Gameplay - Haddonfield. I mostly play Killer so it's an easy pick. Survivors who know how to utilise the map will usually breeze by, those who don't make the game a bit easier, but even inexperienced Survivors can take advantage of what the map offers them.

Visuals - Backwater Swamp. This map, to me, is in need of a visual rework the most, and a layout adjustment. The raised edges of the map are just weird and make it uncomfortably different to the other maps. The atmosphere is dreary (not in the good way) and the ground and textures just look like clay. A swamp map has far more visual potential than what they originally gave it.

It also has those infuriating swinging gas lamps that make you see things that aren't there, and the spaces beneath the buildings are a pain to navigate.

  • @Trashmaster said:

Definitely rotten fields, the map that has no special tiles but does have a painful amount of corn and guaranteed basement in the middle.

It is ugly, boring and encourages going with cancerous basement builds

I'm kinda fond of that map as Oni, those fields are great for charging unhindered.

  • Yeah as survivor, I usually just get pissed at my teammates for this.

As killer, I tend to be a little less savvy about using the basement, but I've definitely done similar things if I have hooks in the middle of my gen triangle.

The crappiest part about this scenario is the game takes an extra ten years while they dodge in and out trying to do gens and save each other until they're all caught.

  • Yep, same hat. It's confusing, the darkness makes everything even harder because it makes it hard to see the few features there that help orient you, you can completely lose your orientation in a chase, you might be going for a hook and realize there's no door to get to it, or it's behind a weird twisty hall, sometimes you can't tell if gen noises are coming from above/below or through a wall, its altogether a terrible place for survivor and killer. Unless you're Scratched Mirror Michael, I suppose.

Next on my list is Midwich Elementary. I get they were really leaning into the atmosphere, but all the random sounds make it hard to know for sure if you're hearing another player or not, and as survivor, you can spend way too long running from room to room checking for a generator.

i'm fine with decisive strike used to purely stop hardcore tunneling killers aiming to end your match faster. but that's not only what it is for, and it affects killers who don't tunnel at all.

Just like I don't mind killers using BBQ to get more BP and get an idea of where their next target is, but that's not what it's always used for and it affects survivors who aren't trying to be [BAD WORD] or do anything but play their role. Seems we both have issues with perks being misused.

  • Perfect. Underrated comment.

Also, to answer the post, Huntress and Oni.

when a perk is extremely useful even if you are not using it, that should be enough justification to admit it is badly designed and needs nerfs. personally i am the same, although not because i expect there to be an obsession, but because the perk is gigabroken and completely deletes the tension element of survivor. nothing is interesting about 60 seconds of immortality

Here's the thing, though. Killers can easily ignore the whole "I have an obsession" thing and play however they want. Especially if they have their own obsession perk, they might as well. Like, it's completely up to them if they want to risk eating a DS or wanna back off. For instance, I had a match with a Doctor earlier where two players had DS. He didn't know which. He still decided to tunnel me down, even though I wasn't one of those two players. I couldn't do anything about it. I died when only one other person had been hooked, and she only got hooked trying to get me down.

If killers still want to do that, they can take the risk of me stabbing them. In fact, they probably deserve it. I'm not gonna shake my ass at them right after I'm unhooked just to stab them, but the discouragement from them being rude and cutting my match short is too good to pass up.

i just did, and nothing changes. you're simply lying if you say decisive strike does nothing. survivors being garbage and throwing themselves at the killer early game to waste ds does not mean that ds is useless. and don't get started on the pointless killer vs survivor battle. this game is heavily favored to good survivors and the killer is trying to build up momentum to turn the tide throughout all of the match. decisive strike denies this and wins matches all by itself, even if a survivor might not even equip the perk

The fact that other people use DS all the time actually does work out great for me. As long as there's an obsession in a match, I know when I'm unhooked, I have a chance to recover and continue playing, even if I get slugged. Sometimes I just take it off and let it ride.

Then if the perk sucks when killers doesnt tunnel why dont people agree to remove the ability to use ds when you are on a gen.

