It took them years fo fix Dead Hard, which is only one Perk. And even the current version is not perfect, since it eats the powers of some Killers, which is unintended and being worked on. (The visual feedback is something which will probably not be fixed and it does not really matter IMO, since gameplay-wise it does not change anything)

You can expect that it will take longer or is even impossible to fix the Bugs of one Killer Power.

In general, people should really stop to compare Bug X with Bug Y and how fast the Devs fixed one of them. Some Bugs are harder to fix than others, which is the reason why some get fixed while others take more time. There would be no point in keeping Bugs in the game which can be fixed, just because other Bugs cannot be fixed at this point.

Besides that, for me Nurse is mostly fine. Sometimes, pretty rarely, I have the Bug where I cannot press M1 after a Blink, but this is the only Bug I encounter.

They fixed it for one side know that the audio and visual feed back would be messed up because pallet validation already was that way.

Thats a lame reason it's hard so don't expect it to be fixed. If you can't properly code your game maybe you should be working on it then I mean it's literally what they get paid for.

The fact that the nurse can't Blink or m1 sometimes shouldn't be that impossible to fix. I was comparing nurse Bug to DH Bug because some said that nurse Bug wasn't a problem because she is already strong I was pointing out DH was strong before the validation.

People need to expect more out of the devs for a paid game with paid dlc paid skins and a paid battle pass they make plenty of money to put back into the game like that and if they can't do it then they should find a different job because they are not doing the job they are paid to do.

They will be buffed to have wider range and take longer to snuff

I was thinking the same thing they will make the area 36 meters and take 14 seconds to snuff

With the TR nerf to Pig from way back when and the more recent TR nerf to Deathslinger, the devs have made it clear that they don't think smaller TRs are fair. I completely disagree, but that's the direction they're pushing the game in. You could have had smaller TR killers with M&A so that you can actually sneak up on survivors and they wouldn't have much reaction time, but apparently that's OP and too meta for survivors to handle, in other words just the casual survivors who complain about everything the killer has.

Casual and bad players are what bhvr balance for they have also said that they are really concerned about getting new players into the game so the older player get the shaft. Imo it's a terrible strategy because eventually people stop been new and then they are it the screwed majority plus I don't think that they are bringing in more people then they are losing.

The aim dressing is the most annoying thing in the entire game. Forget about Dead Hard, CoH, Sprint Burst etc., when you miss a hit because the game decided to take control of your swing and miss and the Survivor makes it to another loop, I feel like never playing DbD for the rest of the year

As a console player I second this the auto aim needs to go.

  • Yeah it does. There's 26 killers in the game and I see like 5-7 consistently. I wish there was more variety in this game. I can only play the same killers so many times before I'm bored.

Huntress is cool, it's annoying when you get 5 of them in a row but that never happens

Thats more of a balance problem. When there is only a handful of killers that can consistently do good at mid to higher end games.

  • @Carrow said:

I totally support it. The best times I've had in DBD were the ones when the DC penalty was off. It's just a game, stop trying to pretend we are making far reaching philosophical and moral changes that define our worths and will be remembered for the rest of eternity.

    (Edited for typo)

It's a game that most people paid for and has paid dlc people spent money on and in game and have the right to ask for a better game. What does philosophy or moral changes have to do with anything that was said?

  • I am not arguing that. I'm just saying it's not impossible to play him its just not worth the effort to play him. I'll stick to playing huntress

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Playing Trickster with a controller is as hard as playing Nurse, change my mind

I slap on nurse on ps5 Trickster is way harder. I honestly only played 10 games with her and I was doing extremely well I hit most my blinks. Now I'm not saying I've mastered her not even close but I picked her up quickly.

  • @k0reant3a said:

Hey guys any ideas ye think to make the trickster fun to go against and also making his power good in a match I love him obviously but it can be hard as hell playing him 🥺

    Just play huntress

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

If you're wanting to play Trickster on controller, give up, it's not possible to play Trickster with a controller. Trickster is a really weak Killer, just stick to loops with high walls and you should be invincible for a while

Its not impossible but is definitely more difficulty then it's worth to play him.

Plus I don't think people can really say killers have gotten it easy since all the killers who could compete have gotten nerfed in some way. There are arguments to be made, if only weak ones, for Nurse and Spirit to get nerfed since they've been top 2 forever. But Pinhead nerf, Wraith nerf, Deathslinger nerf? Like... #########? All of these killers are in need of qol changes as well, and they likely won't get them.

But they weren't fun to play against so they need to be nerfed you know fun over fair.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/298000/will-boons-get-another-change

    It's basically guaranteed.

