Hag: NOED, Thrill of the hunt, lightborn, Thanataphobia.
I just tunnel the first survivor I see and camp the hook for the rest of the game. Basement is my wet dream. I use NOED because you can't win against all these disgusting gen rushers so I punish them for playing the game with a perfectly fine and well-designed perk. This way I usually get another well deserved hook I can camp. Thrill makes sure I don't lose my NOED - you can't win without it. If it gets cleansed I just DC and report everybody. Lightborn because flashlights are ridiculously op and Thanataphobia because of the massive slowdown towards gen speeds.
I am hoping this was made in jest, but in case not report them for what?

Any indoor map, killer or surv. Also when rolling out my Piggy the Red Forrest map is quite the challenge as well. I end up only doing well there when I am able to snowball off of foolish auteristic plays.

I do. And about half of the flex/survivor mains does too. The other half should be reminded that it’s a horror game where random things supposed to happen and you only have limited information often coming from perks to work with and not a forking SWAT team organizer simulator.
If they tossed SWF on out we would go back to Survs dodging lobbies until they get their buds in, lengthening already long queue times. Plus more survs are in SWF than are not.
As far as the comms part how would you even accomplish this? On Xbox the party chat is separate from any game, and Microsoft mandates any game they accept cannot interfere with party chats at all.
I play both sides. I could part with Moris if Keys are gone too, or both reworked. I also can sometimes feel coordinated teams working against me when hunting (be they SWF or just good survs) but the answer is to bring solos up and then balance around that.

"It's not skipping hooks, it's a catch up mechanic. Last game I just played a Legion had 1 hook with 1 gen left. Theat person then got Mori'd, and what do you know, they ended with a 3K. Not possibnle without Mori."
That's precisely why moris aren't okay. The Legion literally got dominated for almost the entirety of the game, and they still won because of an offering. It wasn't the killer who earned the win, it was the offering that won the game
Couldn't NOED directly replace the Mori here and "help" that Legion get those same 3 kills? The main difference I'd see there would be one is preventable while the other is much less so
-
When solo I'd love to see all my team mates doing "something" while I'm in a chase or hooked. It can be gens, totems, healing, unhooking, anything besides crouching over there doing diddlysquat. Bond and Kindred tell you so much about what is, or is not, being done.

Same. When we get a much lower ranked killer they get a GG and an apology for the mm, no matter the results

This happened to me as well on Xbox. Had BT on only one surv, then Bill was added and his perks were relocked. Dunno if that was intentional or not.

The devs have talked about what is happening with matchmaking. For now everyone has to suck it up until they're finished.
And how would anyonelike to have this as thier first round as killer. Took us forever to get them those bloodpoints once we saw they were brand new...

What you need to do is some research... Rank is no longer how they match make.... Rank is nothing but a cosmetic number to make you feel good and give you a simple goal to obtain.
Match making is now done in the background. As you play you gain and lose points for the good and bad things you do. This point system is what is now used for matchmaking. So you will be matched up with other players at or around your current skill level. This could be a rank 20 or a rank one.... It all is based off how you perform in the actual game... The more you play the better your matchmaking will be. You do not have access to see what your matchmaking ranking is so just play the best you can.
So how would this matchmaking be explained? We all have 800+ hours while this was that killer's first match ever.

Honestly I don't think BH will ever have a proper solution.. what with the God awful matchmaking.. the only thing they most likely would do is make killers stronger, honestly most of this game is swf anyway. And if youre solo.. its not like you can't make friends.
At this rate they would have to go with the bigger player base... bigger base means more money and you can't monopoly on solo players as they are the lesser right now.
So the only REAL fix for swf is to buff killers a tad bit more. OR give the killer extra bloodpoints.
Ya mean matchmaking like this? Not how I wished to pip up.....

They do make a difference quite a bit, in any game. He would obviously stand a chance if they did not. And going by the perks he mentioned, this is not assuming swf.
You can tell night and day comm survs swf vs non comm swf.
Honestly swf wouldn't be so bad if they did what a few games did and block third party comms. But... im speaking for console. And no the phone argument is bull rap. I can't picture 4 lames on speaker phone with each other playing dbd and even if... im sure that would rarely happen.
I dunno about PS, but on Xbox they cannot block the comms, as the party chat is entirely separate from whatever game is being played. Also like 3 years ago or so I believe Microsoft mandated any accepted game must not interfere with the party chats. So how could the devs even enforce a change on Xbox?

Anti-Aliasing smooths edges on objects. MSAA is the preferred method but can be expensive to render (performance cost). FXAA and TAA are cheaper methods but a lot of people, including myself, prefer not to use these methods of AA, as they are a filter that just smears vaseline over the screen. Probably less noticeable on higher settings, which is why PC users using Low quality settings suffer much more.
I too am a consoler pleb, and am unsure how any of this affects us...
-
Maybe call such incentive or buff "The hunt continues"
-
Add only one pallet, or remove only one, and then we can talk.
Otherwise efffffff no.
-
If there is a dc, I steamrolled them, and/or several gens left then yeah, even farm slightly letting them drop pallets on me or showing them tottems. It is usually apparent when the last is a newby, so they can get some more points and a gate. Even done this with two bewildered newbys from time to time, and they are nearly all grateful.
Booting the snoot can usually earn liency as well.