A killer cant be a tunneler when hé defends the generators, survivors that think otherwise are just being entitled.

Also if we are going to add youtubers in the conversation: Otz also hates this perk for reasons that are facts.

    What would those facts be

    Oh man, too many to name. A few tho;

    • teammates who unhook you safely and run off w/o healing you
    • teammates who get unhooked safely and run off w/o getting healed
    • when you get hooked and see all 3 teammates just crouching around/stealthing instead of getting on gens
    • when teammates are blind or dont recognize a situation fast enough, when to you its obvious
    • when teammates don't wait long enough and dive bomb unhooks
    • when a teammate goes down within 15 seconds of the match starting

Most of my problems have to do with my teammates, not the killer honestly.

    Seconded.

Will add, when you want to drop a pallet, and the interaction for it doesn't appear, so you get hit instead.

It is a map addon called Glass Bead.

It allows you to set one mark per match; it looks like a column made of light and is visible to all survivors. You can set such mark anywhere you want.

    Au Contraire

It's amazing for messing with fellow survs

  • I've found the same one. I was in a match where the Killer's Hex: Ruin was on it. We were stuck with the hex the whole match.

  • Oni does great without add-ons. With the exception of the two iris, most are just fine-tuning the basic aspects of his power, and often not in like, a super noticeable way. As long as I've got Sloppy Butcher and Infectious, I'm good.

[Slaps Oni] You can get so many blood orbs in this puppy

DS could be nerfed to 45 seconds and deactivate upon touching a gen and it would still save you in these situations. No one had a problem with DS as a deterrence to real tunnelling. It's just annoying when used as a free escape guarantee or used by a survivor who is clearly aggro'ing a Killer with the intent to use it.

Well, yeah. I don't go into a match wanting to use it. I have it for the killers who just want to get fast hooks by taking me out when I'm already vulnerable. But personally, I don't have an issue with the 60 seconds. Like I said, I don't get hit with it very often, and if someone baits me into downing them just to use it on me, I then no longer feel particularly bad about hitting them again. Usually though, I go for unhookers, not the person just unhooked, so unless they were just unhooked themselves, I'm in the clear.

  • @Artick said:

    Depends:

If you ask a killer main, obviously the answer will be: "omg how dare you nerf survs already so op damn man this game was so much better in 2016 when devs were not biased omg omg"

If you ask anyone else: "it is strong, maybe a bit too strong because it can be used for camping even tho it is supposed to encourage killers to not camp".

Oh yeah, back in the killer peak of 2016, when you could eat like twelve pallets in a match, and a single Jake could take out every hook except the basement ones, and Trapper could be turned into a literal M1 killer because all his traps got destroyed. Boy, do I miss the good old days!! /s

Actually, funny you bring up the camping thing, because some killers (probably less experienced ones) will bum around a hooked survivor if they didn't see anyone with BBQ because they... assume all the other survivors are crouching just around the corner, waiting for them to turn their backs so they can get that blasted unhook? Idk. I just see them doing it via Kindred. Yet, there is the popular argument that BBQ is easily countered by hiding in lockers. There's just a lot of conflicting stuff to unpack.

  • @vacaman said:

I've never understood the term "fair killer". I will allways tunnel and camp when i think it will give me the best chances to win. Usually camping is terrible as they just do gens and tunneling is also bad because you know they might have ds, so it does discourage tunnelling in most cases. Even if i get hit by ds it might not allways be a good idea to tunnel that guy if you have better targets.

I would say that for killers like me that just want to win the game DS is very healthy for the game and it really discourages me from tunneling people.

This, to me, should be the mindset regarding DS. If I don't wanna get slapped, I can just go after someone else, probably get another down, and by the time I find the first survivor again, DS is gone. The times I've been DS'd were mostly bad timing on my part, or like, mixing up two survivors who looked the same.

As a survivor, I think my DS has actually reminded killers that they need to be a little more thoughtful if they don't wanna keep getting stunned. I've had some who got real sweaty for a kill, followed me right off second hook, and if I hadn't had it, that would've been game over for me. Instead, I got to skedaddle, heal, and play on for a while. Only twice I think has DS turned me dying into me escaping, but it also required the help of my teammates for that to work.

