build was questionable, since using a tracking perk on a tracking killer isn't optimised at all.

You folks played well and deserved the win, still this does NOT satisfy my definition of a competent doctor.

    Good game anyway

  • @Mooshroome64 said:

Calm Spirit makes this not work so it has counter play and is completely fair and balanced 😛

True. Calm spirit is mostly a terrible perk BUT it shouldn't be able to counter a killer power.

I think calm spirit needs a rework tbh, at the end of the day is a wasted perk slot 90% of the time, a bit of a gamble for 1 killer

  • @Mellow7 said:

People actually using monto videos as evidence to prove a point, you do realize that almost all his video's are cherry picked and doesn't always go down like that in his streams. Doc is fine just drop the pallet early and don't try and loop him like a basic Killer.

Please provide evidence of some of your games where you are versing a competent red rank doctor and you are capable of doing so.

It is like a good doctor doesn't know you can pre-throw the pallet and counter it...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322485#Comment_1322485

I can agree with that, though, I personally think strong add-ons (not to the extent of Iri Head by the way) should stay. I don't mind seeing this Doc combo being played as a Survivor mainly because I adore matches where the deck is stacked against me and the only way to win is if my team pulls their weight alongside me. Those games are always fun in my eyes.

If the Killer knows what they are doing, I expect my team to both help me out during the chase and work on their objective at the same time. It can make those seemingly unwinnable games feel like there's more hope at the end of it.

I'm not on the balance team so my opinion definitely isn't going to hold much sway, but I would be more in favour of Doctor basically slowing down Survivor actions more than just outright stopping them in their tracks. It could still have the Doctor put some hits in, but if the Survivor is fast enough they can barely miss a hit from the Doctor.

Then again I used to main Doc, so that wouldn't really be much of a problem to me anyways, most people already drop pallets early especially when facing Docs.

I agree with what you say, I think there should be a conversation regarding how long chases should be and balance adjustments to reach that.

Once it's clear a chase should last 30/45/60 seconds or whatever then gens and new ways to avoid the killer can be implemented.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

This isn't even Lord Herman's full power. The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.

If the player is using an optimal build on a Killer (not just Doctor, ANY Killer) they are good at in a 4v1 game, then they deserve to get the down. Also, using add-ons is toxic now? Ok...

I agree that the killer needs to win chases, I have never said the opposite.

My point is really different and it is all based on the fact that I need to be able to do something as a survivor and when a doctor player is good they can really destroy you regardless of your skill level as a survivor.

That is not ok in my book.

I think all of these issues stem from the fact that the devs don't have a clear idea of how long a chase should be.

If the game is balanced for 30 seconds chases, then gen speed need to be addressed as well and other playstyles need to be implemented in the game as well.

As it stands, pallet looping is being nerfed left and right and that's GOOD! At the same time the survivor gameplay and ways to avoid the killer are not being implemented and that's absurd.

There needs to be something that a survivor can do or the game is simply boring if you feel powerless.

  • @MrCookie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322486#Comment_1322486

It's not the DOCTOR, it's the addon's. Pretty sure if they just increase charge time of High Stimulus Electrode this will be fixed. But doctor is fine and is counterable. I guess this specific combo of addons might be too strong. But people claiming Doctor has no counter just need to play better I guess or even better play doctor on red ranks for a while and see all counters for themselves.

I am politely asking you again, provide evidence of a survivor being able to counter a competent doctor in a loop.

With skills being comparable the doctor can remove your counteplay and that's not ok

  • @TheOhioHutcH said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322461#Comment_1322461

Yeah its not fun play against, but its fun to play as. I like to play doctor when I'm having a bad day or get to many swf groups. A few good doctor games of 4k's when there's nothing they can do about feels good. Then go back to normal killers like before. Maybe its just me

I don't see anything wrong with having good, strong killers in the roster.

I main legion and billy, and when I am sick of being beaten as legion I use billy to get some groove back.

The difference is that when doctor is used correctly there is really not much you can do about it, and that really destroys the fun of a match.

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322471#Comment_1322471

Personally I don't think so, it's a 1v4, if you're evenly skilled, it's only a matter of time before the Killer catches onto you.