I run DBD on an Xbox x, play both sides, Est US, and have around 1k hours. As far as I can tell, among the best arguments against crossplay with PC are:
This game has never been optimized for the Xbox, and with the next gen within smelling range will never be. So latency and dancing pings are still the main struggles. Add to that I believe the Xbox is the weakest of any platform used & carries the most Wi-Fi usage as well aggravates these worse.
From my experience the recently re-added ded servers have not in the least dealt with those concerns, but have made the game much more stable from the unintentional dc's, which is a very good qol improvement alone.
The lack of sensitivity adjusting (hopefully in this upcoming patch) has left killers like Huntress, Oni, maybe D-Slinger, and most especially the Nurse usable by only the best of the best. Even Billy is hurt a lil by this. Plus there is no getting around that a controller cannot compete with a qwerty mouse for accuracy and response time. We shall see here...
Framerate drops. Everywhere. Darn near every melee hit, hatchet throw, harpoon shot, Bloodlust activation, Thano activation, Exposed activation, Tremors activation, tons of fast vaults. I've even seen Dead Hard activation and the almost extinct grab drop frames. This issue alone causes the most frustration and misses for both sides.
I hope the gaps between the platforms are greatly reduced before crossplay is flung open. We really need the full pool for q times, matchmaking, and everyone should have the same experience with DBD . I sincerely believe the devs have the same goals in mind, and hopefully will not rush into CP prematurely.
Whenever I have brought up these differences to PC players in the past, even to streamers, I get two general responses: either "that's the devs problem" or the more commonly "Nobody should play this game on anything but a PC you're taking away dev time from fixing our game get top-notch internet" rant.
With mobile up now especially we have to discuss these things.
-
There is a feeling of hopelessness when you are hurt and being chased, two are dead and there's more than one gen left. You are kinda certain you will be slugged for the 4th surv. Makes me pause a lil when I'm killing and enter this scenario. Maybe I've been that 3rd surv too often, especially with Unbreakable already spent...
It is a valid strat none the less.

-
I rarely see nurses and cry out in joy whenever I get to go against one myself, usually saying "A console nurse let's go!"
From what I gather the nurse on PC is another animal entirely, and looks very hard to control on Mobile so far.
-
@ZoneDymo said:
I mean, the streamer could hide their (for that stream) made up username and could hide the lobby till the point the match starts....
A lil confused by this. What is meant by a "made up username"? I think Xbox only allows one name change per month. I could not even find this option in-game.
-
How about a perk called Ran Them Bones, which grants BT status to a surv hit with NOED but clensed at least three totems.
-
Xbox EST United States, afternoons & evenings. Wait for killin (rank 14 piggy or Myers mainly) very low 2-3min max. For survining (rank 5) for solo 3-5min; for two mans about 7-10min; for three mans 5-7min, and for four mans 10+ min. All worsen past 10pm.

And what about us poor consolers?
-
I believe the devs said a bit over half of the games are SWF of at least 2, so half of the survivors gone would do what to wait times? And how many killers will volunteer to go into SWF only queues?

Killers should know when players will be cheating on comms before the match thats a huge advantage

If you are against a swf the effects of the following perks should be buffed to fight the unfair match:
The effects of this perks should either be buffed during a match against swf, not affecting others that are not in a swf
I am unsure how you could buff third seal, but for knock out would be making the range lower, and dark devortion making the perk last longer
These buffs seem to favor a slug build is that your intent?

