DC equals trash, end of story.
I understand being frustrated with game designs and choices, things being unfair in their execution, sometimes the odds are stacked against you and it is purely because of how they were designed; it doesn't feel good and we understand that.
It is still not okay to intentionally make the game WORSE for everyone else.
It is not ok to intentionally make other players lose because you're having a bad time.
Your fellow teammates lose when you DC, they lose Rank and they lose any possibility of getting points. That Killer either plays the game out and has a chance of other players DCing too or farm and hope everyone stays so they can recover from what that DC Trash did so selfishly.
If you DC because of problems in the game, you make those problems worse for everyone else. You suffering was multiplied and you intentionally made everyone suffer because you were having a bad time. That is why people get punished for disconnecting, because it isn't fair for everyone else.
The game has problems that need fixing but we need to work together to fix them, not spread dissent and chaos.

This might work, SWF team can get 1 person to do all the wires while 2 are on Gens and the 4th is getting chased. Eventually someone is going to have to stop what they're doing to go save and that's 1 person on a Gen and maybe the last finishing with the wires. If the Killer has Ruin then that's another thing they have to distract themselves with, nothing intrusive and very simple, I like it.
I don't know if this would work but I think it would should be looked at since it's so simple it would be easy to test.
Another version could be that the Gens can't be worked on until the wires are fixed, the Gens power the doors but if they aren't connected it wont work. Each Gen can have their own wire and Survivors would have to follow the cord to find where it's broken and fix it.
-
Thanks everyone :) I got it! I got a Doctor to eventually just hit me instead of zapping me.
-
This is why I like both of Spirit's Ultras, they work together. The Ring takes away Scratchmarks but makes you insanely fast and the Glasses lets you see blood which is much more reliable than scratchies.

My Trapper just trapped the pallet

I done it, i stood in a pallet and made the killer hit me through the pallet. Dont move or loop, force him to swing.
So don't loop, make it obvious you want the stun and try to time it?

currently when she phases without them you can only hear the whooshing sound when you're in her terror radius. With prayer beads there is no sound at all. With the update I imagine it will be something like legions iridescent button, So it will sound like she's right next to you no matter where you are the entire time.
It's basically just to notify that she is phasing instead of not knowing.
So with the add-on with the changes, you will not hear her Phasing if she is right next to you but only outside of her TR?
Because without the add-on right now, that's how it is. In her TR you don't hear the whoosing.
It says the whoosh will be gloabl with the new add-on but it's already like that out of her TR.

Technically, this person was right. Anime comes from the Japanese, the new Killer is from the Shattered Bloodline chapter which is Japanese...dude was right.

That kinda goes in line with what I said. They dont want huge queue times but they do want to encourage players playing both sides as it gives the players a better understanding from just being a main.
Always remeber they are optional and you still dont have do any challenge on a side you dont want too.To complete it and get to the epilogue you can just play one side.
The killer ones actually have the ones which you can do with either side in them and getting 200k BP will be faster to complete playing killer.
Ignore the 2nd paragraph in my last reply lol I just saw that I was wrong.

So both Neutral Challenges are inside the Killer Challenges meaning anyone can do them, but you have to play Killer to get there and you'd be better off playing Killer to complete them; so why make them Neutral? Last time the Neutral were placed in spots where the Killer/Survivor Challenges intersected so you could bypass playing the other side. It really makes no sense to make them Neutral if they are within another side, you still have to play that side to get there and then playing that side anyway is better so Neutrality makes no sense. If this was done as padding for the Killers then why not make normal Killer Challenges just like the one after the Neutral Challenge?
There is no consistency in this level and there is no pattern as well as one side being rewarded more than the other. Sure I can totally get the influence with making a Survivor want to play Killer to get the full story of something they never would have read to begin with had they not even played the first Killer Challenge that started the Entity Journals. It would have made more sense to have 1 Entity Journal in a Survivor Challenge and the other in a Killer, like it is now but actually within a location that makes sense, like on the Survivor side.

Could work, you'd require the survivor to have that sense of security though, if they don't know you're chasing anyone, all they know is "she's here".
It's a good idea but sounds very unreliable. You'd just have to have a way to trick survivors into that sense of security that's reliable for the Spirit player.
Well as Survivor I never assume Spirit is on her way to my location, I let go of the Gen so I don't get grabbed just in case but I don't run off and show I'm actually there. I might stand a little bit away from the Gen so if she does show up I don't get hit but I don't like completely leave the area because I hear her coming. This add-on would get me as I would think she is indeed not coming since she did not appear and I still don't hear her TR.
But maybe this is why I can't get past Rank 5?

