Thanks for this information... to make sure I understand, are you suggesting I rank up other Killers to unlock their perks so they are available in the shrine? I have two pages of perks, but the second page only has one perk on it with several empty slots available.
So if your Leatherface is at 50 and all your other Killers are at 1, you can't use any of their perks on Leatherface. If you get Hag up to level 35 you can unlock Hex: Ruin and then when you level up your Leatherface one more time Ruin will show up in his Bloodweb.
You can skip the whole process by buying perks in the Shrine that works exactly the same way. Also, if you unlock a perk and then that perk shows up in the Shrine, if you buy it again it will give you Blood Points.

The grab thing is particularly annoying when your stuck there. You SHOULDVE gotten a hook, or at least a hit...but instead, they're long gone uninjured, and your holding your hand over a gen...
I legit lost a match because of this problem, they were uninjured and that grab would have bought me lots of time to use Pop or get someone off a Gen but because it was late in the match losing that one chase cost me the whole thing.

it's not hard or insanely long to get to perma tier 3
Most of the times Myers gets tiers III when 2 gens remain, that's a lotta time.
Once in that there's no counter play
Looping maybe? Not camping the pallet and pre-puling it down? Also gen rushing is the counter, if you're playing with stupid team mates who give free stalk, then that's not an addon issue.
Also nothing is worse then being randomly chosen to be the dead player because guess who got picked last for the little bit of stalk he needed.
If you're smart enough you can easily tell when Myers got the infinte tier III (or the infinite+tombstone), so you should be more aware of what you're facing
@HatCreature if you're a Killer main why are you complaining?
Spoiler alert, he's not a killer main.
Aw shucks I was trying to lead him on lol I was setting up my smart ass replies 😅
-
Goodness, I had these guys make it so obvious what they were doing, try hard sweaty SWF bitches. I would hook them and I just KNEW someone was nearby so every time I hooked someone I would take a quick look around and bam someone and sometimes everyone was right there. I wasn't camping, it was a tactical maneuver based off previous behavior. It was very entertaining to watch them fail so hard because they just couldn't walk away, they just had to be helpful, poor babies.
Then tonight I had a match go sideways real fast, lost chases, lost gens I was trying to keep, I Hooked a Nea in the Basement just as the last Gen was done and I saw 1 person on a door with BBQ but everyone else was invisible so I camping was the right move. I was hoping I could get more than 1 down as they went for the save but it just didn't happen sadly.
Camping is a valid strategy, sometimes it's necessary and sometimes it is 100% unnecessary and it is those times that make you a bad Killer.
-
It's just like when you grab someone and the animation just stops and they get away or when you kick a Gen and you have to hold it for a very long time. I think Clown had a similar issue like this with his bottles but they fixed it, it really sucks that Pig keeps getting the short end of the stick.
-
I'm replying to this one instead of the one with the description since this one has replies.
Yes, infinite Tier 3 Mikey is difficult and that's why they made it hard to achieve, can he be countered? Well you implement the same strategies you would ever Killer, every Killer in this entire game, I say this because he has no real uniqueness to his that makes him differen't. For example he has no speed like Spirit or Billy, no long range weapons, he just walks up to you and smacks you, the only counter to him is exactly what you would do for Ghostface, Trapper, Pig, every Killer who just swings forward.
I personally hate how boring Mikey's add-ons are, also if you're a Killer main why are you complaining? Why are you asking how to counter yourself, in your other post you say everyone says Gen rush him but that sounds like someone playing Survivor would say. I understand if you care about Survivors but I ask again, why do you care?
-
I love this perk and run it most of the time and it sucks because it doesn't actually DO anything, I can replace it with anything and I would be more of a help to my team. If they combined WGLF with ''We'll Make It'' then it would help you with healing the person you just unhooked and it also encourages the player to stick around and get more points to stack by healing that Survivor you hopefully didn't farm.
Getting stacks for this perk is easier than getting them for MoM but rarely do I ever get 4, my average is 2 and if I get 3 I am ecstatic because wow. They said they were working on Protection Hits and they have plans for WGLF so maybe whatever plans they have for Mettle can transfer over to this perk; depending on what they are of course.
-
