  • If solo and SWF were on the same level then Killers can be designed to deal with all Survivors and not just solo.

  • That was a bug?

This was so helpful, it let me know if I need to help my more than necessary because they were lower Rank and let me know if we were all on the same level or not. This is a mistake, having 1 Purple among a team of yellows is great for those yellows and as a matter of fact this happens regardless if we know their Rank or not but knowing it helps so much more.

I actually thought that was a great feature and really closed the gap between solo and SWF, guess not according to the devs.

  • The Shape scares the hell out of me, I know Ghostface can do the same thing but I get more freaked out by Myers just plain standing there like a creep than Ghost who is peaking and actually trying to be stealthy. Myers is so hardcore he doesn't even need to try to remain hidden, he'll stand just a few feet away from you in plain sight and wait until you notice him; #########'s terrifying man.

Legion Rework: Legion will now throw knives to injure and down survivors.

No wait... just had an idea...

    https://youtu.be/7HCkBtxXMes?t=27

Oh that's nice, you should look up the Punisher PS2 game when he goes into rage mode, the whole screen turns black and white he throws knives at people.

  • Either this or just let it be automatic, that would be cool, it really sucks when your team is taking their sweet ass time to come save you and you're the only who's struggling, to click a button 100 hundreds.

  • These kids are gonna get taught by a real hunter, Huntress will show them the true way to chase!

  • @Almo said:

We did not change Deep Wound time just to "fix" Legion. It was an idea we came up with that could help with the Legion frustration problems, but then we evaluated it and the other ramifications it would have. We decided that it was a good idea for several reasons and went with it.

I'm not being a smartass, I understand that BT and Legion are connected and that 1 change effects the other but since it has been so frustrating has anyone considered just reworking Legion to give him another power altogether? I know that takes some SERIOUS time but wouldn't that be better than trying to find ways to make Survivors happy and Legion players happy without crippling one or making it frustrating for the other, this whole problem is because of DW being connected to BT without that connection Legion would be easier to fix for all players.

  • So either it's a bug or it's another case of Surge where the description is worded incorrectly.

Assuming it is NOT a bug

Dying Light will work wonders with this perk because you can switch the Obsession a whole bunch of different times and possibly get more hooks. Same goes for Remember Me but for different reasons. STBFL and PWYF will come back into play if you kill your Obsession and PWYF is probably the best perk to combo with this.

This perk goes nicely with Judith's Journal on Mikey

Rancor will become scarier than NOED, just avoid being stunned the entire match and it will become a deadly surprise with 0 counter, either get hit or stun the Killer and become a 1-shot.

    Assuming it IS a bug

Furtive, Nemesis, and MYC will be sick and I seriously hope it is a bug even though you're using 3 perks for 1 specific thing lol

  • So the problem is that BHVR has to tiptoe around any and EVERY perk they make in the future with Oblivious and Undetectable because if they do it wrong then Legion becomes becomes a god again.

Deep Wounds is connected to the TR so anything that changes that changes Legion, if 1 Killer can exploit something then maybe the Killer should just be changed so they don't have to worry about it anymore.

Nemesis on Legion is counterable, 100% it will catch Survivors off guard once and then maybe not again in that match but the point remains that it can still happen and they have to be very careful with what they add in the future and to be honest that might deny us some powerful perks because they have dumb certain things down.

  • So the Original OG bad kids group, The Legion <3 basically worked liked this:

I stab you and you get DW, I stab you again and make your timer smaller, boy you better believe I'm stabbing you again, GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!!!! The OG Legion didn't break out of their power when they stabbed you, they just kept stabbing you because it was awesome and they loved you.

Alternatively: I stab you and I break chase, your DW timer goes down as I follow your blood without actually ''Chasing'' you and force you to fall to the ground because you can't Mend as the OG Deep Wounds went down when out of a chase instead of out of the Terror Radius.

OG Legion was beautiful but very bad for this game.

