Yea the survivor mentality makes no sense. Playing killer is incredibly more difficult than survivor. Yet killers need to “get gud”, while survivors hold m1 and mindlessly run tiles.
It just bothers me that they act like you could pick old spirit and walk away for you gaming device and come back and you have a 4k. That spirit had to make reads, use her power at the right time ect....
Imo survivor is definitely lest skilled role but not skilless.

I main Nemesis which is probably the easiest/chill killer to play, but I play Nurse when I need to get to Rank 1. Yes, ranks doesn't equal MMR but you need to win a lot of games to get to that rank which means your MMR increases. It took me, and I'm not lying, 30 minutes to be good with her with no addons. Maybe I'm just built different or more likely, she isn't as hard as people make her out to be.
Ok but you can't base your ability as the base. I am the same I played about 3 games of her and I'm pretty good with her I hit blinks consistently but can still be out played. My biggest issue with survivors arguments about a killer been mindless when as a survivor you sit on a gen and hold one button and press another every once and a while that's mindless. Even most killers with a low skill floor takes more skill then survivors objective.

Same, but part of the problem is that it doesn't actually "Count" as a hit, you still have to hit and land the swing - often times the stupid Auto Aim just makes you hit the Generator they were working on and they run off uninjured lol
Yeah I have that happen alot actually auto aim is so bad on console. Larry's is one of the worst with all the random stuff.

This solution can disincentivise hard camping.
If the killer is within 24m of a hooked survivor for more than 10 seconds while not in a chase the hook timer will decrease by 75%. This effect will immediately disappear the moment a chase begins with another survivor.
Hear me out,
Normally the timer for a full hooked state is 120 seconds when a killer is hard camping the timer will keep going normally and normally that doesn't make the game fun for anyone.
My solution is since DBD formula is based on additive if we were to decrease the hooked state timer by 75% after the 10-second mark. Survivors will gain an extra 90 seconds on a hooked state due to the idea of even trying to hard camp. so by formulating this the hooked survivor will gain an extra 80 seconds on the hooked state which allows survivors to pretty much fully punish a killer just because of their hard camp and completely disincentivize the killer to even attempt camping without completely losing everything.
So in conclusion, if killers hard camp the whole game hooked survivor survival for a total of 200 seconds instead of 120 seconds but if played normally the timer will stay 120 seconds
They already tried something like this and the survivors abused it so it got removed. So I'm going to go with no.

I mean, this should really be a thing now that pallets and DH is...
They should do something because I've been denied so many grabs and got nothing for it. They said they made it so if a grab is canceled it would count as a hit and I can't count how many times I've had a grab canceled and got nothing for it.

Majority of the spirit mains as you said, quit because they're shite and can't get easy wins anymore with a killer that literally had no counterplay. Now that they fixed her, these shitters probably moved on to Nurse. Such a shame.
Nurse takes the most skill and time to learn so isn't an mindless easy win killer. So are they skilless baby killers or are they putting in a bunch of work and time and skill to learn nurse?

They all need to be shrunk in size. A former developer said 4 boons can cover almost a whole map on 90% of the maps

@Michi said:
Third seal: every time you hit a surv a a random totem gets cursed with third seal. Basically same mechanics as plaything but with hits + the plaything curse can even occupy a hex totem which means that your ruin Totem could also carry the 3rd seal curse of this one survivor. Additionally if a surv could get rid of their 3rd seal and killer gets a hit again on that surv + there is still a boon/dull/hex Totem out there the effect will be reapplied.
Hex Lullaby : instead of having one totem holding it it ignites a Totem at every hook. Each cleansed lullaby instance removes a token again. Per token an additional skillcheck happens (like with yellow glyph)
Haunted ground: other Totem will not become dull
I stopped using hexes because of boons period. But if that wasn't the fact third seal only seems effective if boon are a thing sooo.... also it would only really be good to match with the new hex.
lullaby I don't even know why it needs stack for a ok effect.
Haunted I don't know why this wasn't how it worked from the start.

i play on console with 100% sensitivity.
I dont struggle at all.
Problem with huntress trickster is only that you cannot aim behind loops as pc can. and fine aim has to be done with moving left and right. survivors that are not brain dead will wiggle left and right so yes, even PC has to predict and zone
If bhvr gives us acceleration and deadzones settings. itll be much easier.
Justifications on why is half of the roster trash - becouse its above your skill level. I do not support this. As I do not support that NOED is OP, where if you enter with 4 hex perks they will be out in few minutes while nobody puts any effort to dull totems
I also slap as console huntress. I used to play at 100% as well but I got some sticks for accuracy and dropped down to 90 and have so much better control. It's not perfect but it helps.
Omg yes please bhvr give us a little more in the controller options so many other games have it there's no reason to at least not have a deadzone slider.