I agree with that, but you should be able to do SOMETHING rather than being a sitting duck, or a running one.

I think that the game is in a spot where it needs clarity on where we are going.

A survivor being able to 1v1 a killer for a long time is absurd, but at the same time a killer that removes all your defences and your possibility of stalling is also absurd.

As a survivor I need to have some hope that my actions count for something, and a as killer I need the certainty I can end chase quickly BUT without completely annihilating all that a survivor can do.

Pallet looping for ages is really stupid and needs to go, but survivors need some sort of counterplay to gain time for their team

  • @MrCookie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/157877/doctor-is-absurd-video

How do you counter Huntress and Deathslinger who shut down loops? And he played with potato survivors as you saw.

And what is TOXIC here? Good addons?

I don't think I ever said that I am ok with ANY killer being able to completely remove your defences.

Deathslinger at least gives you the chance to pre-throw the pallet, huntress I don't know I am bad in versing huntress so I don't really know the ins and outs.

Toxic is the complete sense of powerlessness that comes from doctor.

The survivors may have been potatoes, so I am sure you have plenty of video evidence in you being able to verse a competent doctor, please share

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1322461#Comment_1322461

If the Doc is competent and they know what to do, then good for them, they deserve that kill. Especially with an optimal build like that.

So if my skill as a survivor matches the killer's skill, there is still nothing I can do about it because the killer is broken.

    Don't you think that's a bit unfair?

I agree that eventually the killer needs to win the chase, but like this you are simply powerless.

  • @TheOhioHutcH said:

Yeah this whole video is what show cases why doctor is so great. (Btw big fan of monto)

The big problem, like Monto pinpoints, is the lack of counterplay. (I am also a big fan of Monto!)

If you keep the optimal path in a loop you get shocked and you can't throw the pallet or vault, if you try to dodge you move away from the optimal path and the killer with 115% speed is on you before you can reach the pallet or the window.

If the doctor is competent this is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation, not fun.

Quick question, does one need to use the flashlight to reach rank 1?

    Cheers!

Nope, you just need to follow the emblem structure :)

And bring borrowed time for the unhooks, it is super important

  • @Wolfven said:

Thanks for all the explanations and advice!

I started to play with these points in mind and the game is really starting to 'click'.

    Good job Wolf :)

  • @Wolfven said:

Wow! Thanks for all the info everyone.

"The essential of dbd is how much distance can you put between you and the killer? if an action increases the distance, without putting you off position, that's a good action."

This quote really makes me realize how I've never thought of it that way, blows my mind. It kinda makes me understand lopping more.

Also how do you guys "learn" how to scan for the next safe area after I have already put my exit plan into motion? Sometimes when I'm at the 1st safe area I panic and shoot off into the open because I could not juggle looking behind and routing at the same time looking for the next safe area and I just gun it blindly out.

This skill you are asking for comes with map awareness. Maps in dbd are structurally randomised but many different elements stay consistent in the different maps.

What often changes is the configuration of the tile, is it going to be a jungle gym or a L T wall?

Is the pallet on the left or on the right? what about the window.

Playing the different tiles in the different maps will give you that confidence that you need.

Now how to avoid being out of position after the first loop?

Essentially you don't abandon the first loop without having a plan on what to do next, if this is by any chance impossible run towards structures because that's where you will find safety and if possible run to a main building. These are commonly the strongest loops in the game.

That said, avoid doing a gen in a death zone, this is an area with nothing around, no pallets, no windows. If you are caught there you are D-E-D, ded :)

Finally remember what I said about the distance, it is sometimes really useful to abandon a tile when the killer is not seeing you to go to the next and gain distance on the killer.

Many tiles prevent the killer from constantly seeing your position and if it takes 3 seconds for the killer to realise you have left the tile, you have now gained 12 meters and distance is THE most important coin for looping (unless you end up in a dead zone).

Watch carefully the master loopers and you will see that they often leave a safe tile if they can get distance without being noticed by the killer

  • @Wolfven said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1309760#Comment_1309760

Thank you for this info , much appreciated.

Number 3 will be the most challenging for me. I am still getting used to looking behind while running, hugging walls as tight as possible and trying to somewhat route to safe areas (I mess this up the most when panicked).

