Yeah I don't see why not. I like it.
Do you have to reply to every thread? This aint a gay bar.

This cultural reference is lost on me.

Nope. There's isn't a killer that would work. it would be shoehorned in. I'm very glad they kept it to a survivor thing only.
Smart move. Stop complaining.
Dude, quit with your Legion pic spam. No one takes pic sigs seriously.

How about we dance in our imaginations to feel better? You can be Pierce Brosnan and I can be whatever vixen of your choosing, so long as she's brunette.
-
Dude, you're such a buzz kill. I bet you go to parties and say, "I think we should all just take one hit." No one likes this attitude. Get out! GET OUT!!!!! BOOOOOO!!!!!!

Hello
interesting read, thanks a lot.
Please let me chime in on the Listening to Feedback part. My goal with the post is not to make an excuse but more explaining our though process.
Our goal with the PBT is so that players can give us feedback on the upcoming content and also find bugs or exploits in the balance that our small team could not find. Its simply impossible for us to find all variations and tricks on newly released content. Any online game faces that problem actually.
As for the feedback received, we do read and go through a lot of posts on our forum/reddit and look at stream/youtube to see what players think of the pbt. We take the feedback but it doesn't mean that we have to agree or put in everything. Even though it might seem that one specific point is a general opinion, just because there's a lot of post about it. There's always a number of players who will find it totally fine but keep silent about it. We take feedback and compare to our metric and also use our gut feeling in the process to choose what will go through or not.
For the Plague as an example, we got that some players feel that the fountains should not heal. We have playtested that scenario for weeks and came to the conclusion that they should heal to give even more incentive to Survivor to use them. We think its part of her balance are core design, and we have decided to leave it as is...for now.
But we did increase her vomit effect duration and Purge duration, based on feedback, since the original timing was perceived as not effective enough.
This is just a small example of how we deal with feedback. On a design principle its never good to makes a lot of changes all at once either. Especially since there is not much time left between the PTB and final release. We have to implement the changes, test them design/balance side and then send the changes to QA to make sure that these changes have not created bugs. We usually keep our ptb changes to value tweaks. Its impossible to do complete rework within that time frame.
I'm sorry that you have decided to leave the game. Although I hope that you will keep following it because they're a lot of changes that are coming up which have been community request for a long time (killer rework, gameplay changes, scoring rebalance, ranks...). I cannot mention them specifically, but I do hope we can announce them on our stream soon so you can see that the game is evolving based on what our player wants.
Thanks again
It's time to do something about the Coldwind maps as colorblind people have a terribly difficult time on them.

I love coldwind farms as survivor, especially thompson house aka the pallet city. But I understand why killers don't.
You can see through jungle gyms and many walls making mindgames non existant. You can loop the killer for a long time.
WOw, you can shut up now. This is why I DC as Killer on these maps. Dev's ######### up.

Does it really? Does trying to ruin the pool for everyone else who still enjoys swimming seem reasonable?
Yes.

@Dreamnomad said:
I'll never understand the motivation behind these types of posts. It's like some dude who went to a swimming pool for 2 years. Enjoyed the pool, but for whatever reason doesn't like swimming any more. Instead of just going on with his life he has to go back to the pool to take a dump in it before he leaves.
If he's mad at the pool then it sounds completely reasonable to me.

Same here.

I sometimes DC if somebody uses a haddonfield offering because strodehouse is actually gamebreakingly broken.
If I were to DC every broken map that needs a rework I'd DC:
Penn Asylum
Coldwindmaps
Ormond
Haddonfield
No Mindgame Haven.
You'd just be DCing all game.
Than you'd get banned. At least when I DC it is below the allowable threshold. So I win!
-
It's not fair for the Killer.
-
Im gonnna DC on Coldwind maps and there is nothing you can do about it.
-
33% LOL! I DC every Coldwind map, so im pretty much in the clear to keep DC'ing. If you dont like it, that's too bad. Im not in charge here.
-
They played Civilization, for sure.
-
You should all be nice to each other.
-
Im on metoprolol, paroxetine, ativan and tegretol. That's how I do it.
-
When I face camped teabaggers.
-
Right guys, which is why I specifically preempted your replies, "or whatever's balanced" in respects to the actual numbers. Im talking about this conceptually, not specifically.
-
This is the greatest thread ever!
On very few occasions when I play survivor I will intentionally get in the way of my teammate, blocking them so they are hit by the killer. It's resulted in a few DC's.
-
I feel the exact opposite in that they are not rewarded enough for escaping.
-
I have an unpopular opinion in that totem positions are fine. Let's face it, once in a while you're gonna have those easy-to-spot totems, and when that happens your mind exaggerates the situation as if it were standard. It's not.
-
Kate's think they're good, but they're not and usually die quick.
-
If I get caught within 20 seconds of match I just kill myself on first hook, lol

