  • I was born the way I am so if it makes you feel better I don't know what I'm missing. It does disqualify you from military service and other things though and in a world where everyone wants to talk to you for one reason or the other and all you can hear is animal crossing villager noises does get a bit old.

A lot of people in this game do run their routes on autopilot though and loops aren't really that complicated. Once you know the tiles and how they're ran it's just cutting them off. I think the sounds in the game are meant to distract you. Like I don't get off my gen unless I see the killer. A lot of people start randomly hiding when the killer is close. Like, how and why? Is the terror radius directional? How do you know what direction the killer is coming from just on their terror radius? What if he comes up behind you? I don't get it.

Footsteps with varied sounds based on the material you walk on (Got lucky against a Myers in Haddonfield where I was rotating against an pillar on a carpet while he was on wood flooring), regular breathing, Injured breathing, rustling of grass, the "repairing" sound of generators, Healing sounds, Myer's breathing. Did you know Ghostface has a slight whooshing to his cloak that can give him away?

To a deaf person that all sounds crazy. You all live in an entirely different world from me.

  • I'm severely deaf and while I have gotten to Rank 1 as Killer, I do notice when I run noise suppressing perks like Iron Will and Technician etc the killers I vs as survivor do seem to act dumber. I have no idea what noises I'm missing but apparently they help a lot.

I have trouble playing as Spirit and rely on grass moving and intuition to figure out where the survivor is, but I do still manage to down people.

I'm immune to perks like Huntress Lullaby etc, and I think my difference in tracking people does throw a lot of survivors off since I'm not listening for breathing or whatever. I'm watching you run and plotting your route before you do.

I wouldn't mind subtitles though. Apparently hearing gives some of you superpowers.

  • Someone today played a RPD badge as an offering and we got Thompson House as our trial map. Hillbilly space program now has S.T.A.R.S.

if trickster so bad, why is he hot ?

He makes a very fair assessment. I've always thought Distressing was better anyway. People start ignoring the terror radius after a while and immersion claudette is perma-paralyzed.

  • Treat Nemesis like you do Huntress as pallets and you'll go farther. I don't mind Nemesis, he's cheeky but he does take 3 hits to down you.

  • I kneel.png

Psh, Nemesis kneels before me. I use offerings like Bloody Party Streamers and get DOUBLE.

(On a serious note I did notice Nemesis was getting more BP, but I just thought it was a scoring error. Wise men will slap BBQ on the big boi.)

  • It's more motivation for the immersion players to stop crouching around at the start of the map and do something, but just because you see a survivor doesn't mean you can catch them.

  • I always play solo. It just puts a lot of responsibility on you alone and it's really easy to get hit by the bystander effect.

I enjoy that though. If the game is going poorly I just play even more recklessly than usual to get yeeted into the sky. However sometimes that recklessness is rewarded with an escape. You never know.

    ...and I like that.

  • The way the game is now it's balanced around survivors having two available health states. We even have a killer now that takes three hits to down you. Self Care is my fallback safety perk, but long ago Nurses Calling was the answer to it. I'd be down for more healing perks and more healing detection perks. It's core to the game.

  • I spawn in with survivors that usually know what they're doing. I haven't gotten an immersed gamer in a while. However today I had two killers ragequit after being ran by another teammate today so teamies on my skill level is kinda rough.

Really though to be honest I wouldn't mind getting matched with the worst loopers in the universe if they did generators. Just get on the gen and I'm happy. You too. Get on it! Aaah!

  • I have them all. Only my Trapper/Dwight are P3 with all perks though. I generally get every character up to level 50 and when I run them out of add ons or items I prestige them. Whatever perks they get, they get.

This leads to me using a lot of weird perks and meme builds. I don't even play that seriously unless I'm doing a rift challenge or something that requires me to do something specific. I'm very invested, but at the same time not invested at all.

  • Chadzombies.png

    I'm still a little tilted.

  • It would be nice if the zombie flesh muffled the sound explosion dropping a pallet normally makes. I'd use it then.

Yes I know the zombie falls down on Nemesis' screen and he can see it without the explosion.

  • I got called toxic for crouching a few times next to a Leon character since I was Jill. I was like 'Yeah, Leon and Jill escaping from Nemesis together' and apparently on his end he thought I was being toxic.

