Don't worry about Doctor covering most of the map, he's on the list of killers to be change/reworked to be more "fun" to verses as survivor.
Anything that's annoying about him is guaranteed to be removed once that happens ?
I'm really excited to see what they do with him, I find him so boring to play and just annoying to play against, also Freddy's Dream Pallets are more powerful than Doc's so hopefully the changes will make them work just like Freddy's and force Survivors to use them.

I see, I am mistaken, then that makes 70% of the add-ons underwhelming, but still, not all add-ons need to be OP to be good, through.
I personally like how some of the add-ons are geared towards special effects, sure some of them are bit meh but auto-blink, making people scream, tracer blink, those are cool! If the Screaming one had more range then it would be more useful or usable anyway, if more Killers got add-ons like this then the game could be geared more towards having fun instead of feeling competitive.
Most Killers are add-on dependent but if they weren't then they could use more interesting and actually engaging add-ons.
Also I don't play Nurse so I won't be making any actual comments towards good and bad when it comes to her, just observations concept wise; she's not my style.
-
I'm here still hoping it's the Alchemist lol
I also want the father as a Survivor but if he's a Survivor, why is a sword missing? Who took it?
-
Oh dear Entity, bless us with STBFL and Corrupt Intervention
Hear this plea as we offer our devotion
Bless us with power so that we may bless you in return
We are devoted in our eternal pain for death is not an escape.
-
I've been trying to get this map all day so I can take a pic <3 I'm excited for whatever this turns out to be.
-
Even if I dislike that Survivor I will still try my best to save them, someone has to be the hero if everyone else is a piece of #########. Unless I have a Daily or I'm Rancor lol that person can die a thousand times over 🤣
-
So from what I've heard Pale Rose came with Hag and Grim Pantry came out around Leatherface so they said just consider that his map, usually they don't just add random maps without a Killer, though I would love if they started doing this.
The leaked sounds do sound kind of temple-ish and kind of something you'd hear with the dead, I personally think the teaser is a misdirection or something else entirely that we aren't thinking of as I can't see anything of Rin's family relating to a Killer that has those noises.
-
After reading some things here in the comments, maybe he'll be a Survivor? I think it would be very interesting to see a real dynamic between a Killer and a Survivor they actually know that isn't licensed.
My only hope from this is that we get another map set in the Estate because it's beautiful. I want it to be another indoor map so it can focus purely on the mansion itself and not the garden, Japanese architecture is unique and the style is very pleasing to look and and wander in so this is my main hope from this.
According to the lore, father snapped out of his rage and went back to normal, probably depressed. If he becomes a Survivor taken by the Entity then this will be him after the tragedy he committed, he would be a different person, we would see character development for once as that really isn't something that's happened in this game before.

I don't like your idea of not running more than 1 totem
fair enough, you bring up good points. There needs to be a fix for totems and its a difficult area to find a good solution.
Last thing though, your Pig buff looks too strong. If the timer goes down no matter what with nothing stopping it means the timer has be LONG
There has to be a good middle zone where the timer is generous enough to allow some mistakes but short enough that if a generator isnt done fast enough people heads start popping. If you think the pig is still too strong then maybe add in this one additional pig idea that I didn't bring it up in my post because it was too extreme. i thought a cool but large change for the pig would be to get rid of hooks for her all together and rely on the head pop mechanic entirely. Eliminate bleed out timers when wearing the trap and you have a game mode where the pig is just slowing you down to run the clock out as a mass slug fest helps the survivors more than the killer. Its just a matter of finding that goldilocks zone for the time. Obviously if everyone goes down its a game over instantly.
Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me, if and when I make a 2.0 list i will definitely take your thoughts into consideration.
Interesting Pig idea, I think if Survivors got an automatic Unbreakable when they face Pig this would be really cool. Even if Pig slugs everyone someone else can pick themselves up, they can still pick each other up, the problem of course would be the timer, too small everyone dies, too big no one dies lol

