Literally everyone who plays in the hours that I typically play are really bad. Sometimes with the odd decent person. Never an outright super good killer and/or survivor.
I normally get decent killers at that hour and then the random baby or way better then me. Survivors though are sweaty and an increase in the amount of swf.

I really only play this game around 11-1 AM EST and I swear the game quality is so poor. If I play killer, I can smash each game without any addon and meme perks because the survivors all, generally, suck (, outside of Friday nights).
The same goes for killers at this hour, but at least the survivors off-set the bad killer (and make the game fun).
Anyone else notice this? What are good times to have good games?
I play on west coast and it's the same for me. It seems alot of sweaty 3-4 man play at night.

This might be something that the devs need to look at for all killers who need to point-blank the survivors with their powers. Hillbilly, Oni, Demogorgon, Twins. The fact that survivors can just hug an obstacle and not get hit by your attack unless you keep playing ring around the rosey with them, it's just ridiculous.
They actually do it alot or use to look at tapper and pre windstorm wraith. Addons should Improve or change the gameplay up not be required.
Apparently the rings girl is the same way.

answer: survivor's fun. survivor's fun is more prioritize over killer fun. Twins was not fun for survivor. often characters not removed from games, instead you can nerf the character to fictionally remove from the game by making it unfun for the killer to play them, thus the killer gets selected less so the survivors face the killer less meaning they stop complaining about the killer.
Like for example, deathslinger was considered unfun for survivor, so he was nerfed to be less attractive for killer players to play him. Survivors face deathslinger a lot less as a result. The same can be said for other killers like spirit, freddy, old legion etc. etc.
See I don't get that because I love playing against Victor its something different and if you win you can kick the little ****er.

I mean in just last 2 patches, they've nerf 3 charge time add-ons. Plague's rubbing oil, Oni's Scalp top Knot and Twin's Toy sword. Charge time reductions are really critical for killer gameplay for being able utilize powers against stronger survivor players. they're crucial for killer to have counter-play to survivor looping.
your complaint is similar one that I had when Oni's top knot got changed. it makes you not able land same dashes as you could before. Feels bad when survivor becomes power-role of your ability. That is ok though. Hope the survivor enjoy blight by daylight.
Thats the thing why make a clunky killer even more clunky. not to mention a 2% pick rate

I wouldnt say 0.05 seconds off a 0.25 second charge makes it useless. All it really requires is to use it like a demo shred at that point.
It seems like it shouldn't matter but I was just off of been able to hit them
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Rounder loops are more difficult for Victor to hit at. My method is to ‘back rev’ survivors at loops like that.
And Toy Sword is a brown add on. They should probably just move that add on to Very Rare (purple) and drop Spinning Top to common.
In my view, Toy Sword should have it’s rarity massively increased or maybe nerfed further. Ideally killers should feel a need to use higher rarity add ons to play better. Not rely on browns.
I was right in top of them at a rectangle loop and couldn't get the charge before they could make the corner.
The problem isn't the rarity I'm opinion it's that it's pretty much required for Victor to play alot of loops. There's no way it's effect should be higher then blowing at its stats. It one of the most used addons because the others are no good and not because the values are low but because the effects suck.

Why on earth am I playing with people that just started playing the game? They made legion look they a god. They went down multiple times because the couldn’t mend and missed a ton of skill checks. How is this game matching me someone with around 1k hours with peoples first games? The only good thing about this match was I got my 4 stacks of we’re gonna live forever.

Oh you're referencing the distance to your spawn point and yeah that makes sense but that's not the issue.
The issue is them spawning in the open, in sight when your camera rotates or in sight while working on a gen. None of these should happen tbh.
I agree but I feel like boons have added a new layer plus a new problem. They have been so hesitant to fix totems since hag came out I have little faith in it happening.

NGL, if Undying were basekit, I might run ruin AND another slowdown/gen regression perk with the extra slot, at least on some killers. And that would be kinda OP. Corrupt + Ruin + Undying using only two slots? Or maybe Grim Embrace?
So no, it absolutely should not be basekit.
I would be on board with reverting it to its original state, though.
Ruin doesn't really mix well with other regression perks by design I'm sure. If your blocking gens it's not regressing.

I'm not sure what you mean? I have watched every dev update since the launch of the game and I'm not sure what you're on about?
Ok I was wrong it wasn't last q&a but they said that they don't want to make it impossible for survivors to spawn within a certain area of Hexes because once you know there's a hex you know that it's not in that area of the map.
Boons are also a problem because if you make them to hard for the survivors to find then they are less likely to use them. On the killer side if boons are hidden really well and the killer has to spend a lot of time finding it they can become unbalanced.
-
@Snowbawlzzz said:

It's not even a God tier perk. You wouldn't run Undying on it'd own. It's used to make hexes last more then 20 seconds on average.