I don't get how the population is so high and yet it takes so long to find a match and the skill level of the survivors seem so different.
You have to remember that is split between like 5 different servers. It's really like 10k per server.

Snowmen in DBD is a big step-up from past events. I think BHVR has now reached a good point at least with this event because dare I say, it doesn't distract too much from the core gameplay whilst also introducing a new fun element to the game. If there was anything more drastic, you risk players either throwing games or becoming way too powerful because of the event. That would get old really quickly.
Thats not how it feels for killers though survivors started using them strategically almost instantly and the only interaction from the killer is something else to hit.

So I love doctor because he’s very fun to play. But the other day this girl said that people only play doctor to prevent them from unlocking cosmetics during the event. Huh? I should note they were pretty salty with another one saying I was bad and the same girl said I was a clown (not the killer😂) who didn’t deserve to win after I 4k them ya know just the usual salty survivor stuff you see from the YouTubers lol but I’m trying to make sense of what she said about playing doctor preventing them from unlocking stuff.
I think it's more survivors are using snowmen as shields and alot of killer are tired of it and are using killers with power that can negate the extra hit. Everyone should be done it took me like a whole 2 hours to get everything.

The mindset between a Killer and a Survivor is so wide. A killer has to take account of everything happening in the game and one mistake = lose so you're in a competitive mindset 100%. Survivor? I'm just casually listening to music and if I make a mistake there's three other people potentially picking up where you left off.
I think that's why I prefer killer over survivor because it had more going on. Survivors need to realize that the killer I'd probably just playing the game and trying to win they are in most cases not going out of their way to make sure you have a bad game and on the other side the one survivor that keeps popping up going for flashlight saves isn't trying to make you mad they probably Just don't want to be on gens anymore and are using the flashlight to have some fun.

The word "sweaty" needs just erasing. Survivors and killers want to do well. Survivors and killers want to play as they like. As with any game, the aim is to do well or complete. If I was playing "Silent Hill 2" and kept my health at max and avoid monsters, that's hardly frickin' "sweaty"! If I'm maxing out all skills in "Fallout: New Vegas", I'm not being "sweaty"!
It's a ridiculous description for any player who just so happens to do better in 1 trial with that one other person. How about, rather than people calling others "tryhards" or "sweaty", those individuals look at their own game and learn to improve.
that's kind of what I'm trying to point out playing killer is sweaty by its nature compared to survivor and alot of the time from the survivor perspective they seem sweaty when they are just playing the game.

but what's wrong with that? If thats what they enjoy isnt it there right to play that way? I like to win but i also like a good match those one sided blow outs arent fun normally. it does feel good to just crush the other side some times but i would rather get a win where i could of lost it as well.

Welcome to Dead by Daylight!
We have survivors running:
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
The only variety that exists is people playing for memes and killers.
Killer HAS to change their perks depending on the Killer due to each having a unique power.
People actually having fun (nobody) bring fun perks.
Then there's the rest of everybody else (the 99%).
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Decisive Strike, Deadhard, Circle of Healing, Shadow Step
Every game is the same thing with the only variety being the color of the map.
This is the hell that MMR condemns this game to, the constant requirement of sweating with meta perks or you get destroyed. There is no occasional easy or hard game. It's just all ######### hard games.
All useless perks need to be brought up to strength with the other perks or the top 5% of perks need to be nerfed down to a reasonable level. Both survivor and killer perks. There is literally no variety in this game and it's draining to play.
survivors actually have a lot of good perks the problem is that the meta perks are so far above ever other perk chose that everything looks bad by comparison. you defiantly don't want to bring perks up to meta status you want to bring meta down to make other perks seem more appealing. killer meta is gen regression because its pretty much a necessity because behavor thinks gens are fine because there is gen regression and defense in perks.

I honestly feel that the word "toxicity" has lost it's meaning completely. Pretty much the only toxic thing is insults/slurs in the after game chat.
Camping/tunnelling/tbagging/flashlight clicking is not toxic...these are things in the game.
And whilst you don't believe people are banned, if you saw how many messages that moderators get, and how many posts we have to delete due to people trying to appeal or complain about their game ban publicly, you wouldn't say that. Hate speech is bannable - they are temporary bans that do not show on their profiles (referring to Steam profiles here), consoles have their own methods for dealing with hate speech, as there's no in-game chat for these platforms. We do allow a certain amount of "smack talk" which is inevitable in only games, things like "gg ez" "baby killer" "noob" "learn to play" as well as swear words are not bannable, these are part of online multiplayer games (and yes people do report these type of comments).
What about Macro on the flashlight it actually serves no purpose but to be annoying to the killer. I also feel like slugging someone and then just leaving them to bleed out its also toxic.