And honestly, I didn't think I would run it. But after so many games getting tunneled because I had no way of preventing it, because in red ranks everyone just expects you to have it and tells you you should've had it if you don't, I gave in. Everyone I hit with it from now on can thank all the killers who told me if I didn't wanna be tunneled, I should've had Decisive Strike. There are other perks I'd much rather use, but I got tired of being bullied in and out of match for not having it. Same thing went for Unbreakable.

It's primary usage isn't for Aura reading it's for the blood points. It's why survivors run WGLF even when all it gave was extra blood points. And half the killer can't even utilize the Aura reading. The primary usage for BBQ is the BP not the Aura reading.

Only no one uses WGLF. Maybe if it was combined with Kindred, it would be more popular, but as-is, I have to weigh which of my other valuable perks I want to remove to use it, hope I can actually unhook in the match because the killer is sweaty and comes running when I try or other survivors beat me to the hook, and work my ass off trying to get the most out of my tokens if I get any. All a killer has to do is their usual objective, down people and chuck them on hooks. If you struggle just to hook four times, that's on you. WGLF is harder to use.

You're a new survivor. That much is clear. You're also a survivor main, that much is also clear, because you want BBQ nerfed.

As a survivor main, try to remind yourself how long your queue times are. The reason queue times are the way they are is because there is ALREADY a killer shortage (as proven by the fact that queue times are literally instantaneous for killers). If you nerf BBQ, in any way, those queue times will go up 100x. Easily.

Basically - if you want to continue to be able to play survivor, stop asking for nerfs to trivial killer things that they like just because you're bad at the game. Thanks.

"If BBQ, which is definitely not a powerful perk, gets nerfed, killers won't play killer anymore. Take that, survivors."

Why is it this is an argument in like, every BBQ thread? I get it, life is hard as killer. But threatening to ragequit because you can no longer use BBQ to find all the people you slugged is childish and makes me wonder why you even play this game.

  • @Patiencehero said:

Every time I read "Nerf BBQ", I feel like it translates to "I would like to get an episode of King of the Hill in between matches."

Eliminating the grind is at least in the 80th percentile for the reason most of us use it, including the 4k/slugfest jerks, and I don't see nerfing it doing anything except driving even more people away from what is seen as a frustrating, grindy, unrewarding role to play. The ones who're actually being toxic will likely just replace it with NOED, or legitimately just facecamp, since BBQ actually DISCOURAGES doing that.

Being Killer is grindy, frustrating, and unrewarding, but survivor is definitely not, no sir! Never mind that they can barely use their BBQ equivalent unless they want to take off their perks that protect them from sweatlords and [BAD WORD], and are guaranteed to make less points than killer if they don't escape or maximize their participation in the match. It is much less of all those bad things.

  • @Xyvielia said:

If survivors did their due diligence and cleansed 5 totems before touching gens, Undying may actually have been buffed

Can't tell if stupid or sarcastic

  • Well, it's not because they're too stupid to cleanse totems. Most players I know only hunt hexes if it's Devour Hope and they don't wanna die like, right [BAD WORD] now. For the most part, unless you have an absolutely bonkers killer who's like, running Ruin/Tinkerer and charging you from across the map every time you're close to completing a gen, looking for hexes is a waste of time. Undying makes it even more so. I've had matches where people cleansed three hex totems, all were Ruin, so the Undying was still floating around somewhere. Also had an awful one where Haunted Ground went off twice, which I didn't know was possible. You do them when you find them, but it's risky, since it gives away your location (especially Retribution and Undying), it might not actually work (looking at you again, Undying), and if it isn't what you think it is, you could [BAD WORD] your teammates. I had someone test this out in a KYF with Ruin/Haunted Ground instead of Ruin/Undying and he destroyed all of us.

