  • You guys really should have sme real breakfast instead of junk cereals. Beef, mushrooms, a few eggs. Cereals are not good for you.

  • Tunnel my friend, tunnel :)

    Honestly i don't know what i am.

@George_Soros lol i came up with that name about 15 years ago or so. The reason why i chose that name is still a secret :)
    I assumed you were Vietnamese.
And had a taste for small rodents :)
  • Only when I'm playing Wraith. It's Ebony time then. So funny to camp 10 meters away then hunt down and mori the freshly saved one.

Other than that, it's so much better to score at least a 2-3K using only brown addons and offering.
  • If Chucky is too small, we may have to settle for something bigger. Marshmallow Man perhaps?
  • Nurse, obviously. I hate that sucker. I'm pleased to say though, I very often 4k with Freddy. Guy has much more potential than people seem to think.
But Spirit is a good one too.

Those of us who don't lobby dodge ever know the sweet taste of slaughtering a full SWF team, after being genrushed, with the help of BW and their own crazy altruism. Wouldn't pass up on that kind of fun :)

Did you just say that you can't beat a SWF group before they finish the gens and you have to rely on them making mistakes when the exit gates are open? :)

    No I did not.

Then why did you mention this example? The obvious thing to say would be that you don't have a problem against a SWF with multiple DCs and insta-heals and you win anyways.

But I don't always win. It's just so stupid to back away from a match when it looks like it's gonna be hard. I like it hard. I often get destroyed by well organized teams who are on comm. But this is what makes the occasional victory worthy.

If you play against a SWF group with DCs, insta-heals etc. and you lose: Do you think you lose because you are not a good enough killer?

    Yes.

Are you a Nurse or did you bring an Ebony Mori?

Clown, Freddy, Wraith, Spirit. Rarely use mories. Why?

Because you think you lose because you are not a good enough killer even when there is a SWF group with DCs and insta-heals.

You would only be half-right if you were a super good Nurse. Since you are not playing Nurse, you are wrong. If you win against those teams, it's because they mess up. You don't have a fair chance.

There's never a "fair chance". A lot depends on luck. You gotta win. If you lose, you have to ask "what can I do to do better next time". Or we can cry "unfair" but no one gives a #########, and why should anyone? Nothing is "fair", that's an artificial concept.

Life sometimes isn't fair but this is a video game. And in a game, unbalance is unfairness. And the community and the devs should care very much about getting this game to a balanced state.

Not everyone is willing to play matches they have no chance winning and what that means is clear to see. Just take a lot at the queue times for survivors.

I agree there's a lot to be done for balance in this game. But even if the devs did their best, dbd is never gonna be even remotely balanced. Too many variables. I just take any match as it comes, and try not to sweat it. There's always a chance of winning.
  • @Vortexas stop being silly. "Random" means anything to you? And why aren't you whining about Surveillance or Dance With Me? Hm?

I am not judging though but still...

Don't you EVER call me a furry or I will find out where you live, come to your house, and skin you alive.

I wish the forum had a downvote system like reddit. Seriously, threatening someone? Not cool, man. Not ######### cool at all.

For the record, if you ever try to come to MY house, furry, and you won't make it through the door.

Geez, he could not possibly be more OBVIOUSLY joking. Or you're willing to believe he'd find out where someone lives and actually flay that person? For calling him a furry?

Some people are so dense. Btw. Threatening on the internet is hilarious. I don't know why is this taken so seriously. Real dangerous people act, not talk, especially not from behind a keyboard.

If you disagree, I'll burn your house down, with you in it.

Out of curiosity: I see PLENTY of players using "fox" in their nicks. Much more than any other animal, and both here in the forums and when I'm playing. "Vietfox", "Suicidefox", "Kitsune", "狐狸", and a lot of other nicks I've seen using "fox" as their nick or part of it.

What's this guys? What's this obsession with foxes? Why not weasels or opossum? Armadillos are cute too.

For a second there I thought you put in 狐神 and was surprised that somebody actually saw me in game using that name and remembered it. Though either way, I'm impressed you know what 狐 means.

Personally, I think of foxes as cunning, mischevious, and playful. Personality traits I like to think are similar to my own. Though I'm sure there's a variety of reason people are fans of foxes. The song What Does the Fox Say made them popular meme material. They're adorable enough to be popular on their looks alone. And they're one of the more popular animals in the furry community.

Yeah fair points. I love how they're depicted in Asian folklore: the trickster and rival of the tanuki in Japan, and the Fox Fairies in Chinese tales. And of course here in Europe they have similar reputation like you said.

Still find it weird, gamers often choose nicks referring to strength rather than cunning. I guess it must be the uniqueness of this game, when playing survivor: you can't quite succeed through violence, only through smarts.

  • Am I the only one who finds this funny? If it becomes an epidemic by trollish players, sure, we have a problem. But the occasional meme is hilarious.

  • I don't get it. Samination is sooooo unfunny. Goes for the most obvious all the time. Not drawn well either (I know it's not supposed to be Ghibli level artistic, but should be more creative.)
    Just an opinion, obviously.
  • Better question is why isn't there more fluffys. :D

Quite right :) Fluffies are adorable. I always liked them as a child. Those loveable squeaks they do when strangled, those begging, hopeless eyes when their toes are removed by a clipper.
Nowadays I'm mostly into burning them. So interesting to watch how they first freeze, then suddenly become loud and agitated. Very agitated.

