Myers is an odd duck. He depends so much on perks and addons and gets looped to pieces on some maps.

Trapper is the same - I'm not a fan of him and refuse to play him without Bloody Coil and Spring addons.

If you enjoy Trapper...please consider giving Hag a try. She's my go to 'I'm having a bad day' killer.

Myers haves been my favorite since I started back in 2018. I'm sure it has alot to do with been a huge halloween fan.

He didn't feel any better like it was nice to have 2 traps base kit but it didn't change his game much.

Hag is ok I've played her a few times and never really felt her.

I was enjoying oni and then I went on a 7 streak of indoor maps.

It's really hard rn to play m1 killers because you can loop them or w them and it Judy wastes so much time.

Which killer(s) do you main, out of interest?

Since CoH arrived, I've had to basically stop playing Wraith and Pig altogether, and even my Demo struggles sometimes.

I've been playing a lot of Plague, Hag and Artist recently, as they are generally more able to reliably apply pressure and get rapid downs before people can instaheal.

I've been playing a lot of Myers lately he's one of my favorite characters and haven't played him in a while, also played around with trapper his buff is nice but thats about it. I played a couple more killers once and went back to playing huntress on console.

    I sympathize.

This game can be maddening to play killer as, especially with people using the snowmen tactically (right when I was starting to learn Ghostface too) and with how BM survivors can be at times.

My biggest gripe though is just how unfriendly some maps are to M1 killers, and how outdated half the roster is - either in terms of bad/boring addons or a bad kit.

Tell me about it. I've been playing some m1 killers lately because there's a few I like and it's been terrible most the time I just get w key and then is I catch them somewhere they can't w away I'm super loopable.

This happens all the goddamn time, BHVR fix your ######### broken MMR system or just remove it FFS

I think is the event the snowman are really a pain. If you hit them you go through your full successful attack animation and that the event for the killer. Survivors can at least jump in the snowman and mess around.

  • @Adjatha said:

Sometimes it hits a full pallet length away, sometimes you'll be right in front and it won't. My guess is that the game snapshots you when the pallet is thrown and doesn't update regularly. So, if you were moving forward when the snapshot happened, it assumes you walked all the way into it. If you were stationary, it doesn't tag you regardless of how close.

I got hit earlier today about half a pallet away. Me and the survivor were standing there and they threw it and I at stun. If something is wrong they need to fix it because it makes pallets unplayable. Even when I make the right move I still lose and eat the stun

  • @ChurchofPig said:

Maybe I'm just being salty because it feels like it happens a lot.

What I'm noticing survivors doing a lot is purposely follow you so after you hook a survivor they can get hit, save while you're in the attack cooldown animation, and then Dead Hard avoiding the hit and getting their teammate hit. Another common scenario is they run you to the hook and then the saved survivor bodyblocks you until they get hit.

Borrowed Time is meant to punish killers that are both camping and tunneling. These scenarios, at the very least from the killers perspective, are not fair Borrowed Time plays. You're doing something to cause the illusion of camping and tunneling when in reality you're just being an a-hole and it feels a lot like perk abuse.

Here's my suggested nerf. If a survivor is hit while borrowed time is active on them and it's a protection hit, borrowed time's endurance is negated and the survivor is downed.

Like I said, maybe I'm just being really salty, but I stg this happens almost every match now and I'm sick of it happening. Survivors shouldn't be getting rewarded for these plays with borrowed time.

Not been salty this is a common problem. Sure bt and ds are just fine when use ad intended but when survivors start to use them offensively is when it's a problem.

just got out of a fun game , i slug all 4 and killed all four .... but that require Surv not do anything for a min or two ... Got me thinking... What if Gen were disable for the first minute of gameplay. This might stop gen rush as much to now a mind game to play a game of hide n seek.

They need to do something about map size. I've been playing some m1 killers lately and 90% of the time I still get w keyed. I'm a loopable killer yet its w to the max. The whole w key meta is because anti loop killers is bs even if your not playing anti loop is w key but worse.

  • Most those maps around its size are bad for killers to be fair. It's so weird because it feels so much bigger then Ormond.