Any tips on how to get better at evading / looping the killer?

So you don't need to actually loop well to go to rank 1, you have 4 emblems, if you do well in 3 out of 4 you will mostly pip as long as your not constantly one shot so your chases are basically zero.

I think the best advice on looping comes from watching strong loopers on youtube, people like JRM, Monto , Ayrun or Noob3 and see how they run specific tiles.

Essentially learn when to throw the pallet, learn when to take a window and when to leave a tile.

The essential of dbd is how much distance can you put between you and the killer? if an action increases the distance, without putting you off position, that's a good action.

Lastly when you go and sit on a gen, your priority is to come up with a plan on where you will go next if the killers shows up. Check for a pallet or a window close to you and plan your escape.

  • Legion as a survivor for Jeff and Jeff as a Legion killer, that would be dope

  • @Wolfven said:

    Hello,

I am currently trying to reach survivor rank 1 just for the steam achievement and was wondering if it is possible if I only have time to play on the weekends before each rank reset?

Is it possible? or will i need to find time to grind out more games during the week?

    Any info appreciated.

    Thank you.

Hello, I can answer this I reach rank 1 every season :)

The answer is yes, BUT you need to play to pip not to win.

How do you consistenly pip as a survivor?

1- You need to do something gen related, repair a bit of a gen, if you can repair a full gen.

2- saves and heals, these are super important for your benevolent emblem, make sure the saves are safe unhooks, so BT helps a lot

3- you need to take the killer on a ride a bit, especially if gens are popping

On average 1.5 gens, 2 safe saves plus under the hook heals and a bit of time in a chase, especially if you can win the chase is enough to pip at red ranks

What really hurts your emblems is being left on the hook, dying on first or second hook and dying quickly.

Unsafe unhooks and leaving other survivors to die on the hook is also very detrimental to your score

So is avoiding the killer all match.

Finally gen rushing and not going for saves and chases makes you black or depip.

To recap, winning is not important if you want to pip, if you follow this strategy you will mostly pip even if you never escape. A typical pipping match is a match where there are plenty of hooks and you save your teammates while doing gens and chases.

If the match is unbalanced for the killer is too weak or too strong, you will likely depip unless you really try to take most saves and do as much as possible gen wise to try and black pip.

    Good luck

There has been lots of books and films that were popular during their time that were soon forgotten. 20 years from now will most people know of Stranger things? Who knows. Silent Hill is still a well known game and it's more than 20 years old. Its had many sequals and even movies made after it. (Even though the films sucked that's beside the point.) Stranger Things just hasn't been around long enough to prove any kind of iconic status. That takes at least a decade.

This is a matter of numbers:

Silent Hill 1 and 2 sold close to 2 million copies, this puts them at the same level of Alien isolation in terms of sales.

This is 1/6 of the sales of Resident evil 1+2, not counting the remakes.

Stranger thing is in the top 3 most successful shows of the market leader streaming platform.

Stranger things Season 3 debuted with a whopping 40 millions households account watching it during the launch weekend.

This is not even a fair comparison, silent hill is a small property by dbd standards and this is not disputable.

It is a fitting chapter, and it seems also fun and well done, but this is not iconic nor a milestone by dbd standard.

The marketing push should have been focused on the scary element rather than the iconic aspect.

  • @Steve0333 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1306619#Comment_1306619

Stranger Things is popular now but it has yet to prove it will stand the test of time. Silent Hill has, at least in the gamer world, stood the test of time. So in that sense it is more iconic than Stranger Things. I didnt know what Stranger Things was when it was announced. As someone who doesn't watch a lot of Nerflix I had no idea. While I'm not super familiar with the Silent Hill lore, I at least know of Silent Hill. Most gamers, even if they hadn't played the games in any depth, have heard of Silent Hill.

Come on Steve, I do respect and share your love for silent hill but comparing it to stranger things?

Stranger things had a success than silent hill never had, it crossed the boundaries and became main stream.

You cannot compare a hugely successful brand, in terms of numbers of sales and views with a decently successful video game series that was literally destroyed 10 to 1 (sales wise) by his competitor resident evil.