I tend to notice a lot when people are talking about the state of the game or the balance, everyone loves bringing up high mmr or bring high level play (doesn't exist) into said arguments. Slapping on Meta perks or playing against Meta perks doesn't mean your good or bad at the game. I can almost guarantee that nobody knows their mmr on killer or survivor.
your right meta perks don't mean your playing good survivors its how they use meta perks that lets you know. does David deadhard into a wall or out in the open, yes then your probably in lower mmr but if that David deadhards to a pallet or a window extending the chase by half a gen then they're probably pretty good. also there's there skill in looping and game awareness that gives it a way.

I think she's very badly designed as a killer and is currently stomped by high MMR survivors. Her kill rate is abysmal and it's a clear sign that she deserves buffs to even the odds. That's a whopping 42% kill rate? That's horrible since the second to the last has 47%.
#BuffNurse
I love how everyone was on board with the fact that Pinhead's nerf were completely justified by the killer rate of a new killer. Yet a killer that has been in the game for years and has a way below average killer rate there's all of a sudden other facts that go into nurse. How come these facts weren't taken into account for pinhead?

Like I said, from a Killer perspective, I understand the frustration.
However, from a Survivor perspective (and a developer perspective), it adds a lot more fun to the game for 4/5ths of the player base, because it adds more options and more chances for Killer/Survivor interaction in chases. Which is the funniest part of DBD.
As for being balanced, if the Developers were seeing data where Dead Hard was outperforming other exhaustion perks, then it would have been nerfed. In fact, when the Developers fixed hit-validation, that would have been the exact time the Developers would have fixed Dead Hard. The Developers do have that data, as shown by nerfs to other perks that outperform.
Because it didn't take them 4 years to nerf the most busted survivor perk in the game?

I'm definitely not arguing that CoH is busted, but I'm just answering the thread. Whenever a killer does something that I'd find understandable in my gameplay as killer, I'm cool with it. If someone does something I really wouldn't do, and it seems unnecessary for the situation and overly mean-spirited, then I might get pissed over it (though pissed enough to complain in chat, probably not.) I don't think that's a super inconsistent stance to take.
I get tunneling most of the time, but I get irritated when the killer's playbook seems to be to singlemindedly delete the first player they find and ignore every attempt to draw aggro. I get tunneling at 2 gens, I don't buy its necessity at 4 gens even when I recognize its utility.
You can be mad thats your right as long as your not messaging them talking ish it's all good. I get frustrated every once and a while playing survivor so I does happen.
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2699577#Comment_2699577
I understand tunneling when it's done at 1-2 gens left. I'm more talking about 3-4 gens left and a killer that refuses to chase or attack anyone else until the first person they find is dead.
You do realize though that could be 3 minutes into a match with only one chase.
I feel like CoH has alot to do with this lately. I think most killers just figure that there's at least one CoH in the match and if you let that survivor go they will just got heal quickly and remove all that work you did.
-
@Laluzi said:
I get salty about tunneling if it's a case where other survivors are offering the killer free hits and the killer refuses to take them because they're that focused on deleting one player.
Otherwise, it's pretty understandable. Especially when the rescuer disappears into the aether or the unhooked player tries to bodyblock with BT.
Free hits aren't even as close to as valuable as a down especially with CoH. Sometimes a player just as to go. If I'm in one Chase and gens are done I'm tunneling that person out. Having 4 survivors alive at 1 gen is almost impossible to win and its super sweaty and stressful. Survivors complain about tunneling but 3 gens in 2 minutes means the survivors have set the tone of the match and I have to match that if i want to win.

Sometimes I do gens with survivors as pig.
I had a ghost face do this yesterday was pretty fun. I know specific killer can do stuff like I to play huntress and go for crazy shots but besides stuff like that all you can really do is stand the or tag and if I was going to do that I would just camp or play survivor. I just don't get some times when people say just play for fun but on the killer side your very limited to what you can do and there's no interaction or any kind of satisfaction. If you have to find ways to make your own fun (when that's the games only reason for existing) is a problem. If I have to go out of my way to find fun why not go outside and do that for real?
-

People are genuinely not having fun anymore while playing because they only look to win. They will have the most boring, repetitive games if it means an escape/4K. Play for fun. If winning is fun, then let having fun be winning. You don't need to play every game like it's a cash cup, because that only makes it more frustrating when you lose. If you no longer get any enjoyment from playing, stop. It's that simple.
What is there for a killer to do besides play the game as intended?

I agree like something is clearly up when a survivor get hooked and unhooked 14 times in 2 seconds. If enough of these build up with in a certain time you know there cheating.

Yeah, even at intermediate levels, survivors know how to loop and stall pallets out pretty damn well. It's why we have the current arms race with anti-loop and healing.
It's a dumb thing because it leaves the weaker killers so much worse. I'm all for shrinking the maps and wearing some of the loops then bring down all anti loop killers.