Needless to say, this post is about a stupid bug that stops you from playing the game you want.
I was trying to close hatch while there was a person left and guess what, my screen and killer kept glitching upwards and cancelling the close action. And seeing as how the grab animations either dont work due to latency or whatever, you cant grab them as they're jumping in either. Which means anyone with keys now will have a field day as the rest can get in no problem.
On the survivor side, was playing against a doctor where my HUD glitches out at the beginning of the game. That's right, couldnt see skill checks AGAINST A DOCTOR. I couldnt heal, work on gens, get out of madness 3. The only thing I could do which I'm not great at is loop. Not to mention, couldnt see which teammate was downed, if my perks were still active to make relevant saves.
Another game, a skill check from my previous game carried over in to the current 🤣 like... how?! It was just stuck there. Again, pretty much same problem, couldnt do skill checks, all I could do was loop badly.
I think I speak for many when I say this game is falling dramatically in quality when all that seems to be done about it is "Heres a new killer, new rift, new map and 100 more bugs while we're 'Potentially' fixing the many others from before". This game is sadly faltering and although theres some small glimmer of hope I have for this, I dont think I'm going to stick on this much longer.
I'm pretty sure they removed the hatch grab back when EGC was rolled out.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/141582/did-old-ruin-stop-gen-rush
Killer main, red rank over many different months, during both old Hex: Ruin and new Hex: Ruin.
It usually caused either one of two things.
- Great survivors would still miss the occasional great skill check, and either blow the generator up in their face or get 3% regression from a good skill check.
- Even great survivors would get annoyed and start looking for the totem.
Old Hex: Ruin was never something killers expected to last longer than 1-2 minutes. It was just in place so that by the time 1-2 chases were done maybe one generator had popped. Now it's not uncommon for 2-3 generators to pop during that time.
Now you are correct that at red ranks Hex: Ruin was not used nearly as often, because as you mentioned good survivors could get around it, by hitting great skill checks or knowing totem spawn locations.
So basically it did stop the gen rush for low ranks up through about mid-purple, which by that point killers were skilled enough usually to stop needing to use it by the time they hit upper purple and red ranks, which was good timing since it wasn't much good at that point anyway. Ruin essentially served as a way for low rank killers to get their feet under them as they learned how to optimize loops, end chases, etc.
By getting rid of old Hex: Ruin BHVR essentially made the red rank meta of not using Hex: Ruin as the meta for all ranks. The problem is you have many killers who either didn't get time to learn to optimize their chasing and pressure yet or had become reliant on Hex: Ruin as a crutch. So those killers are having a lot of trouble right now. You also have the problem that killers with setup time (Myers, Trapper, Hag, etc.) needed Ruin in order to give them time to get set up before starting chases. Corrupt Intervention helps but it's not enough most of the time.
The biggest issue is the Ruin changes should have happened after a lot of the particularly terrible maps like Disturbed Ward and Ormond got reworked. These maps are basically a no go for killers with low to non-existent map mobility. If Ruin had been reworked but maps had been made more reasonable, this would allow even setup killers an easier patrol route, the ability to pressure more, and encounter survivors more often.
That would have then been followed by a nerfing of the "core four" meta killers we have at the moment. Nurse, Hillbilly, Spirit, and Freddy would have all seen nerfs because with smaller maps their abilities would probably stray over into OP territory. However as it stands these are the four killers who are viable on every map, which is why they are spammed at red ranks continually.
So basically BHVR had the right idea, Hex: Ruin probably was something that should go, but they got rid of it before fixing the problems that Hex: Ruin was covering for, namely tremendous map issues.
Lots of solid stuff here, only thing I'd add is that killer list sounds like for PC red ranks, as on Xbox the top is more mixed, and I do the snoopy dance whenever I get what I call a "console nurse".
-
The games runs a bit smoother on Xbox x, but since consoles have never been optimized and ded servers are still off the best bet is restarts every 90 min. I feel your pain I stream DBD from my Xbox x as well, and restarts about once an hour are common for me, for one reason or another.
-
My personal fav Puppers loves Myers and Billy.
Are there any Xbox killer mains around?
-
I do not forsee any change being made to this perk, but if it was reworked to address being active & last alive I'd say give it a DS like skill check to hit.
At least the killer would still likely down you, as they already are likely still flailing your carcase in the hook!

- SWF error bugs (says someone isnt readied up or doesnt even show them in your team)
- Join failures
- Frame drops (throughout the game so from bloodwebs/menus to ingame actions)
- getting kicked from games
- Since there isnt dedicated servers my average games are 140ms
- cant grab 90% of the time
To this fine list I'd add the "No Network Connection" and "Initialization Failure" bugs. Usually get two-three games in before I have to restart everything...

Prolly, and I also play on Xbox. Most around here roast the ded servers. And remember it's your wonderful connection to a killer's lobby still, with their ping of whatever quality. Xbox never having been optimized plays a part as well.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Liked? No. Especially when there are always going to be certain elements within the community that bring down the reputation of others.
Pig is a perfect example. Complete fools will tunnel out trapped survivors. These players give the rest a bad name, worse still is that this bad choice of playstyle is actually rewarded.
I've had people message me and say how nice it was to play against my Pig since I don't tunnel in the slightest, and I don't because I can sympathise with survivors, and it's not an optimal way to play.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1181674#Comment_1181674
And it's not that Piggy needs a rework, but her ADD-ONS do. Her power needs some small QoL buffa and changes. Faster crouch walking, moving the roar back to the start of the dash, maybe making her TR 28m again, activating traps during EGC.........
Dem add-ons tho! So need lots of love.
-
The common response has been latency and your internet connection.
-
Perhaps the bleedout time should be reduced when all four survs are down? Nothing drastic just allow time for Unbreakable to be used, and if no one runs it the time is altered. I've been on the receiving end of four down and the killer has no intention of hooking anyone, especially one or no gens done. That interval seems like a week.
