The three who are playing probably did the same as you.
4 toolboxes is just too much :(
-
Very few killer playing, I just dodged a lobby with 4 tollboxes 3 times in a row.
The same lobby! Scarcity of other killers?
-
There are red ranks killers but they cannot keep up with the number of survivors, this is my typical rank 1 solo survivor match.
Lets be real, there is scarcity of high ranks killers

It won’t do anything if you report it.
Better to Tunnel the person they unhook to get them out of the game faster. Maybe the “tech” user would think twice about using it if every killer kept tunneling.
Or if you have bubba raise your chainsaw and camp them both plus the potential third rescuer.
They think they are smart by cheating, let them pay the consequences of their foolish behaviour

Three purples? I would love three purples!
I am also puzzled why I was put in that match, consider that I was doing solo survivor. I guess the mm decided that I had been waiting long enough

As soon as you hit green ranks as killer you can expect red rank SWF most games. I think many killers struggle with the huge difference between versing green rank solos and red rank SWF.
This is my typical rank 1 sol survivor experience on ps4 UK server, 10 minutes wait and then green killer 85% of the times, when I get a red killer the match starts within a couple of minutes.
When I play killer at Red ranks I also only get red ranks within seconds.
This sounds to me like there's a scarcity of red ranks killers
-
I hope he will yes, most annoying killer out there.
-
There are but they are a minority compared to red ranks survivors, if I play 10 survivor's games I'll probably get 2 red ranks killers and 8 green ranks. Haven't seen a purple killer in a while

I guess on the plus side, since I play both factions, playtime as killer is swift as I am of the very few red rank killers lol
Playing vs swf red death squads will make a better killer.
So just hold up, don't expect to win and do your best
-
True, I tested this with my sisters account.
Ten legion games on rank 12 account, always red ranks.
It is very sad but it makes sense, ps4 is full of red ranks swf squads, unpleasant to play against

this is solo survivor queue PS4 UK, exactly 5 minutes ago.
10 minutes to find a match and green rank killer, it seems quite obvious that red and purple rank killers are less and less

This simply isn't true, or isn't the ONLY reason. Someone just showed a endgame of a rank 2 killer against rank 10-15 survivors... makes no sense that they put him against them but put a rank 12 killer against red rank survivors?
Whetever you accept it or not, on ps4 a rank 12 killer gets mostly red ranks, in the vast majority of the games.
I tested this today on my sis account
-
In 20 legion's games today with a rank 1 account and a rank 12 account, I met AT Least two red ranks per game with a ton of swf same groups. I met a duo three times!
Let that sink, its obvious that there aren't enough red and purple killers on ps4 to keep up with the demands.
This is mostly because survivors are op
-
He is way worse, possibly the most annoying killer to verse. I hope something will be done soon
-
DS should NOT work on grabs, only when you are downed.
DS in lockers is 60 seconds of invincibility, very unfair

Honestly, they didn't fix what was annoying. Annoying whispers growling in your ears constantly, the shocks flashing randomly, the random skillcheck placement... It's all annoying as hell.
Playing against him is no better or worse than before. Possibly worse thanks to yet another random mechanic in that reverse skillcheck that happens from time to time with a certain add-on.
Playing as him, however definitely feels better. His abilities are both easier to use and require better timing. I find him more fun to play as, but now I run calm spirit every game thanks to him and the popularity of infectious fright.
Playing vs is awful, even more annoying lots of screaming, I'm fairly sure he will get a nerf soon, also otz predicted it

Freddy having 7 Snares is not really an argument, since he can overwrite them. And well, Clown has lost his right to exist when Freddy got reworked, since Freddy does everything what Clown does, is better at it AND can travel full Map away. Doctor being superior to Clown shows only how bad Clown is and not how much Doc needs a Cooldown.
Personally, at the moment, I think he is in a good spot. And Nerfs or Buffs should not be discussed until in a few months and I have the feeling that BHVR will also not do anything right now. Same with Freddies Slowdown Add Ons, those were a problem since the Rework, but BHVR took their time, so I guess we can discuss future Doc Changes when everyone has played enough as and vs new Doc and BHVR has more Data.
I wouldn't say in a good spot, he is annoying to play against. I think it is already time for a revision