CoH is the prime offender, and needs a targeted nerf. At the very least, it shouldn't stack with other healing. A team-wide self care is already strong.

As for the rest, many people have suggested that snuffing a boon should break that totem. I also like this idea.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2722812#Comment_2722812

    Eh.

He's still playable. He's not Pig or Legion - but he went from 'B' tier to 'C' tier, which is annoying.

The problem is that so much of what made him interesting and viable were his addons. The solving time addons could have done with a small nerf, but his hunt addons were totally fine (and are now Freddy tier) and his iri box absolutely did not need a nerf (it's really, really bad now).

He really needs a bit of help to his base kit. Not being able to break his own chains would be a good start - this adds a layer of really annoying RNG.

Hey calm down low tier killers don't get any compilation for nerfs around here, well if they do it deathslinger types remove quick scoop increases tr and make hom just a tiny bit faster when aiming.

Oh. I was talking about DS before it's most recent nerf. Not old old DS.

Don't know about any of that. (thankfully) 😅

I wasn't here for the days of calamity.

I still hate ds because of the og version. The problem was if you ran ds and Ub that gave you a full 60 of immune. You could do gens unhook people and if the killer downs you again you can't pick them up you'll eat ds and if you leave them down the just get up with ub it was a lose lose for the killer and all 4 survivors can run this combination.

  • @Epitome said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2722817#Comment_2722817

Old DS did buy some gross time in some scenarios but as a Killer it was your choice to eat the stun and chase them again or pressure the others (which was the more sensible option)

I've just never saw the massive hype with DS. It's always just been a "roll the dice" perk to me. Its somewhat likeable but it could be more likeable... starting with it's unnecessary skillcheck.

Also I just avoid strong loopers and take out their weakest links and climb from there. Later, come back to them when they have no help. (Bloodlust will get them eventually) So I don't have much personal experience tunneling through DS after the stun.

Because it activated without you needing to be hooked. First chase you find and chase and down a survivor and you either leave them on the floor untell they get picked up or you eat ds and continue chase because the other 3 still have ds.

The looking up in fatigue has been in the game for years. Nurse is just so complicated that its almost impossible to fix her without completely remaking her. And you say it like she isnt the best character.

DH was the best perk in game and that got fixed there's no reason for them not to fix nurses bug just because she's strong.

Hey guys, I'm a killer main and currently experiencing a pretty sad period as a killer in dbd.

It feels like most (or the loudest) of the survivors I've played against lost touch with reality. They complain about everything and anything in the endgame chat. Even if they bring a Haddonfield offering and 4 brand new parts they still have the audacity to complain (happened yesterday)

I'm looking for some general tips on how to deal with this. Mind you, I'm a pretty sensitive person in general. There are some lovely survivors, especially amongst the very experienced ones, who are always respectful, but many are just... terrible people... shouting out slurs with typos so that the filter doesn't catch it. It makes me incredibly sad that people are like that.

I also have ingame troubles... The occasional Tbagging and clicking is usually not that bad, BUT the flashlight macro clicker makes the game literally unplayable. and it doesn't matter if I'm the killer, or a survivor... it's incredibly annoying. I can't DC, cause I'll get a penatly. So do I just tunnel that person? Or better afk and watch a vid in the background until they escape?

I'm looking for any tricks you are using to deal with this. Thanks

Not to be a jerk but if you have thin skin this is not the game for you. This game had one of the most toxic community's I've seen and everyone's solution is just ignore it it will go away.

  • @Kasamsky said:

I know you're not doing anything against the wave of cheaters so at least remove the DC penalty.

Seriously this is getting out of hand. The amount of cheaters i got in the past days while playing killer is unreal.

Do something.. Anything.. But do something.

They did something they decided to give the game away for free so all the banned hackers can grab a bunch of copies for free.

Plus there's site where you can buy fully loaded accounts for like $3.

Yeah it's definitely sad. The fact that BHVR stepped up immediately to put an end to mods, but has done little in the way of ending cheating is just ridiculous.

Because they were making cosmetic and behavior wasn't making money from that and they can't have that

  • @Sluzzy said:

It is definitely out of control. Even those matches I dodge suspicious private profiles, you still encounter them every other match. Remove the penalty if they can't fix it. They can hold the game hostage forcing the killer to DC.

I'll run PR on killers that I know I have choice on where I down people. Plague and Cannibal work well with it. I also use it on Cenobite, combined with Surge. Ditto Myers, unless I'm doing a mirror build.

On killers like Hag, I prefer Pop or Ruin. I'll also run Plaything+Penti sometimes, but I find that good groups identify this style quickly and just don't cleanse the Plaything totems and instead rely on coms or other cues.