Also, I'm not gonna run Small Game every match in the hopes of stumbling across someone's hexes, or grind through a million maps trying to clear every totem. See above re: Waste of Time. Me hunting totems means me not unhooking, healing, or of course, doing gens, which means me more likely to die. I'll do it for a challenge, with the knowledge that I'm kinda throwing, but that's it.

P.S. There's at least one totem that cannot be cleansed. Ever. If you've ever found the one that spawns on the Coldwind map under the combine wheel, you know what I'm talking about. I played against one Ghostface who got super lucky when his hex spawned there and it couldn't be removed.

Actually, with Huntress it really is a hitbox issue. I get hits that I can clearly see, form the killer point of view, shouldn't collide. We're talking nearly a foot away from the survivors model. I don't want to think about how dirty it looks from the survivors end.

From the survivor end, it looks pretty hacked. You might actually hit the ground with the hatchet's movement trail running perpendicular behind you, but somehow, you are now dying?? Or like, you see blood spatter in the air, then you fall. It's buck wild.

  • @ManyAchievables said:

Breakdown saved me a long time ago. I was being camped by a Huntress at EGC near the exit gate as Jeff, got unhooked, and was barely able to get off of the Killer's shoulder and escape via the gate because of the broken hook.

It wasn't exactly a W, but one of my buddies was using Breakdown and a Nurse dead zoned a whole section of Auto Haven from hooks. She couldn't get me to one without me wiggling off and bolting, so she slugged me and let me bleed to death, so the satisfaction was mostly from watching her ragequit and leave me to die after tunneling someone who broke every hook he got taken off.

  • Beast of Prey. On a big loud boi like Oni, that Undetectable was invaluable. I gamed survivors at the killer shack, where I'm kinda boned if I'm not fast enough.

Idk if it's as weak as some, but Spine Chill saved my bacon at an exit gate. The killer had a long sight line approaching, so I got the most out of those 36 meters of extra speed, and got far enough in for the hit to knock me over the finish line.

  • When I clicked this link, I first thought the thread would be related to Huntress's fine [BAD WORD]. Somewhat disappointed to find that isn't the case.

However, I really do wish they would do something about that. I'm sure she has a great arm, but I don't think it's curve-the-bullet, battleaxe-throwing great.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/220018/playing-nice-ruins-the-game-in-the-long-run

I’m of the thinking that something isn’t a problem if people don’t abuse it. It’s actually impossible to create a perfectly balanced game where none of the mechanics are abusable. The devs depend on the players to a certain extent to behave and be a good actor instead of a bad one. Sure many things we can balance and avoid unfairness but some are just not fixable unless the players agree to honor each other’s time and commitment.

I guess what I’m saying is, yes we can balance certain things and probably should and not assume people will be good actors. But there really is no substitute for human decency and compassion. No matter how you balance something or whatever systems you create, these two things will never be replaceable.

The Culture of gaming comes into play here a lot. Lack of empathy, dehumanization, and shock humor have been deeply ingrained in online gaming for a long time. I've even found that if I compliment people after a match, they react defensively (offensively?) even if I'm being genuine. That's how accustomed players are to this [BAD WORD].

Really, I think games are better when people aren't being sweaty or trying to antagonize. They run more smoothly, it feels like everyone is fulfilling the functions of their roles, and at the end, there's less BS in chat. Fewer hurled insults. I've met other people who invite me to play with them again that way, even. I don't particularly understand how the bad actors think when they're choosing to sabotage the game for someone else, but my general assumption is they have real-life issues that they take out on anonymous strangers because that's easier than confronting the real problems, or they have an actual personality disorder. And of course, the internet has taught them that griefing is how you deal with these things.

  • I kinda miss old Billy. This one is way easier to handle as survivor, but less fun to play. I play Oni mostly, who has a lot more mobility, but the disadvantage of not having access to those power attacks as often.

  • Why... would you add a hook? When you could just have them dead in three? I get you're, like, trying to give other survivors a reason to leave gens, or something (???) but isn't it overall simpler to just have them be dead and have one less survivor working?

