it's weird that all the CoH complaints just disappeared, all i see is people complaining about boil over now which is quite understandable, so that's why i'm wanting to ask

Do you think the CoH nerf was enough?

I mean, from my point of view, CoH is still a problem, but since I don't own the truth, I'm assuming the nerf was enough as I don't see any more complaints, if most agree that the nerf was enough then I'm in according to the change made.

No everyone is prioritizing the biggest and more likely to get fix sooner because CoH just got "nerfed" so we got about 6 months tell it gets completed destroyed and it's brought to 70%.

I want to say the nerf is 2 seconds on normal heals and like 4-6 on self heals but it still gives the whole team infinite self heals at a good rate.

One of the bugs that remained unfixed from the patch.

Ok wasn't sure haven't really played her much so I'm not sure her bugs. Thanks

  • Has anyone not been able to attack after blinking? I'm not sure if it's a bug but I had a match where I hit the attack butting and she just stood there twice.

  • @Heartbound said:

Nah. There used to be full on infinites, no bloodlust and windows didn't block after 3 uses. You couldn't kick generators and there were way more pallets. On top of that, stealth was still the preferred way of playing. So you'd have first find them and then deal with all of the other stuff.

Oh, and you couldn't hook anyone. Sabo squads made Iron Grasp a meta perk. Once a hook was gone, it was gone. On the other side you used to be able to Mori someone on first down and it was only like 10k points to pip iirc but there were less score events.

So in that sense, the tweaks nowadays are nothing compared to the gifts killers have been given, but I'd argue survivors have gotten the nerf bat the most.

All that was way broken and need to be fixed.

I love how people try to point out the devs fixing clearly broken stuff on the survivor side as dev been killer sided. And acting like we should be grateful the infinites and instant flashlight are gone like thanks for removing broken stuff that was there for years with no counterplay.

"They are just trying to protect there teammates." YEAH OK. This is literally trying to shut out a killer from playing the game when they do this. Body blocking, sabo, and stuff like this is ok BUT not when it's ALL GAME to the point that the killer has no gameplay. That's bullying and abusing game mechanics. Of course this is also usually done by full meta swfs so you can't slug cuz unbreakable and a variety of second chance junk stacked. You manage to hook someone it won't matter as they will all have DS and body block you into BT saves.

Exactly I've had games where I got no hooks because of the sabo bodyblock right away. Plus your taking my bbq stack away and that's what really makes me mad.

Well, pop alone could give 240 secs regress. Probably killers want 2.400, but I think it’s ok now

The problem with pop is alot of times you have to out of your way to get value and/or give a huge head start to a chase. The regression its self isn't bad it's more the time sink to get value before the timer runs out.

Same. I don't like Ruin or any hex totems. They are removing so fast. I loved passive-slowdown meta more.

PR + DMS + Corrupt + Deadlock. And sometimes removing Corrupt for No Way Out. I loved to use this build on my all killers. I can focus on chases more while generators are blocking.

I haven't tried the new DMS yet. I've been finding it hard to play killer even after a break. A lot of survivors w keying way before I get there making it either take like 20 seconds to start a chase at a tile of there choosing or go find someone else. And then baby's I feel bad for stomping.

"Useless" might be an overstatement but it's extremely niche. I never made it work in soloqueue, but in SWF we managed to pull it of multiple times. There was Breakout in play, the Unbreakable Boon, Sabo, toolboxes, ... . It's also just a matter of being able to get the killers attention much better when there's no one actually playing the game and everyone is just in the library.

I would say it can be abused in solo but is absolutely busted in SWF.

  • @Brimp said:

The day they balance maps to not have 80 meters of distance per gen is the day they can look at regression.

I think we have a better chance of looming at regression at this point.

