I can't find anything that makes me think she sucks. She is really fun to play and i'm sure you will get better at playing against her after some time.
I've played against her about 5 times and only died once my problem is with her gameplay deign as an anti loop killer that promotes w key. If you just run away from the loop as soon as she starts setting crows you negate her power. If you run a specific set of add on you can deal with w better. The best part about playing with her is going for shots(imo) and if I'm going to do that I'm going to play my girl huntress because she's better at it.

Corrupt Intervention is such an overrated perk. Against good survivors, they just get on the gens that aren't blocked as soon as you start your chase and they get 2+ gens done anyways during the time that Corrupt is active! 3-genning is absolutely useless now because of Circle of Healing. It's in every single game now. You can't win the war of attrition. You commit to the chase and they finish the gen. If you stay on the gens, they just heal in 4 seconds. Balance changes need to be made to rectify these issues in regards to survivor spawns and preventing killer snowball. Every perk now is designed to stop the killer from having any chance of capitalizing on survivor mistakes. When the survivors don't make many mistakes at all, 2 hook games are the norm. No one is going to keep playing killer with that result every game
Add deadlock and it up its effectiveness alot imo

Actually, if you can ensure you interrupt 2 instead of one survivor you can make it 2 instead of 3 though even 3 is not the end of the world. No you don't need deadlock for it, as I don't even have the perk. You can still snowball, yet the hit and run tactic has been severely impacted by Circle of Healing. Once again all situational awareness and decision making on when to commit, switch, tunnel, proxy camp, snuf a totem, etc. I have recently been replacing corrupt intervention with discordance for a more consistent approach; most games the survivors will share a gen and therefore makes it far more efficient to disrupt them than any of the other survivors.
Removing someone as quick as possible is not always an option, if you always are dead set on tunneling then you will lose as some teams will prevent that or get the other 3 out by the time you do. There is most definitely a manner in pressuring enough with 4 gens and 4 survivors, it does require you to not necessarily play nice, know when to slug, when to drop chase to intercept another person trying to get the unhook and all that jazz.
Mindlessly going for a 3 gen at the start with no initial pressure is once again totally mute. However, it is important to identify which gens are lost cases and knowing if you go out of your way to defend those... you pretty much lost. Therefore, which gens do you contest at the start.
The idea that you are expecting to go into a match with one tactic in mind, while to stand a chance you have to adapt on the go to the opportunities at hand. You do not know what hand you are dealt or who you are facing, based on those aspects you need to be able to adapt your plan. Sometimes it can be extremely frustrating and you only are able to pull it back at the end, I had games where the gens flew I was on hook 3 when the last one was powered... yet that made the survivors over confident and altruistic with a 3k as a result, while I didn't even use NOED. Playing killer isn't easy and yes some killers are extremely map dependent and make it even more difficult. It is also one of the reasons I really dislike map offerings, pretty much above anything else that can be brought.
The question here was how to improve, in the end it comes down to; do your best, play smart and stay calm.
I don't understand what you mean you can only chase one survivor at a time which leaves 3 to do gens in the time it takes you to find, chase,down and hook 3 gens can easily pop.
Even if you slug one and one has to come off to pick up thats still 2 people on gens with only 2 gens left how do you apply enough pressure consistently in that situation?
You can easily end up with a 2 gen split on each side of the map after your first chase outside of mobile killers how do you pressure that consistently?
I never said I have a game play and stick to it but you can easily start the game where unless survivors mess up its pretty much over.
You ended up with a 3k because the survivors let it happen not because of skill if they wouldn't of got over confident and feed you kills(which does take skill to capitalize on) the match ends with 1k 3 hook.

I would say Myers so I understood. Its not about strength I just don't like the gameplay she leads to.

I mean, I believe you, but if she sucks, 90% of the cast does too. They don't, a few killers do but the majority are at least average. It's just too easy for piss poor survivors to hold M1 and W which skews absolutely everything.
I think the main issue is just ludicrous levels of incompetence when it comes to map design. They could literally just shrink the biggest ones and a good chunk of the issues would be fixed, especially with hold W. But they won't. Not for a long time. They had a chance last year and they've made some maps WORSE (The Game) and pump out yet another horrid map (Crow map). The Artist doesn't suck, the environment she's in is blatantly neglected.
I mean she suck in gameplay deign. Anti loop killer promotes w keying which is super boring for both sides imo.
the level deign is absolutely a problem its simply to effectively to just run as far as you can after a hit with almost no looping involved. I would like to see tile strength lowered as well to help the m1 killers but the they would have to drastically weaken or rework all the anti loop killers and I don't see that happening.