He probably doesn't need a complicated setup, he just lacks map control. I had an idea, if he gets a hook/long chase he builds up a miasma caravan bombardment like Freddy's teleport that just covers the area around a gen a few seconds with his poison, but it can cause deep wounds if they don't leave. It would play the caravan music a couple of seconds to give survivors a heads up to either get the gen done or leave temporarily.
That's actually pretty cool
-
Ok near the bottom in changes from PTB, they decided to remove the Blink indicator from the 3 Blink add-on. It wasn't a bug they just felt it was too powerful....for some reason. Not like you'd need a clarification that you'll definitely be going through the window or anything. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/99318/pc-patch-notes-3-3-1-mid-chapter#latest
-
Didn't they remove the Blink Indicator from her 3 Blink add-on? I thought that was a bug they patched out recently?
-
I know that both are bad but very fun.
I try to make them fair by only using a Mori from Devour Hope or if I find a Key in a chest randomly. Of course there is really no way to make a fair Key play unless you're the last Survivor and the Hatch is shut but that may not happen so you might as well use it.

@HatCreature here’s that build I mentioned. This is from today. Inspired me to start running it again. I’m 100% certain David & Claudette are SWF. The Nea might be part of the same group. I’m doubtful the Kate was, but the other others were very quick to attempt coming to her aid, so it might have been a 4 player squad. Who knows.
15 minutes, only 2 gens done. Goes to show how much more time survivors will waste to find TTS rather than Ruin. Ruin only affects gens. TTS + Knockout combo indirectly slows gens and heavily screws altruism. A double whammy.
Please note.
- this was green ranks.
- i’m a bit of a muppet publicly sharing just often survivors can successfully 360 me.
- BUT! I haven’t ran this build for ages, and simply knowing how to be methodical with it still proves a point.
I laughed so hard at that Nea, those are the ones I enjoy chasing the most ? That build is awesome, I gotta try that out now. I've been holding off on unlocking 3rd Seal until I unlock the good perks on my preferred Killers first so I don't crowd the Bloodweb with meh but I'm starting to change my mind on this one. Also, I'm Rank 10 and all I face are Purples lol I want Green Survivors ?

That's awesome :) love the commitment

It amplifies Knockouts effectiveness immensely. Being able to ensure the first downed survivor cannot see auras really screws with SWF on comms. And then that continues to domino as more survivors become blind.
OMG that's genius! For some reason it wasn't clicking that the dude on the ground can't see his teammates ?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I’ve had fun occasionally running Coulrophobia, Knockout, Deerstalker, and TTS. Unless Empathy is at play, it’s bloody hilarious from that very first down that they can’t tell where their SWF teammates are, and their teammates can’t see where they’ve been downed. Then I try and quickly inflict blindness on all the rest of them ASAP.
This tends to be MUCH more of a nuisance for the survivors than Ruin as its tremendously more difficult for them to power through and attempt to communicate to each other where they are downed. So you get great gen slow down occurring while they frantically try and find the totem and each other. Sure it’s subject to similar problems as Ruin (spawning right on top of it), but they’re much MUCH more unlikely to ignore it when BOTH Knockout & TTS is at play.
I’ll normally use Kerosene Can as back up for when TTS totem is found and cleansed.
Third Seal fun, I do love Knockout but never really gave any attention to Third Seal, I might try it out because I use the same strategy on Freddy with Knockout.