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779711#Comment_2779711

It's far from useless in solo, but you need a map offering for sure, because your teammates won't help bodyblock, sabo, or bring corroborating offerings and perks. If you bring it in solo queue and have no map offerings, it's a joke perk. Really, if you bring Boil Over and don't run into an unhookable spot, it's no better than it used to be - it might occasionally push the killer into a doorway and annoy them, but that's it. It would be more accurate to say that in normal gameplay, it's a worthless perk. But when it's Asylum map offerings and Flip-Flop/Boil Over/Tenacity/Unbreakable... that's not normal gameplay.

That said, when these two things are in play, I've been able to do entire generators by myself because one player was abusing a Boil Over spot.

Thats the thing if you bring it and a map offering your pretty much good. You get to the right spot and you become unhookable no sabo or body block need. You can bring an oak offering and probably still get value off the new stagger plus wiggle buff.

They just need to adjust the hight that's considered great and lower the 25% a bit that 4 seconds off plus the wiggle buff.

  • @Nameless said:

Why is this an argument in the first place...

Boil Over is a terrible perk. It's just a niche perk... Except when you want to use it in a bully squad. So, why not change it so it finally gets to be an actually useful perk without being only useful in bully squads. Not to mention, it promotes garbage gameplay where survivors end up being slugged for several minutes.

    1. It's useless in solo queue
    2. Only really useful for bully squads (I'm pretty sure this isn't the type of gameplay BHVR wants to promote)
    3. It makes for boring gameplay because killers will just slug (which is something survivors have been complaining about for ages now)

I don't see any point in keeping it this way...

How is it useless in solo it takes no team effort to pull off?

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307871/please-don-t-change-boil-over

    Hi Sluzz...oh wait.

    Anyway...no. Just no.

I run Agitation on a lot of killers. You can still completely take the match hostage on at least 3 maps.

Killers shouldn't have to run two mandatory perks to avoid survivors just stalling the game out forever.

Boil Over is the worst sort of perk. It's not strong, but it's annoying to face and can be used to grief. Remove the % lost on drops, rework it into something both useful and healthy for the game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779634#Comment_2779634

Lol. If 3 perks are mandatory to avoid survivors taking the game hostage, that's a sign that something needs fixing.

It actually 2 perks and a offering. That's still really expensive to counter 1 perk plus I've seen alot of oak offerings from survivors lately as well.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779643#Comment_2779643

All of what you're saying revolves back to lower tier killers who are still fun to play and easy to use but any mid to high tier killer has map pressure and anti loop potential to where you have a chance to outplay equal skill opponents, the problem with all that is that BHVR doesn't give you equal skill opponents I still stand by my opinion that they just throw you in there to the fastest available game whether you're a 40 hr killer vs 6000 hr survivors or the other way around, the old matchmaking may not have been the best but it was way more reliable

Out of the top 3 what killers can play around safe loops consistently?

100% agree I've been getting stomped as a killer alot yet I still face really good survivors. Then I'll pull of a 2k against 1 group and then play 3 games against baby survivors with 3 yellow perks. As a killer I think I keep getting thrown in above my weight class and then it finds a match at my mmr and I've lost so many I'm playing babys.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Ruin is actually pretty useless against competent survivors. It is a noob stomper. Nothing more. Not even worth stacking it with other regression. If anything, the true meta is blocking. Survivors are too efficient for regression to have an impact and in scenarios where it did have an impact, you would have destroyed them without it.

In other words, who cares? Let regression perks be weird gimmicks for bad killers.

I agree competent survivors will just work through it. It's good on mobile killer or on small maps when you can apply gen pressure. I run CI,DL, NWO,BBQ at normally. That's the thing is it was limited to 1 they could make it strong because it would be the only one you can bring.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779449#Comment_2779449

But at the end of the day skill plays an important part in that, if the survivors are trash they could all bring the strongest build and still get beaten by a perkless killer who has more skill or game knowledge than they do, when you're on equal playing field I will agree yes survivor perks can seem strong and annoying but they aren't unbeatable and playing mid to high tier killers make a difference in those situations, I've already agreed there are lower tier killers who need looked and adjusted because against the right squad it can feel impossible to win but those are the beginner killers for a reason and they're there as a stepping stone to get into playing harder to master ones, I'm a nurse main so Ive endured the hazing to get to where I am and I was bullied for like 2 months straight before I started to really get used to her power and do good on a consistent basis, I would run her perkless and addon less while learning as well just so I had to rely on skill to get kills and improve my game and once I felt I got the hang of it I started playing with different builds .