People coming in say oh I love her and thats it doesn't add to anything. I'm legit glad you like her but without context I don't care.

@Kalinikta said:
First of all realize the game is not over yet. As a killer you can snowball at any moment and pull it back. The first 2 gens are pretty much freebies in exchange for your first hook. Try avoiding the third one, if you get some good pallets at the start, break them and switch.
Second of all, base your choices on the situation at hand. Don't worry about the rules of survivors, if you have to proxy camp, swap targets, slug, tunnel, etc. to apply pressure... just do it.
Third, analyze the gen spread and consider focusing on 3 or 4 of them to tighten the map.
Forth, take a breather and try not getting tilted. The chances of messing up increase when you do.
Finally, yeah some games you will lose and that is ok. Do your best, that is all you can do. Map and spawn RNG can really be against or in favor of you, but you will only get better if you try.
I am by no means perfect, I get the frustration. Yet that is all we can do. Corrupt can help, I like it... yet isn't always the best option. Discordance or lethal are also nice for instance. Build are very dependent on killer and playstyles.
1. Its normal 3 gens not 2 unless your running deadlock. Snowball is made almost impossible with CoH negating any pressure you might get from leaving people injured to defend gens.
2. At 2 gens left you need to remove someone asap or there is no way to split pressure between 4 gens and 4 survivors.
3. Not chase at the beginning and try to hold a 3 gen but again CoH kind of makes that strat way less effective.
4. This is solid advice have no counter points
Some times the "RNG" is bad repeatedly. I started playing oni first 3 matches were ok really like the killer. Then it was hawkings,hawkings,midwich,lerrys so I stopped playing him for about a month. Decided to play him again.... lerrys. After that match I was going to change killers because I was pretty annoyed and was like no ill play him one more time just because I got a bad map once should ruin it
I got F LERRYS.
-
@DeliciousFood said:
Maybe you just suck.
It's way too easy to get good at holding M1 and W. It's way too asinine to compensate for this absurdly low skill floor with 90% of the roster. Not hard, asinine. Artist is included in that 90%
I mean I'm not great but I definitely wouldn't say I suck.I've gotten a decent amount of 3-4k with her mostly with the shotgun addons but outside of that its just w with no counter. Her kit is set for pure anti loop and some info which sucks because she falls into the can't loop just w which isn't fun for both sides imo.
-
@Aurelle said:
I disagree. She's one of the most fun killers to play.
Shes a basic anti loop killer with a pretty ascetic. The problem is if you don't run shotgun addons there's nothing you can do outside of loops so survivors just leave the loop as soon as you charge your power and then its w gaming.
So why do you consider her one of the most fun killers? Serious question btw.

Yeah, the survivors that fight tooth and nail to make sure there's no balancing done to SWF or the survivor side in general, totally don't want easy games where the killer gets 2 hooks and they get to flashlight click and teabag to their heart's content
The real problem with swf is that the devs refuses to take them into account and have repeatedly said they don't what to do any balance around them because not everyone is in a swf but then promote playing with your friends. Behavior wants there cake and eat it to and the community has allowed them to.

Look, I love this game. No matter how much I ######### (including this post) I’m going to keep playing because I genuinely have a good time …
HOWEVER. Survivors. Do you really think endlessly looping makes you a good player? Are you proud with the only skill in your bag of tricks being the ability to find one spot on a map where a killer can’t navigate easily and just loop it into oblivion? I’m the first killer to commend an incredibly talented survivor. When I go up against a survivor that can lead me on a chase that doesn’t involve more than one go around a loop, THAT is impressive. Doing the same thing over and over again? Not impressive. I can’t help but imagine all of these survivors who would be completely S.O.L. if the developers came up with more ways to kill loops. Probably the same ones that would complain (like I am doing now I realize) about how killers are too tough
So, I ask - are you proud?
Looping is literally the only skillful thing on survivor if you can make multiple loops without dropping the pallet is a sign of game knowledge. Being able to chain multiple tiles to gather takes skill. Holding w and dropping a pallet aspa is not skill but a lack of.

