Resident Evil 3 is the tentacle game. Nemesis has tentacles. We have Dead Hard to mimic the juke mechanic in RE3. All we really need now is a rail gun and a rocket launcher.
-
Back in the day before survive with friends was added to the game people would leave and rejoin lobbies until they found their friend. The game is bigger now and that's harder to do but that's why SWF was added; to stop lobby dodges.
-
To be honest none of the other survivors probably pipped that game because in situations like that it's easy to lose chaser and altruism points because of few unhooks and the killer is off serenading you under the pale blue moonlight.
Recently I had a game where it was vs. Leatherface and we had two gens done in less than a minute. Right as we were about to repeat that process he hooked someone that had Kindred, and I watched one of my teammates go into the basement to search for items. Leatherface had Territorial Imperative and we all died trying to get her out of the basement.
All it takes is one play. On the bright side if the killer is on you, you have control of the match. You can run them for a few gens very easily at high ranks if they focus on you. When you're fully red rank one day you'll see your situation as much less of an issue.

Those are some fantastic outfits!
And a fellow fan of Jeff's holiday sweater and part of Dwelf's outfit. I actually use the other parts for my Dwight ensemble:

The pants jingle and it makes me happy, that's all there is to my reasoning for this outfit (though the head cosmetic may vary).
Meme Dwight clothes AND representing the Trapper?
I approve!

Yeah when it's the official forum of a major game publisher the higher-ups can be pretty anal about general practices and appearances. And in my case I was asked to join the mod team after I'd already been a member of the forum for a year so I had to moderate my own friends. It's definitely not the easiest job. High stress, little reward. But there's a pride that comes with the responsibility, knowing that you're trusted and respected enough to be given the job. If the company is reputable they won't do that for just anybody.
...Even if that's of little consequence when you're spending all day dealing with people yelling at you, your bosses, the developers, the game, the other players, and pretty much everything else that exists. XD
I definitely respect it. Imagine how the internet would be if everything was like it was back in the 90s. Really crazy. At least you guys get paid for your hard work so it's a fair give and take I think.
-
Out of those two Freddy will get you more kills with less effort but Myers is a community favorite and can mix up the game with his add ons.
A lot of them really depend on how you play. Not how you think you play, but how you actually play. Also if you need Ruin buy Hag. Everyone has Ruin, but nobody ever plays hag. You know why.

I'm just messing with you.
No I'm not. Look in the tree.
Oh I see it now. That's pretty clever!

Tee hee
-
I call Yui goat girl, but it's an endearing term. When I play her, I just feel like I'm playing goat simulator is all.
-
My P3 are Dwight and Trapper. I have a thing where I only prestige after I've used up all the items/add ons currently on the character and I don't level them past 50. Whatever perks they have, they have. (If I need to use x perk, I have Dwight/Trapper with all perks.)
The more I play them, the bloodier they get!
-
I used to love Alert. It's just competing with a lot of other perks for space.
Nowadays I hop on a generator at the start of the match and focus on it until the killer comes. If they do come, I've already got a plan of escape. (usually) If they're off playing touch football with another survivor then I'm just gonna relax and do my gen-
(This survivor was pulled off his generator by Myers.)
-
One T L wall + shack and you've done this without thinking about it.
Hatch challenges though...of any variety, thanks I hate it.
-
Wings. Like big bulky angel wings and what not that are huge and stick out like a sore thumb. All sorts of wings.
Also pets that follow you around (but maybe only you can see) also swimsuits.
Yes.
-
If I'm playing to stay up I run Self Care, Desperate Measures, Soul Guard and Dead Hard. Beyond that it's map knowledge and playing smart.
You've got to survive so I can survive!

I just apply it directly to my forehead.

the longer i play killer the more i hate the game. i was a lvl 50 bill and got presteige on him and i decided i wanted to try killer out. BIG mistake. i hate this game now. im constantly against rank 1-5 survivors as a rank 18 killer and im constantly getting bullied by either the ######### in the beanie hat or a feng min. like i literally dont wanna play most games because every match i get is just insanrely hard against all survivors who are rank 50 with top stats and I dont even have my 4th ability unlocked
It gets easier. When I first started I was a Trapper and didn't touch survivor til a few weeks later. I rarely use anything other than common add ons unless I'm doing a rift or something, plus it always feels like to me you get more points as killer than you do as survivor.
The only thing I don't like about killer is you have like a foot of a blind spot directly in front of you so survivors really close to your model can get tricky on you if your game sense doesn't activate, but I've always found patrolling gens to be pretty chill. Once a pallet is gone, it's gone. Stop the chase and go after someone else. They'll go to use that pallet and oops it's not there. M1.

