Are you pulling the survivors out of the traps? As it's not just them going into the trap and you can't melee them when they're trapped either.

No I was hitting then ill have to grab them. Thank you

I know but it's only 25% so that means she would still have at least 10 seconds to wiggle off.

That is weird. It's always worked for me before maybe you had a bug.

I was playing Trickster on Dead Dawg Saloon and I found myself in a situation that somehow I had never experienced before in that map (probably because I don't play Trickster and Huntress that frequently, but still, I've played them a lot until I got them to Prestige III)... or at least I don't remember experiencing it.

There is a small house right beside the shack with stairs that lead to a small balcony with a god-window. With 115% killers, a survivor running from you there will get caught eventually. But after a few tries I felt there wasn't anything I could do as Trickster, and I think Huntress would have a similar issue.

An injured survivor was running the building, counter-clockwise, and always going up the stairs and reaching the window. I tried to hit her with some knives at corners, but could barely get chances to do so. As I turned a corner to get her in line of sight, she would already be turning the other and even hitting a single knife was hard and required a very precise timing. I tried to mindgame her by faking to go up the stairs and just walking around it... she was patient, didn't fall for it and didn't drop. Then she waited up there. I tried to hit her with knives, got one or two, but then she crouched in a position I just couldn't hit her and could end up wasting all my knives trying to get her trough the balcony's bars. If I tried to just chase her until M1 range... well, the only possibility would be with bloodlust, but until then it would take a long time and all gens would be done.

So I tried going around the other side to mindgame her. Either way she had enough time to reach the stairs before I could get close.

And even if I somehow managed to get closer at some point, she had the shack window as well, and she would reach it with a fast vault by running counterclockwise. It seemed like an infinite. I just left her and went for someone else.

A skilled Huntress could maybe manage to get a hatchet hit at some opportunity, but the time in line of sight was so short I think it would be hard. Trickster, however, doesn't have even that. Is there a way of countering this that I didn't see?

Huntress can play it because she only needs one hatchet. I'm pretty sure I know what balcony your talking about if the make the vault they can go to shack(window was on that side) or keep looping back to the vault.

I don't think so. I specifically remember carrying someone to the hook for at least 5-6 seconds, someone sabo'd the hook i was going to, i drop her, bleed her out for like a minute and a half and eventually they both run off cause they know I'll bleed her if i really wanted to then i pick her back up and wiggles out 5 seconds later.

They get a fat chunk of wiggle if you drop them.

This is for developers. I have low mmr. Why, when I play as a killer, do they give me swf, with a high mmr? Why do I get a high mmr killer when playing as a survivor? What is interesting about a game that cannot be won? Fix it.

I feel the same I've been getting stomped lately and then get a match of baby's and I've been feeling bad and letting 2-4 go alot then back to the greats survivors.

My survivors matches seems a little closer for me but my teammates are almost always in over there heads.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2794249#Comment_2794249

Yep. Funnily enough when they introduced Dead Hard they also lengthened the time someone can stay on hook for 120 seconds up from 90. But yes, assuming you complete a chase in 60 seconds, that's 180/400 seconds done on the gens. If the other survivors decide to let him hit stage 2, that's 360/400 seconds. That's not a lot of time left for the killer to pressure.

Exactly and there's times where the first survivor has a really good tile to run if you give up that chase your really letting that survivor go do a gen while you try and find a survivor to pressure and hope at that point you find a potato.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2794106#Comment_2794106

You still control how hard you want to pressure, how much you want to proxy camp hooks, how much you slug, etc.

Not really in the beginning the killer has 0 momentum or pressure and you really need to have a good first chase to start building pressure. You have to do this with all the survivor resources available. A killer can only pressure 1 survivor in chase at a time that leaves 3 to do gen and it only takes 80. It's not crazy for it to take more then 80 seconds to find chase and hook a survivor.

The thing is a the start of a match a timer starts for the killer and the killer has to apply pressure to extend that timer. Survivors hole the pressure in the beginning the killer has take the pressure from them.