  • @dugman said:

Just to clarify, Eyrie of Crows is 9984 square meters, the same exact size as a bunch of other maps. All the maps below are this size

    • Groaning Storehouse
    • Fractured Cowshed
    • Temple of Purgation
    • Both Yamoka Estate maps
    • Ormond
    • Eyrie of Crows

There are maps larger than all of these as well. All of these maps also have a main larger building in the middle of the map. I think Eyrie is probably most similar to Ormond personally, since they both have bright outdoors, not much grass, and a strong central multifloor building with a few safe pallets and breakable walls. I don’t know exactly where Eyrie falls in the balance spectrum for survivors but Ormond is generally thought to have a higher than average escape rate so it wouldn’t surprise me if Eyrie is similar.

Where are you getting the info from? I heard a couple of people say it's on the wiki but that's about it. The map seems so big.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

This really needs to be looked at...

    The map is SO big,

It has SO many pallets, SO close together as well.

The main building is busted and the breakable walls make it even more painful for killers.

This map is so ridiculous balance wise it is miserable to play on as killer.

People keep saying it's average size but it really seems big. The main building is definitely busted and needs to be looked at.

There's also some strong tiles that can be right out side the window that can be a problem. Other then that it looks nice.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

I know there will be alot of people that will use that stupid excuse "that's the risk of hexs"

In reality why is it even a risk or fair for your hexs to be spawned on and in sight of the survivors. To lose 2 perks within 16seconds is honestly just stupid.

Hexs or totems in general shouldn't just spawn in the open.

Totems should not be spawned on in sight.

Totems and hexs should not spawn near a gen.

I dont think it's unfair or unreasonable to ask for all totems to be hid in some degree. Or if you wanted to go the extra mile block all totems for a small time early game.

I can assure you lullaby and undying isnt game changing.

Corrupt, deadlock,NWO, and pick your 4th don't use hexes.

Well, a streamer is forced to play the game... especially when they have 50+ viewers, they earn money doing so and would loose their viewers and money if they stopped playing.

Only huge streamers with tons of viewers can stop unless they have a deal with the company or something.

Dbd became a sweat fest and lost all the casual aspect that made it so good.

Before SBMM you could loose but still win a pip if you have played well. Now even if you played really well, if you die or don't get 3k, you loose MMR and play with/against potatoes.

Game has now a competitive mindset with a completely casual gameplay relying on RNG and a broken matchmaking + rewarding too much camping/tunneling... Well i do not see the fun about it.

I've seen an increase in BnP and PTS to try and get out as fast as possible to increase chances of escaping. I honestly don't think the gaining mmr off kills is as bad as only escaping for survivors but it's still bad.

  • @Nickeleye said:

Just not enough high mmr killers playing lately. So you get feed to the wolves for entertainment.

I took a semi 2 week break and everytime I get on and play a couple killer matched it seemed like q were getting shorter and now there instant. I think right now it's because of the event and how it sucks on the killer side because all this event is for killers is 1 more thing to m1 and watch survivors goof around.

  • @jesterkind said:

My understanding is that anyone who owns the Stranger Things DLC will still have the original description text, including calling them Demogorgon/Steve Harrington/Nancy Wheeler perks at the top. They were supposed to still have their original perk names, too, but there was some kind of bug regarding that which changed them over or something.

Ok see I didn't know that. It's kind of weird have 2 different flavor text for the same perk in dbd.

  • @bm33 said:

Yes. They are too much fun to goof around in instead of actually playing the game. 😂

I agree there should have been something for killers as well, but I'm having a lot of fun watching survivors doing dumb things on those snowmen.

This game looks so nice for me when i start it for the first time, but now its strange. Theres maps, you can within a minute after the start repair all generators, or maps where killer got you near him everytime. You know, if your tried to play age of empires 2 you can count everything. But how the f**k you can count crazy man that throws unlimited poisons or axes? If you try to avoid poison by running random killer just will catch up with you, and if you focus on escaping, he hits you. There is not enough jungles to avoid this. Only one good solution is just troll by walking around some object, and let killer to leave you alone. Im start thinking this game is so unbalanced. But im trying to learn, this is my opinion. Friday13th got best balancing, but the game is dead and many others too.

Just make mape little more balanced, nerf moving speed while throwing anything or boost survivors and everything will be super.

Sorry to let you know but clown is one of the weakest killers in game doesn't need tweeks. Your best option against an anti loop killer like that is to pre drop the pallet and make distance to a new loop.

Idk how long you've been playing but you sound pretty new. This game doesn't have to much in game info you need to go on YouTube and look up some how to play survivor videos.

When you start the learn the game you'll find that is actually survivor sided in its mechanics.

it's all fun and games and everyone should just chill....., until it's the survivors that get a disadvatage right?

let me guess, the snowman giving a 3th health state to survivors is fine, BUT, let's say that the snowman could get the survivor oneshotted even if in fullhealth, that wouldn't be fine and should be fixed asap right?

    god, these survivors are disgusting.

