Yeah 4 common masks with a value of 900 shards each so we got 2400 shards for free (900*4=3600)
Imagine using logic on this forum. Begone, heathen!

It's been said before but the premium track is essentially free if you manage to get to tier 70, which used to be an insane grind and a huge drag but as of the latest few rifts, it really isn't anymore. Last rift I often played only two games per day or there were days I didn't even play at all and I still made it to tier 70 in time.
I'd like to imagine many people out there play more than I do, so I'm confident in saying the whole thing is basically free after you've bought it once.
-
I've not found the hatch on this map many times before, but I'm sure that's just because I couldn't find it rather than that it actually wasn't spawned. It can spawn in some unusual spots on that map, including the literal corner of the map.

What are you talking about? Are you that guy who said that streamers should pay every person they play with a few months ago. Their pay is completely disconnected from you playing against them. They get payed, IF they get payed, it's because of their personality or because they are good at the game or a mixture of both. People aren't showing up to the stream and watching and subbing or donating because they played with you.
Lmao I remember that guy. That was a wild read back then.

Lmao, that little gasp as well. 😆

"No one is even talking about this"
This is the third post I've read about it. 🙃

Playing devil's advocate here but if you focus on one survivor at a time and you don't care about prestiging, the grind isn't actually that insane. I have all five survivors I care about fully unlocked and I'm now throwing away bloodpoints on killers I might play one day.
I do agree it could be much better, but if you really want to play a certain survivor, it doesn't take that long to unlock decent perks.
-
That honestly sounds super cool. I don't know if it could work but the idea itself just sounds super cool.
-
I personally can't be bothered because there's no archive going on at the moment. I find it a waste of time to play this game when there's no goal I'm playing towards...
-
This is the first Sluzzy post I've read that doesn't feel like a troll post and that I actually agree with.
Oh my god.

Saying he was roughtly were they wanted him was simply to acknowledge the ludicrous notion that people used to spout that he was the most balanced killer in the game. You know the killer who had complete map control, an instadown, really good addons, decent default perks and barely any kind of cooldown. That apparently was balanced. How could new killers compete without having the same?
The cooldown brought him into line with other killers. They did over-nerf his addons though.
I never understood that. People used to call him the 'golden standard of balance for all killers'. Completely bonkers if you ask me, he destroyed my team in every single game he was in. I was fairly okay at looping him myself, but all it took was one person on the team to be bad at going against him and you had no chance of escaping because of the sheer pressure his mobility provided. Try finishing the last gen with only three people still alive in solo queue against an instadown killer who could be everywhere in a matter of seconds.
I remember those days well, he was my most hated killer in the game because solo queue didn't stand a chance. Overreaction by the Billy players or not, I'm glad he's gone.
Edit: forgot to mention he has an instadown on top of his mobility.
-
I literally just started prestiging characters because I have nothing else to do with my points. I've been playing for two years. Prestiging is not something you need to do.
-
I always just accepted it was a bicep without actually considering how that would be a super random image to pair with that perk. My mind is blown indeed.
-
I always felt like they should have left it at eight knives needed instead of six. Six feels like nothing sometimes.
-
I still have fun as Nemesis, whacking people with my tentacle. I really don't care about kills or hooks or anything, I just want to whip people. Really the only time I can get annoyed playing killer is when I have a challenge that requires me to win / do well.
-
I don't agree with this.
In the worst case scenario with old Undying you had to cleanse all five totems, which is something you still don't have time for. It's the same reason people complain about NOED: either you spend the time looking for all five totems and you die because now you don't have time to get the gens done, or you don't spend the time hunting for totems and you die to NOED.
To use a boon totem, you literally just need to find one totem and you can keep coming back to it as often as you like. On top of that, you will typically find at least one totem without actively having to look for it. You don't have to spend the time trying to find the more well hidden totems.

Thats what i do. Only two exceptions.
1. If i am behind i slug the unhooked.
2. Unhooker has bt and refuses/blocks me from going after unhooker. You want my attention now you have it.
I do try to take a hit for the person who just unhooked me when they have BT, not because I want the killer's attention but because I feel like I owe it to the guy who saved me.

My boyfriend bought the Ghostface skin because he's a Ghostface main for some reason.
I have yet to see either of them myself though. Maybe if not every game was against Blight and Huntress, I would...