You should try deadlock corrupt,no way out. It works really well for me.

In some ways we already have them. Pyramid Head and Artist can both hit ranged attacks through stuff.

Imagine if they had huntress range but could hit though walls. I'm a killer main and think that would be way op and has to be a 2 hit situation like the artist.

  • @Epitome said:

    Seriously think about it.

The perk was garbage before the nerf (people would just tunnel through it anyway) but now it's even more garbage cause it deactivates if you sneeze.

I'm here for the totem and gen deactivation but healing? Seriously? It should deactivate when you finish healing.

Those opinions aside, they should alter it since it's still trash.

    Make it actually decisive.

    (it's not called Lucky Strike)

Rather than a sad one-shot skill check, it should be switched to Active Ability key/button, and you should be able to decide when to use it. (Still with one use of course) It's meant to discourage tunneling, no? Well, what's more discouraging than walking to a hook laughing to yourself about how easy that tunnel was only to get stabbed before you get your hook?

I play both sides and I've never had a problem with Decisive Strike as a killer.

I think the only people who complained about it were those who actively want to and like to tunnel.

(Which I do on occasion as well, like anyone playing Killer does. But never once have I gotten stabbed and said "I didn't deserve that")

Did you just call the former most powerful perk in game garbage?

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721255#Comment_2721255

Nope. Tinkering isn't satisfying if you can't see/feel large differences from the tinkering. You aren't going to get that feeling if everything you are experimenting with is very meh.

Also... In my tinkering, I've honestly not found that large a gap in killer perks until you start really scraping the bottom of the barrel. So like... Unnerving Presence has nothing on Pop... But Pain Resonance, Jolt, and Eruption all have ways in which they *are* better than Pop.

Also... Buffing everything up to the meta *is* better. What would be more exciting... Pop getting cut to 20 or 15% or Unnerving Presence getting buffed to be situationally better than it? Obviously the second. It gives players more options, more choices, and more variety to face off against.

Nerfing the meta continuously causes a far worse problem. It eventually results in a sucky carosel of swinging nerf bats that just results in everything being boring and uninteresting. That right there is a great way to kill a game.

No game has ever been balanced like that because you just have a bunch of op game braking stuff and that just causes a whole ser of problems. It's actually why the meta is like it is now because they haven't touched the meta perks and tried to make perks meta level(original MoM). Your idea its to make the majority of the perks game breaking and if you don't see that as a problem then I'm done with this conversation.

in the end if u make killers stronger the experience for solos will be more miserable than already is, SWF are in their own level of invincibility, thats pretty much unfixable and is how it is, luckily they are the less by a huge margin, most people just play solo...

Thats on behavior for refusing to do any kind of balance around swf and act like they aren't a thing. That been said you can always bring up the skill floor making it harder to be good but also getting a pay off for been skilled as it is now you can counter skill with simple mechanical on both sides.

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721268#Comment_2721268

Well, I understand that and I totally agree.

But looking at this picture alone, the killer/OP could've stomped on all of them and just cut out the part so that it looks as if he/she was bullied. As far as I'm concerned, this hold no value nor does it provide any evidence that this particular match was victorious for the survivors.

I can't feel sympathy for someone who keeps the most important parts undisclosed and yet states that killers are getting the shaft. Sorry.

If you read the second post that say they are not sure if it was a new killer so he was probably one of the survivors.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Would have no negative effect with camping or tunneling. If your camped or tunneled then the killer isn't switching targets anyway.

It would help killers that actually go for chases and against teams that run the same outfits.

They are talking about when all 4 decides to look the exact same and you end up downing the same survivor twice because they all look the same.

  • @hiken said:

the problem with high mmr, the non variety that hihg mmr gives gets extremely boring... even if we actually beat them most times, i think was 6 out of 7 times (last one managed to get 5 gens but we werent full there was a solo q who was bad AF as most solos and made us lose the game), non variety leads to unfun and unfun leads to playing less and that needs adressing, there is a roster of 23 killers (i think) and if 7 times in a row we get the same killer there is a problem with the game...

Thats what happens when you nerf mid to low tier killers because low skill players have problems with them. If you balance from the bottom up it just makes stuff less viable at top because you still use the same tactics that you would at low level but now they are 10x more effective because they are already effective at low and unskilled levels. I got lost at some point but I think I make my point.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721255#Comment_2721255

    Mm.

The issue is that killers have a few 'necessary' perks (BBQ for BP, gen regression and probably something for endgame) and the rest are either incredibly niche, gimmicky or just bad.