Right image an evil snowman running around(slightly faster then survivors snowman) with a giant candycane one shoting survivors. Now that would of been fun.

I'm playing an online pvp game and I'm a competitive person so winning is fun for me. How you guys going to tell me what is fun for me?

You know whats not fun having 2 hooks and all 5 gens done in 6 minutes. You know what else I don't find fun been micro flashlight.

It's easy for me: if they play fair, I will too. If they are toxic, I am gonna do my best to kill them all.

if they manage to make me laugh, they will escape. That's why I like to play pig, a lot of players go full meme against piggy.

I mean, try to use flashlight macro once and you will never get from that hook, if I can help it.

Map Offerings will turn me into a jerk you send me to Haddonfield,badhamen,Ormond... etc I'm not playing nice survivors very much know that those maps are a bad time for killer and you clearly don't care about my fun so I don't care about yours.

I don't understand stand why the macro is still a thing. The only propose it serves is to anyone the killer.

Yeah, every time someone tried it, I just gave up on that game and waited on top of them till they bleed out. Funny is, there is almost nothing they can do about it.

and they have an audacity to ask me why I did it in endgame chat.

I normally would just let it go but that day i just wasn't feeling it. Thats the dbd community in general though not everyone of course but this game seems to bring out the toxic in people.

I've caught myself been kind of a jerk as a survivor a few times a was like hold on don't so that that drives me nuts when I play killer.

Again, footsteps are working. Use those. An predicting survivor movement is a bit more risky but more rewarding, and dont need a single sound or visual for that buddy.

Perdition with out any information is just guessing. Survivors were complaining about having to guess against her so behavior just flipped the problem to killer. I see 2 IW at least on average as a killer so people need to stop acting like its some niche perk that only shows up in meme builds or bad survivors when its clearly a meta perk.

Footsteps are still buggy survivor can go behind a wall and you can't hear anything with other killers but I guess thats just sound over all.

The funny thing is when people talk about how strong she still is they forget to mention thats with iri addon. And the cherry Blossom is stupid talk about ez mode.

  • @Trex_Crazy said:

If you're the last survivor who's slugged because the killer wanted the 4k (eh) or because your teammate was next to you (a good reason). And you crawl to the corner of the map where there's a broken hook because someone was sacrificed you can't be upset when the killer doesn't pick you up. Like if I know I know I can't make it to a hook I don't want to give you a free second chance. Is it boring as a survivor? yes. Is it boring as a killer? yes. but its just the way the game mechanics are. same reason you can't be upset at being looped, it's how the game pieces went together.

I had someone go down on the side of the main building in Ormond and they crawled into the wall(just there head) so I couldn't pick them up and they knew they were doing it because I swung at the wall a few times and they started shaking no. I was in a mood so I was like well looks like your bleeding out. I stood on top of them about 20 seconds later they clawed out and tried to crawl away.

I don't know about all that nurse can shut healing down just by the speed she can down. I do agree vommy mommy is super boosted and would put her in high A or low S. She still has weaknesses that can easily been taken advantage of. I am so glad to see her up there though I love playing her.

  • @Jasix said:

Conversely; since flashlights are the only item that survivors bring that require any skill - why do a lot of killers get tilted by them? Blinding the killer can be fun and helpful, but if you read these forums - a lot of killers think they are toxic and should be nerfed/changed. I mean there are "Blind the killer" challenges - I have yet to see a "Down the same survivor immediately off the hook" challenge though.

The thing with that is flashlights are a popular item for bully squads so I think there's left over feeling from that. On top of that the macro serves no really purpose other then to anyone the killer. Imo they are fine in most cases and should be what other item strive to be.

  • @TheBigGopher said:

I know it's a broad generalization but it's something I noticed. More often that not, Jills tend to be really toxic, same with Steves albeit to a lesser extent.

No clue why, I just got off a game with a swf that had two of them as Ghostface on Springwood, despite having every possible advantage only one member of their team didn't feel the need to click at me. Keep in mind they were completely reliant on gen rushing and bodyblocking.

And it's not because they can loop me. Nearly every Leon I've met has been some sort of demi god at looping but they're fine. It's specifically Jills.

Really I find Steve's to be toxic or maybe I'm biased because he looks like a jerk.

You specifically said to focus on my enjoyment.