I have yet to play against her. 🙃

I have yet to face her... 🙃 Everyone's talking about how survivors already know how to counter her and I'm going to be the potatiest potate you've ever seen when I finally play against her.

The ONLY issue I had with this killer was the chains interrupting you while you solved the box. That ######### made absolutely zero sense. Everything else was great.
I remember complaining about that and people told me I just had to 'time it correctly', which in combination with the extra solving time addons was literally impossible, which then went on to me already having revealed my location by attempting to solve the box and the Pinhead already being on his way to interrupt me manually. Which has to be the worst experience I've ever had in this game.
I'm not sure the solving time addons still needed a nerf now that the bug will be fixed. I honestly hate Pinhead so I'm not complaining at all about these nerfs, but I feel like they should have tried that first.

You hit the nail on the head, I am consumed with overwhelming despair when I play survivor. With just a little bit of hope, perhaps I could overcome it. However, I know the endeavor is fruitless and I just give up and accept my fate because this game belongs to the killer mains. Nothing I can do will alter the outcome of destiny. I am just helpless, a soon to be corpse; the killers play thing. An instrument for their fun.
I laughed my ass off reading this, thanks.

Survivors can completely counter Monstrous Shrine once they know you have it. They'll just unhook and then never get downed near basement again.
Agitation and Iron Grasp can still get you to the basement from quite a distance, ofc depending on the size of the map.
I know it's a tiny map, but I had a basement challenge on Dead Dawg's once and got all ten of my basement hooks in one game, despite them actively trying to go down as far from the basement as possible.

I was actually playing some games as Trapper today and had some hacking survivors doing all sorts of crazy things like speed hacking, ignoring traps, jumping in the air, etc.
I was on Haddonfield for one game and my Ruin totem was still up, but the gens weren't regressing. I tried to damage the generator and could not. I didn't think anyone was hacking on that game though and think it was just a visual glitch. When you say Ruin was still affecting gens, did you see the progress bar go down? Or, just the sparks coming off the gens?
The bar was going down, yes, it wasn't just the effect.

You don't typically wiggle off anyway, so getting punished for pressing the same key twice isn't really an issue for me.

Both of the Bubbas that did this in my games today got a 4k and spammed the chat with 'EZ EZ EZ EZ EZ'. I like to think they got destroyed by the survivors in the previous game and they needed this to restore their pride. I've been on a bit of a break from the game before this event, so my mental state is great and I genuinely don't care about this, but I can imagine I will start caring if the games keep up like this.

I hate to confirm this but both games I've played since the event started were camping Bubbas.

Guess I'm the opposite because I run in more now to save someone since at worse I lose mmr which means lower mmr killers and at best I save them and we escape. I don't get why people want to force their mmr up and face sweatier matches, I guess some people prefer those kind of matches.
It's not so much about facing sweatier killers, it's about having competent teammates. I'm afraid of having lower mmr and playing with potatoes that cause my mmr to drop even lower because now I can't escape anymore.
-
I had a game exactly like this yesterday where I had the gate 99'd and my only remaining teammate was on hook and I simply left. I felt awful about it but I figured there was a big chance I would get myself killed and I hated the idea of losing mmr over it.
-
I actively told my boyfriend not to start playing this game because he was going to lose all the time and it takes forever to get somewhat decent at it. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone just because of how painful it is to learn.
But ofc he wanted to prove me wrong and he started playing anyway. Now he loves it.

I have played on only indoor maps for two days straight as both survivor and killer.

"but because the chains were already spawning I straight up couldn't solve it without getting interrupted constantly."
I'm seeing a lot of players say this because they don't understand how the power works. Of course you're going to struggle if you don't know how the power works and make mistakes due to the lack of knowledge.
There's a delay in-between chain spawns and new ones can't spawn once you start solving the box. The only way for it to interrupt you is if it spawns right before you start solving as there's also a delay before it shoots from the portal.
When you want to solve the box make sure you dodge the next chain first then start solving as soon as you dodge it. Getting hit does not stop the spawn timer for the next chain afaik, so if you do get hit by a chain, break it and the follow-up chains, dodge the next chain, then solve.
Do not solve immediately upon pickup or spam solve, wait for the dodge.
The box, and by extension the chain hunt, is actually very easy to solve if Pinhead himself doesn't stop you. Hence why Hoarder became a popular perk for him in the first place.
That's actually some solid advice there, I'll try it out and see if it helps me. :)