Survivors have something of the opposite problem. About 6 perks that are so overwhelmingly strong that not running them is basically not playing the game right.

    Fingers crossed for the midpatch.

I will agree with you about that but imo just nuking perks and not adding in basekit mechanics would be the wrong way to go. They would need to add a better base regression for killers and a base kindred for survivors(just spit balling ideas). I think perks should act more like addons and augment the game a little instead of completely dictating the game play. I've heard the devs say that with all the perk and powers it would be impossible to balance and I call bs because I also play a moba with over 100 characters and each one has 4 different powers and a passive and about 100 items to balance around and behavior can balance 26 killers and 200 perks that's a joke.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/302280/havent-played-in-awhile-returned-and-might-leave-again

CoH is widely agreed to be a problem right now, and will definitely get a nerf - whether that's in the midpatch or two years from now is anyone's guess though.

For the time being - don't play attrition killers like Wraith unless you specifically build around countering the healing meta.

I haven't used Ruin for ages, and have moved away from hexes that aren't Plaything almost entirely. Pop, PR and even Penti feel a lot more consistent.

That said - if you aren't having fun, give the game a break and come back when you see patchnotes that interest you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721246#Comment_2721246

    Yeah, I feel you.

Yesterday I had a team that continually kept a specific hook on Eyrie sabo'd and decided to stall the game out forever with a well played boon and also abusing a spot in the main building that's super easy to reach and you can't pick up from there. That evening I had a duo that stalled the game out for 10 minutes on...I think it was Temple by both sitting in lockers with flashlights next to each other.

The latter told me to 'get cancer' in the postgame.

    Decided to take a break.

The game is starting to feel like late 2018 again when self care was the second most powerful perk next to OG DS. I left back then because the game was just not fun anymore and I'm getting the same feeling as I did then.

P.S. for anyone around that time I'm not saying it's just as bad but similar feeling in the way it plays out.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    I'm gonna pass on that.

For me personally, a lot of the fun I have is in tinkering with new builds. Make perks worse across the board? Things are just more boring.

Also, generally it is a MUCH better to buff things than nerfing them.

Tinkering with new builds would be even better if perks were closer to each other because messing around round with off meta stuff wouldn't be such a down grade to the meta.

This is completely wrong you don't try to trying everything up to meta because you just end up with a bunch of broken stuff that is now impossible to balance you want to bring the meta down making it more reasonable to run weaker stuff.

  • @Aquitus said:

guess im stuck with exposing perks from now on, assuming i play at all.

I really haven't played over the last 3 weeks ill jump on and play a game or two and be over it already. Alot of the time I'll load up and get to the home screen and just not want to even play.

I think what probably happened was that a low MMR killer had a long queue, a group of high level survivors had a long queue and SBMM pooped the sheets.

Actually it seems like it's if survivors are in extended q times it just throws mmr right out the widow and you just get whatever killer Is available. I only say this because when I get on my killer q is like 8 seconds before I'm in a lobby with 4 people.

It is an inadvertent buff, I know it was implemented because survivors could take the game hostage. It is a buff because it gives a major advantage to killers. I'm happy EGC exists because I have experienced the game taken hostage/dragged out before EGC and the hatch update. But at end game, before EGC all you had to worry about was Blood warden - it was the only significant reason to 99 gates. Especially if survivors weren't on death hook, you could just hide and wait Blood warden out or even juke and regroup, heal etc for 60 seconds anyway.

Now there's a guaranteed EGC timer when a gate is opened and the possibility of Blood warden. You can also be zoned, have less time to heal etc. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying this is why 99ing is a thing in the first place, so it doesn't need a good counter.

Egc doesn't buff the killer it's just a means to make the game end. If anything is a QoL for the killer survivors shouldn't of ever had unlimited time. 99% completely counters BW survivors 99 the gate and BW won't activate and it's like already having the gate open. I have an issue with people acting like broken stuff been patched out or updated to be less broken proves devs are killer sided they nerfed infinites, insta heals and insta BnP they they killer sided. These thing shouldn't of ever been in game to begin with.(not saying your saying it)

The thing is they will just 99 the gates and can body block or just wait tell the other survivor gets there to open and activate egc.

  • @Pepsidot said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2720995#Comment_2720995

Does there need to be a good counter though? 99ing exit gates in itself is already a hinder to survivors. Remember, it is only done to prevent the EGC timer which was an inadvertent buff for killers and to a lesser extent because of blood warden. If you're running for the door at the wrong angle and need to open it yourself, that's a precious few seconds that might get you killed.

