  • @fluffybunny The comparison to Adrenaline sounds spot on, it's the Killer equivalent to NOED, Adreanline rewards Survivors for Surviving and NOED saves Killers from failing giving them both one last chance and both could potentially be wasted perks never being used. I can see how people compare DS to NOED but Adrenaline sounds closer to it since they both have similar counters.

If you’re getting tunneled you’re going down in 40 or less usually.

But 60 is fine I think if the killer gets a visual notification like Pop or MYC. Maybe once the perk activates on a survivor the killer sees a little clock on their icon that counts down (survivors see this too.)

I can’t help but think how rough it would be when you do play fair but you run into your last victim at say second 58/60 and then get dsed for being unlucky.

Or especially end game. Won’t survivors get a free escape with ds?

Of course they will. But the devs are super cucked by bad review bombs and will always offer a way out when they make a change to survivor. They also made the change in a way that make a lot of strong killer builds much less devastating.

Why is everything the developers do a complete screw up? This change is probably one of the best out there and I'll say it's even better than my DS rework.

Additionally, why is any buff/nerf a killer versus survivor war? Instead of ranting, offer feedback like the OP is doing.

Hopefully this didn't come out as rude.

Because having DS with a gate open means the survivor is walking right out of the gate. A minute is a very long time to crawl. Further, versus perks like Remember Me the killer doesn't get additional time from hitting a new obsession but still endures the penalty of the new obsession opening the gate unhindered. With Dying Light the new obsession removes the penalty instead of stacking. Meaning the killer is punished twice with the each Decisive Strike, etc, etc. They'll get credit when they do something that doesn't involve backhandedly nerfing killers at the same time they make a slight change to survivors. The words counter play is synonymous with alternative way to be just as cheap when it comes to survivors and Behav10r.

Dying Light has definitley been destroyed by this, Remember Me I didn't think about until I saw this but the bright side about this is if the DS is used before the Exit is open then you still have time to tunnel that person and slug them or hook them.

And DS has always been a free escape, it's the nature of the perk and smart Survivors use it in the endgame anyway. The only real counter to this is that when the Gens are done you slug the person who got unhooked and pay attention to everyone else. This could go wrong or it could work out depending on many factors.

Also why not offer your rework?

I been showing my rework for ages to make the perk better but salty killers don't tell me why they don't like my rework. It's like they think I'm trying to get my easy escape when I'm just suggesting something for feedback, a thing that you're supposed to do in the forum. No One Escapes Death

Progress infuriates you beyond belief which causes you to release your true potential. Whenever a generator is completed, receive a 15% haste effect and a 20% attack cool down decrease until you perform a successful offensive action. Bonuses from No One Escapes Death stacks if multiple generators are completed simultaneously.

I remember seeing this, not sure what I said before but I think it's cool. Basically every time a Gen is done you get a temporary but useful buff. I think the only reason most Killers don't want it is because the Exposed is gone. Which is my only gripe as well so maybe keep everything you have but add something that triggers when all Gens are done just to keep the Endgame aspect of the perk. Exposed isn't necessary but something that's still endgame relateed could take it's place?

Thank you for the feedback! :)

I was thinking that you'll receive a permanent 15% movement speed increase whenever a survivor is attempting to open exit gates while receiving a visual notification on what exit gate. However, not sure if the speed part of the buff should take effect during a chase.

I was going to suggest that all remaining Survivors Auras would be shone, maybe until they get downed and that person's Aura is gone? Your idea of the permanent 15% speed boost with the Aura on the Exit gate itself is cool, it kind of picks up the slack of Blood Warden where it shows Survivors IN the Exit area but not at the Exit switch so that's cool and still pair up nicely together.

I don't like NOED because I see it as a badly designed perk. There's no way to tell if the killer has it until it activates. Kinda like DS now. You're just assuming the otherside has it.