So fix the totem spawns on other maps, especially autohaven where you can see them in the open from 30m away
Totems have been this way since there release while they have gotten a little better I wouldn't count on them especially with boons.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
But iv used X & undying and lost them in 16seconds...
The real issue is totems spawns and survivor spawns
They said in the last q&a that they don't want to change spawns because then you could eliminate that part of the map as not having a hex.
-
@ShinobuSK said:

Because of totem spawns. Some of them are bad but on some maps they can be really hard to find and combine it with S tier killers, it would make them possibly way too strong in those situations while M1 killers would still only rely on RNG spawns.
There's like 3 maps with crazy hidden totems.

It's also one of very, very few killer perks that work the way survivor perks do.
Killers have to play the game as though every survivor has DS and every survivor has BT, because if they don't then they can be severely punished for it. NOED is one of the rare cases where the perk benefits killers who don't run it because survivors have to play like it is in play in case, or be punished when it is.
Alot of people don't think about this DMS and PR combo is gaining that reputation though. I find it funny that it's OK for 1 killer to have to assume and play around DH,BT,DS on 4 separate survivors but 4 survivors can't expect to play around noed that activates at end game.

I only run Oppression as a slowdown perk and it does me fine, one kick every 80 or so seconds.
But kicking gens is such a waste of time it takes like 2 seconds to kick a gen and the regression rate is 1/4 a charge per second. It takes a survivor .2 of a second to undo that 2 seconds of work and I find that most the time survivors will hit the difficult skill check.
On a positive note the new perk call of brine sounds right up your ally.

If you can do well with weak killers, the chances are you aren't really matching with tryhard sweat squad.
There is no time to actually "do well" with all those M1 killers.
I don't think thats necessarily true. I've done very well with my fav killer Myers. More often then not I'm going to do well because I know the killer. Yes I will probably lose more often then if I was playing my huntress and I do have games where I get destroyed because of map stuff+survivor skill.
It's not impossible to win with lower tier killers its hard to consistently win and you normally have to sweat hard form start to finish.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
"I deserve to win" is a bad mindset, but that doesn't excuse you working with the Survivor. That Nea played immersed the whole game, presumably not even touching a single gen, but you let her escape because she 'booped your snoot'
Working with the killer would be running around showing the killer where survivors are or body blocking them in chase.
He decided that because nea booped his snoot and hadn't been hook that she could have hatch. It's in every killers right to give hatch to specific survivor for whatever reasons they feel valid or to not kill anyone and let them all go or now I know this will make some people mad but kill all 4.
-
@JacksonWise said:
The devs won't ever do that because it's way too many debuffs being stacked and would be really overwhelming for new players.
I personally think they just need to tweak the values:
2 stacks of condemned gained when the Onryo emerges from a TV
A stacks of condemned is gained for every 25 seconds a survivor holds a tape.
A survivor loses 3 stacks of condemned from entering a tape into the proper TV.
All three would probably be a bit much but if they went with any combinatiin of 2 out of the 3 I think that would put condemned in a better spot.
From what I've heard it's just to slow to build up like you have to active ignore it or go out your way to actually end up Condemned.
I like your ideas it will make it more of a treat not the last gen pops and oh I'm Condemned better grab a tape. I'm a ps5 user so I haven't got to play her but I've seen a bit and while her map pressure is insane the almost no chase potential combined with the whatever Condemned grows. I'm worried she'll be everywhere the first week and then she will be a rarity. So much about her seems so cool I would hate to see her become like 90% of the rest.

That, every time it comes up, is a garbage suggestion that forgets that Killers need to be near hooks when they happen to have any kind of pressure. Not every unhook being risk-free and perfectly safe.
Whoa rule 341 clearly states the killer must stand in a corner after hooking a survivor(assuming there isn't a survivor with a flashlight in which case refer to rule 339) and allow them to unhook.
BTW rule 339 is you must allow a survivor to flashy shave if close by.
-
You already made a huntress post earlier. And no. No game developer should ever design around bad internet. You bought the game that's on you maybe you should have done some research about where the servers are for an indi pvp game.
80 ping is crap and I would dog that lobby evertime I'm in it.
-
Perks are probably one of dbds biggest issues.
First is that alot of what should have been base kit has been put into perks
Second is the first combined with only 4 perk slot.
Perks should modify the the game not hold 1 of 15 game mechanic but you can only let you use 4.
-
80 I would dodge that lobby 100% of the time.
-
It is definitely in bad shape right now imo. It's been on a steady decline for the pass 5 months which is the longest it has been ever I even had a big drop when the artist released and there is normally a big surge during killer releases.
Last gen consoles are Still a mess from what I hear so I'm sure the console player base has dropped as well.
Mmr is not really a problem because it doesn't work. If you keep getting throwing onto matches you shouldn't and keep winning/losing over and over then your mmr number means nothing because it's based off a bunch of mismatches. Mmr only works if your getting fair matches.
This game needs to get it together because players will keep leaving.