Egc was not implemented ad a buff it was implemented because survivors would frequently hold the game hostage. As for the 99 I believe it should regress to around 70% max. The killer should still have a chance at end game to get a kill or to if they play it right especially with how fast end game can happen.

I never got this mind set. I use to be terrible at Huntress then I practiced and I'm alright with her but when ii hit some sick hatch it feels so good because I did that I put the time in and now have the skill to do said thing. Not auto aim hit that for me I'm so good.

Killers that counter to some extent:

    • Cenobite
    • Artist
    • Hag
    • Huntress
    • Billy
    • Bubba
    • Demogorgon
    • Nurse
    • Blight
    • Trickster
    • Slinger
    • Probably at least 1 I'm forgetting.

Honestly, I'm way more scared of someone that knows how to loop or abuse structures than a 'hold W' type.

It's also the ones that can do both that really give me hell.

Huntress, blight, nurse, Billy yeah the rest don't unless your in very specific situations. Using cenobitea chains at a distance it the wrong way to use his power and ends up losing distance. The rest cant do anything if you leave as soon as you hear there tr or lullaby. Holding w most killers can't do anything tell they catch up which can easily take 20 seconds to be in m1 range. Any trap style killer had to have a trap in that exact location they are going to which is unlikely. You can't loop anti loop killers that's the whole point of them having an anti loop power if you stay in a loop and try to loop a anti loop killer your going to go down fast and be super ineffective.

It... Doesn't work vs 95% of the roster? I know because I specifically look for Killers it doesn't work against because I dislike facing that.

That's why I currently main Spirit Legion and a bit of Blight. In a weird sort of way, Trapper counters it too... Can't hold W if your ankle is caught in a bear trap.

I used to also play a lot of hit and run style... But... CoH basically broke that.

You name 3 killers out of 26 that's pretty close to 90%. That only works if they step into a trap and if they are just running away not looping you have to have traps in odd spots that survivors might not even go to. Legion is super countered by w. As soon as you heat that TR just run and he will never catch you in his power. You can run STBL but I've been getting 4-6 stacks and one gen left lately.

Absolutely. I find that stressful and annoying, but not...boring.

When I get tired of it, I generally switch over to Hag, Artist, Cenobite (sorta) or Demogorgon who absolutely rock people who try this.

Weird but it's your opinion. I like variety I can only play a killer so much before I need to play something different. I find the problem is almost all anti loop killers play exactly the same just looks different the game play boils down to the same thing. M1 killers can be looped or w keyed making them feel bad to Play and most mobile killers are such a pain on console. So I end up playing alot of huntress and try hitting some crazy shots.

    Shift W was always meta.

This is a meme spread by survivors who want BHVR to stop making killers with anti-loop.

Shift w hasn't always been meta I started playing mid 2018 and shift w was not a thing. It's became a think became survivors found it super effective against anti loop killer and its also effective against m1 killers. I just find the w meta boring on both sides. I would love to see behavior bring down loop strength while at the exact same time bringing down all anti loop killers also shrinking map size. The problem is they have to make these changes at the same time or one side will end up completely screwed.

Have you ran into the killer meta of camping/tunnelling? Yeah at least as killer you can still play the game

Yeah last about 2 minutes and I'm into a new game. If survivors hold shift w you gave to play out the whole game its not the same plus bt works well against camping(bubba is one killer there's 25 others so don't even)

    as above

When the mechanic is just based on 100% luck of coming across it and probably surviving the match, or by luck for the killer it's in a hard place to spot giving them an easy game you know it's a mechanic that doesn't work

it's 0 fun spending most games just wandering aimlessly around the map looking for the totem (don't get me started on the swapping to other dull totems) surely there is a better way to implement it to make it less based on luck/more interactive?

Who is using ruin when boons are a thing?

    Really?

I haven't used Ruin in months. The reason being - in about 1/3 of games it gets broken at 5 gens and in about another 1/3 people either just power through it or it gets cleansed shortly after.

I find Pain Resonance, Surge or even Plaything+Penti to be a lot more consistent, even if it's max power isn't quite as high.

Thus is why I started using deadlock, corrupt ,and no way out. When I was running ruin so often I would lose it and get no value or I wasn't a mobile killer so ruin didn't really effect the game and it was up all game.

Wow, we have the exact opposite experience.

I find survivor to be very static and repetitive.

Killer...for all the problems and frustrations I have with the role - being bored isn't one of them.

Have you ran into the shift w meta? That's my problem there's no real interaction between killer and survivor the problem is it counters 95% of the roster. Even when I'm playing killers that are loopable it's hold w and then loop and 5 gens are done.