  • If they're running out of ideas, IF, then maybe it's time for a fan-chapter. A lot of people in the community have come up with amazing and original ideas.

A short version of mine is---you can create a duplicate of yourself with a simple AI routine that targets the nearest Survivor and follows them and goes away only when striking or gets stunned. Striking a Survivor does not injure them without an add-on but does make them scream, this is only half of my Killer's ability but basically this can be used at loops to confuse Survivors as to which is you and create artificial map pressure by making Survivors think you're chasing them. The other half of the ability involved dimensional travel, a version that Demo should have come with.

This is just one example of n original idea that can be put into the game, if the Devs are actually running out of ideas maybe they should dig into that Fan Creation section they have.

  • BHVR comes out with some incredibly creative characters and abilities, every chapter feels fresh and fun and that's why I love this game despite all my complaints; I mean if I wasn't enjoying myself I wouldn't be here. So far Year 3 has been great, licensed characters, sick cosmetics, new maps, new creative ways to play, I'm enjoying most of what they're giving us.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. But Legion is apparently meant to rack up huts. Meyers is balanced with needing to build up his power. Billy has no power steering fluid. Really, Oni should take longer to get his power up, and downing someone should drop it, instead of having to pick someone up first. If Legion is about spreading the love, Oni should be about 1 at a time.

I can see Oni getting some changes before going live, I think losing his power after downing someone might be part of it or at least stunning him breaks him out of it.

  • ❤️ I hope you find something better suiting your needs Scorpio.

Mend time in general was reduced to 12.

    Borrowed time was therefor buffed.

Oh so that change was for Mending period and not just Legion, well they went all the way with consistency except for Legion's 30 seconds instead of 20

  • @UncannyLuck said:

The new killer power rubs me the wrong way because I remember specifically a dev here saying that Legion has to make a choice between using their power for map traversal and using their power for attacking.

Then we get this killer that... doesn't have to make that choice at all. Also, they 1-shot with their power instead.

I was thinking the same thing, we got another Killer who dashes and hits but in some ways it's better and some not.

What I seriously dislike about the new Killer is that he goes into a rage, an actual rage and when he he is done he sounds exhausted, I like that :) But Legion has a power called Feral Frenzy and when they finish their power they get a huge stun and scream in pain...huh?

Also, Oni has a 1 shot ability and when it is finished it is nowhere near a 4 second stun, but Legion gets 4 seconds just because they hit someone.

    This is seriously backwards insane.

Myers has T3 no stun just a blade wipe, Oni has 1 shot stun is nothing, Billy has chainsaw and can immdeiatley do it again, Legion makes someone bleed and screams in pain for 4 seconds

    That doesn't add up

  • @Raven014 said:

I've been offering ways to make Legion more fun, even less one note overall, yet this is the change they made. It's like they don't play their game or listen to people who DRAG LEGION UP TO RANK 3.

What's even stranger than this change is that they gave the new Killer a perk that makes Legion OP. Nemesis turns Legion into their OG self and makes them invincible, I don't know if this was intentional or an oversight but yeet. If this was an accident then they really don't care at all to think that perk and the new Beast of Prey wouldn't be too powerful on Legion. If this was intentional, I'm abusing the ######### out it because that feels good.

  • This felt so good to watch, I know BoP is in the shrine now and I want to buy the perk just for Legion but I just know they're going to patch it, but then again this was all planned so maybe not?

This whole Legion debacle is so weird.

  • I had a similar experience

I was Legion and it was maybe my 2nd Killer game of the day and I got Lery's, wishing I had chosen to bring Bamboozle. In the match are 2 Nancys dressed exactly the same, so I find the first Nancy and injure her and couldn't reach anyone else so I was wandering around until I somehow come across that Nancy again and I down her and hook her. Nancy gets unhooked and I use my FF to stab her rescuer then I go to stab her but the idiot drops a pallet on my head breaking me out of FF, how the hell am I supposed to track anyone? So I down the little girl and let her stay there a while and chase some other people, Nancy never got picked up, she was on the floor a LONG TIME so I decided she needed some attention and hooked again. At this point all the gens got done because I had a hard time catching people, no pressure, I was bad and I admit it. Now Nancy gets unhooked and I know I need a kill so I use her as bait and down her and chase her SWF buddy with FF, I smack him and I hear someone else behind me with Nancy so I run all the way back to try and get the easy target.

