And I genuinely can't remember any killer that got any meaningful nerfs from PTB to live except for maybe Plague. Yet every time a new PTB for a chapter comes out its always a cryfest about how they don't want the new killer to be nerfed, same goes for perks and in this case its Dead Mans Switch.

You also have killer players crying about Survivor perks that get introduced that even have the slightest potential of being viable. May I remind you of Distortion, Head On, Inner Strength, Lucky Break, Exponential, Power Struggle, Built to Last, Counterforce and so much more that I can't remember them all off the top of my head? Survivor mains cry for nerfs as well don't get me wrong, but it just seems like a lot of people think this is just a one sided thing.

    The Artist.

Not really. The tentacle is pretty easy to hit imo there is some times it's a pain but over all I would say it's worth playing. Zombie are dumb though.

It looks like Self-Care is the perk that needs nerfed since it's the number 1 used perk. It's so OP.

I think your chart right there shows you why a commonly used perk isn't a reason to nerf a perk.

Self care was nerfed it was the second strongest perk in game next to og DS at one point.

As I said they're just rumours I keep seeing. Not mine.

I did watch Otz's games and it's obvious he's playing against a lot of potatoes.

Why? I don't know. Time of day? Full moon? Secret Fog Whisperer match making? Tanking MMR? Wouldn't be the first time popular streamers/youtubers deranked for easier games.

I would say match making I was playing survivor the other day and I have about 700-800 hrs in game and one of my teammates had 10 and the other had 60.

  • It needs to have a cooldown I seen a video where it procd twice which is a little much. I've heard a couple of streams mention that there's a few spots on a few maps where if you go down with the perk it's going to be almost impossible for the killer to hook. I don't think it will be meta but it definitely seems like it could be problematic especially with bully squads.

I wouldnt say pressing W and getting close to someone who is slower than you is a good play

Thats what been in a chase is you know the killer chases the survivors. She has plenty of warning is is 10% faster or.4 mps faster there's plenty of time for you to get to a safe spot. If she's gotten right on top of you either you ignored the warnings or you have been in a chase for a minute and the killer is eventually going to catch you.

It was an issue yea, because the hatchet was already an insta down. Making it just 1 and it still be instadown is an issue, because it only rewards people with no aim.

I can have only one hatchet and get behind a random survivor and get a free down, because I dont really need to aim if they're right in my way. Even pinky finger was more skillful, because you at least had to hit the bottle and m1. Huntress is basically just throwing the bottle, that's it.

I think it would be way more fair, and reward players who are already good, if she could carry the max amount of hatchets, and it would only insta down if it was a hit from 15 meters away. Hell, I'd even make it smaller, like 10 meters or something.

There's a huge lullaby to let you know she's close and she's 110% ms if she's able to get right on top of a survivor for a free hatch they messed up they had plenty of warning she was close or she made a good play and should be rewarded for makeing a good play.

  • As someone who plays solo 99% I've only died to pinhead twice. Here's my big secret I go get the box when chain Hunts about half way full.

  • I know I guess I was hoping to be able to check out the wiggle like comp can oh well I'll check it out when it goes live.

Example: David King is a survivor that is entirely based on harmful British and Mancunian stereotypes such as alcoholism, violent abuse, vulgar language, etc and it the perks also mock certain local phrases and must be renamed if behaviour surely do care about stamping hate out the game.

I find it very hypocritical when we're told that certain hate is more acceptable than other instances of hate.

It comes from a very privileged position to dictate what backgrounds of people have the right to be exposed to the very hate you set a precedent to remove from the game.

The amount of content creators (who you support) who spout "dead hard" in a Mancunian accent when they use the perk is beyond revolting.

I urge all players to refrain from talking for the duration that dead hard is not on cool down.

    Do I make myself clear?

Can you imagine the outrage it would cause if a player did some sort of African accent when they played a character from that part of the world?

Yet it's completely fine to discriminate, stereotype and mock the culture of Manchester (and harmful British stereotypes) and ascribe it to the survivor David King?

Yeah thats more of an Irish stereotype not British.

Actually, yes, I'd like it more if NOED were a Hex that the Killer couldn't see but it was active at the beginning of the trial.

I've only got to cleanse one totem now instead of five.

You do realize that's 4% speed increase with instant downs and Undying?

Pretty bold of you to assume they'll put anything in to buff every killer. The more likely course will be minor, targeted (but unasked for) buffs to niche use cases for SOME powers, often with built-in nerfs to other parts of the killer power (for BALANCE), while survivors get yet more free information/evasion/deception tools with no counter nerfs or built-in requirements.