I was tryharding a bit during the actual game but it made me sad.

  • Honestly one of my pet peeves as killer is having a survivor 360 around me so when I hit them they bolt off in a random direction. Most of my hunting is visual so it disorients me.

As survivor though you've just gotta get into the 360 mindset. When Dead by Daylight is loading you've gotta get out of your chair, grab a nearby flashlight and click it a bunch while spinning around. It's the only way to get to Rank 1. Trust me.

  • It's so you can run into his zombies faster.

  • I did it a long time ago when I think Feng was the newest survivor. Hatch didn't spawn unless a certain number of gens were done etc.

I'd just walk around the outside of the map and look in. It's easier on maps without a bunch of lockers like the swamp maps, but don't be afraid to hook survivors even doing this challenge. Someone has to come in for the save, just make sure you allow them to actually do so.

    It drops the item definitely.

I can't confirm if it drains percentage over time it's on the ground or just deletes a certain percent of charges. However it doesn't destroy the item anymore.

This is the counter to brown medkits we've all been waiting for. Too many games I've seen a survivor with a medkit for that one heal they might need. Now you hit them, take away one or two charges and now they'll not only spend time healing, they won't even get a full health state anymore!

    How embarrassing!

  • Chadzombies.png

Hey do you guys wanna trade zombies? I want yours.

  • Chadzombies.png

That's amazing. Nemesis basement is as strong as Hag or Leatherface. Oh my god every game.

I was just in a match and it made me drop my item not lose a percentage.

Oh I'm not in game yet, I looked it up here

Franklin's Demise is a Unique Killer Perk. It is unique to The Cannibal which can be taught to other killers at level 40, which it can then be taught to the other Killers. Franklin's Demise is a reference to the character named Franklin Hardesty, a Character in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise who was killed early into the film.

So I apologize if I'm wrong. I'll log into the game when the patch stops downloading.

Edit: Patch downloaded and I got into the game. Franklin's still makes survivors drop their items. OP is crazy. Carry on.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Where is information about the change because I haven't seen or heard anything about this perk being changed. Also I hate this perk and think it should be removed from the game.

Items carried by survivors lose a % of their charge on hit instead of dropping the item.

As someone that never ever went back for his item I'm down with the change.

  • One time I was playing survivor with three other people and a killer spawned in the map WITH US.

    ...I took that personally.

  • I really, really like Soul Guard. The unbreakable during hex time is good BUT the real kicker is when you get slugged and your teammate is being chased by the killer but wants to give you a rub to get you back on your feet. Normally what would happen is you'd get hit by the killer and go down instantly, but with Soul Guard you get a borrowed time effect. That isn't reliant on hexes.

It can change a game real quick.

  • If you're the last one alive just go stand by an exit door. When the killer closes the hatch open the gate. Killers always look for the hatch, but they never scout the exit doors.

Of course there's a 50% chance they'll be breathing down your neck in the next ten seconds but eh, you take what you can get.

As for the penalty I've never had to deal with it, but I'm also pretty casual at the moment with my playtime.

  • Sounds like the final girl in every horror movie ever. Someone could introduce perks that do something like that.

  • Pros: You have a free, easy to use and understand killer that is viable at all ranks right out of the box.

Cons: Snarling noises and chicken legs.

To be fair since D1 of the store they've always made it clear you'll get the exclusive item for buying the DLC only and not through getting it in the DBD Store.

Yeah it's not a huge deal and I have the money to buy it if I REALLY really wanted it, but, eh. Y'know?

  • I like it. Just a giant black question mark with entity claws around it. I'd personally want it to give a bonus to bloodpoints or something but y'know just it being an option is fine.

  • I do miss being able to chat with other PC players but it is nice to have faster games. I'm one of those people that minimizes the game and hovers his mouse over the Dead by Daylight icon on the toolbar to see the game in a tiny window while I watch youtube vids. Woe to the videos that have to constantly get paused but woo to the vidya gamin'.

  • I'd be keen on them changing it up a bit. I bought Ghostface with Auric cells and didn't get his special item off the Steam store due to it. They need to finagle some things.