Ds is more like a 60 seconds god mode, instead of being the anti-tunneling perk. So i've came up with a very simple solution:
The moment survivor starts repeairing a generator, decesive strike will deactivate.
(By the word deactivate I don't mean that you won't be able to use it the next time you will get unhooked)
So, the main reason is, that survivor who has DS and gets unhooked, can carelessly hop on a generator, and start making progress without any stress, that killer can come any moment and down you, because you have this perk.
Do you agree? That's cool. Do you disagree? That's even better, because we can discuss about it in the comments.
Decisive should ONLY activate when you are downed and you are picked up within the time limit, no lockers, no gen grabs.
Plus it should deactivate every time another person is hooked
-
Most killers have a drawback, the shock therapy doesn't it doesn't make sense, it needs to be limited
-
@Huntar said:
Doc has to charge for two seconds, and then wait another second for the shock to actually go off. That's his cooldown.
Clown has similar issues and 4 bottles, freddy has 7 snares, doc needs a limited number of shocks
-
Because doc is a killer who can spam his ability with zero consequences. Every killer has consequences but not doc.
Anti loop, anti stealth and slowdown, his shock needs a limit, max 4 or 5.
-
I accepted the tragedy of a red rank killer so I'll just try to black pip to stay at rank 1/2 and that's it.
Gens are going too fast on ps4 to enjoy chases so I'll just black pip, occasional pip when I meet less sweaty survivors.
I became way more of a tunneller and slugger though

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/128032/shadowborn-base
I would agree, but this would be a stealth nerf for survivors. Stealth is very difficult to pull off and having Shadowborn base would be too much for stealthy plays.
Before Shadowborn is base, we need to give survivors more opportunities to hide.
- Dense Grassy Patches (like the Yamoaka maps, but far less)
- More Clustered Lockers
- Base walk and crouch movement speed buffed.
I think the issue goes deeper, killers have pathetic fields of view and it is possible for survivors to literally disappear when below a killer, including a short one like Legion.
I am 6.4 and I can assure you that I can see a person below me, so the narrow fov and the terrible pov should be addressed.
That said, I agree with more protection for stealth, BUT without hindering the killer's capacity of seeing, so less corn and more obstacles.

Oh, I like this idea, a sort of a bonus for logging in.
yes so it keeps you motivated to log in, I hope they will do something like this :)
-
Maps size and tiles strength.
Plus the game needs to push the interactions between the killer and a survivor without punishing the killer by losing all the objective.
The fun is in the interaction not in the m1
-
I feel that the game is slowly becoming worse and worse.
The core of the game is the interaction killer - survivors, but with the current speed you may end up with four chases the whole match.
The game isn't fun when like that, we should find a way to force interactions without the need to lose a mstch if you chase a survivor.
So games are too fast, and we need to find a way to allow and even promote chases, jukes etc
-
yes please, sounds are so busted and they should be HIGH priority.

It's a matter of priority, this is just me speculating but I believe the developers had a choice at one point.
It was either Survivor DC Husks or DC Penalties.
The developers went with DC penalties, which is a great pick because you won't need DC Husks if you have a good enough system to make DCing non-existent. 😁
I guess we will see :)

I'm positive the developers will add DC punishments, they already showed us a early version of it.
Why would the developers scrap something they worked so hard on for us? 🙂
Because survivors are unhappy about it, we will see but I'm fairly sure this will not actually happen. We shall see who is right
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1070644#Comment_1070644
They already did, the developers took the penalties away because the system was punishing innocent people. 😁
They mentioned later it would comeback once the system is working as intended.
They tested it, I'm doubting they will do it. They said many things thst never happened, dc husks? Gone?
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/127722/the-unfairness-of-dc-survivor-strategy
I think if a survivor DCs to let their buddy get the hatch, it should instead start the EGC, power the Exit Gates, and the hatch doesn't open.
Yes, this can be abused, but once DC penalties come into play, they can't abuse things when they are consistently in timeout. 😁
I doubt they will ever implement the penalties, also the survivors husks were promised but I doubt anything will be done.
-
Can we please reduce the speed of survivors turning on console? The sensitivity is too low and it may be unfair, especially on legion during frenzy. Thank you
-

I think that if only Animation Enhancement didnt make you miss every time, it would be ok.
I think for legion they should do more, the fps is terrible and survivors are sometimes moving in a janky, twleporting way.
-
@bullet2th47 said:
All you have to do as killer is wait for the survivor to 360 and when they are done or in the middle of it lunge not at the beginning just follow them with your camera and problem solved what the real problem is you killers being to gullible and falling for a dumb trick
False!
Consoles have low sensitivity compared to survivors turning speed plus legion has severe fps issues during feral frenzy.
This is an unfair situation like the oni 180 flick was and it needs to be nerfed
-

Console player?
I play PC and have no issue keeping up (though I don't play legion so I can't speak for that) but regular 360ing doesn't bother me at all.
I've also played on Console. And that's MUCH harder as killer. But I also haven't put in as much time so I'm not an expert there as much as I am for PC.
If you are PC, a common counter is: once you figure out they are a 360er, wait an extra second and instead of lunging, simply m1. It's the lunge attack that allows the 360 to work because of the time between the lunge start and the weapon swing.
The problem on console, and specifically for legion is that survivors disappear they skip frames, it is really bad sometimes.
It is simply unfair
-
Legion's feral frenzy destroys your fps even with a boost mode ps4 pro, there's nothing you can do it about it.
Reboot the game, rebuild the database, play 720p,literally NOTHING works.
Survivors turning speed needs to be reduced on console or sensitivity should be higher and legion needs better fps, it is ridiculous.
Also remove the missing a hit you lose your ability