Also I gotta be honest, you're at a massive disadvantage just for playing Trapper. A good Trapper is a scary thing, but he's never gonna have the traction of a good Spirit or a good Billy.

  • Yeah, I know game developers like to act like this is some wild advantage or a difficult thing to accomplish, but it isn't that hard. It can be as simple as a little switch in settings that turns green into blue and red into pink. Or something that adds an outline to auras so you can differentiate them from things. It's hard enough as someone who isn't red-blind to see red auras on red auras, I've had the thought that it must be a [BAD WORD] for colorblind killers in the past.

  • People have some wild experiences with keys that I've never seen while actually playing, but genuinely, it feels like keys are just as bad for non-key survivors, particularly solo players who end up getting punished for being on a team with a keyholder, as they are for killers. I'm not exaggerating. If you're solo queue and you have a teammate with a key, they can't tell you what their plans are. Maybe they're grouped with someone else who's in on it, but you have no idea. They have a key and are obviously SWF? The killer is gonna have an eye on them from the start. Some, though, assume everyone is in on it and drill you into the ground just for being on the team. Even if you don't have the key, it's not hard for a killer to tunnel one person, kill them before the rest hit three gens, then the same with another one. I'm always tempted to tap out of lobbies where someone has a key, but queues are long and I try to just accept that I don't know what the match will hold, so bailing is unnecessary.

Truthfully though, in a normal match outside of high red ranks, I've never seen a key work like I've seen them in streams.

  • Honestly, you get more points/better scores if you're a good killer who doesn't camp/tunnel/slug, but you have to be a *good killer.* They're not as common as the number of Rank 1s would have you believe.

Like other people said, what counts as a "win" in the game isn't super clear. I base it mostly on emblems and score, other people base it on kills or escapes, some people just like to be mean and a good game for them is one where people come into chat afterward and flame them. It's all up to you. If you get to the end of a match, there's two survivors left, they haven't finished gens, and they're being altruistic/sticking close together, some "tunneling" is unavoidable. After all, you only have two options. You can kinda let them unhook each other for the points if you're feeling generous, but it's not necessary, just a nice thing to do.

you cant even determine what farming is...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1877194#Comment_1877194

that doesnt make sense, did you come up with that?

As an illustration for you, take this example I saw in a match.

Killer was Bunny Mom. She three-hooked two survs early in the match, left the other two injured. She found the Dwight, and kept downing him with hatchets, picking him up, letting him wiggle off, and chucking another hatchet at him as he tried to run away. She carried him to a dead zone so he couldn't escape easily and continued this until she had all the points she wanted, then left him slugged. Meanwhile, the other injured survivor was working on gens alone, because there was no one to heal her and no one to help.

That is not an appropriate way to farm. Keeping one survivor from being able to escape and forcing one others to try to do the majority of objectives alone is griefing/holding a match hostage, or at least holding a player hostage. It took the other remaining survivor ages to get a single gen done alone, I think she might've been mangled, and when she tried helping the Dwight, Bunny Mom would just chase her off. Didn't actually down her or anything, just chased her away and resumed her hatchet practice.

If it’s not OP why is it heavily used. Why is it heavily discussed. Not buying the BP bonus. Use kindred and watch killer scan after a hook and hone in. Not fun playing a ONi or Hilly illy with this Iwin perk. Pretty much have to play assuming they are using it and like poster said position near a locker, climb in count to 5 while they are on the hook and climb out. If it’s not OP why is it used soooooooo much. Looks damm OP to me. Play without it then. Seems like almost a crutch for far too many killer mains.

This right here. I play an unreasonable amount of solo queue, so Kindred is always slotted. I see when someone has Insidious, I see when someone is mocking the person on the hook, I see when they immediately scan the map for their next target. Sure, the BP gains are good, but that's not the only reason people run it. It's a 2-in-1 point multiplier and survivor-tracker so you don't have to wander around after a hook looking for a new target. Most killers I see using it aren't running a bloodpoint build, so the excuse doesn't really hold up. Also, some killers run it with Nurse's, Bitter Murmur, and Whispers, you know, just in case they're having trouble finding a survivor.