Thats the thing though you should be looking at it as if both sides are equal skill or at least similar not if one side is more skilled. The problem is once a survivor has certain understanding of the game and the mechanics there's not much a killer can do that won't waste tons of time. Safe loops have no counter play against a decent survivor you have to brake the pallet giving them time to make it to the next loop or run the loop tell BL3 and you will eventually catch them. Lately when I play killer the w key has been crazy. I'll roll up to a gen there will be scratch marks and I'll see the survivor way off in the distance running to the strongest tile on the map. Now I can chase them but it will take me like 20 seconds to start the chase plus they're running to like shack. I agree that alot of lower tier killers need some buffs not to nurse as you said thet are beginner killers but they should still be good at higher leaves if your good with them not have to super sweat for a 2k maybe.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779279#Comment_2779279

That's simply not true there are more than just nurse and blight that can compete but I will agree there are lower tier killers who deserve more than what they have and what I mean by that is an entire killer power rework like old Freddy had.

As for perks, dead hard and COH really aren't that bad I kill teams with boon totems twice as fast as I do a normal team just from the time wasted to bless and then constant resetting and before someone complains about having to snuff the boons I will point out that people also complain about totems being in plain sight right by the objectives and if you play normally chances are you'll run right in front of it anyway because totems aren't hard to see and you'll eventually run by it without trying to find it.

Both sides have things that make them strong and things that make them weak, I don't care if you're the best survivor in the entire game if you get one or two bad apples on your team it can cost you the game and as a killer survivors who know to separate and rush gens can cost you the game on the right map if you aren't a killer who can physically get there in time to do anything or end chases fast enough, but these are mainly lower tier killer problems and with mid- higher tier killers you can do something about it, is it a stressful juggling game if you're not a high tier killer? Absolutely is but that just means there's less room for error in those situations and at the end of the day nobody is forcing you to play a low tier killer at rank 1 and if you choose to do that then you can't complain about the outcome for using a beginner tier killer in the advanced ranks because no matter what people say BHVR has already came out and said that there are killers made specific for beginners to learn the ropes easier, example noobs complain about wraith because he's a noob solo stomper that's easy to use but at high ranks he gets ######### on by solos and swf who know how to play against him without breaking a sweat.

The only problem I have is yes both sides can bring way strong stuff but the thing I think alot of people don't realize it its 4 strong perks vs 16 strong perks. This wouldn't be a problem if 1 of the killer perks was equal to 4 survivor perks but they aren't some survivor perks even beat killer perks where your now in a 3 perk vs 16 perk situation.

Plz survivor dont cleanse bones they only bless them if they dont bless them they ignore them for gen. Its kinda funny they have the possibility to remove a perk from the match and they still chose to ignore the counter play because in their eyes its boring to play around some perk

Doing bones does so much like Stops a insta down perk, need to heal, need extra points just do bones but survivors refuse to do them but then CoH comes out and now they are all Over them..

    I’m genuinely curious.

The other day I loaded into a lobby where one of the players put in chat that I was toxic for advertising my stream by having TTV in my name. As well as a lot of killers have been face camping and tunneling me for having TTV in my name. I normally keep a positive attitude throughout all of my encounters like this and don’t let it get to me but it made me wonder… is it right for a player to automatically assume a streamer is toxic without going into their stream if they are live? and is it OK for the killer to only tunnel the TTV without motive or seeing if they really are toxic?