SWF doesn't give any advantages, but no one would play in the SWF queue! - survivor mains
Comms give a huge advantage. Information is so important in dbd thats why there are a bunch of perks centered around it. With comms you get kindred,small game,the one that shows you gens and still get 4 perk slots. Not to mention the simple ability to say hey the killers on me and the gen I was on is 80% now you know exactly where the killer is and survivor efficiency goes through the roof.
@Aven_Fallen said:
Killers would like to have the easiest games and still run their strongest stuff. They would just beat up Solos all day.
So, two sides will have long queues - SWFs, because Killers want easy games. And Killers who opted out of SWF-games, because many would do that and most games have at least a 2 man SWF (this is my guess at least).
First of all thats not what killers are asking for fair doesn't mean easy but ever time killers ask for fair gameplay someone always shows up and says you just want easy games when it has been mentioned once so that's your assumption and opinion not fact
Solo isn't as bad as people try to say because when I burn out on killer and am tired of the bs guess what role I play? Did you guess solo survivor? Yup solo survivor is my go to when I'm over the stess and want to chill. I tend to escape more often then not as well. I get the odd games were im tunneled out first or facecamped on my first hook but then I just q 2 minutes later into a new match.

Thats a bad attitude. How can you advocate for one sides fun and not care about the other. I'm a killer main that has alot of problems with the state of killer right now but that doesn't mean I don't want the other side to have fun as well. If you want one side to have a fair time then you also need to take in consideration of the other side other wise your just an elitist (insert role) main.

Maybe if you take damage im not sure I've never been hit on a gen but the first swarm for sure doesn't. I'm assuming its because of hexes because you could repeatedly send crows to a hex and stop a survivor from cleansing it.

Really I didn't know that. I dont pay attention to comp dbd as they have to make up rules and ban a bunch of stuff just to make it somewhat competitive. Like 70% of the player base is pubs so thats effective. I get use out of it almost every match. I also underestimated how much blind effects you. You can't see the hooked/down player, windows,kindred all no good while on the gen.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
Mind breaker sucks TBH. The cooldown for no exhaustion is 5 seconds. That's not nearly enough. That's one window vault or pallet drop. Not worth the perk slot.
Thats 5 seconds in a chase they can't run if they want to get rid of the exhaustion. I've had so many games where fearmonger shut dh and sb the whole game.

I actually love fearmonger. No SB,right off a gen and you are normally able to keep them exhausted the whole chase shutting down exhaustion perks.

Yes, the Epic Store downloads brought new people, that's for sure, but there are other relatively new players still being matched to more experienced ones.
And this is where the matchmaking system fails, anyone who is learning the basic mechanics should be paired with people with a similar knowledge of the game, otherwise many will just stop playing if they are constantly matched to people they can't go against. They should have made some different pool of players to make sure everyone was more or less on the same level, especially if you are trying to make them stay.
I just had a survivor game where 2 of us were p3 i have about 600hr(200 survivor) and the other was pretty decent and I'm sure that the killer was brand new they had no idea what they were doing. He got 1 hook in 5 gens I felt so bad I just stayed and gave him a kill.

Not a very controversial post, but I dislike The Artist for a lot of reasons. Design wise I think she is a very good killer, her appearance is really nice to see and it is certainly creative. But gameplay and balancing wise, I highly dislike playing against her as a survivor. I dislike playing against pretty much every killer that strips away basic fundamentals from the game with ease. Those being Nurse and Artist for the most part now. I find Blight manageable, and I also find new Spirit manageable. I dislike The Artist for the same reasons everyone else does, but I came here to pose the question; are these killers healthy for Dead by Daylight? I am not just talking about the survivor side of the game, I am also posing this question for the killer side. The Artist to me does not take as nearly as much time to master as someone like Nurse or Blight, so it feels almost cheap to rank up with a killer who can take away so much from looping and survivability.
These kinds of killers, in my opinion, are not healthy for either sides of the game. Maybe I just have a nostalgia boner for traditional killers, but ranged killers are always something I find very unhealthy for the game. What do you all think though? There are always ways to adapt to The Artist, yes, that is not what I was stating in this post, I was simply stating that I think she is unhealthy for both sides of the game.
The problem is a combination of loop strength and map size for a traditional m1 killer so if they bring one out it will be super weak so anti loop or mobility is the only way to make them non D tier. You could shrink the maps and rework the loops but then you would have to rework or drastically down grade there powers and they would have to do them at the same time or one side will be completely screwed and we know thats to much work for behavior. The only other thing is to bring all m1 killers to the same power as anti loop which can be dow slowly and over time.