ohhhh okay. dang i wish i hadn't opened the gate so soon lol, i just wanted them to get the Win since I had to afk suddenly. i try to be a fair sport as a killer and not tunnel or camp or anything but im still SO NEW and honestly playing fair almost makes it impossible for me to win most games. i think I only ever won ONCE in a match, and it was against other rank 20 survivors and I was a rank 20 killer. lately it seems all my match ups are against Rank 8 and up and I'm still Rank 18, so it feels really unfair
Take your time with killer. A thing that trips up killers that don't play survivor is that you have a giant red glow that you can't see about six feet out in a cone from your character model. Survivors at loop are watching that red glow to see which way you're coming and looping accordingly. Learning when and where to manipulate your killer glow will change the outcome of matches.
What I like to do is right after I hook someone is immediately leave them and patrol generators again, and if you're not in a new chase by the time the survivor is rescued return to the hook. That'll scatter half their team. The injured person is going to be skittish until they're healed which will help you apply pressure. It's not until you get into the red ranks that you'll see injured survivors pushing generators so don't be afraid to tap multiple survivors with your weapons. From there it's just a learning experience. Until you learn the maps let experienced survivors take you on a tour and watch how they're looping you. There's usually only one way to efficiently do a loop.
If you're ever in a situation where you keep chasing the same person over and over again, remember, that means three other survivors are free to do what they want. You don't ever want that.
Most importantly, have fun!

Yeah 😂
I usually run builds revolving around chases and Flashlight Saves. For example, vault build, built to last, and iron will.
Seems solid to me!

I don't really like wake up, but I don't care about escaping at all, either.
That's entirely fair. There's so many perks but so few slots. I'm running Technician now because it always summons a Meg to help me clear generators faster in the same way that Deliverance summons the killer. This game is cheeky like that.
OP you're opening exit gates properly btw. Without buff perks that's the only way to escape an end game collapse.

Well, if you only delete the GATE, that's pretty advantageous.
Lolol got me there. Wake up is a really good perk. Having a killer walking towards you menacingly when you're trying to unlock a door is the worst because there's never any good loops nearby. Bleh.

I wasn't running any perks to speed up the progress
You're fine man. You have nothing to worry about.
-
They're attempting to parley with you. When a survivor dies they lose their item. That's the big risk for a survivor in the match.
They're basically saying "Hey, lets have peace and just be silly. I gain nothing by escaping."
I generally accept but well, it's on you if you wanna be friendly or not.
-
As someone who likes running the perk Wake Up, you're fine. If you really wanna be an exit gate terror run Wake up, Spine Chill, Resilience and have a buddy run Leader. You can delete an exit gate.
Well. Not literally delete. That wouldn't be advantageous, but you know what I mean.
-
I'd say I ready up when I'm actually ready but what ends up happening is I'll ready up as soon as I enter the lobby and start fiddling with my loadout and equipment.
It's always fun when I put in a meme perk for a second and the match finalizes but the meme perk actually comes in clutch.

Claudie? Is that you?
It's always fun seeing skittish survivors handle jumpscare Myers.
-
Dude if I do a gen the killer might patrol by and see that I'm there! I've gotta crouch behind this prop for a few minutes give me some time to breathe, man!
Okay I'm ready. Wait. Is that the terror radius? I've got some Urban Evasion for this situation. Let me just go back to my hidey hole.
Oops I missed a gen skillcheck. TIME TO RUN RUN RUN AAAAAAAA
-
People die when they are killed.
-
Look I'm not gonna say people attracted to the fog are a deviant bunch...
BUT...
Where was I going with this?
-
Dead by Daylight has had its moments over the years. Survivors didn't used to fall straight down off of a ledge, they used to fall in an arc and that made some fun situations.
Not gonna lie sometimes I like it better when the game is borked. You're a grizzled survivor being pred upon by a vicious killer. You hear a harsh noise in the distance. Pap. Pap!
Suddenly a piece of pallet wood is floating towards the stratosphere. Oh. That's where the killer is. Marvelous.
-
I'm intrigued. Please continue.