It is a good property but, by dbd standards and number wise, it is not by any stretch a great catch.

  • @Steve0333 said:

Are people exaggerating silent hill's "iconic" status. While it is probably the second most known horror video game (resident evil being 1st) there really hasn't been much competition in the video game horror market. Horror games tend to be pretty bad and made by indie developers. The fact that RE and Silent hill are decades old and there still hasn't been a horror game that beats them in popularity speaks to how poor the horror gaming market has been. But the same can be said for movies too.

On the other hand, if you are a gamer you probably know of Silent Hill and people who play Dbd are gamers, so for the intended audience it is iconic.

I would agree with you if dbd wasn't dbd, BUT dbd is the game that has been able to licence giants such as:

    • Halloween
    • A Nightmare on elm street
    • and Stranger things

And these are OBJECTIVELY big properties, Silent Hill is an absolute nothing compared to them.

It doesn't make sense to hype this chapter as iconic and a milestone in a game who already owns properties which are hugely more popular and influential than silent hill.

With their message the devs have failed to deliver because the hype they created could have been satisfied only by a property that could stand toe to toe with the 3 big ones dbd already has.

This property could ONLY be FR13, IT, Alien and maybe Chucky or Pinhead (maybe).

Pyramid head does not qualify, and I have nothing against pyramid head

  • @walrusthemighty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1306490#Comment_1306490

If the game was released in 2001 and you were not exposed to it back in the day, hopefully not for your age reason in this case this conversation is over, then your opinion becomes subjective. Silent hill 2 was very influential and Pyramid Head was at its center.

First of all I have already stated my age, born in 1978 and a gamer since atari 2600. I played silent hill 1 to 3 when they just came out.

Good games, scary games but niche games. A property that sold less than 10 million copies in 21 years of business is not a big property by any stretch of the imagination.

Resident evil 5 on its own sold more copies of the entirety of the silent hill franchise.

These are the facts, you may consider pyramid head iconic to YOU and that's ok, the data of how much exposure this franchise had though do not qualify it for being "iconic" and "a milestone".

    Not in a million years.

Silent hill never crossed into the main stream, and its IP pertaining the horror genre is NOTHING compared to Halloween or Friday the 13th.

These are numbers, and numbers are not arguable.

If the marketing team had hyped the chapter as "the scariest chapter ever" I would have been ok with it, but this chapter is not a big iconic property.

This chapter is a niche property compared to the giants

  • @walrusthemighty said:

There was no teasing, you read to many speculation posts. And yes, Pyramid Head is an iconic horror figure, which is exactly what they said.

If a relatively successful franchise that really never crossed to mainstream is "iconic" and "a milestone" for you, that's ok. Enjoy the chapter

  • @MyNamePett said:

Damn this thread makes me kinda sad. The silent hill video games had a huge influence on horror in both video games and movies.

The world and characters are incredibly deep and interesting.

i guess and I mean no offense in this but I think a lot of the crowd for DBD are very young now. Because silent hill hasn’t had a release in a long time perhaps many don’t know just what pyramid head and silent hill did for us back then. But that feeling when pyramid head stalked me as the air raid sirens blared in silent hill 2 has never been matched and I’m so excited.

Mate I was born in 1978 and I have been a huge video game fans since atari 2600 and silent hill is not that big of a property.

It is quite niche and never went mainstream like resident evil did, and resident evil outsold silent hill 10 to 1 and EVEN resident evil is not at the same level of a Jason come on.

Mattieu started the stream talking about the halloween franchise and if you start like that you need to give me Jason or maybe Pennywise anything below that does NOT stand up to Myers.

Pyramid head does NOT even play in the same league, same thing would apply to Nemesis or the Tyrant which OUTPERFORMED silent hill 10 to.

It is a matter of being clear with your public and not deceive me with a message that makes me excited about something and then under deliver.

If they had simply said it was a good and scary chapter I would have been ok, but they did NOT deliver on the hype at all

  • @Liruliniel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/155387/really-pyramid-head

Really? Funny enough I knew it wasnt Pennywise because It is not a massive horror Icon they teased. Jason has too many legal work arounds while someone did confirm it was possible. Overall it was a bad idea. This left mostly Candyman and Xenomorph. Candyman is not the most iconic either. Xenomorph is almost more iconic than Jason when it comes to monsters.