Anyway, back to foxes. Any more insight, anyone?
  • Playing killer is for people who love punishment.
    That's me :)
  • @NekoGamerX a few things to consider

    - If you're new, queues take longer. Try to rank up fast (shouldn't be too hard)
    - If no survivor shows up for 1-2 minutes, close your lobby and open a new one. Sometimes there's some kind of bug, preventing anyone from joining.
    - And finally, where are you located? Plenty of players from Europe, here should be no problem. Probably the same with most US regions, not sure. But if you live in Kiribati or Lesotho... may want to consider moving :)
  • You suck.

Yeah what a sweet taste, knowing that not your skil won the game, but rather the survivors stupidity

Oh cork it you demented sod. This game is hardly about skill. 40% of success depends on rng (totem spots for example), another 40% on experience (simply how many hours one has wasted playing, hardly something to be proud of), and MAYBE the remaining 20 is really about reflexes, quick thinking, analytic skills or whatever.

Just forget about the illusion that the game is somehow "skill based".

basement exit bodyblocking, tunneling, camping, abusing of their unstable ping to hitting over windows and pallets, trapping the totems with one way accessibility, dribbling, avoiding hatch spawn by ignoring dying survivors on the grounds, walking backward/sidewalk to terminate of chasing (traps and deep wounds times) and many other things.

    Wake up!

None of these are really scummy or exploits, maybe with the exception of moonwalking with DW. Please don't compare stuff that are so different.
This loop IS broken (although I'm with those who say just drop the chase when it's hopeless).
  • JanTheMan said:
Never got why Lithe only activated during chase, considering how broken the chase mechanics can be at times.

Exactly that. That's the biggest problem with Lithe.
  • Occasionally. Feels bad destroying a full group only to learn later they were 3 rank 12-s and a single rank 3.
I always assumed that quickly filling lobbies is a priority over putting people of similar ranks together, which is btw not such a bad thing: I remember I didn't mind at all being pitted against higher rank players when I was new. You learn faster that way.

One thing bugs me much more: I don't know why, but the matchmaking algorithm often puts a full team of Japanese or Koreans in my lobbies. Makes no sense, I'm from Eastern Europe, so my ping with them is well over 300. I can't imagine why, you'd think location based filtering is the simplest thing. Quite annoying, really.

  • Removing RBT is minigame enough for me :)
But yeah, some side objectives would be neat. Something that rewards a bit of extra BP or maybe even Iridescents and helps prevent genrush. Totems are fine and good, but not enough.

  • @Milo said:
I mean 3 seconds of a gate is a lot of precious time. And infinite aura reading if you're opening a gate? That's just too good for any SWF group!
We need to remove this asap or nerf it super hard.

    @George_Soros I'd say i do it

Finally, someone can identify the real problems of DBD, and not afraid to speak up against it either.
Honestly, this super overpowered perk has already made me take a break from the game. Along with other crutch perks like Boil Over and Slippery Meat, survivors clearly have the upper hand. It's beyond unfair.

@NoShinyPony like @perotx said, the downside is the reduced charges and the fact they use up the whole medkit when they're used.

It costs bloodpoints to get a new insta-heal and maybe a brown medkit if the surv doesn't get one from a chest. It's not a downside gameplay-wise.

    @George_Soros said:
here's a suggestion for you: make it create a skill the moment you start healing, with similar success zone as BNP.

Does hitting a skill check really require skill? That change would be better than no change at all but I don't think it's enough.

You could compare it to DS: This perk is heavily discussed because the only downside/risk is that the player could miss the skillcheck but the reward is super high. Some people say the perk is okay the way it is, others don't. DS and insta-heals aren't that different when it comes to their effect on a match. But DS at least consumes a perk slot while an insta-heal can be brought as an additional add-on.

Maybe. I get mad sometimes when a survivor slips away in endgame thanks to an instaheal, but I don't think this is one of the most pressing issues. Guess we weigh the problem differently.

Mmh... Imho, insta-heals are even more game-breaking than DS, and DS is heavily discussed.

I want to talk about unbalanced things since they are keeping people from playing killer. You probably know that lobby waiting times for survivors have been pretty bad for a while since not enough people play killer. In order to solve this problem, a lot of things need to be reworked.

I'm not sure what to say. It's a one time use item. That's very restricting. Adrenaline is way more threatening, especially since the completely unnecessary change that it can kick in when someone is unhooked. And there are plenty other things.
When I play survivor, I'd much rather take Gel Dressings and either a speed increase addon or another extra charges addon, because it's so much stronger than an instaheal. Having an item that is gone after one use is not that beneficial for a survivor.

As for waiting times: I guess I'm in a lucky region, but hardly ever have problems either as killer or survivor. People not loading, that's a bigger issue but that's purely technical.

  • @drunky26 get better. That's the only thing you can do. It's obvious that when we get mad over endgame chat, it's not really about the trash talk, it's about us losing. Don't lose. See how mouthy they are once you managed to destroy them. Ignore their rules (the usual stuff about camping, tunneling, playing scummy, whatever). Your duty is not to adhere to whatever rules others make up about "fairness" and such nonsense. Your duty is to annihilate survivors. They're vermin. They're worthless.

That's generally a good rule for life too by the way. Win, always. Destroy anyone in your way. Losing is never "bad luck" or "having dealt a bad hand", it's a moral failure. If they defeat you, you deserve whatever insults come your way. It's the winner's right.