I personally, as a Survivor don't care if Rules 2 is base or an add-on as I always make sure my team and myself have a working RBT before we try to get it off. What's the point of having one if you can't enjoy it?
-
Watching the teaser and looking at the lore again it really does sound like a curse was put on the father, he dishonered his ancestors by using cheap material to fix problems around the house, much like my bosses, and it sounds like that angered them. He became depressed and kept hearing dark whispers so I'm thinking he had a curse put on him and then he shamed his legacy by murdering his family, his daughter Rin became a vengeful Spirit and her blood was absorbed into the mask so I'm thinking the father ######### up so hard he accidentally summoned the wrath of his ancestors.
The only problem I see with everything is that if it is the ancestor or an Oni/Hannya I don't see why it would go into the the realm of The Entity when it is clearly going after the father, I mean Rin was basically saved and given another life by the Entity but what brings this? Then again maybe nothing since both the Clown and Ghostface literally just took a stroll and ended up in the Fog lol
-
It took 3 tries, my team made a Demogorgon cry with our massive gen rush, boy got 2 hooks that match.
It really just takes luck to be honest, make damn sure you know where the Killer is and then sit on a Gen, sneak away when the Killer is coming then sneak back just as he turns away, Bond will help you find others to finish gens with.
-
So I'm thinking it's the ancestor and maybe that will be his name too, if he's from ancient Japan and a soldier than maybe we'll be seeing some more raggedy looking cosmetics, he was never actually said to be a Samurai.
The leaks suggest he has 2 Modes but honestly I can't predict his power because it could be too similar to what we already have. A Katana requires 2 hands to hold so maybe he'll get a rush attack and then swing? Maybe similar to Hillbilly but probably not.
-
Well, you DID get hit when next to someone on a hook which is how you get a Protection Hit, it was just by a Bear Trap.
-
My best mist experience was on the OG Freddy and I was playing a private match with my friends, they all used the Purple mist offerings to ######### with me, they had no idea I was going to use Freddy with the Black Box to put one of them in the Dream World at the start. The dude was the Obsession was freaking out about how thick it was and they were saying ''it's the offerings dude chill'' then he starts screaming that I';m coming towards him but I was invisible lol they were yelling ''where WHERE'' and he was like ''RIGHT THERE!'' It was awesome.
-
Yeah once you unlock the teachables on your character you can get them on a different character, this is why you should unlock important perks that would be useful on other Killers, such as unlocking Tinkerer from Hillbilly and using that on Freddy since he can teleport to Gens.
-
The Fog Travelers were the best, imo. I was really hoping I would play Clown and run into everyone wearing them but oh well :(
-
Not really related to if Nurse is good or bad but damn, I have never seen a Legacy Nurse before, I saw my first P3 Nurse a few days ago but wow. Because of the Nurse changes I barely see Nurse anymore and really hope to go against a Legacy one day, I switched over from the console a while back so seeing one is really cool to me.
I find new Nurse kind of a mix between the same and easier to play against.
Easier obviously because that player is not that good after the changes and the same because they were predicting where I was going, bad map so not really many places.
-
Well they did have a contest recently where they officially chose a cosmetic made by the community but other than that maybe in Fan Creations near the bottom of the forum. I really did enjoy Rob Zombie's Halloween despite many people not, Hobo Michael in particular was an interesting take and would be a sick outfit.

I did that challenge on my first try lol.
It took me 3 tries because of bad luck and a slugging Huntress.

@Johnny_XMan said:
Genrush is a term used so loosely in this game, I don't even take it serious anymore.
No one says anything when killers slug to an excessive amount of time, or when they tunnel or camp to try to get that person out of the game.
I hate mass slugging, it's so boring and disgusting. When I slug I only do it for 1 Survivor but if the Gens were going fast and they are pretty grouped together I might accidentally slug everyone because I'm under the assumption I'm about to lose lol At that point when I realize what I did I let someone get up so they can make a save because that's bs.
-
I think the problem is that the wings on the arms are too low, if they were further up the arm near the shoulder they might not get in the way and maybe not stick to the knife.
-
I don't understand the problem. Rancor makes the Obsession Exposed, Moriable, and shows the Aura of the Killer when a Gen goes off but the Killer can't see the Survivor Aura, just a Location like Doctor can.