Those are the two parts of the game I enjoy the most. I'm sure many other people enjoy them too.

When my ability to experience those things is hampered by unfair or unfun mechanics, I am generally in favor of looking into why that is.

I never got why this community is always like don't focus on the 10 bad things go out of your way to find one good. Thats all good in theory but when those 10 bad thing show up in 7/10 matches preventing you from doing the fun thing things need to be acknowledged and looked at.

You can polish a turd to make it shinny but its still a turd.

  • @steamed_hamzzz said:

To the people that refuse to leave the game until they’ve got the killers attention at the exit gates just so you can teabag and click your flashlight. Why?

when there’s literally nothing else to be done, all other survivors are either dead, escaped or at the gates with you fully healed. Why?

when you’ll repeatedly fast vault a window just to try and draw the killer over to the exit gates and annoy them even further. Why?

    seriously what is the point?

Who hurt you? What went wrong in your life where annoying others is your only source of pleasure?

I've noticed this the most when there BnP or when they just w with spine chill and got only objective points. I've stopped feeding end game points and its fun that they have to sit there and noise spam because I took my headphones off and walked away. The average BP gain is like 11k(with the 5k escape)

  • Survivors: doing gens fast is just doing your objective and been efficient.

Also Survivors: killers killing people fast is toxic and shows no skill.

How come its up to the killer to take the path of most resistance? And before someone says you have 3 other survivors you also have 6 other gens. I get that the difference is one is an a player and the other is an in game assets but you picked that when you qd survivor just like the killer picked to be the sole member of there team. To add more ######### its harder to deal with an objective that can think and move compared to one that stays in one spot.

  • @Momentosis said:

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

What are some fun activities killers could do in a match other than the main objective?

Example: Right now survivors have multiple options of fun things to do during a match. They can get in a chase with the killer, do bones, boon bones, do gens, plunder chests etc. Those are all fun.

Killer only has one thing to do and thats find survivors and sacrifice them on hooks.

Killers should also have fun, chill things they can do other than chase survivors during a match if they want to.

Some sort of fun mechanic that sticks with the horror theme and has a small effect on gameplay of the other side to make it more interesting.

Survivors can get in a chase, then make a rescue or get rescued and then do something like break a dull totem or open a chest. Those things spice up the gameplay, effect the outcome of the match a little, and stick with the horror theme to some degree. They also provide brief moments of chill time between main objective (escaping).

Killer should be able to do the same. Chase survivor and get them on hook but then do something fun and chill and different that effects the match outcome marginally if they so desire.

I know people will say "but gen speeds prevent that" or "killers dont need more things to do" and thats not what im talking about.

Example: a survivor can choose to cleanse dull totems. It might effect the outcome of the match or it might not, it depends, bit some survivors enjoy doing it because its a break from just being chased or doing gens.

Survivors can plunder chests and many do it just for fun to see whats inside a chest and to do something other than gens or being chased. Its minor gameplay that has a marginal effect on the outcome of the match.

Idk maybe the killer can have some side objective they can choose to do or nor that has a small effect on the match outcome. I feel like hex: pentimento does that to a small degree but still doesnt feel very chill. Youre still juggling a bunch of other things. The sacrifice in time that it equates to still doesn't feel like chill downtime in between chases.

The purple glyph feels more in line with what im thinking. Like its a side objective to find and its fun and chill without sacrificing too much of the match outcome to pursue.

Its called snuffing boons breaking pallets and walls. But seriously playing huntress going for shots is about the only thing I can think of.

Difference is Ruin comes in at the beginning, NOED comes in at the end.

Ok ill give you that but to be fair is a huge nerf because before you just got noed at end game and you couldn't do anything but leave. Now noed might not even pop or/and it can be removed.

  • So with that logic taking ruin off been a totem wouldn't be that much of a buff.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

Ok, so... firstly pretty much every killer has some form of antiloop.

Stealth is anti loop because they sneak up on you and hit you before you even realize you need to get to one.

Range is anti loop because most of them can hit over pallets and windows.

Mobility is anti loop because you can get all up on a Survivor before they have time to get to an area that's actually useful or hasn't been used yet.

Traps are anti loop because suddenly staying at a now trapped loop is a terrible plan.

Insta Downs is anti loop because you only get 1 shot at looping instead of 2... also the majority of insta downs can also be used to chew up pallets.

Some killers even flat out make certain interactions impossible to do during chase... which is anti loop. That's mostly Doc and Pin Head but they exist and have anti loop.