When I arrive at Nancy's body I find ######### NANCY healing her up off the floor, so I hit the healthy Nancy just as she got her up off the floor and I chase her down and smack her. When I got her down I look at the name of the players and realize that the Nancy I just downed was the ######### Nancy that just got off the floor. When I hit the healthy Nancy I got her confused for the one on the floor so doing the only thing I got left I give Nancy her 3rd hook and in the chat everyone called me a tunneler who goes after the low ranks. Was Nancy a low Rank? Not like it tells Killers who is what Rank in the lobby, great idea btw.

It was the stupidest thing ever. I don't think it was a 4 man SWF as I could only confirm she was with 1 of them but you never know, these people have small brains and drink bleach, I wouldn't sell them a room if they begged me.

  • I wish they would consider smaller properties and give indie Killers a spotlight, Basement Jack is a very well done slasher and would fit right in this game. The Look-See from Crypt TV is quite interesting. AHS isn't indie but they are a treasure trove of creative slashers that all would work wonders in the Fog, but as far as Iconic slashers go yeah the list is getting smaller.

As far as my favorite slashers go the only ones left who aren't here are Pinhead and Candyman, the Fisherman from I Know What You Did Last Summer would be fun though but he never got as big as the others.

  • I think they did it to break him out of his power because he doesn't have a way for Survivors to break him out. Also if your power goes down while you're carrying someone then you're wasting your own power regardless so it's better if the power turns off when you pick them up instead of it just draining.

I don't really understand the line of thought:

    • Did BT need a timer buff?
    • Did Legion need a nerf?

I think everyone would agree that the answer is no.

If some add-on combined were ridiculous, then why not change the add-ons (duh!)?

Also, what about the basic attack change? Can you please read here?

Yes changing the add-ons seem to be the right way to go if the Mend time was ridiculous WITH ADD-ONS, great thinking :)

Also, the Devs thought it was ridiculous, not the players. So we are totally ok with the time but they decided to nerf Legion's core ability anyway, wow. Not complaining actually gets results somehow, I totally feel like my opinion matters...

  • The Mend time on Borrowed Time is 15...why is Legion's 12? It makes no sense for a Killer ability to help Survivors and get them out of danger faster.

Demogorgon's Shred cooldown is 2 seconds when he hits a pallet, no one complains, Hillbilly doesn't even get 3 seconds, Legion is the only Killer with 4 and yet he's weaker than those other two Killers. His cooldown needs to be 3 again, it's ok BHVR, it was a mistake just undo it.

its odd how she's the innocent one yet she looks insane

Another reason why I like her so much 😉

  • susie.png

    Susie <3

Look at that smile, her style is cute and similar to my own. Growing up in Hawaii we didn't really have anyone goth or punk so I was literally the only ######### wearing chains and top hats, playing as a character I can relate to feels good. Susie is cool and I hope we get more outfits for her, really hoping one day we get maskless cosmetics for them so I can kill everyone with this beautiful face :)

  • I ship Susie and I 😂

But in all seriousness I ship:

Susie and Kate---Susie is shy and Kate is a free spirit badass which is also why she's friends with The Legion so I'm sure she has a crush on her.

Freddy and Quentin---just because they broke up doesn't mean they cant get back together <3

David and Jane---I just see these as that couple who struggle because they're so different but in the end have great chemistry.

I don't see them as a couple but I'm sure Nea and Claudette would be great friends, they're both loners and Nea is a rebel which compliments shy people like Claud.