True, before the DS change whenever I saw an Obsession that wasn't Laurie but I also had a Laurie I assumed she had it as well. And now that's even more intensified because no one has the marker lol

Because is a perk that give a reward to a bad killer that failure in his job. (Like DS for survivor side)

In low ranks yes, completely agree with you. I've had lots of matches just like this as a Survivor. In Red ranks it punishes players for doing too well and going too fast and not looking for totems. Some Killers get to red ranks and find that NOED helps with that rush because no one finds it necessary to disable it. Yeah the Killer failed at protecting Gens but he's up against 4 very experienced players who know what they're doing so the game bcomes harder than it used to be.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 said:
Because it's frustrating as solo to have team mates who don't cleanse totems.
Against swf I don't see an issue with noed, everyone can communicate where and how many are left.
Against solos it's dirty, unless you are such a terrible bad killer and give them enough time without pressuring.

It is especially dangerous for solo players, I've had loads of matches where I don't get all the totems and hope that the other Survivors did but nope, no one ever gets them. Being solo has lots of problems and I can see why this is more hurtful to us moreso than SWF.

  • I'm excited :) I've been needing an anti-tunnel perk for myself because I have ######### teammates and this will do nicely.I never used D-Strike before but now I'm leveling Laurie for it.

It'll still be powerful but nowhere near as a headache as it was, normally it's just stressful seeing that icon and knowing what it means. Now if Survivors are smart and they're in the situation they'll use it in the endgame which is where you should be using it as a Survivor, Blood Warden is going to come in handy.

I do enjoy Legion, even if Survs don't hehe

I love Legion <3 it really feeds my sadism.

  • It depends what kind of Killer you are, do you enjoy being stealthy or do you enjoy being dominant and in their face?

    Domimant in your face--Hillbilly/Clown/Nurse/Myers/Leatherface
    Stealth---Pig/Spirit/Wraith
    Strategic--Legion/Trapper/Freddy/Pig/Hag

We can't tell you what would be fun if you don't tell us what you enjoy, unless you're a jack of all trades. If that's the case go Legion, they need love.

I Main Freddy and Pig atm, I used to do Clown and will eventually go add him again. I dabble in Legion because they're fun.

  • So everything Chester put up is everything you need to know really lol that transition guide is the most important thing imo. After seeing that video it made me think that Spirit is an improved version of Freddy because their power both uses mindgames but Spirit excels where Freddy fails, which is defense, Freddy has no defense.

Also, Freddy is eventually getting a rework so have fun with this while you can because no one knows what his rework is going to be, it can be completely different or just reworked of what he already has. But as of right now Freddy is the master of the ######### slap to the face, catching Survivors around corners with a slap ;)

So I despise NOED on Legion because players force themselves to not use their power so they can get the 1 hit down, that's not how you play Legion. BUT, I'm going to eventually P3 my Legion and decided to get NOED just to see if I'm wrong and maybe it's cool on Legion.

Looking at the perks I have, Bitter Mutter, Remember Me, NOED, and STBFL, I'm going to use Joey's Mixtape and the ywllow mixtape for cooldown, I got to thinking maybe Legion can actually be good at the endgame. At this writing I haven't tried it yet nor can I today but have you guys tried this, am I wrong about Legion and NOED, do you think Legion's got Endgame material and no one knows yet?

It is your own opinion on how you play the killer. Some people will use mixtape for easy fast downs. I will just do duration and block window/pallet to hit them out of the stun. Or if end game body block them from exit and hit them down.

I love the Mixtape combo, nothing toxic or wrong about it, it makes the Killer actually lethal with their power instead of a nuisance. I haven't tried the block the window and pallet out of stun yet, they always seem to find a way to get behind me and jump back over but it sounds amazing.

I know everyone has their style with playing I just don't like the idea of purposefully crippling yourself just to get that bonus, that choice can cost you the game because the risk is very high. I've seen many Legions win because of it but a lot of others lose as well because they are still too slow and realize their power can close the gap but hurts them even more. Legion is super complicated with many mechanics it's annoying.

Agree it can be risky, but making it risky and fun is worth it for me personally ;)

I think I'll try it out at least once and see how it goes. I hate having a deep opinion on something I haven't tried, hell if I do this I might actually be able to use NOED for once, my games don't usually get this far XD

  • Dying Light needs to be tweaked in order for it to be more useable. They've stated that the perk can be deactivated if the Obsession is killed and SOMEONE ELSE becomes the Obsession, it turns off. The perk forces Killers to tunnel or use a Green Mori but now that tactic is fruitless because if you actually manage to kill your O then someone else has D-Strike then your perk turns off and your Green Mori is gone and you have to waste more time to tunnel the next person because odds are you didn't get uch use out of the perk the first time.