Shrug. That's on you then. Just remember - it's fine to be wrong, but when you stubbornly stick to your guns despite people spelling out in great detail why you are wrong and your only response is 'no u' - then you really are just embarrassing yourself. And this is the case whenever anyone tries to have a discussion with you.
Your constant, ever changing 'x is fine, I play that killer' responses really do not contribute anything to a discussion besides derailing it.
Is that your intention?

Because it's entirely possible to really like something, but also point out it's flaws and give feedback on how to fix them.
Naturally, this is the internet - so any feedback you agree with is amazing and if the devs don't implement it immediately they clearly don't care about their game, and any feedback you disagree with is whining and should probably just get people permabanned.
Don't bother with how much killer this guy claims to play he doesn't have time to play survivor. Everyone of his post are killer is ez I 4k no perk gg get gud posts.

Every game I have played this week has had a hard face camping killer in it. Killers do not care about killing this game by forcing every survivor main to quit because this game has turned into sitting on a hook simulator. I know the killer mains are going to come in here and start saying that survivors do toxic things like teabagging and flashlight clicking but those do not give you and actual advantage like camping does. People will say to just do gens if the killer is camping but unfortunately that still causes every single survivor to de pip even if they escape because the killer refuses to interact with you and you can’t get unhooks.
So your saying that survivors tbaging and clicking just to anyone the killer with no strategic value is not toxic and ok but a killer camping a hook to take advantage of survivor altruism or secure a kill is toxic?

I don't quite get that argument. They do put out paid DLCs, but those DLCs clearly have a lot of work put into them, they're not lazy cash grabs.
Also, their bad decisions are about video game balancing, don't cheapen the very real damage drunk driving does with that comparison.
I'm glad they make nice dlc that cost money when there's bugs and huge gameplay and security issues. Just because they make the bad decisions look nice doesn't change them from been bad.
How does what behavior effect drunk drivers?
I was using a situations of bad decisions making drunk driving is something everyone can understand as bad decision make i didn't have idea of a universally understood bad decisions.
My point stands just because they have good intentions and make it look pretty doesn't change the fact that they repeatedly make bad decisions.
-
I've seen alot of people say BW is fine and I would agree if survivors didn't 99 the exit gates with no risk and completely negate it. I think they should leave it as is and add regression to the gate once its above 70. This would make it a risk to leaving the gates closed but not completely screw you over imo. The regression needs to be fair for both sides though like a survivor shouldn't 99 the exit walk a couple of seconds to see if anyone is coming get back to the exit and it 70 like wise it shouldn't take like 2 minutes to regress. But this is just an option of someone who loves seen them BW plays.
-
@jesterkind said:
I did. Making poor decisions isn't indicative of not caring about their game, and it's still getting plenty of attention and care from the devs, so they're at least legitimate nominees for the award.
Dead By Daylight is a labour of love, and there's a strong argument for that being a contributing factor to its ongoing issues.
They put out paid dlc,cosmetic, and battle passes if anything its a love of money. They need to be held accountable for repeated bed decisions. If a drunk keeps getting in his car to home to his kids does that make it ok for them to make bad decisions even with good intentions?

@gatsby said:
Boons don’t need a massive nerf. They are strong right now, but they need to remain strong to be competitive with the Survivor meta perks.
The main issue I think both sides can agree on is the lack of impact of snuffing totems and the ease of re-lighting totems.
So here’s my proposal: once a boon is snuffed the perk goes on cooldown where it cannot be re-lit. The Devs could play around with the numbers but a 30-45 second cooldown seems reasonable. Not enough to dumpster boons, but enough to have Killers feel that they have more counterplay to them.
What do you guys think Boons need? Reminder that they should always feel like they get enough value to be playable since they’re a core game mechanic now.
You do realize you said boons are fine but they compete with broken perks.

Oh! Well, that's definitely good.
I do feel like a lot of people are assuming that a "counter" must immediately put a hard stop to something, rather than just provide a tool against it, lol.
Sure you can have a soft counter but that doesn't stop it just makes it less effective. Now a killer should have a hard counter to anything the survivors do because its 4v1 so anything the killer does needs to be about 4x as effective then 1 survivor otherwise its a lost time for the killer.