Even if it requires being in a chase, someone can still throw pallets without using them correctly and screw over their entire team. Playing terribly on purpose is far worse that playing rushing gens imo, and the survivor challenges are riddled with ones that encourage you to do just that.
Two safe unhooks in one game? Better bring BT and farm my teammates to get those safe unhooks, even though they're not really safe. Use Self Care to heal myself two times in a match? Oh it's an anti heal GhostFace, time to waste a full gen worth of time while someone's sitting there trying to heal me.
The challenges are all like this and annoying I agree, I felt like an ######### for using Self-Care and I'm pretty sure I got yelled at in Spanish when I told everyone what Challenge I was doing. I feel it is a case of the Devs underestimating how far players can take advantage of their challenges, I think they just didn't expect us to play in the way we are when it comes to the pallets and the unhooks.
-
As a Survivor if I escape and I get a Safety I feel neutral.
The pip means the game says I won but the Escape is the goal so if I die and I Pip I feel like I still won but if I escape and get a safety I'm ok with it because I still finished the goal. Kind of like when I play single player game and I finish it but get no trophies because I didn't do anything special, sure I didn't get any special rewards but I still beat it ;)
As a Killer, my goal is the 4k(that's how many Survivors there are so why not), 3 is good enough, 2 ok, 1 is me trying, and 0 is #########.
I feel that for Killers it should focus on 3k/1e You get rewarded for killing most of the team, killing that 4th is the cherry on top, if you kill 2 then it's acceptable but do better.
-
Thanks, Almo :)

Given we can negotiate the cooldown of the teleport to say 40~ seconds, I don't think it would be better than hag with mint rag, considering he still burrows into his tunnel and travels. In that frame, I don't think it'd be as good as mint rag.
Ah making the teleportation cooldown longer, I missed that in the post, my bad. Yeah that would be ok because it would be just like Freddy can also manually teleport to a fixed location; I like this idea a lot :)

Just run BT and watch as they still get farmed :/ that's how people get past that issue.
I can't argue with that, I have had many instances where my BT just could not stop someone from getting farmed/tunneled.

@Atrushan88 said:
Funny how the gen rush challenge is unhealthy for the game but the "throw 15 pallets while in a chase" isn't on your list of concerns at all.
Probably because the pallet one requires you to be in a chase in order to complete the challenge which is the right thing to do for that challenge. Only an idiot who cannot read will screw the game over for other players by throwing down pallets for no reason. I actually had a hard time doing this one because I kept getting stealth Killers who were breaking chase. I am more concerned about bad game design and not people who are illiterate, at least for now.
-
The Challenge does say unhook safely though so they did try and players are just not reading the entire description.
-
@KillermainBTWm8 said:
At least that challenge encourages survivors to do the objective somewhat. Liberator has you unhooking 15 survivors or in other words farming people off hooks 15 times to ensure you do the challenge faster. Or how about the use 15 pallets one, some people will just go around throwing every pallet down with Windows Of Opportunity. Yes these challenges seem healthy but people want to get done as quickly as possible. Which means you aren't gonna be having a good time if someone wants to speedrun the tome :/
I had a teammate not know they were supposed to be in chase to do the pallet challenge so they threw down all the pallets, thankfully at the end of the match when everyone was leaving.
I think this is just another case of the Devs underestimating their players, kind of like Legion and the moonwalk technique or Survivors refusing to Cleanse against Plague, they said they never expected players to do those things. I admit it is hard to come up with a challenge that we can't take advantage of in some way.
-
So a 115% movement speed Mint Rag Hag but instead of setting off traps he can sense people next to them. Insidious Bubba has some competition on the Basement game.

The perk is meant to be a hard counter to stealth killers.
This got changed recently with all stealth Killers being immune to Aura reading while in stealth.

@konchok said:
This is how red ranks play every game.
That isn't the issue though, the issue is that the Devs are unintentionally influencing it by creating a challenge that requires it. They make the problem worse.
-
@Eleghost said:
obviously you haven't been at red ranks or against people trying super hard to win.
As Survivor I got to 4, as Killer I would rather not no but I don't have time to get there regardless. My complaint is that the Devs are encouraging and unintentionally influencing Gen rushing, not that it exists but that the Devs are encouraging it with the Challenge.