Dying Light needs to be changed so it can be easier to use bu D-Strike looks much better now. Anti-tunneling perks are good to have and this sounds great, I'm leveling up Laurie now because I actually want to use it for once.

  • If you guys do think about changing Dying Light I've got a suggestion. When the active Obsession is hurt all Survivors get a % debuff, when that Obsession is hooked the debuff gets bigger, when the Obsession is unhooked or healed the debuff gets smaller, when the active Obsession dies the debuff gets to it's current full power. When the Obsession switches to someone else their health state determines what the current % of the debuff is. Kind of like Thana but focused on the Obsession.

  • I hope Dying Light gets looked into because we already have a hard enough time with getting it activated and now it can be deactivated. This perk promotes tunneling and that's the only way to get use out of it and this DS change makes this perk even harder to use. Changing Dying Light to not have a tunneling aspect would make this perk easier to use.

Overall I'm excited :) I'm leveling up Laurie now

You read right. That's how the future changes to DS works. Obsession is now jumping from a survivor to another after they use DS.

Okay but nobody has explained whats going to happen to STBFL or Dying light. I use Dying Light frequently and now you're telling me the effect is gone as soon as someone not dead uses DS? I'm kinda mad about that.

So it says One Obsession per match, I'm thinking if you've ALREADY killed the Obsession and the perk procs I'm pretty sure it won't deactivate if someone uses D-Strike, that makes no sense to deactivate your perk.

This is a buff to STBFL and PWYF because you can kill your Obsession and not use those perks anymore but then bam you get a new one and can get stacks again. Of course in some situations that can be a downside.

  • @not_Queen said:

Thanks, I'm excited for future Obsession perks that could potentially have this mechanic. I'm really excited for this change, I'll actually use the perk now.

  • @TheBean said:
I like you idea... but I think it should be a bit different. This idea could actually help with a few other issues the game has. One in particular, the grind.

    With your idea, what if...

Remove all the tiers in perks, remove all tier 2 abilities. Make all perks for survivor tier one only. Then each perk has a tier 2, (the old tier 3), which can only be activate when carrying a lantern. (obviously some perks might need to be adjusted a bit to make this work, but you get the idea.)

Now the grind is only for 1 perk per level, and not having to grind out to three tiers of each perk.

Keep the default of only 2 lanterns per match, unless offerings are put out on either side to remove or add one more lantern.

Then for a survivor to "soup" up their perks, they need to get and carry a lantern in the match. Which shows the killer they are souping up their perks and makes them a target. When hooking that survivor, the lantern returns to its stand. The killer has the option to go and destroy it... Or not.

The killer doesn't have to destroy the lantern, cause the effect is the survivors can only bring up their perks to the highest level of the perk. Which is no different then that survivor taking all tier 3 perks now.

Add in a point bonus for the survivor carrying the lantern.
Add in a point bonus for the killer destroying the lantern.

Now for killers what do you do?... How do they get some bonus on their perks?... They don't need one, just make the perks only one tier and either use the tier 3 version or tier 2 version.

That way there is a secondary objective for both sides... More so for survivors to waste time looking for lanterns. Also it removes the grind in the game... or at least lowers it enough to make it easier for new people to get in.

Interesting, it's a boost but a necessary boost, that's prett cool.

  • These effects are not really a huge detriment to the game, and lasting only 60 seconds it's even weaker. Exhausted is always a good effect but Mangled is only useful if they're injured and if everyone is healthy it's not really negative. It's a cool perk I just don't think it's all that useful.

  • Interesting, a lot of people have been wanting a killer that uses the lockers and this is pretty cool. She's like Spirit at first but then you realize she's totally different. This is also kind of like the mimic idea people have been wanting as well though you aren't mimicking you're controlling them which is basically the same thing. The best part of this is that SWF teams can be dominated by this instead of it being useless like most mimic ideas are.

I don't know if Foul Stench will be OP or not, this will certainly be better than Spirit Fury as Survivors tend to loop and that pallet will break really fast in a loop. Tormented Empathy is interesting, some Survivors body block during chases or the Survivor tries to get another killed, I don't know if the extra Lunge range is the way to go though. Maybe it is, maybe it could be the edge we need to get that hit, I'd like to see it in action to be sure.