I personally don't think nurse is that hard to play. I played her for like 10 thinking ok im probably not getting any kills this game. I disagree with that, tbh. Scratch Marks have their weird moments, but you can definitely still use them for tracking, and same goes for blood. As long as you are used to it, obviously.
As for BBQ, that was just an example. You could say the same for something like A Nurse's calling, for example, which is also just equip and use. And that is fine, btw. Not everything has to have a requirement or risk.
I would prefer if IW remained unchanged, tbh.
It has a limited range to keep it in check. Losing LoS with IW is huge if there's grass around you can't see blood or if its really dark it is hard to spot. Scratch marks are very unreliable the do weird stuff and you can stop running and you don't make any of them Scratch marks more let you know someone is here they are not good for direction as much. Tinkerer is the close perk to IW in strength and how it works but Tinkerer you can jump on two separate gens and the killer can't defend both. Its also really only as strong as IW if paired with ruin now that I think about it.
-
@GeneralV said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2676279#Comment_2676279
You can still track them through pools of blood and scratch marks, though. And not every perk needs to present a risk. BBQ presents no risk to the killer and is still widely used, even by people that are not desperate for BPs.
And hold on a second, that bug is still in the game? Heck, I remember it from 2019!
There's alot of places that you can't see the blood, scratch marks are extremely inaccurate. I guarantee they take the BP off bbq almost no one would use it. You can counter bbq by been with 40m of the hook,hiding in lockers, or use gens to block it. You also have to hook someone to use out of bbq IW is equip and work with a strong effect.
For the record I don't think its OP but overturned.

It is perfectly possible to track a Survivor with IW. It doesn't give you any otherworldly advantages, even if the killer you're playing against is not a good tracker.

Yes, but IW hasn't received any changes since I left.
Unless you are talking about MMR shenanigans, I know exactly how it is to face this perk.
The problem is it completely removes any sound the survivor makes and that makes it impossible to track when los is lost on some maps. There is no risk to using the perk and all you have to do to activate it is equip it and get hit. There is also a bug that makes them completely silent on the ground

I like general. But they don't play the game anymore. So their takes tend to be on reading patch notes and not actually playing against something now.

Typically I do not hate killers in this game based on what their kit does. But Huntress, I highly dislike playing against Huntress, and playing against her. Granted, by all means, I am not the best Huntress. But there is something about ranged killers I really dislike. Huntress just feels so, brain dead, but skilled at the same time for me. When I am a survivor and I hear that hum, I groan. Wondering if anyone else feels the same as I do about Huntress. There is just something about Huntress and Legion that makes me really annoyed to go up against them. The fun from the match is instantly removed when it is these two killers. Playing as them too.
Huntress isn't even close to brain she's top 3 killers with the highest skill ceiling.

I am usually all in for reversions, but I think IW is fine as it is.
Why do you think IW is fine. Serious question.

Honestly I might would use Stridor on other killers too. I really just hate going against IW that I even equipped Stridor as Ghostface and Bubba before.
You can get more value out of other perks imo. Spirits gameplay revolves around audio and thats why stridor is a big deal for her.
My biggest issue with IW is it has no counterplay and its a equip and go perk with a strong effect. Instant downs only counter it the first time because once off the hook it activates.

Interesting.
I...like Spirit, but never really got into her. I can see the fun of her though (I love the passive phasing).
For me:
- Demo. Fun addons, tons of different playstyles, extremely diverse toolkit and is so rare that very few people seem to understand how he works (I love watching them waste half the games getting rid of portals that I have no use for anymore). Can be annoying on some maps with a lot of strong loops.
- Hag. Endless skillcap, no weak maps, incredibly addictive playstyle once you get a feel for her. She's also tiny and has a small terror radius - I still get at least 1 gen grab per game when I run Monitor. Held back slightly by bleh addons.
- Artist. I don't think she's as strong as people make her out to be, but dammit is she fun. Another 'endless skillcap' killer, versatile and I love her audio design. Can feel a bit clunky due to constant hitches and her UR/Iri addons are amazingly bad.
You try huntress? I love hitting them hatches there's nothing like it in dbd imo. She does have some map weakness but other than that I love her.