  • Nemesis to unlock 3 perk slots and go adept, then 50. Then Jill since it's her game and finally Leon. Kinda making a Jill sandwich there but I'm sure nobody will notice.

  • I always exhaust my survivor or killers inventory and don't level them past 50 before I prestige. It gives me only a handful of perks to play with so I meme it up in ways I wouldn't consider on my main P3 survivor or killer and I'm thankful for that. (Sometimes my survivors don't get self care! Medkits!)

Plus it feels good to be in full P3 gear and go down 10 seconds into the trial. Nothing like it.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

Because he sucks on large maps and tall loops. He counters running in a straight line.

But...but...that's the survivor strategy! What else are they supposed to do!?

  • Traps go snippy snap on the ankle. There are no bears in the game.

    Yet.

(It sounds like Iri stone though)

  • As the chase progresses, the survivor feels less fear and becomes empowered.

Thirty seconds into the chase the survivor starts glowing yellow and can now punch and kick the killer into oblivion, but it exhausts the survivor. If they're already exhausted, it cost a health state in the struggle.

The killer was going to spend a long time with you anyway, what's another 20 seconds getting beat on by your victim?

  • I like to imagine you can double depip as survivor if you miss every single skillcheck, drop every pallet as soon as you see it and run the killer to your team as soon as they touch a generator.

You can't, but I like to imagine it. Someone playing so, so bad that the game is just like nah. Hasten your journey to Rank 20 lad.

  • Bring back our lovable nerd!

  • My green rank survivor has been placed against Red rank killers and with red rank survivors all day today. Since I got back from a break and double pipped my way up to low purple...yeah, I'm where I should be.

My main killer is low tier (Trapper) and while I'm 'okay' with the others I stomp green and under in my sleep. I've been facing purples/reds.

MMR seems to be placing me appropriately but I'm going to miss being a memelord if I can't find any potatoes for my garden.

  • My mortal enemy has always been Shelter Woods. The best part of them always adding more maps is that it decreases the chance of getting Shelter Woods.

  • It was a different game early on. It was hide and seek where you'd try to do your objectives without getting caught, but if you did get caught you could be VERY squirrely. Those add ons were there to bite survivors that dared show their face and there was always the risk a killer could have those add ons.

Things are a lot less random now. Even if the killer has powerful add ons you pretty much know what you're getting. Is it bad? Good? Debatable, but it is what it is.

  • If I'm playing seriously I'll look up, but usually I just spin my mouse around a lot and swing at them. If they somehow get a save during that chaos then I think they earned it.

  • As long as killers don't interrupt my generator repairs and survivors go on the hook like they should I'm okay with whatever they do.

  • It knows.png

I was away from the game for a while but I'm usually a red rank killer/survivor. How am I supposed to torment baby killers like this? It's putting me right where I belong :<

  • That would be cool for recovering using Unbreakable or Soul Guard. I really like how it is right now where the survivor stares at the screen like 'oh god why did you pick me for this' because it's kinda funny, but it'd be neat to get a random animation playing like 20% of the time when you start up.

It would also give a visual cue for when you're starting with other players and they just stare into space. If you see them doing the game starting animation you know they're not in control of their character yet.

  • His smile and optimism, gone.

  • @Satelit said:

Seems like Pig needs a new nerf

    This.

  • With my experience with the game it's hard to be actually anxious about facing off a killer, but the Huntress still puts me on guard the most. I'm hard of hearing so while other killers and their terror radius don't matter because I'm watching out for them, I always know the Huntress is nearby with her hum, and it's not directional anymore so you all get to suffer like I do.

That's not why she's scary though. On top of being everywhere at once, have you ever been sniped from across the map with a hatchet while you're on a gen? You know the Nemesis perk Lethal Pursuer? People are going to get hit at the start of the map.

'Okay what killer am I facing this time?' HATCHET TO THE FACE

At low ranks Huntress is fine and not much of an issue. Red rank Huntresses though? They're up there with old school back revving Hillbilly games. It doesn't matter how vigilant you are, Huntress may decide to check a gen from 50 meters away with a long shot hatchet. She may defend her hook with a moonshot hatchet. It doesn't matter if you're ready or not.