@feechima said:
I find Pinhead annoying to go against for the same reason I hated going against Blights when he first came out. 90% of the players are using the same hoarder/Franklins build and the chain hunt is constant. On larger maps it is a pain to get to the box in time so having it in your possession (and the killer usually has duration add ons that make it slower to solve) is almost impossible before someone is hooked. On smaller maps Pinhead runs into his box even when you are not holding it and the chain hunt begins.
Then I hear there are people that play him so much they know where the lament configuration spawns right off the bat. Haven't seen this yet, but that sounds like a nightmare too. When people first played Pinhead they would teleport constantly, now they don't teleport because hoarder tells them you've picked up the box and they just interrupt you solving it, pick it up, chain hunt and down you because 50 million chains keep spawning. The constant need to break chains is the most annoying thing I have ever faced in this game and I've played it off and on for over three years. Don't get me wrong, its good tactics, but tedious and boring as all get out.
Also, playing solo and even with a two man, I have found my teammates don't want to pick up the box so I end up taking aggro even while injured. There can literally be a full health person running around during chain hunt like their behind is on fire and the rest is catching.
This is exactly how I feel as well. I'm glad there are others out there who feel the same way. :)
I actually faced one of those Pinheads before. He found his own box within like ten seconds and a chain hunt started right away. It was horrible. I actually blame a certain famous Youtuber for that one, posting a video explaining exactly how to do it. As if this killer wasn't frustrating enough yet...

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/285174/i-dont-like-playing-against-pinhead
Pinhead is extremely addon dependant. Ive only ever lost to him when hes using engineers fang and impaling wire and mostly when i was queueing solo. His other addons are strong but not OP or game breaking for me and thus they can be countered easily. The iri lament config if solo isnt always easy to deal with but 4/5 times at least 3 members of the team will still get out for me.
In an swf, hes a pure joke. Ive never died to him in an swf of 3 people minimum.
The chain hunt can be annoying but its also fairly easy to avoid. And any good survivor who is up against Pinhead who isnt using the iri config will know as and when to go grab the box. Especially a SWF. My swf teams never have issues with chain hunts because of coordination and who goes to get it.
If he is close to you when you have the box, then you run as far away from him as possible. Thats what we do, and thats what most survs do that play against me. Trying to open the box while his terror radius is heard is silly. Position yourself behind walls so he cant chain you and it takes time to reach you to hit you. Im sorry but this is totally a you problem here. Teleporting to you isnt an issue either, as i said, hide behind walls and pallets and you should get away easily enough. He doesnt spawn on top of you and you have a second to run before he appears. If you dont know where hs coming from, move your camera around? I dont know what to suggest here, it just sounds like poor play and is a total non issue.
Holding the box stops chain hunts and the timer, but the longer you hold onto it, chains will spawn on you, however these are not that annoying, its kind of a trade off.
The whole ruin topic is just how it is. When the person with the box is found/downed then it interrupts what you are doing with the 3 chains. Its his slowdown mechanic and quite frankly, its pisspoor as the chains are so easily broken. The fact you were doing ruin is just unlucky, but again this shows poor play from you. Instead of waiting and then finding the box, you preffered to stay on the ruin for the BP instead of coming back to it when it was safe. Thats what its all about. You find the box, solve it, and it creates a safe time for you to do gens and totems.
The majority of issues you have seem to be entirely tied to you and your playstyle. You are not adapting your style to the killer, which is what so many survs moan about. They seem to want every killer to be the same and easy to figure out. Learn from what you're doing, if its not working, change your style. Maybe play Pinhead as a killer because thats how you truely learn how to survive killers, by watching others survive you and adapting methods they use to escape you into your own game.
I get what you are trying to say about Pinhead countering my personal playstyle, but I can't agree with this being 'totally a you problem'.
First of all, you can't hear his terror radius when you have the box, so how am I supposed to know whether he's close or far? Secondly, I do position myself behind walls before trying to solve the box, which is exactly why I can't see where he's coming from sometimes. If I'm standing in a jungle gym, he could be anywhere. And I am still of the opinion chains shouldn't continue to spawn while solving the box, because that's straight up impossible.
Part of your post also explains how easy he is to deal with in SWF. I play solely solo queue, so there's that. A killer that focuses on 1v4 rather than on 1v1 is always going to be easy to beat when you can communicate and coordinate with your team, which is literally not how the game is supposed to be played, but that's another discussion entirely.
As a final note, all of these things might be counterable and playing the killer myself might teach me how to do that better. However, being able to counter it does not make it fun to play against. He's the most infuriating killer ever released into this game.
-
@Squirrel_Thicc said:
You're not alone. He's by far become my least favorite killer to play against in the entire game.
I felt it the moment they revealed his mechanics that he was going to be horrible to play against. Sadly, I was not wrong.
And even more sadly, unlike the previous bunch of killers that was released that nobody ever plays, I seem to run into him constantly.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I don't particularly like playing against him either, I'm 100% solo queue.
Thankfully I haven't seen one in the past couple of weeks.
They tend to be either really good or really bad, skill level doesn't bother me though I like playing against good nurses for example.
If I get the box my team tends to do very little if I leave it i'll get chained forever because most teammates wont touch it
That's usually how it goes, yes.
I had one game where my team took care of the box and not a single chain hunt happened all game. It felt pretty nice and three of us escaped. I feel like that's how it's supposed to be, but there's so many reasons why this never actually happens (solo queue being solo queue, addons, ...).