I'd have to ask though: how would this work for the Spirit while still in-phase?
If survivors could hear the phasing, the Undetectable wouldn't really matter as much as the survivors are aware of her presence.
And if the Spirit does manage to leave phase before survivors hear the vacuum, the undetectable status would have to last ridiculously long for it to not run out before she reaches the survivors.
That's my take on it, at least. If you have an idea on how to tackle that, you might have a fun idea there!
So lets say you're a Gen outside of her TR, you see she is actively in a chase with the Obsession, you keep doing the Gen. You hear her phasing and you're fine because the Obsession is being chased, the phasing sound ends and a second later Spirit turns a corner and smacks you in the face.
Basically the strategy would be to leave Phasing before you reach your destination, this way Survivors think you weren't coming for them since you didn't show up right next to them. That false sense of security convinces them to keep doing their Gen and then Spirit walks up next to them with no TR. It is kind of like Demo leaving his portals except you have concentrated control of where you're going and how far you want to go to time your Undetectable.

Its probably done this way so queue times arent stupidly long when someone wants to just do a challenge.
We saw what happened in past events when you had to play both sides like that.
If that's the case why did they put a Survivor Challenge deep within the Killer Challenges, forcing you to play Killer to get that last piece of Lore?
-
So Plague would lose a perk because of this change and that's not good. I think this would be too strong, too much pressure.
-
Lunar Event, when they picked up a Lantern they started glowing.
THIS, this is exactly what people need when they earn something rather than buy to differentiate who decide to work for it.
Everyone can still get the exclusives for free but those who earned it, i.e already have it in their inventory just get a glow effect ;)
-
I rarely see Legion nowadays and when I do I am only scared of them when they don't use their FF, pretty bad when you know their power is so bad that it's their M1 that freaks you out.
I love Legion and their changes went too far, hopefully they get a respectable change soon and not something that guts them even further.
-
They could have taken advantage of the Undetectable effect and given her a few seconds of that Post Phase, keep the sneaky aspect without gutting it. This is kind of like Freddy's add-on where all Gens spew blood.
-
Guys all that was changed was her add-ons being nerfed, how is this counterplay and how will that help Survivors?
I can see the no collision helping as both players will be 100% in the guessing game, that helps.
The window thing feels too much as that in itself was a mind game and it was super creepy when you saw her actually vault so I'm sad that's changing, that felt too much.
So instead of just giving her no collision they gutted several add-ons why?
Now when you use Prayer Beads the person right in front of you knows you're phasing....Frank's Mix Tape all over again.
-
Players----Spirit has no counterplay as I don't know what she's doing
BHVR----Ok we'll gut her add-ons
Players-----WHAT?!
-
Anyone who camps the Basement doesn't know how to play the Basement, these noobs need lessons.
-
When I was on the PS4 it was nice seeing a Billy with the Pro-Pain Hammer because I knew that player had been playing for as long as I have, they were cool to me because I knew they earned it instead of buying it. I switched to PC and now I don't have my hammer, on one side I am happy to get it back (despite me never playing Billy) but on the other I am sad that nothing is special anymore.
It's kind of like the Withered Blight skins this year, maybe people earned those skins in the Rift or maybe they just wasted money on them to get them faster but after the Event everyone will have bought them; there is no way to know who earned and who bought them.
-
Do remember Rank reset happened so there are a lot of bad players out there who are just stupid and make the game crap for everyone. When you Rank back up it won't be as bad because you'll get players who actually care about the game.
As far as Challenges, some of them seem a bit excessive and do cause players to act stupid, they said they're keeping an eye on how we play so that will determine if the next Challenges are easier or harder.
-
I was having the same thoughts but to be fair the time between them acknowledging that Spirit is ''over-performing'' and this teaser is really short, I honestly cannot see them coming up with changes and having them be tested that fast. If they could come up with changes like that within a span of 2 weeks, then we have more to complain about than bugs, we should be complaining on why it's taking so long to fix them.
-
There are so few Killer challenges this time and they're mostly Master Challenges which is fine as they reward more but there are only 5 Killer challenges, hooray for playing Survivor and WHY does the Killer node END with a SURVIVOR CHALLENGE?!
I know the Challenges are meant to get progressively harder down the line but some of these are designed to be done through dozens of games or play like ######### to get them done. Use 6 Med-Kits, well if you play Quentin you can start with a Med-Kit and then find a Med-Kit but then you rob everyone of Altrusim points and maybe you'll die before you can use the 2nd one.
I am not excited for Grabbing 1 Survivor off a Gen, Grabs have been so bad because of the servers that I lose chases because it denied me the grab and they got away; I don't trust that I can get the grab even if I play Ghostface. That's another thing too, ''Grabbing'' can only be done by Licensed stealth Killers and all of those are paid DLC, that challenge requires you to spend money to complete, unless you're a damn GOD with Tinkerer or have a Coxbombed Clapper on Wraith.