  • So the OG Legion was fast in every way and could down people with their power, they increased the stun because I guess Survivors were saying his cooldown was too short? Does anyone ever remember a complaint like that? All I remember is people saying he had no counter-play and his power was too oppressive.

Hillbilly can instadown but his cooldown is nowhere NEAR 4 seconds, so is why Legion's 4?

Nurse's is 3 I think and she can go through walls, no one complains about that.

Demogorgon's cooldown when he misses is 2, when he hits I think it's 3, so why is Legion's 4?

I feel that the 4 second stun was too harsh and was only implemented to make people feel better about the changes to the OG Legion and that they were really cracking down on fixing him. Therefore since Legion is in such a bad shape I propose that having a 3 second cooldown is fair as it lines up with all the rest of the Killers who are actually more powerful.

    Consistency

  • You think Trapper looks ''yikes'' daymn, boy gots um muscles back de'r, got dat chin could chisel a rock!

  • It may sound silly, but without making any major changes to the Killer bloodweb and make Survivors cry about the diversity they could make a perk that's just like Plunderer's for Killer.

I have been wanting a Killer version of that perk for a long time, not because I want more add-ons but because it would be a fun meme perk. Kick a chest and that chest explodes injuring the Survivor and gives you an add-on instead, it can limited to 1 chest so that way you can use the Cut Coin and make only 1 chest appear and this perk would always injure a Survivor.

Much better perk than Iron Maiden

  • @HealsBadMan said:

    OOF

I've been saving up my shards so I could get Surge in the Shrine (don't really want to play Demo, grind and level him, etc.), but if its THIS lackluster I'll just save up for an OC killer or a really good 'licensed' perk instead.

Oh so you're new? What have you got so far? I would say save up for Pop Goes The Weasel instead or buy Clown but you might have him. Freddy is an amazing choice for slowdown, unlock Thana on him and with his rope add-ons you're good to go.

The additional means it's in addition to the regression over time.

The alternative would be that it only regresses 8% and no further.

This perk does have potential but the conditions and low numbers hold it back.

If it was map wide then it'd be good for getting information much like with thrilling tremors, and this is currently it's best use anyways, since explosions make a noise notification.

If it had no cooldown or basic attack requirement it'd be great for slug builds, since you'd be able to chain together usages to regress multiple gens multiple times back to back without losing momentum.

PGTW would require you to stop and hook them by comparison.

And finally if it had bigger numbers (like the announcement numbers) then it would be a gimmicky general purpose PGTW substitute.

Personally I'd prefer the 2nd solution since it's a niche not already covered by existing perks unlike the other 2 solutions.

Is THAT what the additional regression means? Wow that was worded so poorly, they literally could have said ''Gens within your TR explode by 8% and continue to regress'', my goodness.

  • @Mr_K said:

I'm just hearing of this interpretation. Why would they make it better than Pop?

It wouldn't better. Sure 18% on possibly 2 or 3 gens but most likely 2 sounds big but in fact 25% is big. Pop requires a hook, only a hook. Surge requires a down every 40 seconds and doesn't actually stop Survivors from doing the Gen. the 18% can be put on while they're on it and they stay on it and recover those few seconds very quickly. You can get 2 downs within 40 seconds and 2 hooks with Pop and make a Gen regress to 0 by kicking the same one, Surge can't do that and has a 40 second wait time so even if you are downing people fast it won't make a difference since the Gen is still regressing. With Pop you chase the person off the Gen, apply 25% and chase the Survivor, with Surge you apply the 18%, hook the Survivor and then run over to the Gen still being worked on and then kick it, the 18% was put back onto the Gen witin that time.

  • If a Survivor is complaining then yeah, better find another game bro 🤣

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/846202#Comment_846202

What they should do to eliminate any confusion is use the templating of Pop Goes the Weasel.

Indeed, or just buff the perk since everyone acknowledges it is garbage. Making it actually 18% would be decent since 25 is good and 18 is just a little below that so it would be a decent perk if you didn't have Pop.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/846191#Comment_846191

8% in addition to the regression you get from kicking a gen.