  • It's silly, use a normal attack and you can't use your power, DESPITE THE FACT that using your power on someone who is ALREADY injured gives NO benefit. It's as if the Devs implemented a drawback just so they could create an add-on for it.

It's mostly to just show our dedication to the character. Plus it's kind of noticeable when you get picked up and it sometimes depends on the maps brightness. Plus the bloody claw looks cool :p

How do you guys know it will be a shapeshifter at all? Or are you guys just hoping for a shapeshifter?

Oh I saw before WW1 and I thought pilgrims are before that, how about a Native American but what kind of power? I was going to say astral projection but that's too similar to Spirit's power so I was like shapeshift instead.

I don't think a shapeshifter would be good in this game tbh. Everyone wants a mimic and when I har that I think of this https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/41619/fan-killer-survivor-a-study-in-victimology#latest and I REALLY WANT THIS. It's so damn crafty and creepy.

They should add 4 special hooks per game. When a survivor is hooked on one they lose a random perk. Special hooks can only disable one perk then act as normal hooks. Sabotaging one of these hooks doesnt break it the first time, but disables the ability to remove a perk.

Only one perk may be removed from a survivor per game. What perk is removed is entirely up to RNG.

That sounds interesting, the Killer would need to hussle to those specific hooks which allow body blocking. The hook can be saboed, it's only 1 perk per Survivor, that's cool, a lot more balanced than I was saying. There's a lot of oppurtunities for these ''special hooks'' that keep being brought up in the forums, I hope the Devs take advantage of this system they created.

  • Freddy because he's the only Killer in the bunch that is immortal and the Dream World is his own domain so he has all the power.

Unless you're talking purely what abilities they have in-game. In that case, possibly Legion because they can bleed everyone out while they are fighting each other and don't have time to Mend themselves.

  • When I'm a Survivor I see pipping as a Win, when I'm Killer my Win is determined by how well I play against the Survivors. Even if I get 2 Kills I can still judge it as a loss depending on how I got those kills, it could've been luck and not skill.

I had a match as Pig today and almost got 1 Kill but then a silly Claudette decided to attemtp to get her trap off instead of going for the hatch so I got 2 kills. Despite the 2 kills I still felt it was a loss because I missing my attacks and having trouble catching Survivors so those 2 kills were not really skill based since my first kill was a No Mither...no skill required for them.

There's a couple pretty big differences between survivors searching the map for a totem and a killer searching the map for a lantern. If a survivor needs to cleanse a totem, only a quarter of the team stops progressing on the main objective (generators). If a killer needs to search for a lantern, the killer needs to divert their entire attention to search for it. They basically need to stop killing just to go look for it. While the survivors need to avoid the killer while finding a totem, killers are free to roam the map. While a killer can protect a totem, survivors cannot, the killer could easily down them if they tried to block it.

With the asymmetrical nature of the game, I don't think 'hex' perks would translate well to 'lantern' perks. Killers do not have time to spare, they are constantly on the clock. Survivors have the luxury of slowing things down and remaining undetected while searching for a totem, but a killer does not. If the killer stops to look for it, that greatly reduces the amount of time they have to do their objective and gives the survivors more time to do generators.

Should not be the clock reversed?
Why is the killer on a clock and not the survivors? This would put more pressure on the survivors, what directly would increase their horror and terror.
By limiting the survivors time you would directly determent how long a match can go until it's over.
All of a sudden it's not just all about genrushing, but also, who is gonna distracting the killer and maybe we need to sacrifice someone for the survival of the team.
It would shift the tone of the game more in a dark and grim environment.
What are your thoughts on this?

The game SHOULD be like this, but the problem is that a lot of things about the game would have to changed. I'm all for that and the only way to do it is to introduce it slowly, mostly because it takes a while to get those changes made and done correctly. But then again, those changes could be too big for this game. @AlwaysInAGoodShape has his ultimate fix for the game and I'd link you to the thread but forgot what it was called. All of his ideas would totally fix the game and I really beleive he/she should get into game design.

Thanks for this, I thought of this on the fly and didn't really think about it too hard but the more you look at it it's really broken and unfair. I've just always hated that Survivors can completely disable Killer abilities while Killers can't do anything like that for Survivors, Killers can slow the game but that's different, I don't want to disable Survivor abilities I just don't want Killer abilities to be completely nullified and be 1 perk down.