Is it OP? Maybe not, but I'd say its extremely common use says a lot about its power. Personally, I don't think it should show dying survivors. People will have a laugh and say I'm being "silly" or some other condescending [BAD WORD] but I've played against too many killers who use it to slug for 4Ks. I'm talking Blights and Bubbas and Wraiths who run BBQ and maybe one other perk, then run around swinging wildly until everyone is on the floor. Then they pick the survivors up, one by one, and each time they hook one, they hone in on the next hookee. And downed survivors don't really crawl fast enough to get away from that location.

  • I wouldn't mind making keys one-trick ponies so killers can still choose to bully keyholders, as they are wont to do, and separating the aura-reading into a different device, like... a compass. Sometimes, I want to use the key add-ons for a challenge or something, and being relentlessly tunneled and/or camped for an imagined threat is no fun. If I can bring in a different object, I can maybe have fewer [BAD WORD] matches with a pissy killer who's hatch-phobic.

Slight tangent, I'd love to never see another rift challenge requiring a key. Seriously tired of the bullying. Like, I'll dodge a survivor lobby if one of my teammates brings a key because I like to actually play, not just hang on a hook while the killer hits me over and over for someone else's perceived slight. If I bring a key into a match myself, I'm basically prepared to get destroyed. And the best part about these gross overreactions is they usually come from killers who are not and have probably never been at the rank of play where some SWF death squad could've pulled off the 2-gen escape on them. Lower-rank killers have just been taught to hate keys because they mean they might not get to kill everyone.

Nobody cares if the last surv escapes through hatch, you have an equal chance of finding it, but you have no chance against a key, even less if those 2 ppl are swf.

I am sick of always have to fear, somebody escapes through this flawed mechanic, stealing my well deserved win. Why should i then keep on playing without camping / tunneling, if i get ######### over by this mechanic? Last second switches to key or just luck to find one?

  • Their report system really is shameful. I had someone escape a match today with no gens done, while they were on hook, and they still got 16k bloodpoints out of the match. I don't know what to do about it. I wasn't recording, but there were four witnesses, and all we can do is file a standard report for it individually and, what, cross our fingers?

  • If you're really burned out, like everyone else said, take a break from the game.

Otherwise, try playing killers you've never used before. Odds are, you'll drop ranks while learning and getting perks/add-ons for them. People have much more diverse builds once you leave the high ranks, and while they may be easier to handle, at least it's not a whole team of DS/BT/DH/Unbreakable. There's kind of a wall at about rank 4, or so it feels, beyond which non-meta builds just can't keep up, so you don't see them anymore. From the survivor side, dropping ranks also gives you a chance to meet killers who aren't running super-optimized Stridor Spirits and Forever Freddies.

Solo Survivor console main here. I don't think BBQ is OP. Only time it really hinders teams is when there are Survivors who are new or unaware of how to handle BBQ. You can easily counter or bait Killers who rely too much on BBQ tracking. Quite fun actually, watching them look around in a spot you baited them to (this also buys Survivors gen time)! Def annoying though when I have teammates who repeatedly get wrecked cus they don't know what's going on, but what can ya do 💁‍♂️ ...oblivious players are oblivious, they'll learn.

Maybe things are different on console, idk. I turned off cross-play because I wasn't fond of how console players do things. But on PC, killers slugging and using BBQ to find their slugs is common practice. And this isn't among "new survivors," this is in red ranks. Killers with instadown abilities especially like to do this for easy 4Ks.

Except that I'm a survivor. A unbias survivor without any entitlement.

You sound like a very biased survivor. With plenty of entitlement. You just want to pretend you don't because you think the "honorless" people who make up this fake rulebook for everyone else are somehow different/less than you.

The reason killers act with such disgust towards keys is that keys completely change the rules of how killers play the game.

Killers normally win via applying pressure to the survivors and preventing them from efficiently repairing gens by reducing their overall repair power and forcing them to focus on other things, like chases and rescues. A killer can't defend every single gen, but they can stop all 5 gens from getting done if they are clever.