You don't get regression when you kick a Gen, when you kick a Gen you make the Gen regress by .25 charges per second but it does not actually cause any regression when you kick it. If it is meant to be what you're saying then it should not say additional since there is no pre regression on the Gen.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/846177#Comment_846177

I think people thought the gen exploding meant it would apply normal failed Skill Check regression, and the "additional" 8% was in addition to that.

Well what is ''additional'' 8% supposed to mean? It looks worded poorly if it means additional gens get 8%. Shouldn't it say that instead?

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

So you were just misreading/-understanding. An explosion doesnt go in line with a regression, both were/are/will be two different things. Otherwise there would have been written something like "the regressionrate increases by an additional 8%" or something like that to mean what you thought of. Thats not even bad wording, its just fundamental understanding of language you lack. Also it doesnt effect only one Gen, it affects all within range, meaing if there are 3 Gens very close together they would all regress by a total of 24% Thats what it was meant to be used for.

If 3 Gens get effected by 8% that's not 24$, that's 8%. You're adding up 8% 3 times to validate your opinion, the gens are all 8% which is bad. The perk clearly says ''Putting a Survivor into the Dying State

with a Basic Attack causes all Generators

within a radius of 32 metres to instantly explode and regress.

Surge applies an additional regression of 8 %.

Surge can only be triggered once every 60/50/40 seconds.''

All gens within 32 meters explode, applies additional 8% regression. So according to your words, the perk is meant to say ''when a Survivor is downed within 32 meters a nearby Gen will explode and will also apply an 8% regression to every additional Gen''. So according to that 1 Gen will be kicked and the other 2 will have an 8% regression. That is not what the perk does, all Gens regress by 8% so the additional is not referring to additional Gens. Also, trying to humiliate someone by insulting them for their supposed lack of comprehension is disgusting, just because someone is having a hard time ''understanding'' English does not make them less than you.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Surge is a god awful perk. I think the hit should be map wide considering how ultra specific the conditions of this is. First if you play an experienced group. They will make sure they don't get downed by the gen. Even if they do.....how much of a benefit is it to have that TINY regression against 2 or 3 survivors instantly working to undo it.

I decided to never use it when activating it and having the gen POP when I hang the guy I downed on a hook like 5 ft away....

It even has a timer as if it might be too strong lol.

I was using it with Surveillance so I can get some info on nearby Gens but now that combo seems completely worthless and any combo would be better; Surveillance by itself is better than wasting a slot. I can't believe I leveled up Demo to 30 to get this perk, I should have bought just Nancy instead of the entire chapter.

  • @BABY_DAVID said:

I agree I want more clarification and also I rarely see demo as well. forget he is in the game sometimes.

I rarely see him and when I do the player is usually bad because they haven't played him very long. I saw him a lot during release but only twice this past week and that was because one of them tried to get the Adept.

  • Think of it as Dying Light that actually makes sense, as in the person who is benefiting you has this ability but the ability dies with them.

  • I'm assuming you have no perks unlocked on any of your killers? Assuming you have just the basic Killers I would say go with Wraith, not having a TR is very helpful and you can find Survivors easier since they won't know you're coming. Sloppy Butcher, Bloodhound, Whispers, and I guess Shadowborn would be an ok loadout, you got tracking and you got Survivors healing very slowly. You can play Trapper if you want but know the odds are against you but when you win it feels Good, nothing feels better than hearing someone step in a well placed trap.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_yixIT0p58&t=2600s

This video will help you make better choices and give you better advice, Otzdarva is amazing and this vid is geared towards Killers who only have the basic perks and gives strategies, hope it helps.

  • The problem isn't the Survivors, no I'm not going to say ''git gud'' like everyone else on here is either, the problem is that the Killers aren't strong enough to deal with the problems laid before them. Some of them are, Freddy, Spirit, Hillbilly, Ghostface, maybe Nurse(I never play her and rarely see her anymore) but others just don't have enough in there base kit to truly tackle the challenges Survivors put you through. Long post ahead, not sorry.