Ok, after 47 years I finished reading both the rework and the comment. The first thing I would like to point out is that Doctor's Shock Stun lasts a little over 2 seconds, but since it is easier to get it I figured make it last a little less on Clown. I certainly am not the best Clown out there, but I would consider myself "that good" player (I only really play him). I didn't really say any addons had issues, so I'm a little confused about the first thing you said. Also, The Flask of Bleach is a nice addon, but I haven't really used it a lot since I hit a lot of direct bottle tosses and the extra hindrance is almost nothing.
Now, about your rework. While I do appreciate the ideas, I am not fond of time based mechanics like the Anesthesia one. It is hard to master, and a simple direct power boost would be better in my opinion.
? yeah my posts are really long because I'm a writer. There are a lot of times where I write an entire discussion then just delete it because I know people have short attention spans.
-
I personally don't think his add-ons are the problem, I feel his power just isn't enough like they just didn't give him enough when he threw him out the door. I made my own rework for him here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/102851/clown-buff-for-fun#latest
Stopping Survivors from vaulting a pallet completely for 2 seconds is stronger than what Doctor can do, Doctor can shock you and stop you from Vaulting but it's less than 2 seconds, just enough time to switch modes and smack em. Now if you get someone in your cloud and hit them, I might be wrong but 2 seconds might be long enough to hit them again if they stay to try and Vault, that's their fault of course but the point is the time might be too long.
Everyone says that the Flask of Bleach is his best add-on and I agree, the extra slowdown is incredibly helpful is the difference between getting a hit and just barely missing the tip. Having that in base would be helpful but it wouldn't be enough to cause map pressure. Clown is good in chases but he lacks a presence on the map itself, unless you're just that good please give me tips.
I don't use the Feather add-ons, I don't see the purpose in throwing bottles faster since in my case it would mean I would miss my bottles sooner than later lol I've been using the reloading while moving add-ons because I'm low on the normal reload speed glove and cork, I'm low on Bleach so I'm using the 5% vol

I've been catching up on my reading :)

So Knockout and the ''Blindness'' status effect is the weakest status in the game because it is countered by SWF, it is only powerful against solo players and therefore makes it weak.
As a Solo Survivor I don't see Knockout very often, yeah we get slugs but rarely ever Knockout. It never really hurts the team because no one uses the perk the way I do. The perk is good, it creates pressure on Survivors and to be honest it isn't really that bad if that Survivor just crawls towards his team mate, they'll eventually get spotted if that person is just doing a Gen.
If this perk is only strong against solo players but weak against SWF then it is fair for solo and unfair against SWF. Either Blindness gets a buff or it gets taken out of the game because if solo players like you and I can make Knockout completely worthless then it shouldn't exist.
Knockout is NOT the problem
-
I had the same thing happen, my team was bad, DCs, suicide and I escaped by Hatch, game was over in 2 minutes, De-Pip. I did 1 Gen and I don't remember getting chased, I didn't have time to do anything else other than watch my team kill themselves and then escape.
-
I think it's possible, The Alchemist, according to his story, was one of the people who just gave up and was outcast by The Entity to non-existence but it looked like it gave him a second chance and managed to evoke some motivation out of him by playing on his desire for power. If this happened to the Entity then this can happen to the other Survivors we haven't seen.
Also FYI, those Survivor quotes are actually from the Devs, those are their names.
-
Keys & Moris are an instant Game Over, they are both fun but also bad for the game because of how easy they are.
Devour Hope is the best example of a fair Mori, 5 unhooks and you can Mori someone, if you spread the damage equally then either 1 or 2 people are on their death hook and that's fair game as the match has gone on a while to get to that point.
Maybe if Moris had a Total Hook Counter then it would allow you to Mori Survivors, this would of course mean Devour needs changes and that the Emblem system does too. As for Keys, I made a thread to get rid of the Hatch here https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/102075/alternative-to-hatch-how-to-get-rid-of-it-while-still-being-fun#latest
I only had 1 person comment on it and we swapped some suggestions, I didn't edit the post because it didn't get enough feedback from the 64 people who saw it lol
-
Did anyone get 2 Hooked or 1 Hooked? Sounds like you got Max Gatekeeper but what about Devout? Also as Trapper I doubt you got much Deviousness unless that 4k was because of that.
-
@Raptorrotas said:
Probably because that'd mean redesigning the customisation page
Other point might be because there are some abilities that simply arent tools but only floaty special effects, or nothing all.
- The Shape, GF, Legion, Spirit have no replaceable special effects, not even from their own pov.
- Plague needs to stay color coded to identify her current state, cant give her rainbow puke.
- Doctor's electricity might be replaceable
- Nurse only has those particles in her left hand and the white movement blur of her blinks.
- Hag... Got her triangle on the floor. Much visible , such wow. Demogog's portals seem similiar, but lose their flair if replaced.
- Clowns shouldnt want to see their bottles that often (only can see them clearly when reloading, which sucks)
- Wraith, Trapper, Billy, Pig, Bubba, are the only killers who could have " cool" replacement tools that arent just glowing special effects like doc or nurse.
I was slightly disappointed that Plague's Blight cosmetic didn't make her Corrupt Purge orange, I think if they were going to give her a color change it would only be for Corrupt, that way people would know that something that isn't nasty green is probably bad for them.
-
Yeah I understand and feel the same way, I got the BP this time but the next Rift I'll be a lot a lot more critical; it mostly has junk I'll never use then I won't get it. Also the charms do need a little more creativity than what we got, we got stones with vague symbols on them, that don't look good hanging from hooks. The Sadistic Puppet and Claudette charms though, that's what I'm talking about, more charms that have work put in them, to be fair, all the Trapper and Claudette charms could have been in the free track and the more detailed ones like the Puppet should have been taking up the Premium track; you know value for money and such because so far those two and the ones at the very end are the only quality charms.
-
Dedicated servers is probably the issue, it's been giving weird hits lately with pallets and windows, a while ago in the PTB it was even worse.

