Lot's of complaints about lobby dodging here. Queue times would be much better for survivors if the game was balanced correctly. People who are trying out new Killer's should not be forced to go against SWF's at the start. I'm going to keep stating this solution until it get's implemented. Either the game get's balanced for SWF's by adding VOIP to it so that every match is essentially a SWF or Killer's have the option to check off SWF's and increase their queue times OR Killer's get increasing bonus BP for size of SWF.
I just cannot see any of these proposals being implemented. I'm pretty sure nearly all killers, myself included, will dodge all known SWF lobbies, bloodpoint bonus or not.
Seems to me any changes the devs might do are in a "do not increase queue times" kind of mind. So cannot indicate a SWF in the lobby, cannot separate them out, cannot disband them, and cannot interupt comms but also cannot force in-game comms either. They simply won't do any of it, especially since more than half of all survs are in at least a 2-man SWF.
Given all that, the only method left is to raise solos to about SWF level, then rebalance killers around that.

All of this is even worse on Xbox. Come join us for the fun...

Messing with map offerings would likely mean Monto never makes another killer perk build video....

Any chance any part of this discussion can possibly help frames on console?

Have it that if more than on survivors runs it, the killer automatically get an ebony mori, regardless what else they burn.
Before every match survivors have a chat available, so even when not playing swf, you have about 1 minute to discuss who gets to use it. you don't need to rush into a match.
Consolers: What is this minute of pregame chat thing you speak of?
-
I have never ran this perk but sounds awefully unhealthy, especially if the killer catches yo butt

You should be willing to wait longer if you queue with more people. I don't get why every other game can make large groups wait much longer but this one can't. They'll probably wait 5-15 minutes for a game, which seems fair if they are a 4 man.
More like 12-18 minutes on Xbox these days, and that's just a 2 or 3 man. Gets worse at night in EST. Once the wait gets past 10 min we get either a rank1 monster or more often a rank20 with one perk, nothing in between. I get a killer lobby very quickly enough though.
Now say a third of all consolers opt out of Crossplay for whatever reason, what happens to the queue times then? And I'm betting a third ends up a low guess for a while...

Honestly her base kit as it is, is pretty much good I don't want them to mess around with it too much just look at Billy.
Increase her base Crouch movement speed.
Rework how jigsaw box skill checks work even make them more difficult naturally or allow the killer to build synergy builds that does so.
Aside from those two changes there's not much I would say needs to be done to Pig.
I'm just worried if they try to implement a cooldown or a recharge system for her
The one cooldown I'd accept on her would to be to slowly regain a trap over time once it is removed from a survivor. Imagine that back before EGC crushed her late plays! Plus survs would know she very likely has one more trap just for them.
As this change would both let her know when a trap is removed and make carrying another trap from the get-go unnecessary, those add-ons could be easier reworked as well.

With ps4 and Xbox together yes, with PC no, not until the current consoles can have steady ping, reasonable latency, and consistent frames. How can you combine platforms with such drastically different play experiences for both roles?
Puppers said it best yesterday when asked why he only plays on PC: "Why play at 40 frames when I can play at 100? Or at 10...."
-
I am a Mixer refugee on Xbox who now has just started on Twitch, so much of that criteria is way far off or impossible because the game hasn't been on console that long. I might, might be able to squeak out the YouTube portion barely. Kinda wondering how others without a PC would view this.
As far as increasing a killer's ire wearing such cosmetics as DwightOP mentions, I'd think that is very likely as well but view it as a risky fun challenge. "Defend the Shirt" or something!

Consolers: what the heck is this PTB thingy?

Doesn't really matter. In this game mouse and keyboard is not that much of an advantage. The biggest disadvantage the console players are going to have against PC is that for some reason they can't figure out how to get the game to run over 10fps on console.
This. The constant lag spikes, cardiograph fps, rollercoaster ping, and ten seconds ago latency concern me much more than a mouse being used or not.
Remember this game has never been optimized for console. Please please please to all you PC'rs try this game on a friend's Xbox before crossplay hits. Please!

It makes no difference on what platform you play killer because survivor movement is not advantaged on any platform over another. A console killer who has trouble aiming will have trouble aiming no matter which platform they go against.
It is not necessarily aiming differences that concern console players, it's things like frame rate drops and inconsistent ping & latency. Remember this game has never been optimized, at least not on Xbox, nor has the vow of a consistent fps (30 I think) been kept. Maybe on the next gen consoles at this point, but those of us like me who will be using the current gens long after the next ones are out are kinda feeling screwed.