Yeah, that's what we all want at the end of the day. Without seeing the code itself, it's hard to know how feasible an option that is, though. DBD might just be built on shakier foundations than the other games you mentioned, and it's hard to repair the foundations once you've already built on top of them without causing the whole building to collapse.
Again, though, I do agree that the sound bugs should be high priority. Hopefully there will be a fix soon - for all we know, they could be working on one as we speak.
Gg :)

@Fibijean said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1066803#Comment_1066803
Of course... and nothing the devs have ever said contradicts any of that. Explaining why something happened the way it did is not the same thing as saying "we couldn't help it because it's hard". I don't understand why you keep insisting that the devs are trying to "argue" something to the effect of "it's fine for the sound to be bugged because fixing it is too hard", when that's simply not true.
I understand, I am simply trying to have a functioning game, where all the aspects are considered, even of it means slowly recoding the game to a more stable code
-
The game needs improvements in these areas:
1 map size: they need to be reduced to a decent average size and be the same size around the spectrum
2 map strength: they need to be balanced to have a similar strength across the spectrum. No more RNG, no more OP connected tiles (shack into jungle jym into cow tree? really?)
3: killer POV and FOV, they need improvements. Killers view is pathetic at best, they are (mostly) eyesight predators and their eyesight is insufficient for what they do. I am a reasonably tall guy at 6.4, I bet I am taller than nurse, legion or hag and it NEVER happens to me that if a person is just under and in front of me that I don't see them. The narrow view is really silly
4: remove all the things that stop killers from seeing, like corn and tall grass in Yamaoka AND add field of view blockers for survivors to hide behind. So don't hinder the killer's capacity of seeing, it is simply frustrating BUT improve the survivors' capacity of hiding
5: the grind, although the recent changes are good they NOT sufficient. I think removing perk tiers is needed at this point here or at least have a character start with all of their teachables at level 3 right of the bat. Plus increase BP gains by 20% across the spectrum
-
@Fibijean said:
Argument for what, exactly? They weren't arguing anything, they were explaining why sound bugs come up so often, because people keep complaining that they're not transparent enough about their development process. They didn't say it was an ideal state of affairs, and they certainly didn't say they weren't doing anything about fixing it.
I mean, yes, you're quite right that sound is important and fixing it should be a priority. But you're coming across like you're saying the cause of the bug is somehow invalid.
Programming being difficult is NOT an argument for poor execution.
The sound bugs have been around for months now, and they have been a constant issue in dbd every few patches.
This situation needs to change, because sound is part of the game and if a change in another area of the code impacts sounds in a negative way something needs to be done to avoid this.
I play plenty of others online games and I have never seen so many sounds related bugs, despite playing several games with the same engine of dbd.
In 2019-2020 we had already 3 situations when sounds were bugged, twice favouring survivors and once favouring killers.
It is important to fix this situation as fast as possible and take serious steps to try, as much as possible to avoid further issues.

Dude i hate playing survivor, some games go so quick i cant believe i waited so long for it, but not only that you nearly de-pip for escaping.. i want longer more interesting games, i love to get chases, i love to see different killers and perks but that gets less and less how this goes on, sure if you play killer and get a full team that cant play and hide it can be fun and longer but when you go against or have good team mates then the game isnt as fun. it should be less about escaping (after all youre entertainment for the entity) and more about what you do in the trial. i just dot get how people are okay with this how it is, i mostly play survivor now compared to 2 years ago but at least i can admit ho easy this game is and how broken it is when people can actually play really well
I agree, the game should be fun for both and sitting on gens is not, chasing is fun but sometimes the game ends in 3-5 chases.
As for the pip, at Red ranks you won't pip as a survivor unless the killer manages to give you some people on the hook to ubhook/heal etc
You are absolutely right

Not at all, an optimal team with toolboxes and any looping ability Otz gets zero kills. But that type of team is so rare, I mean I know all killers like to use the excuse of “SWF deathsquad,” because I used to do it myself. Then you start realizing that those teams aren’t common at all even at red ranks.
If you watch Otz consistently you will see that he has an understanding of the game, beyond the majority of the red ranks killers, sometimes he has borderline future predictions.
So for Otz to sweat that hard and win, only considering that the team had gens skills but weak looping skills, it means that there is a problem.
Most of my games in eu on ps4 are similar to that, swf with crazy gen skill and very short games.
Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose but a game like this isn't fun for anybody including the same survivors.
As we often exchange messages, it is clear that a lot of these survivors are not OK with 6-7 Mins game and a 10ins queue.
These problems need to be addressed, because currently the best way to play dbd is gen protection, no chases meta, like true talent does.
-
I agree even with a good quality gaming monitor this map is too dark, well both yamaokas are.
They urgently need to update the lighting, this combined with bugged sounds makes the experience miserable