Killers will never get something like Universal Corrupt Intervention, but survivors MIGHT get universal Kindred (or at the very least, their proposed mini-kindred)

Its happend be for I played back with og DS and the real gen rush meta and it got to the point where killers were leaving and survivors had like 30 minute q and the were forced to make changes.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2732107#Comment_2732107

Exactly, let them make adjustments to survivors. I hope they do close the gap, but I know I'm not gonna play through all that in hopes that killer changes aren't far behind.

I'm in the same place unfortunately

  • @DemonDaddy said:

Until devs announce qol changes for killers this might be the year to just step away. Let those that proclaim the role is overly easy take the reigns and carry the game.

Honestly the thing that worries me is if the do come through with those solo buffs(I'm all for them) it's going to take lime 6 months to start buffing killers.

  • @ad19970 said:

Some changes I get, but I agree, others don't make sense at all. Like the Mikhail's eye nerf. Is it so hard for them to understand that most of Nemesis addons are just bad? And especially after they buffed his red addon that now increases zombie movement speed by 150%, the nerf to Mikhail's eye makes zero sense to me. Unless they want to increase the base movement speed of zombies, which I highly doubt.

My thing with the Nemesis nerf is he gives 3 health states and his power has to build thats so much time trying to get your power to a spot it feels good and now you have more trouble migrating that issue.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2730380#Comment_2730380

It is absolutely true, they just don't want to nerf Survivor stuff.

It's starting to really look that way. Not one of the meta perks has been touched medkit are seen in a ton of my matches yet they are untouched. If you want to use usage numbers foe balance then it needs to go both ways you can't be like well x perk or addon is used to often on this killer but then not touch the stuff been used every match on the other side.

  • @MrCalac123 said:

They look at raw numbers and that's it. It is the absolute laziest way to decide what gets changed, they literally, OBJECTIVELY do NOT play their own game, and yet go forward with these decisions anyway.

I have nothing else to say, I am simply ashamed of them and I loathe how they do not care about their game at all.

Nemesis is a peak example of what I am talking about, they nerfed his best addons because they were overused, but didn't even acknowledged that 99% of his addons are actual asscheeks. The addons were not even broken or anything, but they still got nerfed.

    Pure, 100% undeniable laziness.

This can't be ture other wise DH would have been nerfed already it's usage has to be way over the rest of the perks.

  • @thefallenloser said:

In fear of not being taken seriously, I have to preface this with the fact that yes, I am black. I have been the target of racism in online video games as well. That's all to say that...

Removing Leatherface's customization options does absolutely nothing to solve the issue of the rampant racist targeting of our black DBD community. If anything, this makes it harder for people to know with certainty who is unfairly targeting them now that these racists don't have a means of (stupidly) identifying themselves and what they're aiming to do in the game.

My problem here also isn't that the masks were removed. I don't play Bubba too often, nor do I have the masks in question. My problem here is that this is a hand-wavy solution to a serious issue that the DBD community has and that BHVR has yet to meaningfully address. The blatant targeting of players who belong to a specific group of people. This happened back during Pride month until the homophobes realized that there are too many people with Pride charms on and they're losing their games. Now it's happening again against the black players-- small streamers in particular getting the worst of these attacks. But with removing these cosmetics, all I see is "We hear you!" and "Cosmetics gone, problem gone!" and "No more racism!" Without actually doing anything about it.

And that always seems to be the problem; BHVR is extremely slow to act on anything. We can see it with our rampant and longstanding cheating problem and with these same players even blatantly streaming their cheating, with the same names popping up. Then, when BHVR finally takes action, it's probably (usually) not effective in actually solving these issues.

Bl*ckface is an intentional twisted satire. It's a depiction of a racist stereotype of a black person, meant to depict them as less than. Leatherface is quite literally just wearing someone else's face because he's insane. There is no attempt to stereotype. There is no attempt to see them as lesser-- as he does the same to Claudette's white and Asian peers. We can't attribute these negative meanings to everything in the game just because Racist John decided it'd be funny if something that can be vaguely seen as racist is what he wore when he targeted black players-- otherwise we'll get to people clamoring for the removal of a certain killer that can vaguely represent the imagery of a certain racist cult.

So, BHVR, this is your call to action. Why don't you start cracking down on these racists? Why don't you start monitoring their post-game chat logs? After the many many reports, and many many instances of video evidence, why aren't these people banned? Racists will continue to plague the game long after these masks are removed, and you've just made them a lot harder to identify... unless you get up and actually do something to stop these people.

I feel like it's cool that your taking away a tool that is used for some bs but that doesn't solve the problem that person is still going to harass people and still cause just as much of a problem now they just don't have a cosmetic to do it. The actual problem is still there band-aid fixing everything is not the awnser.