Well you have to be in chase for this particular pallet challenge and yeah, I thought about being a bit wasteful with the pallets but figured others would be doing the same so I tried to just play as I always do. But I 100% agree with you that some of the challenges force you to play poorly. And it caused me physical pain to run Self Care today to get that challenge done. I hate that perk.
I'm on the pallet one, had 5 games and threw down 2 pallets. This is mostly because my chases happen in areas where the pallets are already gone, I get instadowned, I get downed before I reach the pallet, or I don't get chased at all. Also when I told everyone in chat I was doing the Self-Care thing I am pretty sure I get yelled at in Spanish but I can't read Spanish; I don't like that perk either.

The serum being in the rift is what frustrated me imo. Because of placing an event reward currency in the rift, which needed more touch-ups, the event was delayed. The event as a result with the pustula offerings was the equivalent of WGLF, but on hooks and gens.
That's a good point, I really hope they don't do this in the future as this was not an ''Event'' by any means whatsoever. We had Gens with pumpkins and hooks with stuff, all dictated by how many Offerings were put in but none of that had anything to do with getting the Halloween cosmetics, there was a huge disconnect between the Event and the Rift and this was the most boring Event ever. The Xmas event is more fun than that was and that's the same thing except with no prizes or offerings.

BBQ, Ruin, Pop, Infectious.
The tiers don't matter for 3 of them, and you have tier 2 Ruin which is still good. BBQ and Infectious are to help to find survivors and generate pressure. Pop to slow gen speed either combined with or in place of Ruin (when it goes down).
I think this is probably you best option here. Could maybe take NOED instead of Pop so you have Ruin + NOED, but NOED is less effective at high ranks or against SWFs. Could also take Discordance in place of BBQ.
I never considered Infectious on Clown without Knockout but pressure is still pressure, and if I'm chasing 1 while another is on the ground then a 3rd Survivor is healing them so that's 3 people not doing Gens. I like this idea, thanks :)
-
I literally had a dude admit to DCing and then spectated the match, he felt all superior and just had to tell us that he was watching. People who admit to DCing should be auto banned, they must have been in the Purple or Red ranks when the reset happened so they weren't some new player.
-
Well they're supposed to be making a ''Husk'' system where if someone DCs yo can still Hook or Mori them, @Peanits is there any word on this? There hasn't been any mention or talk about that feature since it was mentioned.
-
I really want another Yamaoka map, I just hope this one isn't so big.
-
lol Ghost's new power Reverse-Stealth, ''now YOU'RE INVISIBLE!''
-
I'm kind of half/half
On one sides my interest in the Japanese culture is being fed AND as a writer I am excited to see story progression and call backs to earlier entries.
On the other side I am kind of disappointed that we aren't getting something new, it is new but also not. I was hoping for the Alchemist and to continue his story.
-
The serums are in the Free track so you don't need to pay to get them
I am personally holding all judgment on this until someone completes Tome 2, when someone shares how far they've gotten after completing both tomes then we can judge if the system to complete the Rift is too high or not.
The goal from what I can see is that you complete the Archives and get a boost through the Rift, then until the next Tome comes out you grind away normally. It's done this way so you don't get everything in the Rift too early.
I like The Rift but I won't be buying the next one unless it has things in there I like, most of the stuff in it right now is useless to me. This isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, it isn't oppressive, it rewards you with extra customization, and it spices things up in the game and shows you how often other players are playing. When I see the Auric Eye I know that player completed the first Tome, they play a lot and it gives players some extra spice in the matches with decorated hooks.
The Survivor charms though, I can barely notice them, some Survivor clothing covers them up and you can't see the charms other Survivors are wearing, it is purely for your own customization, kind of like the complete opposite of Killer cosmetics.
-
We'll probably get him next year as in this time next year, it looks like his story is something they're building on, a continuous story.
-
So far they have never released a solo Killer without a Survivor unless that Killer was licensed, like Leatherface and Ghostface. The Killer has always been the focus in the chapter because fear and violence sells, though it would be interesting to see a change for once and focus on the Survivor.
-
I really hope it's the ancestor and not an actual humongous large demon, sure Clown is fat but being super large with epic muscles just isn't appealing to play as, I'm sure being chased by it will be entertaining but not to play as; for me.
-
The sass is music to my ears.
Really excited for the Rank rework they talked about so we don't have to go through this anymore with new Killers. Imagine if Trapper was a new character and not an original, we would be playing him Level 1 with only his perks at a high Rank against good Survivors for the first time; I'm sure if that happened everyone would cry weak and that buffs were needed.
-
Oof, I thought this was going to be about how his mask is just a brighter shade than his default mask; this is worse.
-
There is this hallway in the middle of the map with two pallets, basically one really long wall, you think it's safe as the Killer has to break the pallet, but if you're on the wrong side of that pallet when you drop it and you're not paying attention there's a damn staircase that the Killer can use to go over the pallet. I keep forgetting it's there so I either get hit by it as Survivor or forget to use it as Killer.
I played on this map tonight as Killer and I'm sure I won not because of the pallet loops but possibly because the players weren't used to that map, Ruin went down early and Gens weren't as fast as they could have been. My chases weren't short because they weren't looping but more like running through the halls, in hindsight maybe running through the halls and not looping was the better choice for them.
-
Still reading Doctor Sleep, page 355 as of writing.
-
I personally don't care any more, I used to when I was hesitant and didn't want to spend an exhorbitant amount of money to switch to the PC...until I switched to the PC; thankfully I found a sale :)
I have a lot more progress on the PS4 than the PC so switching could still help me out a bunch, except I have been doing the Rift on the PC and not on the PS4 so I'm not sure if sharing progress will screw me over in that regard or not.