Will public matches be matched with players from different platforms?
if console survivors and pc killers (or vice versa) get matches together it wouldn’t be very fair and it would be a complete advantage for one side.
steam and Microsoft store would be balanced
ps4 and Xbox would also be balanced
but console and pc don’t mix together, it would be a massive advantage for one side. So what’s going to happen about that?
From what I've read so far, we will either be able to opt out of crossplay entirely or all go into the big 'ol pool. I do not believe there will be an option for just consoles to combine unfortunately.

There is no in game voice chat or even in game txt chat, right? There is a reason why aura skills exist, why there is no build in chat etc. Survivors should not communicate.
SWF should be only Private to play with 5 friends.
More than half of all survs are at least a two-man SWF. If we separate out half or more of the survs from the pool queue times would soar. And custom games do not give bp either. Any separation and we'd be back to Survs dodging lobbies again to get in a match with their buds, also sending lobby times higher.
Do you solo when you play survivor? The odds say no.
-
I'd say only on the latest two maps are the totems that hard to clear, and that's due to better placements we haven't learned yet, but will in time. Until then make use of maps and/or perks to track totems as we all learn.
-
I was playing SWF and got disconnected on Xbox, an error message saying the game requires an internet connection (despite my party & stream not being interrupted), then an error message saying there was a game save error, and then all four of us got a 5min ban. Even though one died and two escaped, with me the only so-called DCer.
Soooooo......... what a whole bundle of bugs having a party right then?
-
Bubba is a lefty, but they didn't make a left-handed chainsaw back in '78. This did not deter Bubba. He was damn determined to express his art, and he adapted & overcame. It is what drew the Entity's attention in the first place. Or was it?
-
Maybe link it to the charms and make those useful. Have one of Claudette's charms increase healing another surv at +1% for her, and +0.5% for all other survs wearing it. Perhaps have Kate's charms vault slightly faster, Megan's drop exhaustion a lil faster, or Zarina heals downed survs a tiny bit more quickly.
Maybe Trapper's would allow him to break a pallet slightly faster, Nurse's fatigue drops a tiny bit, or Piggy's crouch speed gets a tiny buff, whatever. Very very small number boosts that fit the character, nothing game-breaking, but there are lots of possibilities here imo.
Of course this is adding rotini and ziti to the already complex spaghetti coding in the game. But it could be fun. Remember fun?
-
@TheEdMaverick said:
I cannot tell about Billy, Im not a Billy main but I really wonder if you can do curves with your chainsaw like on pc?
It is much harder but yes, with the recent controller sensitivity update it can be done. Takes practice though.
No "flicking" like a mouse can do however, really ain't there. All the same for Oni prolly.

Well if you're in the fog on Xbox find me and we'll get you some friends!

This Would prove the point that killers dont WANT TO FIGHT SWF. SEPARATE THEM NOW
Devs said more than half of all survivors are in at least a 2-man SWF. No killers would ever enter into a lobby knowing it's a SWF. I know I wouldn't. Do you play solo surv or are you with a buddy or two?
So to team up Survs would do what they did before, which is lobby dodge until they get their group again. Or they stop playing altogether. Any of this would create unbelievable queue times for both roles.
You can't force em into solo play. For better or worse SWF isn't going anywhere, and imo tryin to break them up or separate em would kill off this game in mere months.

Its the worst killer if you play her for the first time.
Its the best killer if you have hundreds of hours on her.
Case closed.
Not on Xbox. Bugs with huge framerate drops plus a controller? Thousands of hours on her cannot overcome that combo.

The Nea Hype shirt belongs to Diatech, and it's up to him to decide who he gives it to. The Bloodletting shirt was part of a paid promotion with the merch store back when it first launched, so we don't give out any keys for it (wouldn't be fair to the people who had to buy something from the store to get it).
If you do stream regularly on Twitch, however, we do have Twitch shirts that we give out from time to time. Our team browses DBD streams pretty often, and we'll give them out to people who are dedicated and put a lot of work into their streams.
Any similar plans for those who stream DBD on places other than Twitch?

Denying comms in some way would help out dramatically imo. Then they would only have to rely on what they are seeing on screen and not their buddy saying the killer is over here so you guys are good to do such and such gens.
How could the devs even accomplish this, if they wanted to? Dunno about other platforms, but on Xbox the chat party is entirely separate from any game, and a few years back I believe Microsoft mandated any game they accept cannot interfere with the party chats in any way.
We can even be playing different games or none, party is up. Likely to be the same on the upcoming Series X.
-
I still get that error message on Xbox whenever a killer immediately leaves the lobby after egc. Usually busts up our party as well.