You can't get away from anti loop. Every killer has it. I think the only 2 who don't really have it are Plague and Legion vs injured Survivors and they're kinda considered bad because they don't have anti loop vs injured Survivors. Plague less so because red puke exists, but still.

Now... now that we've gotten that out of the way... is Artist's anti loop problematic? I would say no. Her anti loop is definitely not anywhere near the best in the game because she has other strengths. Those other strengths are exactly why I like her. I love her detection. I love how she can harass Survivors from across the map. I honestly love that she's the first killer we've gotten in a while who has a power that is good in the 1v4 without just speeding up the 1v1 without requiring copious amounts of setup. I think the only other killer like that is Legion who came out way back in 2018.

That is a very broad definition and there's a reason that not ever killer is considered anti loop. Sure you could say stealth is anti loop but once your in the loop you have no anti loop so that doesn't really work.

Ranged killer are once of the most loop able killers because of there 110 moments and they also slow down slower then a survivor on wind up so there more of an anti animation lock killer.

Sure if you try to run all the way across the map when you know they are mobile. You get 3 seconds just on the cooldown plus whatever it takes for them to get to you to make it to a loop. Most of them have to play the loop(nurse excluded) so you can still loop them.

Yeah I would agree traps are pretty anti loop.

You can still loop them just because you only get one hit doesn't mean you can't loop them so no on isnta down.

I know they are anti loop killers thats why they have anti loop in there kit.

I never said her anti loop specifically was the problem its the power of anti loop in general. You see because there are strong anti loop killers(i mean there anti loop is strong not them) you have to have strong loops that can still somewhat be used but the problem is if you don't have anti loop or crazy mobility then your really weak. What 4v1 does the artist have? She's good 1v1 and good info but doesn't have map wide pressure.

If you don't like to play her you can always play huntress. You don't have to play her if you don't like her. I also don't like to play every killer, i just don't play the killers i don't like.

I most definitely will go back to playing huntress for my ranged killer. The problem is I'm super disappointed behavior keeps releasing basically the same killer with Sligh differences so you end up in the same boring gameplay loop.

Then don’t try and downplay a comment in the middle of the thread without knowing any context of what’s going on. And if you think 1 survivor is as strong as 1 killer then why don’t you play 1v1 as a survivor against a killer and see if you can get 5 gens done and escape...

They have comp where the survivor runs the killer as long as possible. The problem starts when you start adding up the strength of each survivor and all 4 are way stronger then the 1 killer. The strength comings in when its how much time can 1 survivor waste. If all 4 survivors are alive and a killer gets ran for 1 minute thats 3/4 progress on 3 gens.

That explains it perfectly clear. If you still don’t understand try reading the rest of the thread and the comments I replied to

There's 3 pages of posts im not going to sift though them to. This game need to take in the 4v1 aspect when balancing and not the 1v1. That's the problem we have now 1 survivor is roughly equal to the killer instead of the team as a whole been equal or stronger as it should be.

I explained what I meant in the initial comment that you questioned

No you said it shouldn't have a power role it should be balanced. That doesn't explain anything.

  • You said there shouldn't be a power role that means ever player in the match is on the same level.

No it’s an online PvP game, there shouldn’t be a power role. It should be balanced.

Wait so with no power role your say that 1 survivor should be equally as powerful as 1 killer?

It doesn't prove anything other than a highly-skilled individual with the strongest add-ons can beat those survivors he played at that point in time, on that day, on that map, with those actions. I understand where he is coming from, but it doesn't really add anything to thw argument, in my view.

I really don't know whether the game is biased towards one side and I have no major interest as to it neither. But every single trial is unique with so many factors to consider. Certain things can tip the scales, such as SWF comms or a pro-killer, alongside all that rng, but it's not clear-cut. Indeed, the kill rates I saw recently still indicate killers that are lower down in tier-lists like Pig or Cannibal out-perform higher-tiered killers like Spirit or Nurse (who has the worst kill rate). Again, of course this is down to many factors, but the fact is on average that is what the killer results are. According to results, Pig is S-Tier and Myers (who a lot mock for being weak) still has one of the highest kill rates.

So ultimately, the idea of the game being biased towards one side or the other is subjective. According to above, it's slightly killer-sided, unless you're playing Trickster or Nurse when it becomes survivor-sided. And even that assumption is wrong because of so many other factors, but really this is the only solid evidence available to go on.

These mean nothing it says the nurse is the worst killer in game at 42%