Pyramid Head is probably the most Classic Horror Game Icon. Was my first assumption if they ever added a game Icon, but I never thought they would personally.

I am not commenting on the quality of the chapter, it may actually be really good and I am ok with that.

However I am not ok with the marketing strategy.

    The marketing messages were:

    • Iconic
    • A milestone

For the horror genre silent hill does NOT fit the bill at all.

Silent hill is relatively successful series of video games which sold around 9-10 million copies in 21 years since its inception.

As a comparison, the resident evil main series clocks around 100 million sold copies in 24 years.

If this chapter was resident evil I would have been still felt betrayed by the marketing.

Iconic means something that is used as paradigm for that specific characteristic and silent hill represents that ONLY for affectionate horror GAMES fans.

    Iconic would have been:

1: Jason, the slasher with the highest body count and the real counterpart to Myers and Freddy

2: Pennywise, a creature from a nightmare which single handily created the fear of clowns

3: Alien, if we accept the idea of going into space.

These 3 names are iconic and milestones, pyramid head is not.

It is not because it doesn't really cross into pop culture, most people have heard of Jason or Pennywise, almost everybody knows Alien. Pyramid head? REALLY?

I would have also accepted Pinhead and Chucky (probably impossible to implement but still really iconic).

Anything below this level is not consistent with the marketing message.

That said I don't care I will keep using Steve and Susie as usual, this chapter changes nothing for me, but I believe I can express my disappointment since I was saving 1 million BP, my dailies and my rift challenges since I was really excited and now I will waste those points in a game where I already have all I want, that's it

If you’re disappointed in this. You’re not a true horror fan

I have a very different definition of iconic and milestone.

It could be a fun chapter but this is not iconic to me, it is really different than what I wanted

I expected Pennywise too, but he’s the second best thing. And after seeng what he can do and the other bits of the chapter IT’S THE BEST THING.

    Well done bhvr.

I don't know man, iconic in horror means much more than this to me.

I saved 1 mill bloodpoints plus lots of missions for nothing. This won't change anything of what I play, blah

Good point hahhah at least I can laugh after this major disappointment

Yeah, I just watched the 2017 movie to see what the comparison to the entity was about. I'm guessing the book version is significantly different because the movie version only seems to share one similarity with the entity, the ability to feed on emotion. Otherwise, it's a monster that could easily be part of the entity's conscripted killers.

Yes the book is 1500 pages of in depth cosmology, I am fairly sure they will get the movie version which doesn' t have all those super powers

  • He does the same to adults but they don't taste well, to give you an idea in 1871 he entered in a bar full of lumberjacks and he manipulated their minds to attack each other and lots of them died.

In the 1920s he manipulated the entirety of Derry to take the guns and gun down a band of criminals, their wives and kids. More than 15 died in less than 1 minute.

In 1840 It made an entire camp of more than 100 adults completely vanish.

It is essentially unstoppable should it decide to, but it usually doesn't because it is not fun, but should it want it is capable of insta killing anyone, including trained psychic wards guards.

Do not be deceived by its demise, the losers club win ONLY because they were guided by the Other, essentially God who was also the creator of IT

  • @Dehitay said:

I really need to watch the It movies. Everybody keeps saying how Pennywise is like the entity. But that doesn't match everything I've heard outside of this forum. Everything else says he's basically a space demon.

Let me tell all that there is to know, I am an expert in King's cosmology.

In the original IT 1986, Pennywise the dancing clown, aka Bob Gray is one of the favourite forms of the entity known as IT.

A part of this entity landed in Derry, around the time of dinosaurs and lived there for millions of years.

Its true form is comparable to a spider, at least that;s what the human mind can see about IT. Its real true form is made of something called the dead-lights.

This form of It is brother and probably equal to another entity called the turtle, later renamed Maturin the turtle.

Both of this creature were created by "the other", which is probably Gan the name of this god of the gods. This is the creature that guides the losers club in their path against It, it is also the creature which congratulates Bill after they defeat IT in 1985.