They should add some kind of ping limiter. For example, if you have 150+ ping you can't queue up. This should fix the problem with vpn-ers.
Although, i dont know if something like this is possible since i never seen anything like a ping limiter
150+ ping and you cannot queue? Have you never played in Xbox? We'd never get lobbies

@JPLongstreet While they are rare, they're out there. I think people would just rather play another Killer that isn't such a headache to master. Blinking through the Exit Gates with NOED and Blood Warden equipped and then waiting for them to come to you is absolutely hilarious and my favorite thing to do with her.
With the frame drops and latency she feels impossible, I've tried. Now with a recharge on blinks and numerous bugs, who would put in hundreds of hours just to have your swings get dedicated?
So I main Piggy.
The Xbox1 is too weak imo for this game, dunno about the Xbox1x. Optimization prolly could have helped her more than any other single Xbox killer, but it never happened and now is unlikely with the next gen consoles looming.
-
Ghostyboi with Insidious, NOED, Blood Warden, and Remember Me/Rancor, pink Mori, and I cannot recall the add-ons. Each time I've run into this GF camped like hell & made damn sure the Obsession was tunneled and was dead before last gen. All three of us try like heck to block the tunnel but....

Nurse is still number #1. You just have to know how to play her. And also if you're swf you dont necessarily need to be good, you just need to hold m1.
Could this be a PC thingy? I haven't seen an Xbox nurse in months at red ranks.

M&A + Whispers + BBQ + Ruin/Corrupt/PGTW
I like to use at least one game slow down perk on Pig.
Thanks for the suggestions. So without the pay-perks it would be Ruin. As I said i would have to unlearn not even looking at the perk icons in-game.
-
@BlackRabies said:
" poor hearing nullifies its usefulness for me."
If your relying on the audio que then you're using Whispers wrong. It's not the audio but the whisper icon itself when it lights up that you need to look for when if whispers is active or not.
Whispers and Monitor and Abuse, 2 together are really good for pig. Say if your walking towards a gen and whispers light up crouch and continue walking towards the gen and can prob find survivors without ever alerting them to your terror radius.
Whispers has a 32 meter range, MA reduces your terror radius down to 24 meters.
Also Save the Best for Last if very good, for most M1 killers that don't have some sort of instant down. All depends how you enjoy playing the game.
Good points. Like I said I never look at my perks in-game, which I need to unlearn.

I would thinking working mostly visually would make Whispers a great choice. My understanding has been that, despite the name, the thing you're really watching for is the perk to light up to tell you someone is close. The actual whisper sounds it makes are secondary/ unreliable.
That said, would the Wraith's Predator and Bloodhound perks be useful to you? They help with tracking by Scratch Marks and Blood Trails and Wraith is a base game killer in all versions.
I've noticed I never look at the perks when I'm playing either role, probably why I get no use outta Spine Chill, MYC, or Devour Hope either. Have to break that habit but my eyes are fixed to the tv all of the time. Something to work on.

Otz has a few really good pig builds. I'd recommend checking those out since they function pretty well with her slowdown bear traps.
Thanks for the input, and I gave his builds a look. With my poor hearing I have to be more of a visual hunter, so again Whispers is ineffective for me. Every build there had pay-perks unfortunately, but he brought up M&A, which I never considered for my Pig but am going to try.
-
I get those "internet required" disconnections from time to time, occasionally coupled with a "save error 108" message.
Since I'm usually in a chat party and even streaming when they occur, and neither go down, I have to assume it's the game itself. On Xbox1.

What if maps would have enviromental hazards like this
For example walking throught certain passages on old buildings will make survivors fall. (just imagine that running from the killer you suddenly fall and you need to adapt your route to it or even the killer can fall of it)
Throwing a pallet in certain areas (old building like asylum) have a chance tp produce a rock falling injuring survivor but blocking the way (So basically survivor would get injured but he could escape of killer sight)
On saloon map that man that its hung have a certain chance to fall making survivor to stop repairing and warning the killer.
On badham school the pipes have certain kind of routine that will drop hot air. If survivor pass throught em got injured. If killers pass thro it they get blinded a few secs
Or in the Game map tipping over a small bucket of blood, making it slippery for anyone? Or in Lerys causing a live wire to momentarily stun. Or on the swamp ignite a small pool of gas and create a temporary barrier for either side?
Would have to be careful not not cross from horror into comedy though.

A new system where if a killer decides to be an a-hole and just swings his chainsaw when the survivor is slugged on ground The survivor should get half of the killers BP.
I couldn’t upload the video on here otherwise I would have shown it.
What did the slug in question do to get this honor from Bubilly, if anything?
There are times when a killer loudly states "This one is mine" often throwing the rest of the game. I know as a survivor you want badly to get them up, but whether it's bait or not your team must do the Camper Protocols and gtfo.

1. Console optimization, and no I do not mean skipping past the current ones at this point for the next gen consoles

As is Hex: Ruin fine unless you get a crap spawn. The only change I'd make is make it also affect the doors so they cannot stay 99'd. I feel this would be a decent bonus for the lil fella living that long in a match.