So like, I sympathize that you have a condition that makes it harder to play a video game, but in the context of DBD there is only so much the developer can do. If they implement some sort of colorblind option they have to make sure it can't be abused by a normal color vision person to see better. A major part of the game is hiding, so they need to be very careful how they approach these issues.
As far as bans for DC I personally have never seen or heard of someone getting banned for it. Supposedly you can but the DC rate is supposed to be really high for it to kick in.
Plenty of multiplayer games have colorblind options. Overwatch has it. The outcry of anger of being "better able to see" is non-existent.
-
Should be looked into by late 2020.

Nice more admitted DC because someone cant handle playing one of 14 killers.
Every day with this #########.
It's the Dev's fault. We can only take so much!

It'd be cool if this were a new game mode. Stepping on Hag's Phantasm traps also douse you in Clown's Pink fun mist.

Obviously you didn't read anything that I wrote, the incentive for ranking up as a casual player is feeling as if you accomplish something, or bragging to your friends when you play with them.
But doesnt the feeling of accomplishment and bragging contradict being a casual player? Im a casual player. I literally have played over 200+ hours and am rank 15 and I dont care about that because im gonna do what I want even if it's a poor move.
-
Hmmmmm. I think then a new perk should address people who whiff a lot. I know we have Unrelenting, but i'd like a perk where the Killer can swing faster and with a wider hitbox. Something that's balanced. This would help for people who constantly have lag issues.
-
What's wrong with these Dev's? They say they're gonna buff Thano, they nerf it. Bring in a timer so we know what to expect, then take it away. Honestly, how awful can you be at your job?

I hope your kidding
Im not. Why would I suffer through something I hate? Im red/green colorblind and my experience is just awful on these maps.

Nah, 4K is a perfect. You shouldnt depip from doing exactly what the objective was.
-
Welp, quit puttin' me on Coldwind farms and I will quit DC'ing them. I am NOT playing on games I dont want to. So either fix or I leave.

Good thread. I use Fired Up, Thanatophobia, Brutal Strength, Bamboozle

I play on PS4 and it's actually quite improved there -- both in latency and time to get a match.

Damnit, I was suckered into a necro thread. Step on a Trap.

@Bbbrian2013 He's actually pretty easy to hide from, the trick is you have to play him to understand how he sees the game. Dream World is very foggy and dark. If you don't hear a lullaby, as long as you're not standing out in the open, you are basically invisible.
Like I get why people don't like him but he's not hard to counter and as long as you don't get a dbag killer (which honestly a lot of Freddy players are, former Freddy main saying this BTW, and no I don't play like a dbag) then he is fun to go against.
I just hold down his dream world ability so that if someone is hiding and I cant see them he targets them. Im red-green color blind and honestly Freddy's different color pallet and ability really helps me with my disability. Same with Myers.

This is how my DbD experience goes.
- Go through 5 different lobbies due to 200 + Ping
- Get in a lobby too quick = dodge
- bring in an item = dodge
- ready up too fast = dodge
- ready up too slow = dodge
- finally get into a game. Then have to search for ruin.
- Get in a chase and run a bit and get downed.
- Get on hook and then get tunneled off hook.
- Get chained killed and downed due to all the tracking perks.
It's just become sickening. I play about 4 hours a week now and that's just to facilitate the friendships that i have made over the last few years.
get rekt

lol omg Dev's forgot about an entire platform. These dev's are the worst!

funny how you mention a tradeoff but whether or not all totems get cleansed the killer still benefits. free 1 shots or extra time to kill survivors
YAS. PERKS HAVE BENEFITS. YOU'RE RIGHT.
New entitled survivor quote: "But .... but .... but ..... .The Killer still benefits from having this perk!"
Jesus Christ.