If spirit's father is the killer it could work. I'm not too familiar with traditional Japanese values but, I imagine murdering your family is considered pretty disgraceful.
Well if you're a Samurai you are technically property of your Lord and your family is your own unless your wife is also a Samurai for that same Lord. If you shamed your master you would be told to commit seppuku, the father might have done this after what he did out of guilt.
I personally would love to see this power because it reminds me of this awesome trilogy about magical Samurai swords, it's called Daughter of The Sword if you're interested. The sword I'm thinking about is in the 3rd book, basically it's a Tanto that cannot kill you, you can stab someone with it and they will not die.
-
I have the game on the PS4 and PC so my PC hours and trophies are nowhere near my hours on the PS4. I did intentionally make my name the same as my player name though, when I was on PS4, on the PC I'm HattDude instead of Creature. My nickname is actually Hat Dude IRL but that name was taken on the Playstation so I came up with Creature.

Peanits addressed this quite recently. If you are getting an average score (in this case 2K most games), you are at the rank you belong in based on your average skill. If you are performing above the baseline, you have earned a rank up. If you are performing below baseline, you get the depip.
So the safety pip isn't a draw but that your own skill is leveling itself out, if you get a pip you're getting better at the game.
-
I found that too, I never started seeing this combo until they introduced Temple of Purgation. This is for Head-On plays, they put those there so players have more of a chance of setting it off which is a good idea because they should be making the game around the things hey add, Trapper wishes he got that kind of respect.
-
Technically speaking, the Emblem system DEMANDS you get the 4K. The higher rank you go the more you are pressured into performing like a god so that kind of goes against the 2 kill/2 escape philosophy.

Yeah lol, would be funny if Rin's mom turned into a Hannya out of the instense feelings of betrayal of being murdered by her husband; Rin turns into a Yurei looking for revenge and the one who was originally gonna be the killer, the dad, turns into a grief stricken man and, since he's no longer fit to be a killer, gets made into a survivor. Poetic justice? Boy I'm hoping for that
I would buy that
-
This sounds fair, the Event cosmetics can be sold during that event next year, nothing new since everything in the Rift will be sold 6 months from their Rift, that's half a year compared to the Event cosmetics so it's not like they're not doing this already.
-
Just having the game tell us who is SWF would be helpful
Knowing two of them can ''potentially'' be talking to each other gives the Killer info on what kind of strategies they need to implement in order to win.
Seeing Rank can do the same thing as if you see a 15 with a 4 and you're a 4 then you know who the weak link is and know that it's a SWF and that alone gives you information you need to win.

I'm kinda a weeb, and I love mythology and symbolism so I research stuff like this alot. Turns out some women can be made Hannya demons when they go through extreme grief or when they feel betrayed too. I really hope it's Rin's mom as a Hannya, they can shapeshift, mimic people and other cool stuff, lots of killer potential
She sounds like ripe pickings, it would be pretty funny if everyone turned into a vengeful demon because of what the father did and he's just sitting there wallowing in guilt.
-
Mettle is getting changed, they said in a recent Dev stream they are planning to change te perk but they are taking steps, the first step was letting us use it twice. I'm assuming they didn't roll out the full changes because the change is related to features coming in the next chapter so it may not have been ready.

Hannya masks are also symbols of good fortune and luck, so maybe that's why it's worn by the Yamaoka ancestor? Or maybe that's not his mask? Who knows lol. I'm just speculating it's either Rin's momma or the mask was a mistake lol
Edit: some Hannya and Oni actually bring blessings to families, so that could be why that mask is these too!
Wow there is a lot more depth to this than I would have guessed, I'm a lot more excited for the chapter than I was before.