Of course you don't enjoy going against Pinhead. I don't either.
His kit is absolutely littered with Crowd Control that prevents you from doing what you want or need to do. He's also got several mechanics that punish you for mistakes that you personally didn't make. To top it all off, some of that Crowd Control shows up without him doing anything to get it. None of those things feel good to face off against. As far as terrible design decisions go, I'd say he's worse than live Spirit and a bit less terrible than Plague.
Agreed.
I feel like some slight changes could make him a lot more enjoyable / less horrible to go against. The main thing I'm thinking of is stopping chains from spawning when solving the box. I thought that was a bug at first, because I really don't want to believe that's intended.
-
@KnotEnthusiast said:
The only time I don't enjoy Pinhead is when they're running the "meta" hoarder, Franklins, double solve time build. It removes all the "skill" part of his kit, and just makes it so that you're constantly under his passive while he just holds W. It's the Ruin Undying Tinkerer syndrome, where rather than commit to interesting chases he just waits until someone triggers his perks, then he gets a free hit and starts the hunt. His passive is the stronger, but far less engaging part of his kit, and its immensely frustrating that its the part that people focus on.
You summed that up pretty nicely.
I just had a game against a regular Pinhead, without that addon and without the annoying perks, and it was actually not too bad of an experience.

Reviving my own thread to add that the iridescent addon that hides the box aura until the chain hunt begins is the pinnacle of unfun.
I ran all around the map trying to find the box but no luck. The chain hunt started, so I saw the box and picked it up, but because the chains were already spawning I straight up couldn't solve it without getting interrupted constantly. This gave the Pinhead plenty of time to simply walk up to me and slap it out of my hands with Franklin's, starting the entire process of unfunnery again.
Lovely design.

@KingFrost said:
My problem with Pinhead is that my solo queue teammates NEVER go for the box. So I always have to get it, whether I'm injured or not. And usually Pinheads run Hoarder so they'll know where to find me even if I just hold on to it.