The one thing that annoys me is that people automatically assume that I am toxic just for having TTV in my name when they don’t come to check out to see what kind of streamer I am.

anyway I want to know other peoples thoughts on this topic! Thanks!

Actually I tend to do more wild stuff if there's a ttv and they're not been a jerk. I'll go for crazy shots or maybe mess around with them. Try to help give there veiwers a decent show.

But yes, a LOT of people have this bug it would seem.

    OR

    MMR means nothing.

No I know as a killer each survivor thar escape is minus 5 mmr so with 13 4 outs that's minus 260 and and the 3 man out is minus 10 so I lost 270 my bad. The dev explained how it worked awhile back.

Sounds like you're making a big deal out of nothing. The hook spawns before the update could shave off or add a second getting to a hook, the wiggle timer being shaved off 1 second so that people with a disability can play the game sounds fair to me, and 1 second isn't that big of a deal.

We should take one second off of successful hit cooldown I mean it'd just 1 second it's not a big deal

  • @StarLost said:

    At least at night?

Seriously, there must be such a deficit of killers right now that as soon as survivor count reaches a critical mass, it's just...not fun anymore. Games will be ridiculous, unfun and I have to dodge multiple lobbies in a row to avoid crazy 3000 hour SWFs - which only makes the problem worse.

During the day, matches feel mostly even. I'll win some, lose some - but never feel like I have no chance. At night though, I can go from rolling over a team of newbies to sweating for my 2 hooks and getting teabagged all the way to the exit gates by a sweaty SWF with more hours in this game than I spent getting my Masters.

On top of this, everyone and their cat is running frigging Boil Over right now, and even when it's not being used to take the match hostage (which I've seen no less than 5 times in the last few days - as soon as it's RPD, I may as well just DC and save myself the headache of bleeding people out - and I save more time in the bargain) it's just annoying.

Honestly, I think that until the much lauded SBMM changes go live, it's probably going to have to be a hiatus again. Because this game is the opposite of fun right now - and I say that as someone who prefers SBMM to ranks.

I feel this I started playing late the last few nights and it hasn't been fun alot for prove thyself BnP and full meta. There was even a fee games were I got no hooks becausei couldn't get downs fast enough plus teammates body blocking mid chase and even when I finally got a down they were making sure I couldn't get to the hook.

Question why is it toxic to camp at 5 gens but ok to body block and hook sabo when the killer has 0 hooks?

  • @Tubby_Squirrel said:

Another person with glitched MMR that apparently does not go down when you loose?

MMR only has an effect when its extremely high, so yours must have some glitch where it doesn't go down...

It's a real problem in my last 15 games I've had 13 4 man outs 1 3 man and 1 2k yet I'm still facing full meta really good survivors. I've lose 275 mmr yet haven't seen a difference in survivors except for the 2k it was baby's that I had 1k and like 7 hooks at 5 gens and the other survivor killed themselves on hook so I felt bad and let 2 escape.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2778342#Comment_2778342

I mean you can call it just playing the game and ig stop complaining about it but if it's smth people find unfair/unfun & want to see changed ofc they'll talk about it in that way right?

Yes it's absolutely abuse. With certain maps offerings and BO you can make it so the Killer literally can't hook you. Your intentionally abusing a game mechanic to make yourself unhookable and that should never be ok.

  • @CyberDragoon656 said:

Just as the title says this is not a call to say everyone should think like this but rather a little snippet as to why people think this way.

the US vs them mentality is never going away thanks to the devs making a game where it is "all play the same vs all play differently" so unlike if a fighting game tweaked a character or if a team game tweaked something its not everyone gets hit only one side does and the other reaps the benefits no matter what anyone says that's why especially now when people say it's survivor sided it's not "they want a 4k" or some bullshit some people say for the most part it's that the game made it where survivors reap the reward while killers do not.