I think when it comes to inherently weak Killers, they deserve a rework or buff. Kind of like how Freddy deserved his rework after being considered the worst Killer for 2 years.
I suppose we don't really need to even the plain field with every Killer to destroy the unique concepts they hold, but most if not all Killers should be at least buffed or reworked if they're stuck at low tier to make them more viable for Red Ranks and just in-general.
That, and the map design should honestly be changed to reflect a more healthy outlook to M1 Killers as a whole... rather than punishing them with insanely strong loops and set-ups that make using a certain perk an insane loop that requires bloodlust to overcome, like Lampkin Lane + Balanced Landing, or Iron Works and balanced landing, etc.
I was mentioning in another post about Rotten Fields how it is the most dangerous map for a Survivor because it is the most wide-open map with the loops only being on the edges so if they are caught in the open they're dead. The problem is the corn, the corn blinds the Killer and instead makes it the most Survivor sided instead. If they just take the corn and make like 4 of 6 squares of corn in the same area you wold have large areas of no corn and several patches of corn, that would decrease places to hide and make the corn a trap instead of cover. This would encourage Survivors to stay near the edges with the loops, if maps got changes like that then playing Killer would be more fair because maps are also a huge deal when it comes playing Killer.

Either way. I've made valid points and people at this topic can discuss or put up with a game that will nuke itself fast. The same arguments were made over on Daybreak studio's website about their major issues and well.... If the community wants to not have a civil discussion which can improve their game. OR, I welcome you to the same table of H1Z1. DEFUNCT and GONE.
They had nearly the same issues over there. Except the game never made it out of "beta". There was the mechanic of GAS, which closed the area down. They kept changing it and not addressing why people weren't happy. So yeah.. 50/50.. *SMIRK*
I never played H1Z1, it looks fun but it looks like you can die fairly easy before actually being prepared to fight, battle royales aren't really my thing. Unless I'm an idiot and don't know what H1Z1 is and I'm thinking of PUBG. I agree that problems need to be fixed and once they're fixed the DC rates will go down, that's a given. I was just stating how I personally feel about DCs and why they're bad, I also assume most people who DC are just being toxic and not doing because they feel the game is intentionally against them because it isn't unless the servers are lagging so bad and playing is impossible. DCing for that is totally understandable and I don't argue about that; if you can't play you can't play.

I don't think it's an Oni as that is a Hannya mask, a female demon. It represents female pain and rage, so it could be Rin's momma. Although it could be that the devs mistook it for an Oni mask too ?
I didn't know there was a Hannya so that's pretty cool, i love the Japanese culture and lore so thanks for teaching us a new thing :)
I'm thinking the Killer is the first Yamaoka and the mask belongs to him so apparently that dude either didn't care about his own culture and wore it for style or he had some identity issues ?
-
You mean the XP after a match? For some reason it doesn't update until either you Spectate or the match ends.
If you talk about certain Challenges then either you aren't doing the Challenge as intended or it's a bug.
The Archives don't require you to spend money at all in order to use it so good thing you didn't spend money on something you aren't even able to :)
The Rift requires you to spend money for the Premium track and you can count your Fragment progress in that section on the top right, 10 Frags per Tier and 800xp per Frag.
-
I don't about playing high tier powerful Killers, I always play for enjoyment and this is why I don't play certain Killers, not because they're low tier but because their base-kit isn't powerful enough to be fun and enjoyable.
I desperately want to play Trapper so I'm unlocking all the necessary perks to even play the dude and even then he is still disadvantaged because of his archaic design, the game was never designed around him even upon conception; it's ridiculous. Back in the Beta you cannot say Trapper was EVER designed to be a threat in this game when they launched the game with a loop that had 3 windows, they expected Trapper to trap all 3 with his slow speed and carrying a single trap and expected him to be powerful; never designed to be good.
We need all Killers to be powerful and fun in their own way, top tier doesn't matter and to be frank won't even EXIST if all Killers got changed to be fierce and fair. That will bring diversity and be healthy for the game. I like that the Devs are changing Killers but those changes need to be smart, hopefully the Spirit changes they chose are all she needs and the Doctor changes turn out to be amazing.
-
On the PS4 I have 8 characters spread between Survivor and Killer.
On the PC I have only Ghostface for the moment.
I plan to get back my Prestige for Freddy, Clown, and Nea. The others though I am unsure as taking a break on them and then revisiting them later, I just don't feel the enjoyment I once had and I am quite sure it is because I finally see all the problems they have that need fixing. I still love them with all my heart but if I'm not going to play them then I shouldn't be covering them with blood they didn't earn. Hopefully those Killers get upgrades to their kit so playing them becomes a little more enjoyable.