I'm a white male so I don't get the hate like the targets do but I can still see how little effort this is and maybe my opinion doesn't matter because I don't have to deal with it thats just my 2 cents.

I feel like it's their way of trying to get you to use the other add-ons. But what they don't understand is that most of the other add-ons are terrible

They don't realize that people aren't using the other addons because the numbers are low they are not using them because the effects them self suck.

Nemesis iri add on seems like a good buff but realistically how many times is it going to activate? 2-3 times max if gens pop back to back its not like it stack. Plus 50% of the time when it does a zombie will be looking at a tree or rock.

It pulls data from Steam. It's accurate, although of course it only reads data from one platform and it only tracks information that is stored for achievements (which is a lot of information, but it's still not universal and it only begins to track something when an achievement for it is created.)

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link to third party websites, though; I've had posts deleted in the past. Google "dead by daylight stats tracker" if you're curious; there's a few of them around.

I'll definitely have to check it out its an interesting idea

Blessing a hex normally takes 28 seconds (wiki lies)

Thrill has a 50% speed penalty so kt doesn't add time to totems but slows survivors cleansing them down

Which means that blessing a hex with thrill at 5 stacks takes 56 seconds.

So yes thrill extremly discourages blessing hexes

First its 24 seconds and at a 50% increase would make it 36 your thinking of a 100% increase.

It takes 14 seconds to bless a boon that anyone on the team can use to remove pressure that the killer had. It's not like everytime someone wants to heal at a boon it needs to be reblessed that's where the problem is if one person spends 14 seconds blessing a totem the rest of the team can use it by themselves to reverse the pressure as many times as they want untell the killer temporary removes it.

Nothing inaccurate about it, it's literally pulling numbers off the users save data pretty much (not exactly I just explained it in a easy to understand way so you would get it)

Yeah, fair enough. The point remains: it sucks for the game to be optimally played in a certain way, then not have any access to the answer to that playstyle. Or, as community people are so fond of saying: C O U N T E R P L A Y

Killers get nerfed because 'there's no easy counterplay to their powers," but killers sure don't get buffed because they have no counterplay to the default survivor strategies.

My thing is there is this constant oh this killer puts you into a lose/lose situation when it needs to happen sometimes but there's also the fact that any safe loop with a dropped pallet is a lose/lose for the killer but that's ok. Sure the killer can brake the pallet but that just continues the chase and wastes the killers time(lose) or the killer can try and run the loop and probably never catch them and if they do all the gens are done(lose).

Sluzzy's a god Nurse, IIRC. I always see their name on the front page of the DBD stats tracker I use.

I would like to know what stat tracker you are looking at because as far as I know dbd doesn't have a Stat tracker and if it's a 3rd party then it's only those who put there info into it are on it.

It seems non reliable if it's a 3rd party thing.

Hexes were a joke before and they're hilariously nothing in the age of Boons. A better come-back might've been "Eduring/Spirit Fury" for pallets and Bamboozle for windows. The problem with those perks is that they don't actually shut down loops or speed up downs.

And while YOU might not use Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, or Dead Hard, I bet you dollars to donuts that more than half of the other people in your team are using all three of them.

First off I was totally joking about the hex they are a joke and out of the 4 times I've used BF I got 6 uses out of it.

I didn't say DH I definitely use DH I'm not a great looper and it helps me out alot and when I play with someone who doesn't have it I can definitely feel it. I can't really argue with you there I would say I see it 60% on my "teammate"

    I normally run CoH,DH,WGLF,kindred.

Playing a killer with no answer to looping is like playing a survivor with no access to Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike.

That happens every time a Survivor perk gets buffed or a Survivor gets announced at least with one of their perks, if I had a cent every time Killer mains have gone bonkers over useless stuff or buffs to non meta perks I would be made of copper... lets see the list:

    • Lucky Break: When it got buffed people claimed it would be stronger than Iron Will, still not meta altough you may see it from time to time.
    • Any Means Necessary: On release it would break the game, nobody used it, on buff it would break the game, still nobody uses it, most people who do rarely get any value out of it.
    • Breakout: SWFs sabo squads would bully the heck out of Killers, nobody uses and usually backfires, giving the Killer free hits or even free downs.
    • For the People: SWFs would just insta heal any downed teammate making it impossible to hook people, nobody uses it and half the time it backfires.
    • Soulguard: OMG INFINITE UNBREAKEABLE OP, only gets used with Unbreakable and its so niche half the people know you have BT effect from it.
    • Desperate Measures: SWFs would abuse this hard to end the split damage strat, nobody uses it.
    • Build to Last: When it got buffed it was supposed to send the Survivors into a golden age of genrush, math shows it actually makes gens slower, nobody uses it anyway (decent for medkit builds tho).
    • Smash Hit: Claimed to be stronger than Sprint Burst, its actually much worse, probably the worst exhaustion perk tied with Head On, nobody uses it.
    • Boon Exponential: Refer to Soulguard.
    • Overcome: It was supposed to end the era of Dead Hard and start the era of "HOLD W IS OP"... you guess it, nobody uses it (not that bad but holding W is very situational and SB and DH are way more reliable).