  • @Reshy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2794106#Comment_2794106

I mean let's be fair here, generator times haven't been touched since 2017; before Dead Hard was released.

What's that have to do with how fast the survivors did the gens? It only takes 80 seconds to do a gen normally. Your first chase you can easily have 3 survivors on 3 separate gens. It's not a stretch to say with in the first chase survivors or when your looking for your second have already done 3 gens. Unless you have a handful of killers or the survivor messes up they can easily make a chase 60 second because they have all there resources.

Plus killers have had a problem with gen speeds for the longest time. Correct me if I'm wrong but when they touched gen speeds didn't they lower them?

  • @WesCravenFan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2793037#Comment_2793037

That is the opposite of what I am saying. If the game ended VERY quickly and you won, it means you chose to end it as fast as possible.

I'm pretty sure they didn't chose to make gens go that fast I'm pretty sure the survivors did that.

  • @Malkhrim said:

After I got my first down in a match, right beside the shack, I tried to take Mikaela to the basement. Boil Over made me waste a little more than I should while going to the door, but then I started going down the stairs, directly from the top to avoid falling from a height. But then...

I "jumped". While she wiggled and I tried to walk straight, I was suddenly propelled forward, into the air, and then fell a short distance down the stairs. This apparently gave her the 25% bonus wiggle, because she escaped about 2 seconds later, much sooner than she should.

Beside the Boil Over nerf, this bug has to be prevented too. Even with the nerf, this bug has the potential to screw killers many times. And I'm not going to lie: After that happened I just disconected. I simply refused to keep playing a match after losing so much pressure at the early game due to a bug. It angried me that much.

By the way, I already reported the bug, but I really needed to vent this and I believe the subject is in other players' interests.

I had this happen to me coming down the stairs inside the Thomson house. I was shoved forward down about 3 stairs and it activated the 25%. I didn't fall off the stairs I moved forward without falling snd then fell about 3 stairs .

  • See that's the thing toxicity is really objective. As a killer main I don't find anything the killer can do toxic really but slugging a whole team to make them bleed out is trying to make the game as bad as possible.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2793540#Comment_2793540

And I get that... but a lot of other Killers don't so...

It's all a matter of how players get the Objective done

That where the cycle starts you know I get stomped my bodyblocking survivors ect. Then I slap on a super sweaty build and start camping and tunneling at 5 gens so they go and be a jerk to the next killer and the cycle continues.

  • @Pulsar said:

  • @RaSavage42 said:

Well if the Survivors want to save their teammates early so be it

Killers can and do Camp and Tunnel... so why not

I don't like camping in any game I find it boring. There is even a 50/50 chance of me not camping at end game just because I find it boring and would rather try and get into 1-2 more chases. I tunnel normally at 2 or less gens when a survivor has to be removed. It's my preferred playstyle.

  • @Marigoria said:

If you arent even getting 1 single hook in 70% of your games your MMR will get lower and you will go against potatoes who go down in 2 seconds.

It's more 70% have survivors attempting to prevent hooks its not always successful. Out of my last 20 matches I've had 1 4k, a few 3k,2 2k, and the rest 3-4 man outs yet I'm not playing less skilled opponents.

  • @CrashMADDS13 said:

As a killer, I love it. It rewards hooking and synergizes well with PR. As a survivor, it's agonizing at first but once you know it's in play you can avoid it altogether.

With the devs announcing changes to boil over that was buffed at the same time as DMS, but not saying anything about DMS, does that mean they're happy with the changes?

    What do you guys think

I think to will be nerfed in the next patch. They will either say something like a week before the ptb or we will just find out the day of.

  • @Laluzi said:

Except I do consider that as being nasty, the same as I do a killer that camps/tunnels at 5 gens.