I should've clarified, it wasn't in the first 10 seconds of the match they were found, the Doctor had found and chased others and after a few minutes was when they found them and downed them, then the DC happened.
Oh. Well now that's just silly. Sometimes I get dealt a bad hand and go down like a potato but you generally have two more lives left unless something stinky happens. Not saying that Doctor is fun to play against but you just have to be inefficient with your tiles by dropping pallets early and abandoning the loop to go to a different one when he expects you to hold your ground.
So I get it but at the same time, meh.
-
I'm back from a long break so I'm in green right now facing spirits, huntresses and pigs (because I am a magnet to HUNTRESSES AND PIGS).
On one hand it feels good to break an ultra rare add on tunneler with an ebony but on the other hand they are not ready for the power of the locker Dwight.
-
It's a pretty bad feeling when it feels like the killer spawns on you and you're not experienced enough with the game to keep yourself up because you don't know all the tiles yet.
An experienced player that gets met by the killer knows only one thing. No pallets have been thrown yet and all loops are unused. You are not locked in here with a killer. He is locked in here with you.
-
Yesterday on Badham while injured I ran into a house with blocked(breakable) door and two lockers with no escape and a Trickster got me while I was cornered. I felt tricked.
Please remember to break all doors on the map when you're killer. Thanks and have fun.
-
They still fear him.
-
Back before these forums were a thing I remember randomly entering a lobby with and having a 4 man Pizza Dwight with Gay Myers (Luzi) which iirc we made it out alive. I was really into the Pizza Dwight memes back then so my games blurred together a bit.
We're delivering that pizza though all day every day even if we're not in uniform.
-
When I'm killer my games rarely get to end game collapse and I never wanted to stick around as survivor for obvious reasons. Farewell gnome. You hid too well for me.

@Red_Beard said:
What is arrogant behavior to you? I play solo survivor. One game I played against a doctor player. I was clearly the best survivor on the team as the doctor player could not catch me and would have to leave chase to down one of the others in a matter of seconds. I did not flashlight click the killer. I did not emote the killer. I did tbag one of the other survivors because when the second survivor to be killed was down, he ran over to the hook to get the unhook with madness tier 3, only he couldn't get the unhook because the survivor was on death hook. Of course being madness tier 3, he screamed and the killer found him and downed him immediately. The killer slugged him and when I ran by him I tbagged for a laugh.
I finally ran out of resources of course and the killer caught me. He then slugged me the full 4 minutes. Usually I keep my chat shut off, but I was a little curious what he was going to say so I turned it on. He called me a toxic survivor, not because I tbagged the Jake, but because he couldn't catch me. I wasn't trying to be toxic to him, I was just trying to play the game and survive. But he only wanted to believe that I was and I deserved to be slugged for 4 minutes.
There are many different strategies that people don't find fun to play against on both sides. That doesn't make them toxic. Sometimes tbagging and flashlight clicking is the survivor trying to rile the killer up a little to make them make mistakes. It could also be to say "hey come chase me". You don't know what they mean by it until the end game and you can ask them. Why not give them the benefit of the doubt before you decided to exact some type of false vengeance? And those that are doing it to get under your skin aren't going to change. The killer getting tilted and trying to punish them is what they want.
That happens to me a lot. I usually expect to get one hooked or camped because I'm a complete bother to catch once, let alone multiple times. I'm pretty much on autopilot running some tiles too.

Why was the oni one so bad? Yeah it seems adepts were easier to get back then as the emblems are harder to achieve now.
I was still trying to figure him out and you can't really one shot down people when you're doing adepts and I just got sweat squads for two days in a row. You have to hold back and Oni is a killer that screams massacre. I'd 4k and not have enough chaser or SOMETHING would go wrong. It was a mess.
-
I tend to do them when the killer/survivors come out. I had a nightmare of a time getting Oni but they're usually not that bad. I did Trapper/Wraith/Billy/Nurse/Huntress when you just had to unlock their three teachables to get the achievement so I never did them like you guys have to nowadays.
-
Dude I can 4k on a 110% killer just walking up to them and down smashing, I mean...hitting them with my M1 attack. You'll win some and you'll lose some. If one of them has a power you like using then play that killer. Play game to have fun. Best way. Yes.