i'm not? im assuming the killer is chasing a survivor, a survivor that is being chased can't work on gens. even if boons benifit the whole team its not worth wasting 28 seconds on a hex totem instead of cleansing it and removing an obstacle in 14 seconds. unless boons remove hook state the cannot remove snowball potential, they can neglect pressure but the killer can still snowball.
Why would you try and bless a totem in the middle of a chase that makes no sense. Building pressure is the definition of snowballing. Giving the team the ability to self-care in 20 seconds is huge. It's less time then sef care, it's team wide, it takes away the need for to people to heal which mean that 3 survivors can work on gens while one survivor can rest and go back to chase. If a killer stays in the bad chase after he gets an injury it's pretty much the game for them and CoH makes it so I'd you leave that survivor they will just go heal by themselves removing any pressure you started and making all that time in chase a waste.
So if a killer 100% of there team gets in a chase for 20 seconds gets a hit and has to abandon that chase and then the survivor blesses a hex 28 seconds ans 20ish to self heal that removes all the pressure the killer started to build and now anytime they abandon a chase they fall farther into lost time. That's just 1/4 of the team.
-
@Yatol said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2817415#Comment_2817415
1/4 of the team but 1/4 of the team wasting time is just going to snowball the game into the killer's favor, 1/4 of the team not doing gens quickly changes into 2/4 not doing gens and so on. Wasting too much time booning eventually becomes a detriment since there's still gens to be done. 28 seconds is way too much time.
Your assuming that they go down right after blessing. With that boon up it takes 1/4 of the team to to what it normally takes 1/2 unlimited amount of times so that time investment by 1 survivor can benefit the team multiple times. It also can easily eliminate any snowball potential the killer has.

That is nice to hear, I heard PS5 doesnt really have many issues, I and many others are unfortunately stuck with last generation consoles, at least for the timing being, which seems to be where a lot of issues are.
I was fortunate enough to get a ps5 and it runs smoot but I played a long time on ps4 and was bad. I'm sorry to hear it hadn't got better.
Killer was pretty unplayable then as well I couldn't use certain perks like sloppy because the game would freak out and I would lose like 2 seconds worth of info.

booning an hex is 28 seconds while booning a dull totem is 14 seconds, thats twice the time. if the killer intervenes that time is wasted. This is almost as bad as self caring in a corner
They can still be cleansed in 14 seconds leaving 4 other totems to use. Plus if you take 28 seconds the whole team can befit from it which is huge,selfcare is just for you. Let's not forget if you do spend 28 seconds thats still only 1/4 of the team.

I know for a fact it'll make Survivors look like they're hacking, especially if they're looping the Killer on the edge of the Boon Totem, making the Killer unable to hear the Boon, but I only see that Perk combo working on an indoor map
I'm biggest two worries are main building some are already really strong and possible infinites that I can create forcing you to lose the chase to have to snuff the boon. Otherwise I don't think is a problem.
Oh and 110 killer might see real issues.

they didn't? they became way more common because booning an hex takes too much time.
You can still cleanse them for the same amount of time plus it's only 8 more seconds our of 1 of 4 survivors time. Survivors are also going out there way to look for totems because of boons so Hexes are lasting even lest time then normal

What do you think I'm thinking?
I'm just asking if you can prove that use of Hexes completely fell off once Boons were implemented because I don't really see that being true.. Ruin is still popular and powerful so long as it stays up and a lot of killers run Hex heavy builds that punish survivors who cleanse/bless over them what with Haunted Grounds/Retribution.
But again, if there's some kind of hard evidence showing that killers are just not using Hexes at all anymore please let me know/show me. I still use Hexes whenever I'm feeling like it on killer it's literally just up to my mood but I really don't think Boons made Hexes obsolete. Circle of Healing, the problem child, has made hit and run playstyle on killer obsolete but boons for the most part seem like fair trades. If boons could only be used once literally nobody would ever use them so that's just not going to happen or if it does then they will go obsolete.
What I'm saying is that you made a point and I made a counter point. You then asked for evidence for my point but gave no evidence yourself.
I'm saying Hexes fell off because of boon because survivors are now going out of there way to find boons and boons over write Hexes. I use to see ruin at least every other game when I played survivor about a week after boons I see it a few times a week.
Unless bhvr resales perk usage since boons came out we can only speculate on what we have seen and I have seen a huge decrease on Hexes since boons came out.

I think you weren't doing as good as you think you were doing, if that was the case. If you are getting extremely fast downs and have multiple people on the hook, you have insane pressure. Something about your story is off.
Not really survivors can leave teammates on hook and finish gens before they get to the next stage and without regression an gen progress is going to stay.