I seem to remember the forums been full of artists op please nerf about an hour after the ptb was up.

And there tends to be about 5 survivor buffs to every one Killer buff. When they buff a bunch of survivor perks they got a bunch of number increased the killer perks that got a buff were mostly adding blindness to them and they nerfed spirit and Slinger in the same patch.

At least vommy mommy got some good qol changes,Trapper still has the same problems just one more trap he can carry.

So, to them, they are winning.

Idk it wouldn't do it for me. If I get a 4k on survivors that I was clearly better then it doesn't feel great like sure I won but there was no real challenge or interaction I feel like face camping bubba is the same like sure I won but it wasn't fun.

Like I said in another response, I sympathize with them. I get it. Playing Killer is pretty bad right now.

However, it really doesn't do anyone any favors to find one guy and sit in front of him, smacking them on hook until they die.

Thats why I don't really play killer I'm not go to sit there and stare at one person while all the gens pop because it's boring. Imo instead of playing bubba and face camping and not having fun(I'm sure some find it fun) just stop playing or play survivor. Why q up and play killer if your going to just be bored is what I don't get.

Been able to scout gens is just barley 4v1 and the fact the getting a across map shot is probably lower then a 1% chance is more of a trick or style move. Huntress can potentially hit you all the way across the map does that mean she has amazing 4v1?

I get that making gens take longer is not a good thing because when I play survivor I don't want to stay on gens even longer but they go so fast when you play killer because you can only really pressure one survivor at a time .

He is extremely deadly when you catch someone in a deadzone the biggest problem imo is trying to play some loops and at widows when you need to hit multiple times and been very accurate and with the bs controller sensitivity it makes it super frustrating.

And you can't just be like nurse doesn't need slow down so no one else does because that's som bass akwarks logic

CI - Works well maybe 3/4 of the time. The other quarter, the enemy team basically just hides and waits it out, and all it does is drag the game out. It's a strong perk, for sure.

Deadlock - Works well maybe 1/2 of the time. The other half, either the other team have multiple gens half done, or slam solitary gens out really fast. What happens some of the time is that a gen will get locked at 95%, then they'll get another 2 gens to 65%, then suddenly 3 gens go almost simultaneously and suddenly they are opening the gate.

I'm glad they are working for you though!

    Right now I go between Starstruck+Agitation+PR+Discordance/BBQ, Plaything+Penti+Surge+STBFL, Pop+Ruin+Penti+Devour Hope or PR+Agitation+Surge+Tinkerer/BBQ.

Thats 2 minutes survivors arnt doing gens then that's already a win. I also find that most the time they just get on a gen because it was to long to wait out.

Dl is there to stop multiple gens from popping back to back. Imo it works really well

No way out gives you time after the gens are done to clean up.

Hey if they are working for you then more power to you. All I'm saying is maybe try the build for a couple of matches.

Corrupt, deadlock,no way out, whatever you want(normally BBQ for me)

*Was* it still is. Sure its annoying but making nurse more powerful shouldnt be on the top of the list for changes

Been strong is not an excuse to not fix it.

I'm not a big fan of 'entity blocking' perks. Sometimes it results in a lot of gens popping in very short succession.

I honestly think the two together are overkill - both are 'win more' perks, and you are sort of putting all of your eggs in that basket.

Both of these also require you to jump through some hoops, and together that amounts to quite a lot of wasted time.

If I'm going Pop, I'm probably dedicating the rest of my perks to pressure or info. If I'm going PR, I'll combine it with Surge and Agitation in order to waste less time.

Deadlock corrupt makes sure you don't lose 3 gens in the first chase. Then Deadlock shuts done the most done gen for 30 seconds.

I can only speak for myself, but I find Trickster more fun to play than Huntress, I just like his ranged attack mechanic better than hers. It feels more fluid to use than the hatchet. (I’m not saying Trickster is more effective than Huntress, I have no opinion on that, I’m just saying I like his playstyle better.)

That said I’m a mouse and keyboard killer so no comment on console. 🤷‍♂️

The problem with Trickster is you have to be really accurate and make multiple reads which is really hard to do on a controller constantly. Huntress you need one shot and one read making her much easier to play. If you really want to play Trickster get ready to have a lot of bad matches because of high walls and windows.

And lower your sensitivity to about 50 I found it helps not over correcting