The thing is both sides are play two different games one side is a pvp(killer) and the other is a PvPvEish) and have completely different objects and need to be balanced in different way. So naturally when one person doesn't play enough of one side it blurs your understanding and it turns into and uneducated argument.

I think one of the biggest problems I'd killer has been getting less and less fun lately and there is a clear lack of killers because q times are always instant and they are talking about buffing solo(I'm all for it) but haven't said anything about killers QoL lately and there needs to be some especially if your buffing solo. All killers got was Ghostface Legion rework soon tm and some buffs to bad add ons in the wrong places people didn't use the other addons because the number where to low it'd because the effects suck.

It can confuse survivors into thinking you're ~20m away when you're <20m away, and deny information if you're looping a jungle gym or something, but generally it's pretty terrible. The max volume lullaby means you're close enough for survivors to be paying attention, if not running away or hiding outright, so Huntress ain't exactly the best user of Undetectable. You could use it to break off from a chase and ambush someone working on a gen nearby if there's a LoS blocker, I guess, but it's a trick that only works once, if that. Once survivors notice you're running it, they'll pay that extra bit of attention and stop assuming that no TR = 20+m away, and that will often happen before you have any ability to use that Undetectable because it happens on reload and lasts so long.

Plague is not a 110 percent killer. She also has 2 fountains base kit. But I definitely don't think she's S tier. I will say if there's any killer that might be S tier that isn't currently considered S tier and that's Oni. And for that it comes down to, just how long can a competitive group of survivors keep an equally skilled Oni from getting any blood at all. From what I've seen in the most recent tourney, not long at all. 1 misplaced tile or even just 1 tile that's not close enough to another and the player takes a hit. An oni in their power is the most powerful killer in the game, I'd say stronger than Nurse easily.

Idk about Oni been s I would definitely agree A if the survivors play really safe you take forever to get going. Plus some maps completely nuke his power. Once you get your DD he is maybe the scariest thing in game.

On the plague she is so much better since her buff but her hits are still inconsistent and smart survivors can control her power and Plat safe. I would definitely say A or top B

    Love vommy mommy btw

  • I love how some people think that if you buff 4 people with a blanket buff its not going to effect the other side. They are trying to bring solo closer to swf so there not 2 different survivor groups to balance around. If you give 4 survivors a fifth perk how can you justify giving 4 free perks to one side and saying the other will be fine. One side is losing any strategy they have(hit&run, camping,) if you keep taking from one side and giving to the other your going to statt losing players.

Your job isn't to take up 100% of the killer's time. It's to escape. I know the community may not like what I'm about to say but here's the truth of the matter: If you want to win and/or want your performance credited to you, you have to play and think about the game as a 1v1. If you don't care about winning or MMR, then the end result doesn't matter anyway.

Why would I think of a 4v1 as a 1v1. Someone has to take up the killers time or they have to be afk.

I don't think it was this person's goal when they went in. What I understand is that, yes, the goal was to escape when the match started, the killer found them and chased them.

This player was skillful enough to run the killer for 3 gens and got hooked and camped for the remaining 2.

    That's the point they're making.

Actually I got unhooked and ran him for another gen and 1/2ish. But I left my cloak of invisibility in the lobby so it was my bad.

Of course looping is a skill. If it wasn't something that took skill, all chases would last about the same time regardless of who the killer was and what their skill level was. Clearly this isn't the case.

I'm a good example imo I'm ok at looping and I can sometimes pull off stuff like that but I'm not consistent. A skilled looper can consistently pull off great loops imo. And then there's Meg who pre drops every pallet no matter where the killer is.

  • I loop him on one loop for 3 gens I would say that takes skill. I'm not great at survivor so I take pride in pulling that off.

Your objective is to escape, not run the killer for 5 gens. You made the choice not to focus on your individual objective and as a result, you did not complete your objective. So it's good that you had fun, but you simply had fun throwing your objective lol.