But most people dont care about pipping so...
Hell yeah dude, if I get 1 kill and I get Entity Displeased I feel good.
But if I'm Survivor I get really ######### annoyed when I lose pips but it's rare when the Killer is who makes me de-pip.
-
Springwood 2 &3
I want to say Coal Tower but maybe not
I love the MacMillan maps, not all of them but Coal Tower and Suffocation Pit feel good to me.
-
So Freddy's ownership transferred back to the Wes Craven estate, so he's no longer owned by a studio but by his family, maybe it will be easier to get cosmetics? Might be harder, who knows?
-
Way too many toxic people in this community but we all have to deal with it in some way. I always call out people in chat who try to abuse the Killer, we need to be positive and help each other out; we're all in the Fog together. If Trapper is placing traps all around the Basement just wait until someone unhooks you, don't suicide on Hook because you think he's camping and the person running directly towards you with BT is coming to save you.
-
If they actually start pulling things from the maps and seeing if anyone notices that would actually be pretty cool. I would love to see how long it would take people to notice that Maurice the horse is missing.
-
The perk does need to be updated though, hopefully with the new ''Oblivious'' and ''Undetectable'' statuses they might find a way to update this perk for more modern plays rather than just standing still for a very long time.

@Yamaoka one of the funnest and funniest things I’ve done with Insidious is to run it on Plague against non cleansers and I also use Iridescent Seal.
Get them broken.
Wait by a gen they’ve already tried to repair, and make sure I’m behind a LoS blocker.
Wait super patiently for them to finish the repair, all the while they’re coughing and puking.
Step B. MASSACRE.
LOL.
You sick little moo cow, that's gotta be funnier than Insidious Basement ?

So if a Hex totem just didn't light up until it became active then Haunted Grounds wouldn't act as a trick totem, it's meant to trick Survivors into thinking ''this is the totem I'm looking for'' but the only way it can do that is if it's lit up and if all Hexes are dull until they are active and you start the match next to a Hex totem that passed the ''line-of-sight'' check that never works then you'd automatically know that's Haunted Grounds.
A lot of people say that totems should not spawn next to Gens, BHVR has countered with ''then where would we put them''? We just laugh and point at hundreds of spots.
BHVR created a ''line-of-sight'' check so if a Survivor spawns in the game would check to see if they are within seeing distance of a totem, this is to prevent Survivors from spawning on it. Sure the totem is directly behind the wall next to them but...they didn't see it...not like they spawned on it...right?
I think the only real fix for a singular totem though would be Huntress Lullaby, Survivors know you have it the second they get on a Gen, it should only appear after the 1st Hook.

This should help you out, I watched this to better understand how to play him but it also helps understand how he works and what you're doing wrong. When you get to the part where it shows you how to detect him you'll be surprised to see how big the detection area is and what exactly you need to do.