The list of characters that you ignore.. Even survivors which are all the same if you change their perks
Well I transferred from the PS4 to the PC, on the PS4 I have everything unlocked and even have several P3s. When I switched to the PC I knew what I liked and I knew what I didn't so this is all from experience. On the PS4 I mained Tapp and Nea for Survivor and I switched through all the Killers periodically, on the PC I'm starting over and now I'm getting into David and Claudette for Survivor as well. As for Killer I realize that the types of playstyles I enjoy are pretty focused on a few select Killers, I enjoy stealth and I enjoy juggling Survivors. I can list why I don't like most of the Killers but I can list dozens of reasons why I enjoy a few select.
Trapper, Freddy, Pig, Clown, Spirit, Legion, Ghostface, those are the ones I enjoy the most so far. I don't really see it as a waste of time since I focus on so few but more like saving time by knowing what I like. Also since I work and live at a motel wasting my limited time on something I don't enjoy is counterproductive.

Wow...you don't play so much of the game you paid for..
This referring to my Tier level or that I don't play those Killers mentioned?
-
So is this kind of like Bond and Empathy but purely for chases, this wouldn't be a bad perk to be honest. If I am reading this right it means that for 60 seconds after being unhooked you cannot be Moried which is basically D-Strike for someone with a Mori, it also gives you Aura reading when someone is in a chase, this perk is sick, dude.
Everyone complains about Moris and this would fix that problem and also give you the same information SWF groups have, this is exactly what the Devs said they want to do with Solo players and bridge the gap. As far as I am concerned this perk needs to be in the game as it meets all the criteria.
-
@megaweenieman said:
I am in the exact same boat but with the nurse. She was the first character I got all tier 3 perks on but never bothered to prestige her. The only other killer with all perks is spirit, whom I prestiged shortly after her release.
I currently have all killer P3 50 except for the nurse and I keep changing my mind everytime I look at my killer roster because she is the only one without the III mark on her photo ?
At that point, if it was me I would just do it to have some consistency. But then again new Killers will be coming of course and if you don't P3 them then you're ok since you have a whole bunch with no Prestige items and a whole bunch with.
-
Legion, the best group in the fog, maybe one day they'll pick up a guitar and start shredding.
-
@Volfawott and Johnny respectively, howddily doodily. That was definitely a hit and strange, you can see that in the gif Nea still had the Exposed status and it went away when he wiped his weapon so that should have been a down.
-
You can see that the Exposed effect wore out once she was out of the locker, it only lasts 3 seconds once they exit the cloud so basically once she was in the locker the 3 seconds started. It is strange that she came out injured though.
-
@Tarvesh said:
You might like this video I did on reworking Pig to make her more viable.
Not bad changes, I do like that like every Killer in the game she can reload her power, why isn't this a thing? You don't see Huntress just running around with no Hatchets once she's used them all, she reloads at a locker. Activating once they're put on makes them more dangerous and being able to take them off at their first box won't matter because you can just put another one on. Her Ultra Rare sounds pretty cool too as it acts just like her traps are right now, it punishes you doing a Gen.
Also FYI they recently made it where Ghostface also has a tiny delay in his TR going away when he activates stealth, this is actually a buff as it confuses Survivors into thinking he's run off somewhere else rather than ''he just went into stealth''.