For example, The Trapper was one of the original 3 Killers and he was never designed to be able to deal with the Survivors, his power is good but when the game was officially released his base kit and entire power was not made for this game. When this came out loops would have 3 ######### windows on the same wall and Survivors had no Medium Vault just the fast, how was Trapper who had incredibly slow setting speed and hold 1 trap supposed to deal with that loop? Was he supposed to put 1 trap down at a window and then watch the Survivor go back and forth through the other 2, no Entity blocker btw. Also, that is 1 loop on the map and 1 Survivor, there are still many more loops and 3 other Survivors he would have to deal with back when the game was released. He was not made to be good or handle the situations Survivors put him through when the game was released, that says something.

Clown is good in chases, he is designed to slow down Survivors and confuse them in a chase and down them with ease. Well the other 3 are on gens. Clown has nothing in his kit to distract or slow down Survivors he is not chasing and his only pressure is to down people quickly but that isn't enough, every Killer has more pressure than he does.

The problem DBD has is that they haven't been making Killers that can deal with the problems Survivors give them, they aren't designed to be strong enough. If all the Killers got an upgrade to their kit then it wouldn't feel so Survivor sided. Trapper got upgrades, just as Freddy, and Wraith did but Trapper is still crap because he was never meant to be in this game, he was the OG Killer for the game and it was not designed around him so he needs the biggest upgrade of all. Nurse and Spirit were over-performing so they got kicked down a bit and now Doctor is next for those upgrades, maybe.

I would love that, gory. But the devs said they won't do certain gory things because it would mean making a custom thing for every character model, too much work.

    Actually it would.

The spirit would feel hatred for human Rin because she doesnt hate her father.

This would be rich story telling right here if it happened. Rin comes home to find her mother brutally murdered by her father's hand and then is attacked and thrown a window breaking her body, destroying her life. The Entity comes along feeling her rage and offers her vengeance with the price of service, she accepts and is thrown into the Fog dishing out her fury on everyone until she can finally face her father for what he did. One night as she slips through the Fog she spies a young girl ripe for plucking, innocent, and ready to be shown the depth of her malice until she recognizes that that young girl is herself, untouched by the horrors of her father, naive, and alive.

I'm sure she would be stunned at first upon seeing herself but soon afterwards she would feel pity, and then jealousy, and finally hate. She could be jealous that this girl hasn't had her life destroyed and is still alive and she would be furious she still loves the man who had broken her body and killed her mother. That's juicy and I would love to see that happen.

Hm yea I forgot that attacking turns off night shroud but I like your idea more. It might actually make furtive chase be worth using since your TR would be smaller when you end the chase so if you had 4 tokens, anyone 16 meters+ away from you would receive the stalk buildup.

Ooo, wow that's a sweet side effect, Furtive Chase would actually be good on Ghostface with that add-on.

  • I like the idea but the problem is that once you down someone your Nightshroud turns off so you can't actually Stalk them even if it allowed you too. Unless of course it just let you use the Stalk button for those 4 seconds but I doubt that would be strong because Stalk is slower when not leaning and the time it would take you to find somewhere to lean and someone to Stalk would probably take those 4 seconds.

What if when you downed someone with your Stalk, anyone outside your TR gets half of their Stalk meter filled up? This way you could use it BBQ and then find those people and then just finish the job, if done right it could create a massive snowball. You can down 1 person and 2 people have half their meter filled, down another and then those 2 people have their other half filled up 99% so you can literally just walk up to them BAM.

  • The middle pallets in the very center of the map in the rooms are safe, my loops consist of the many MANY turns in that map and using the rafters to win chases. But other than that yeah, the pallets on this map are pretty bad and I love getting this map as Killer, still haven't gotten that Stranger Things trophy for that Gen :(