The problem is that killers can stop survivors from breaking totems generally. And survivors need to find those totems while being cautious. Killers don't need to and can't be stopped in the same way, so the perk would end up actually being extremely weak.

That is true, it wouldn't be fair at all, Killers can stop Survivors from cleansing but Survivors can't stop Killers from doing the same. This was even stupider than I thought it was.

  • D-Strike requires a Safe Hook Rescue/takes a hit for a Survivor

Create a thread with tests currently being done by the team, tests that do not make it into the PTB will be marked with reason for not making it or why it failed etc. This is purely to show the community that the Devs do listen to us and are being heard so if someone comes up with an idea and is tested we know that some of our feedback is actually being looked into instead of being thought of as overlooked and never seen.

Create a single player mode called Massacre Mode which is for Killers only and it's literally just a bloody practice mode where you can pick a Killer and attack simple AI Survivors. No hooks, all Survivors have health bars. This would allow new Killers to practice with their power and get used to it in a forgiving environment before heading into real games. No Bloodpoints are rewarded, all perks and Killers are available since it is entirely seperate from the actual game. Also I say health bars instead of hooks because the team might not be experts in AI so the Survivors could dumb as bricks and having health bars compensate for the most likely easy hooks which would also be removed.

A lot of ther things I could say but these would be the simpler things I would do, the biggest one is the Massacre Mode but we already have a Tutorial and that's a template/base for the Massacre Mode right there so it's already there it just needs to be flushed out.

  • They can both do things somewhat better than the other in areas they are weak in.

Clown has crowd control and slows everyone down, Huntress can injure people.
Clown can slow down loops and use that loop to injure you, Huntress just injures/kills you.
Clown walks faster so his power closes the chase, Huntress is slower and NEEDS the hatchet.

If someone is at a loop with Clown that Clown needs to be good at loops or their bottle is useless, Huntress does not have this problem. I prefer Clown to Huntress because I don't need that slower speed and the larger impact area is very forgiving because I suck at aiming. Also he laughs at everything, hit he laughs, stun he laughs, very jolly person <3

  • Sharp Hand Joe sounds like an uber masochist, sexy.

  • It's not Benedict sadly, I really want to see Benedict and Vigo though.

Possibly it's a Native American who can shapeshift into animals? A snake for stealth, a wolf for a speed attack, etc

NOED and all insta down perks are hot garbage on Legion.

I agree completely with that, it's why I despise NOED on Legion, they refuse to use their power so they can get a down. Yeah more and more it's just sounding cheap.

  • A bunch of Fog Whisperers are going to the DBD headquarters on the 4th I think, there's speculation that they'll fin out who the next Killer is.

I do think an endgame Legion is plausible. However I don't think NOED is the way to go about it.

Instead I would recommend using Remember me since the Legion gets way more hits in than the average killer making him great at getting tokens for it (also for STBFL but that's less useful for Legion)

I'd use Remember me, Blood warden, Mutter and Sloppy butcher/Bloodhound

Normally I'd use thanatiphobia but this is an endgame build so I'll make an exception

Yeah I was thinking STBFL because I met this one Legion who did really good with it, it was in Lery's though so small spaces are good for that. He didn't have NOED but he was using the double cooldown and that perk and it was fine for him. He told me he'd recommend it for close encounters, thought this buiild would compliment that playstyle.

Remember Me is probably one of the best perks for Legion, that alone is great for Endgame, I'd use Blood Warden but I don't have it yet.

Okay okay you literally have a suicide note on yourself but okaaaaaay but a one question tho.
    Why Vigil?

Yeah that's the point of the build XD a complete masochistic troll build for yourself. I put Vigil to carry home the idea that this crippled hasbeen is supposed to be hlping you, and Vigil means to stand guard and watch over you.

I'd rather have a complete rework that takes the idea of multiple people into account. It was a real lost opportunity.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/41619/fan-killer-survivor-a-study-in-victimology#latest

You should check this out, I think as far as mimicing a Survivor this is as manageable as that idea can get. A lot of people just think you can look like a Survivor but in all honesty the results from that isn't as strong as it sounds so this idea turns it on it's head with something realistic.