Making the first box wrong automatically feels cheap to me and doesn’t fit with the saw theme.
Yeah I think we all agree rule set no 2 should be base kit. Getting traps off before it even triggers makes her powerless.
Really? Have you seen Saw 3 where all the traps are rigged to fail? Having the first box be a dud is exactly what Amanda would do. As a Survivor if you are expecting the first box to fail then you know that one of the other 3 must have the key and you know you're wasting time with this box and it's meant to waste time. Sure it does feel cheap I totally agree with that, the system they have now is pretty fair and might actually be better than making it a percentage chance but we'll never know until they let us test it ourselves or at least show us the results of them testing it this way.

Archives are very good, more blood points, skins, charms, challenges at which you can adapt your build or creat a new one!
I like the Archives but they are by no means a secondary objective, not one bit at all and they do not contribute to actual gameplay. You still do Gens and you still get gen rushed, someone needing to loot 5 chests does not change that.
I do love the charms though :) I'm really excited to see what else they come up with as it'll be fun to really personalize them.

I did a test in KYFs with Bamboozle and without...
It takes 2 seconds-(Ish) without bamboozle and the same goes for with Bamboozle... So no, it doesn't increase the vault speed in Feral Frenzy... I'm pretty sure they made it that way so people wouldn't get angry about the vault speed again... (Since that's one of the things people hated about Pre-Nerf Legion.)
Imagine Bamboozle + Pre-nerf Legion vaulting... jeez...
Thank you for all your wisdom, I appreciate all the help :)