It is a female monster claimed to be the eater of worlds, in later books we will see more about this nature.

In the 1994 book called insomnia, It seems to be equated with another creature known as the Crimson King, this is later almost redacted with the two being probably two different beings.

In both cases, It and the Crimson King are creature of a dimension called Todash, this is where the agents of the Random come from.

Their job is to destroy the dark tower which is the centre of existence of King's universe.

So is Pennywise like the entity of DBD ?

Yes and no, they both feed on emotions, fear for It and hope for the Entity, and they both have insectoid appeareance. Both are capable of shape shifting abilities and both have reality warping capacities.

The entity and It would easily fit the typical monster from Todash, and we know there are others like It. Shapeshifters capable of reality warping and feeding on human emotions, in the dark tower novels we meet Dandelo which is very similar to It and the Entity.

This is the quick version of the cosmology, now the films will not reveal any of this stuff, or very limited.

You need to read the novel It, the novel insomnia, the novel 1963 to get the full picture of It. If you want more undrstanding you also need to read the dark tower, which is connected to It and the rest of the cosmology I briefly introduced.

Lore wise it would be strange to introduce It to dbd, but doable It and the entity could strike a deal or simply the entity could use the memories of Bill or any other survivor from the losers club to produce a monster inspired by pennywise. A clone if you will.

What does being awake change on the fact that Freddy can ignore BT?

Freddy will most likely be able to get in a Hit, meaning the Rescuer is asleep and BT is gone.

Of course both should not be possible, neither should Freddy be seen all time with OoO, nor should he be able to ignore BT.

For the first time in my life I agree with you :)

Negating borrowed time is bollocks, this perk should work on distance. If the killer is within 32 metres BT activates no matter what

    Michael Myers is strongly implied to have a mental illness similar to schizophrenia and in my opinion is a cautionary tale of what happens if you treat a mentally ill person in the absolute worst way possible. To quote the Wikipedia article on Michael's character;

"Carpenter's inspiration for the 'evil' that Michael would embody came when he was in college. While on a class trip at a mental institution in Kentucky, Carpenter visited 'the most serious, mentally ill patients'. Among those patients was a young boy around 12 to 13 years old. The boy gave this 'schizophrenic stare', 'a real evil stare', which Carpenter found 'unsettling', 'creepy', and 'completely insane'. Carpenter's experience would inspire the characterization that Loomis would give of Michael to Sheriff Brackett in the original film. Debra Hill has stated the scene where Michael kills a German Shepherd was done to illustrate how he is 'really evil and deadly'."

Michael Myers was a little boy with extreme schizophrenia whose family did nothing to help him. A common symptom of schizophrenia is hearing voices, so it would probably be safe to say that Michael heard voices that told him to kill his sister. And being six years old, at an age where empathy or even an understanding of good and evil is absent, he killed his sister. Doctor Loomis didn't even consider the thought that he was mentally ill and labeled him as pure evil, even as a six year old. To quote Doctor Loomis; "I met this six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes; the devil's eyes [...] I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...evil." How did Loomis become a licensed psychiatrist with a degree when he doesn't even consider that a six year old boy killed his sister because he was mentally ill.

Michael had no help during his formative years while suffering from an extreme mental illness, so it's obvious that when he broke out he wouldn't know better to not listen to his voices and kill people. He didn't have any guidance. He wasn't taught the concept of morals or alignment or empathy due to Loomis's sheer incompetence. While it's undeniable that the actions he committed were pure evil, I see him as an extremely mentally ill man who wasn't given proper guidance as a child and as a result has no way of dealing with the voices except for listening to them and killing people. The real killer in Halloween wasn't Michael, it was Loomis, who treated Michael so poorly that Michael became a killing machine with no grasp of good and evil.

In conclusion, Loomis is a horrible psychiatrist and Michael killing people could have been prevented if he got a psychiatrist who knew what they were doing. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

That depends what we consider canon, is the curse canon for you?

Myers cannot be played down to be just a child with mental illness, that wouldn't explain its resilience and its regenerative factor or the fact he can survive being stabbed, falling and being shot.