I mean, I don't hate it when a team tries to save the first guy I catch, that's fair play, but I'll be peeved if I get my first down at 2/3 gens left and the whole team comes running over to stop me, or if they insist on trying to block every damn down I get. Then I take the nice guy gloves off and the situation generally resolves itself (or it doesn't and I suffer screaming for the next 15 minutes.)

I had a twins match where I was playing nice not slugging as the twins and they were bodyblocking right off the bat and was clicking ever time they kicked Victor and I to of the gloves and 4 man slugged and got a 4k.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2793445#Comment_2793445

Just like hardcore tunneling 1 survivor ASAP makes complete logical sense for a killer intending to win.

Omg bestie it's almost like I said that!

The double standard really bothers me in this game.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

The killer's first hook is where they begin to create momentum, with the game suddenly going from 3 survivors on objectives to 1 (1 hooked, 1 chased, 1 saving). In the early game, the primary goal of the survivors is to prevent this momentum from beginning to gather for as long as possible, while still leaving some resources for the team later so the momentum swing is less severe.

Preventing that first hook for as long as possible makes complete logical sense for a team intending to win. Just like hardcore tunneling 1 survivor ASAP makes complete logical sense for a killer intending to win.

Tragically the other side suffers, but that's just how the game is- whoever wants to win more and is willing to sacrifice the other side more is more likely to be the one to have fun + succeed.

The same could be said about a killer camping and tunneling right away. It's important for the killer to remove a survivor asap.

My sister is the nicest killer in the world. She only kills for challenges and even then, she asks me to play on her account to do it. She just likes chilling with the survivors. Anyways, long story short. She finally bled out her first survivor thanks to Boil Over. I was so proud of her.

I would say she's to nice to be a killer be we all know who the really bull's are.

It's one of those things that ruins the game because it becomes pretty pointless to chase that survivor because they just run to that same spot but then your letting them do whatever they want and if you bleed them out your not playing the rest of the game.

  • @fulltonon said:

You can't be toxic as a killer.

It is not okay and I will do everything against their precious rule book the second they indicate it is going to be one of "those" games.

I think they are into it though. Getting tunneled out of the game in like a minute and a half is a kink of theirs or something.

I normally do as well but the amount of it lately is just making it unfun.

I'm having OG DS flashback levels of frustration lately.

  • @Tsulan said:

Had a SWF that used RPD offering + 2 hook offerings, 2 toolboxes and 2 Flashlights. (Before the library patch)

I'm not going to lie it feels like I've seen an increase in jerks lately. I'll get them every other match or ever 3. I use to get maybe 1/10. I mean like actually just trying to make the killer mad click click for no reason and constantly tbagging you know going out of there way type of stuff.

  • @GuyFawx said:

This is where you need to shut off the nice guy brain and make every team afterwards pay. I know it sounds petty and it is but you sometimes need to play like that to secure your marks. It often helps to listen for other players so you know if you need to slug or not. Bring Franklin’s and start m1 fools if you see toolboxes cause saboteur has a cd at least. These type of games tho are good to have as they prepare you for high ranks where it happens way more. Also remember too the basement is always a safe zone for the killer

I don't care about been bodyblocked or sabo and that stuff later in the game because your messing with my BBQ stacks. And playing with my BP is like playing with my emotions.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2791977#Comment_2791977

And even then, if ruin is dead only option remaining is tunneling.

I don't really ever run ruin because I tend to lose it before I get value.

A mix of Gen speeds and map size has turned the current meta into blocking gens instead of regression. If you have a bad start and 3 gens pop in your first chase your now in a spot where there is one survivor for every Gen left and one hook. Tunneling is kind of mandatory at this point.

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

Wouldn’t you get bored of chasing the same survivor and hardly interacting with the other players and/or defending your gens?

    https://youtu.be/Qg1GauEDl1Y

Honestly chasing survivors is pretty much all the same no matter what character they are. If I'm chasing a Meg and she's looping drops a pallet i break chase,loop,pallet,break,chase,.....

Really the only difference is skill and when everyone is pretty close they are still the same loop.