Rework A: Deep wounds as anti-spam:

Frenzy will now down injured survivors if they don't have Deep wounds
Deep wounds is faster to mend and never ticks while in the killers terror radius
Legions terror radius is increased to 32 meters
Frenzy is 7% slower than it is now (132% -> 125%). He vaults pallets and windows at 90% (I am willing to make it lower) survivor speed instead of 100% or more (not sure the exact speed right now)

    Rework B: Frenzy as dash:

Feral Frenzy is renamed to Feral Burst
Instead of doing a sprint it does a VERY quick dash for less than a second (think dead hard)
Dashing into a pallet or window does a survivor speed vault
Feral Burst has 3 charges and you gain a charge by hitting a survivor. You also gain a charge every 60 seconds
Using Feral Burst consumes a charge
Legion terror radius is increased to 32 meters
Legion movement speed is increased to 115%

Rework C: Deep wounds as debuff

    Survivors cannot self mend
Deep wounds gradually increases in intensity over 30 seconds. It does not stop ticking while in a chase
Deep wounds decreases movement/vaulting speed up to 10% and all other action speeds by up to 25%
Deep wounds takes 15 seconds to be mended up from 10
Hitting a survivor who has Deep wounds already with frenzy will instantly move the timer 20 seconds forward
    Frenzy itself is otherwise unchanged

REWORK A---It sounds like what we got in the last PTB, injured people took 2 hits from FF to go down and yours is 1.Thought it souns like the normal DW on a healthy Survivor so tthere's that but it still sounds more powerful.

REWORK B---I like this one but it sounds like his power is basically a lunge. Instead of Lunging you use this, this still sounds awesome because you can use it to jump a pallet and that's basically the best part of the power, jump the pallet and hit them. This would be the easiest and simplest solution but it would take away everything special about Legion, the adrenaline fueled sprint of slashing that need metal music.

REWORK C---I'm kind of confused about this one, I love that it debuffs repair speed and makes them slower, makes perfect sense they just got GUTTED. But they still have to Mend, so do they still go down if they don't Mend or is the DW only for the action speed? If it's action speed and movement only then holy ######### this might be the way to go!

-Fredward: Class Photo—I think this should replace his default reading. People need to learn to stop tunneling with Freddy.

This, there are SO many times where I force myself to do this because it feels so natural and the right thing to do as Freddy. You never JUST put one person in the Dream World, the more people you put in the stronger you are and the slower the Gens get done, and you can keep track of everyone at all times. But of course, without Class Photo you just have to hope you find the next person before the last wakes up.

So the power is cool but tbh it isn't really enough, it isn't detrimental to the game or the Survivors, no game changer. They have debuffs but they are debuffs they deal with all the time with other Killers and reaslly they don't care about them.

A power needs to change the game for Survivors, for example, Clown's bottles slow them down, when used at pallets they can be attacked before they reach it and get downed at all loops much faster. Myers has an instadown, Spirit is unpredictable and no one knows if she's phasing or standing still until oop she's right there and that causes paranoia in Survivors.

Your lunge perk is cool, very helpful tbh.

Your rusty hook Broken perk is awesome, the Killer's versian of Deliverance.

Your Gen perk though might be too strong, Overcharge makes it explode but yours Exposes them, gives their location, and regresses the Gen. I think you get Exposed even if you do get the skillcheck? If so and the Killer also has Surveillance well evryone's dead with that combo.

Forgot to add, the exhaustion infliction will punish those with dead hard... Hindered means you can't go far... Mangled means it takes longer to heal along with haemorphage making it easier for Plague to track you...
Broken means you can't heal at all... It could change the game madly... However, as a wise man said, ' I think that the disease could benefit from having a fixed effect that slowly gets worse overtime'...

You can edit posts by clicking the gear icon in the corner somewhere. Missing the skill check on that perk makes sense now, a lot better. They'll think it's Overcharge but oops you're Exposed, I would love that. Looking at the power again, it is pretty cool because Exhaustion perks are gone, they could be blinded and this makes this Killer a natural at slugging, making them Broken would be huge. I think maybe you should add in a action/repair speed debuff as well into the mix because it looks like most of the time they'll be blinded, Exhausted and maybe Broken or Exposed, most of those are manageable but maybe adding this in too could make it more powerful.