@FireHazard said:
Focus on the window, most if not ALL Survivors will not use the "god pallet" because they're afraid they can't use it effectively... or they won't waste it for another Survivor that can!
Or, they do know how to use it but won't until they know they'll get hit in a long loop. But, if general gameplay they won't drop it in the first 5 seconds of the chase... unless they're just playing... not the greatest...
Anyways, you should focus on the window and how Survivors loop around it. For one, a Survivor will usually loop around the other doorway into the shack and vault the window... and continue this loop or go around the other sides of the shack to confuse and extend the loop...
For you, if you're following from behind than you can easily figure out how to maneuver this window for an easy down or hit.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/027/Z9SCD6S1HEX0.png
In this basic diagram of the shack, you can see that most Survivors will come from the top doorway at the lop left hand side... than loop at the window and either go around to the bottom and loop through the window again... or have a better chance of extending the loop by going from the top and continuing the basic window loop...
For you, you'll want to basically mind-game this doorway... Since most Survivors do this (If not all...) They rely on the red light you emit to know where you're going to go within the shack... what you want to do is if you know they'll vault the window... than you should face the doorway while moonwalking from the top to the right hand side corner and meet them on the other side for a hit...
Sometimes you'll get around the corner faster enough and hit them... other times they'll have a bit of room left to use the pallet... but most of the time if this is at the beginning of mid through the match.. they won't use the pallet at all 100% they won't...
So you shouldn't "respect" the pallet and should always go for the hit... even if it looks like they'll drop it... it gets the pallet out of the game if they do... and if they don't it's a free hit.
note
Some Survivors will fake the vault and know this mind-game... for you... you'll want to pier into the room to see if they're looking behind them... if they're not while vaulting the window than 9 times outta 10 they're going to vault it... if they look behind them while they're right next to the window than they're most likely going to fake the vault...
An easy way to tell is if the Survivor has an item in their hand and it vanishes while they're "sliding" towards the window (If they're at an angle they'll slide towards it to vault.) When a Survivor vaults, their item vanishes from their hand and depending on if they're at and angle they'll "magnetize" to the window and vault it... knowing this is a good way to know if they'll vault the window OR they're faking it out despite not looking behind them or not...
If they don't have an item than you use your basic judgement with the tips above...
One more thing
Some Survivors will vault from the inside of the shack and than loop around the entire shack from either side of the window... you should also be aware of this by keeping your eyes on them at all times...
If they vault from outside it's an easy hit... and you'll 9 times out of 10 hit them despite them fully vaulting the window by simply swinging at the window near the end of their mid-vault or slow vault...
tl;dr
... just uh... idk how to shorten this...
Just focus on mind-gaming the window, if they vault from outside its a guaranteed hit... (depends how close you're.)
If they vault from inside keep your eyes on them while moon-walking to the other side (Outside.) of the window and hit them... this will display your red light to them... and they'll think you're coming into the shack when you're not...
Don't be afraid to swing at the god pallet... most Survivors will NEVER waste the god pallet even if they know they'll get hit... if a Survivor wastes the pallet within the first 5 seconds of the loop or mid-way in the match than... they're either not good at that loop or they're playing in a ... not great way...
You can easily tell a "Survivors skill" because of this... since most Survivors will NOT EVER waste the pallet unless they've looped around the shack for a good chunk of time...
But that's not a 100% way to determine a survivors skill...
I'm trying to visualize this, so someone comes in from the top left and I'm behind them but not close enough yet and they go for the window, I'm guessing I go through the window too and follow them back to the door. From here I'm assuming I follow them and peak into the shack to see if they're looking behind them, if they aren't I moonwalk back outside towards the window to get a hit. If they are looking behind them, I keep chasing? From there maybe they'll go through the window again as I've had happen, and I guess I keep following them?
My first instinct if they're looking behind them is to fake them out by making them think I'm stupid and moonwalk back out of the room as if I'm going towards the window from outside but then moonwalk back through the door to catch them off guard. Might not work as that's pretty silly, a lot of the mindgames I try just don't work lol
One thing I notice I have a problem with at the shack is when they don't do the window loop but the much longer loop on the other side. Now I know for a fact it's longer so I should get a hit but what happens is that when they take that longer loop it is always when I am further behind them when I should be which guarantees I don't catch up fast enough to get the hit despite the length of the loop. At that point I just don't know what to do, I guess force them to take the window?
-
I thought this was a joke at first but you're serious.
I do wish Survivors had more to do than just Gens and get chased or save friends. We've been asking for 2nd Objectives for a while and they gave that to us in the form of The Archives.......yay, exactly what everyone asked for...

I'm on 23 as I just completed 23 and starting 24.
I am curious to see how far I can get without the Tomes but to be honest most of the cosmetics in the Rift might not ever be used.
The Trapper skin is bleh, I don't play Wraith and it's bleh, I don't play Hag and I don't play Nurse. Meg's outfit is bleh and I don't play Jake or Dwight.
The only cosmetics I'll be using are for Nea, David, and Claudette, ever since the new graphics update she has looked really good and I want to play Claudette for once.
-
From what I remember before they mentioned the Freddy rework is that they were going in order of release for the Killers. Obviously they skipped Nurse as they didn't see her as a problem and went to Freddy because he made the most noise. Nurse was next as she was second in making the most noise, now back on track they have Doctor. Next up will probably be Huntress unless the community is 100% sure she's fine as is, if she's good they'll move on to Leatherface and Hillbilly probably at the same time.
Saying all that, if everyone makes enough noise about Legion then they might skip a few Killers to help a Killer that really needs it.