Myers must have something more to him and as annoying as it is the curse of Thorn does explain Myers supernatural powers

yeah, I remember a match where it was just me and the other guy as last survivors, it was yamaoka state so I could hide and get him to lose me 3 times while he slugged the other guy, until I got him up, he got downed in seconds and then he DCed. The hatch spawned near the killer, he closed it and before I could hide near a gate I randomly screamed again. It's ridiculous how he doesn't even need his power to find survivors when they can't counter to randomly scream out of no reason

Absolutely, doctor needs to be changed badly.

They reworked him with the premise of making him less frustrating to verse and they made him ABSOLUTELY unbearable.

I have been playing this game since 2017 and I have NEVER hated going against a killer like current doctor.

Screaming, no cool down action denier, random skill checks, annoying music, doctor is the definition of an annoying killer that needs to be changed asap.

I play a lot of high quality survivors. If you're dying to anything other than a godlike nurse or spirit, it's your fault. You have the tools and resources to 1v1 any killer.

so you dont mind posting a video where you 1v1 a competent red ranks doctor. Show us

The only way IT can be in the game is if its using its avatar, Pennywise, to parasitize fear from the survivors that are trapped by the Entity. Otherwise IT and the Entity could have a mutual understanding as the Entity feeds on Hope and IT feeds on Fear and are simply using each other for food. The problem with that idea is neither needs a symbiotic relationship to attain what they want so it would feel forced.

Not necessarily, the Entity and It could both be monsters of Todash.

It would fit perfectly and we already know that there are other creatures in the Dark Tower with powers similar to It

    Dandelo: feeds on emotions

    It: feeds on fear

    The Entity: feeds on hope

All of them have insectoid/arachnid forms.

It may work, they could simply have an understanding and IT could use a fraction of its power to hunt survivors and get their fear.

I think that if Stephen King said yes, they will find a way, by mutual cooperation, to have Pennywise

If Pennywise is a clone, then it's not really Pennywise, it's just an imitation.

Making The Entity It would also not work because of copyright.

And It only needs too feed every 20 something years, it doesn't make sense for him too be in the game even if he's ok with it.

Plus Steven King has said multiple times It is not going too DBD. He's already said it twice, don't understand why he'd agree on the third.

Unfortunately It won't work in DBD because of what It is. The only way it would work would be too say The Entity is stronger, which is kinda bs. Sorry but It will never fit DBD because of the lore of the character.

If you have a clone who cares as long as it looks and plays like Pennywise, it wouldn't matter to me.

As for feeding only every 27 years, that is true for the small part of It which became Derry, but you need to remember that It and creatures of its same species like Dandelo or the Crimson King, are always hungry.

Dbd could simply be one of the realms of the Dark Tower for what we know, and if that was the case then It can have access to its powers all the time.

That said, I don't think they will need to go this deep to have Pennywise, if Stephen King said yes, and you are right that he might say no again, It will be in the game. I suspect on a voluntary basis, like Myers

Yea, the only problem with Pennywise is the fact he is a god, so it doesn't make much sense for The Entity too be able too control a literal god. But the clown argument isn't a good one IMO.

Well the Entity sounds a LOT like IT.

If the Entity was to bring to DBD Bill, the main character in IT, it would read through his mind and learn about IT and at that point it would be able to create its own version, maybe calling it "the clone".

At the end of the day you would still see Pennywise but NOT that Pennywise but a copy made by the Entity.

That said the Entity MAY be IT to begin with, its powers are similar so they can certainly find a way to justify that.

Finally IT may simply agree to scare survivors and then eat their fear, it works.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Predator. Look up star citizen fps module, the Revival mmo, moving hazard (and whatever they changed the name to to get around its rep on release). Illfonic could program hello world in basic without a game breaking bug.

    Are these also ps4? Thanks

Nope im out. Im a rank 1 killer on ps4 and theres too many bugs that punish killers.

Theres too many broken mechanics that reward survivors.

I play for the pips, I never bring a mori because Moris only get you a black pip.

Hopefully the game gets fixed soon and i also mean moris.

Play survivor, there's no point in playing killer anymore.

After two years as a killer main, since the nurse nerf I moved to survivor.

Hopefully with predator and re resistance we will be able to find better games.