Unless your a mobile killer with ruin defending gens is kind of pointless gens go so fast. Non mobile killers survivors will just work through ruin because most the time you can't get around the map fast enough.

Truth, as a survivor you have a chance to at least escape yourself up until the last second. As a Killer there is a definite point of no return where you know you're screwed.

Exactly there is some points where the survivors are kind of screwed but then there's hatch. The killer doesn't really have anything like hatch maybe noed been the closest but it's also a perk.

  • @lonesomekill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/308763/losing-as-killers-sucks

Depends on what you consider a win. I only play killer, to me if i have fun its a win, if its a cool group its a win , 1 kill its a win, i dont get hacked or bullied, win. You dont need 4 kills to win. It all depends on what you have fun playing as.

So your standard for a win is if something bad doesn't happen? Behavior has pushed your standards low.

  • @SudoK7 said:

I don't know if it's just me but when i lose as killer it is just so demoralizing. Whenever i lose as survivor even if I get tunneled I don't really get bothered by it I just move on to the next game. It's the main reason why Spend more time playing survivor over killer.

I think it's because once you reach that point where you know it's over you still have to play the rest of the game out knowing you can't win unless the survivors mess up real bad. So as you play out the last of the game you cant help but let it bother you. Plus survivors love to wait tell the last seconds of EGC.

As a survivor you get tunneled or camped and the game is over right there you can even ######### on hook. Then you move on.

  • @GoshJosh said:

One missed dull totem is all it takes. One dull totem that can stand for well over two minutes if it can't be found, or is near a hooked survivor end game. So I wouldn't exactly call it a nerf, though it can prevent the perk from activating at all. That's usually not what happens for several reasons.

Thats ok though because if it's OK to bad hex spawns where survivors cleanse it in the first 20 seconds it's OK to have great hex spawns where the killer gets max value. Its the whole risk reward it can never activate but on the other end it has to be equally as valuable. Pretty much if the value of it can be nothing it has to have the chance to be extremely valuable. If it could be no value but at best OK the risk isn't worth the possible reward.

They should have never reworked Freddy, but gave him just some QoL changes instead. The Original Freddy was so much more fun.

But that 7 second wait to do anything was a killer. But he was interesting compared to current Freddy

  • @Tsulan said:

Bubba was released during a time when no one wanted to play killer due to WGLF. Which gave a 200% bloodpoint bonus. So everyone tried to play survivor and farm their teammates. He was kinda rushed out, since most of his addons were identical to Billys.

I heard they got the Freddy license like right after they got bubba's and they put more into freddy(weakest killer to ever be made) and bubba became a Billy variant.

^^ this. It's still a very very very good perk, just not straight broken.

This said, in the end game it can still be a free escape with no counter for the killer. I still think it's fine as it is

My problem with it been a free escape at end game is it punishes a killer for tunneling when the only real option is to tunnel. It also punishes killers that play "fair" because they didn't tunnel.

Otherwise the perk is fine imo

  • If they killswitch anything it will be the map offerings like they dud with boons when they were unsnuffable you could still get it randomly but couldn't use the offerings.

  • I can confirm that interrupting a survivor blessing a totem doesn't count towards the achievement. I pulled a Mikaela off a totem she was blessing and I'm still at 1 of 10.

Ah... Well if blessing doesn't count, then they should definitely update that. This achievement was already a pain to get before, unless you threw the game and kept AFKing next to hex totems.

I'm not sure but they are different mechanics and you have the bless x amount of hexes.

I don't play Doctor so I can't confirm, but I was told once before that his shock attacks don't count toward the achievement and that they actually have to be hit off or grabbed off the totems. Or is that wrong?

It says interrupt a survivor "cleansing" a totem. So doc should work. The problem is I don't think blessing counts.

  • @Akumakaji said:

Just a quick note: the art of the achievement is very misleading, you don't have to pull them off the totems with a Redeemer shot, you just have to disrupt them, be it a hit with M1, a Nemesis tentacle or power or a Doctors shock.