Keys ANIHILATE this dynamic. A duo with a key who play cleverly are a duo the killer basically can't pip against, and will struggle to safety pip against, because suddenly the killer goes from needing to ensure 3 gens aren't completed, to needing to ensure 5 of the 7 aren't completed, which is a completely unrealistic count. What is worse is that it messes with the freedom of the killer to try to eliminate players: suddenly punishing bad survivor play like unhook farming actually is bad for the killer, which means key holders can be way more reckless and in your face than a regular survivor in an unfun way, because you get in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' position: Do you punish unhook farming? The key duo doesn't care if you kill the people they are matched with, they WANT them to die on some level. Do you not punish the farm? Ok, the survivors win conventionally by doing 5 gens because your pressuring 0 survivors after wasting time unhooking.

Its just awful, and so most killers pretty reasonably do everything in their power to kill the key-holder as their main objective, both to discourage survivors from bringing keys, and because they literally have to because if you have a key by two kills the killer loses!

And this style of play isn't fun for the killer at all. And unlike Moris, which also create an unfun 'avoid chases at any cost' playstyle for survivors, there is no 'out' for the killer. Games with keys don't end fast, its an exercise in teeth pulling and you having to be this maximal sweaty stressed out jerk if you want to win cleanly.

This is why so many killers were pissed about the mori change but not the key change happening: Moris weren't a great counter to keys victory wise, but they allowed you to 'punish' survivors for trying to do something so awful to you: 'sure you brought in your key, but you lost and depipped with 5k bloodpoints, get the hell out of my lobby and think about what you tried to pull.'

So there is both an in game strategy (You NEED to get rid of the key) and a meta-strategy (Killers want less keys in the game, so killers overall collectively punish bringing a key).

So I definitely am not familiar with the playstyle you describe, I guess I'm just not at that level? I'm just used to getting my [BAD WORD] kicked in any time someone brings a key, and it appears the killer is just bullying us for no reason. Keys, to me, are super chancey, and usually not worth the effort it takes to not be destroyed while you have it. I've even been in matches with people who found a broken key in a chest, and the killer still punished all of us for it. Then there was the match where a Huntress used iri heads and camped me to death, when I wasn't even the one who brought the key.

Basically, I think a lot of killers have an overblown idea of keys, based on things they've seen on rank 1 streams, and they're inaccurate to most levels of play, and the killers are just using this as an excuse to be bullies and have it seem justified.

I just decided to try a mori.

4 kills yeah. Guess how many was moris? 0 kills was. I got 0 kills with a mori.

Once the survivors had been hooked twice the other team mates didn't even try to unhook them. They was left on the hook to die. I didn't even get the chance to even kill 1 player with mori.

That was a wastw of offering. I could have used ardent shrike wreath. 100% bp in sacrifice.

One of the most pointless offerings to be used by me.

0 kills with a mori and this was just a nerf.

Id like to add. I was acrros map kicking gens and going after other survivors not camping at the hook. I think there was 3 gens left on map at finish.

Have you not played survivor before? People do this all the time. They used to just do it on first hook. Unhooking someone else just so they can die to a mori is a waste of time. It puts you at risk just so the killer can get a creepy murder cutscene. Of course they didn't bother.

What are you using the mori for? Are you using it for the creepy murder cutscene? Are you using it to scare or punish survivors?

BBQ is almost in every match. Killers really aren't viable without it. I always hear "it's for the bloodpoints" and yet, they often have some other aura reading perks and add ons. At best it's half true. It's very rare at red ranks to a see a build that doesn't any combination of bbq, nurse's, ruin, undying, infectious fright, and tinkerer. Since they maps some maps smaller, clowns can cover the distance using bbq and tinkerer.

I'm not saying the perk isn't balanced, per se, but I'd be interested to see how much use it would still get by removing the aura reading and bonus at different times.

For real, I run into people using BBQ with Nurse's, Bitter Murmur, and Whispers. That's excessive, and it's definitely for a reason.