Imagine a bug where Spirit can chainsaw survivors while phasing. That would be the perfect buff and nerf for her. The chainsaw sound will give away her position while at the same time, compensate for it by allowing her to attack.
*Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I'm not really serious here.
Long, long ago there used to be chainsaw Myers. His torso was missing so you'd just see a white mask chainsaw across the map really fast with next to no terror radius. Some say he still exist in the trial and works on the Hillbilly Space Program to better our world.
-
Survivors have an innate chaotic energy that possesses them during the trial. Try to get them to stand still for more than a minute. They will begin to spin, nod or emote. It is not in their nature.
-
Detective's Hunch helped me on the totems. The hooks and gens just depend on if the killer has other business to attend to and it doesn't decide it really hates you in particular that game.
-
I play solo survivor without perks. A lot of people focus on perks, bloodpoints and all that jazz.
Just bring a brown medkit and run those tiles like you always have.
-
Really to be honest I'm glad a lot of those perks are tied behind DLC. Newbies have access to Bond, Dead Hard, Self Care and Iron Will right out of the box. Knowing where the tiles are means nothing if you don't know how to run them.
Kinda same for killer. You have NOED, Iron Grasp/Brutal Strength and Huntress Lullaby which is like the poor man's Ruin.
Would you really want a base game player throwing a pebble at you? Can you imagine the glint in their eye as they realize the untold power they hold in their hands JUST from sitting in your terror radius?
It would just create monsters. Generator repairing, gate opening monsters.
-
A lot of the Doctor is timing his shocks to prevent a survivor from dropping a pallet, vaulting a pallet or vaulting a window. A doctor that can consistently deny a survivor his defensive options can easily overtake even the most experienced survivors, while his alternate ability reveals all survivors in a radius.
Sounds great right? It's not as easy to do as it sounds. A lot of streamers are playing to entertain their audience and shutting down every loop just isn't exciting to watch. It cuts out mind games and the hide and seek portion out of the game which to a lot of people is the meat of the experience. That doesn't mean Doctor is bad. You may enjoy him.
It really just comes down to practice on the timing when to stop a survivor from vaulting or dropping the pallet. Once you've done that every game is practically the same. Doctor has some pretty cool skins too.
-
My rarest is Adept Trickster, but I don't really think that one's hard. Most common one is 'Where did they go?' because I've never had the stars line up and I play solo.
I think my hardest achievement was Legendary survivor because when I did it you always got reset back to Rank 20 iirc and you had to play 40+ hours of your role to get it up to rank 1 in a month, but on the flip side you just had to score like 10,000 points to pip. (There were a lot less score events also.)
It was pre-nerf Hillbilly and Nurse days where she had three blinks. I didn't have a lot of great perks and I was punching up against my weight class against evangelicals that knew this game backwards and forwards. Dead Hard didn't matter because that Hillbilly was going to one shot you and there TONS of billies. Every match. The higher you got the harder people played.
I went on a marathon and refused to sleep until I got to Rank 1, then I barfed and collapsed. I was still such a noob and I'm too stubborn to lose.
-
You know with perks like Oppression, Overcharge and Hex: Huntress Lullaby it amazes me that Technician isn't SS+ tier yet. Even when you get off your generator before the skill check wheel even spawns you get an ADDITIONAL 3% generator regression. If that isn't amazing I don't know what is.
But if I wanted to buff one of our many great perks available...
Blood Warden now requires you to go to each exit gate prior to them being opened to set up the ability and it leaves a bloody smear on the gate lever.
Nemesis now allows you to pick your obsession but you have have a survivor in line of sight for three seconds and charge it.
Cruel Limits no longer applies to a radius but you have to manually hit every window to block it for the duration of the ability. (Like, with your primary attack.)
Iron Will requires you to unhook someone before it can activate.
Game fixed. A+
-
I use dead hard for distance more than I use it to avoid an attack, but to me Dead Hard is the only perk in the game that will make your character exhausted while spazzing out on the floor.
No other perk can give you that entertainment value.
-
I use Wake Up a lot. Calm Spirit, Detective's Hunch. Technician. I find because of the new gen repair animations spark and give you away at a glance it's not as effective as it used to be, but I do enjoy repairing gens under the killer's nose when he has tunnel vision.
Wake Up is so great. I cannot EVER, EVER be bothered to know where both gates are and remember it, and I hate trying to open a gate and then the killer starts breathing down your neck. It makes the difference.
At a high level killers watch crows fly on the open maps. It's a very underrated stealth tool.
Killer side sometimes I just use random perks just to spice it up. That one perk that counters you? Yeah I'm running it for no reason.