Pinhead has one of the highest skill ceiling imo. A good Pinhead will make the match pretty frustrating with good chains and consistent box spawn predictions.
The best you can do against the chainhunt is solving the cube while someone else is in chase. Most killers will not switch up midchase. And of course hope your mates do know when to go for the cube as well which will most likely never happen in solo q. Chain hunt is carrying the whole killer too much imo.
I agree the chain hunt is what carries him. In chase, I find that even if I do get hit by his power, I can just break the chains and keep running without losing too much distance.
-
@GenJockeyNance said:
When he teleports to me, I never know exactly where he's going to be coming from, which often results in him getting a free hit.
He always teleports in front of you. When you solve the box, I highly recommend solving it by or at a loop - always expect the Pinhead will teleport (some don't... most Pinheads do but some don't for some reason). Being caught in the open solving the box will grant him a free hit.
In the few complaint posts I've found, I've seen people say that all you have to do is hold onto the box and solve it when he's carrying someone or when he's mid chase. Does simply holding the box stop the chains from spawning all the time? If not, what are you supposed to do in the meantime?
If you're referring to kidnapping the box... you can but you have to be super alert of your surroundings as some Pinheads will just creep up on you without teleporting for a free hit cuz the box makes you oblivious. Holding the box hostage has a price though: You alone get bombarded with chains until you solve it or Pinhead gets it from you so yeah the chains stop for your teammates but not the box holder. The most important thing about solving the box is being smart when solving it. The best times to solve it is when he's carrying someone to a hook or really committed to a chase or if you solve it in an area that's of no importance to him aka where all gens are finished.
As for an example of why I think he's super frustrating to play against, in the game I just played, I finally found his Ruin and started cleansing it. The person carrying the box went down at around the 90% mark and it interrupted my cleanse. I tried cleansing it after that but the constant chains spawning prevented me from doing so and alerted the killer to my position.
Yeah.. that's super annoying I agree. Lol he can be just super annoying to go against depending how good the Pinhead is. A Pinhead in the right hands... good luck ever solving that damn box lol
But uh some tips? I'm not very good at countering Pinhead yet but! If you didn't know, the chains break on the environment so if you're chained and go through like, I don't know, trees or the corner of a building, the chains will break. I'm not sure if you're on console or PC but console the break chain button is the same as vault so a console player has to be super careful while breaking chains not to accidentally vault right back into Pinhead's loving arms.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that!
I had no idea he always teleports in front of you. Mostly because I do try to solve the box near jungle gyms so I have something to work with, and then he spawns behind a wall and I run into him... :)
I also had no idea the box holder stops the chains spawning for everyone else. The main problem with that is that in solo queue, the other people rarely go for the box. So if I get the box or not, I have chains bothering me either way.

When you take the box hostage the chains will hunt only you and not the team but it's get more aggressive the longer you hold it hostage.
I actually find him to be quite a balanced killer. He's fun to play, fun to play against.
He has the best 4v1 in the game for a killer and that's something you need to remember here. A lot of what you're saying seems to come across that you find him frustrating in your 1v1. The games not a 1v1 it's a 1v4 and he just has the mechanic for it.
With Ruin, you stuck around too long. You need to get the box, and then cleanse the ruin again that's his 1v4.
Someone must always be on the box with pinhead, it's just how it is, and that's a good mechanic to have it's another objective for the survivor, and killer as both sides obtaining the box is beneficial.
So long as the box is down, you're fine. When he hits a chain, just simply dodge as best you can, and use the environment to break them.
Keep facing him and eventually you'll get better.
Thanks for your reply! There's definitely some useful things in there. Yeah, I guess I did stick around too long for that Ruin, but the game was going downhill fast and we really needed it gone.

I understand the strategy, but it's insanely frustrating for a killer to play against someone like this. I know I absolutely hate it.
It's zero fun, especially if they are playing Claudette/another 'camo' character and means that both of us get less BP. On certain killers, there is no real way to respond to it and 'hide and seek' becomes very tedious.
I probably wouldn't have raged at you, but I'd certainly be tunneling you to death if I ever saw you again.
I get where you are coming from, but allow me to clarify a few things.
I was playing as Felix with the bright orange ski outfit, so it's not like I went out of my way to be super stealthy in that regard. I was using Fixated and Spine Chill, it's one of my favorite perk combinations. Being able to quickly walk away from a gen you're working on, and doing so with a head start because of Spine Chill, is very powerful. It's how I managed to do gens without being detected.
It's a strategy I like to use sometimes because I'm not always confident in my looping game. I can hold my own in chase about half the times but if I'd rather avoid the killer, if possible. Now, I'm also not the kind of stealth player that simply lets their team die, if I see I'm the only one that hasn't been hooked yet, I'm aware I need to take pressure off my team so I will try to get caught on purpose. That particular game, however, my team was dying so fast at the start I didn't even have time to get myself caught between unhooking.
I understand it can be frustrating for the killer, to know for a fact someone's there but you can't find them and you can't afford to spend time looking for them. We've all been there before. And I would have been completely fine with being tunnelled out of the game, because I've also been there before. When you finally find that pesky stealthy survivor, you don't want to let them out of your sights again.
But being forced out of hiding by slugging the other survivor, not being allowed to be unhooked, the nodding the killer did while I was on hook and seeing the other survivor, whom I knew had done significantly less than I had that game, get hatch... I remember feeling annoyed for a solid thirty minutes after that game.