Let's see it was a doctor and me and another player was found first. He chased me for 3 gens finally downed me camped me I got save(go team) then he proceeded to chase me for about 1 1/2 hooks and I died because he camped me. When was I supposed to do gens? Getting camped and tunneled isn't my problem it's that I lost because I didn't escape even though I took up 100% of the killers time .

Riiiight much like how almost any survivor "nerf" can be consider an actual nerf while most killers are screwed now.

I know right they are doing it so wrong. Look I'm all for buffing solo I love the icons idea base MODIFIED BT might be ok if done right but you have to also give the killers something to compensate for the overall buff at the same time. But what are they doing nerfing weak killers that are doing really well with a hand full of top mmr players with very specific addon.

  • @CyberDragoon656 said:

If they do make bt base kit with no compensation for killers then this game might as well admit it's biased towards one side.

I think we'll see the modified basekit bt and then will get x basekit killer buff coming soon and then a yr get 2% base gen regression on kick

Exactly. Speaking of nerfs I think pig's nerf timer is ringing.

Right can't be having something out side of normal game play happen to offend.

Nerf noed this, nerf noed that, how bout we get an actual balance team and not the budget one BHVR has.

Why nerf noed when we can just nerf all the killer addons and make random killer nerfs with no compensation.

I think that was just BS excuse to let them get away with another Twins nerf

I thinks it's this they did it based on stats 200% and knee that wasn't going to work as a reason so gave this reason which totally contradicts how they Said they balance many times before.

    Both reasons are bs imo

All that would do is create 2 different modes with queue time issues.

I think q times in ranked would be ridiculous and everyone would just play casual.

  • @liquidlight said:

They just need two types of modes: Casual, where there are no ranks at all, and Ranked, where there are ranks. That would solve a lot of issues, I think.

But really, I don't think they're that concerned with the top players. The point is to bring in new people and get them playing long enough to buy some things. As long as they can satisfy the fresh blood and keep them playing for a while, or get them hooked since the game can be addicting, then that's what matters. If they have things that will scare away new players then they lose money. Money is the end game for the creators. Not our feelings.

Edit: For the record, I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing. Anyone who has created something would want to make money from it. That's sort of the point in the majority of cases.

They said in the q&a today the reason for nerfs to weak killers like the twins addons was because at high level they are doing to good.

The problem is if one side has a low number with they way mmr works you end up with new player getting stomp by experienced player so less people play that side and more and more newer players end up play more and experienced players and you get a cycle.

  • Devs said boons are fine and not op and have no plans on making changes to any boons any time soon. But they are still gathering data

I say just turn it into a whole different kind of addon and give Myers buffs across the board.

If the way you play around it is to immediately hop onto his shoulder in a 3v1, it's not healthy.

The problem with that imo is you have to do it at the same time you can't take the addon away then wait 1+ years to buff him and I'm pretty sure he's not anywhere close to the next ones getting messed with that should be GF and Legion. When was the last killer rework?

    Yes.

And I and a lot of other people seem to agree that TP is part of that list that BHVR simply missed and ought to correct.

The problem is the abruptness and speed of it-- you don't know they have TP until you've been booted back to the main menu. When you pay for a teammate's mistake, you go on the ground and onto a hook-- you could potentially die on your first hook, but at least have a chance to play the rest of the match out.

TP bypasses all of that. One left click and the entire game gets forcefully skipped for you. No downs, no hooks, no saves, no chase, no match. Usually because some peanut on your team stared at a gen and fed Myers 'till he 99'd his tier 3. It's one of the few things introduced in the Halloween update that wasn't severely overhauled from its incredibly silly release version.

I don't know what seems to exempt it from the list I just gave.

I've seen a few people say add a hook requirement which I think would be ok if they bring down the amount to get to t3 and maybe mess with the ms.

If I had to guess I would say it's because it only catches one survivor by surprise and then can be countered pretty well just a guess though.
