  • These changes seem like they will help with mind gaming loops but I'm still a little worried about the tvs cooldown been longer then it takes to solo a gen.

Oh, I think it's annoying as well. I'm just saying sometimes body-blocking is the best move. It's fair in my opinion.

No one is saying it's not fair. I'll just wait out your BT and stick you back on the hook.

Well, yeah, I'd imagine that Lery's is annoying if you're playing a lot of Blight, Billy, or Nurse, but I mostly play basic M1 killers, so it's one of my favorite maps.

Had a Lery's game today using infinite T3 Michael and had a blast despite the larger terror radius and not even using M&R. Their problem wasn't that they couldn't find gens, it's that I wouldn't let them stay on them, and they took too long to decide to cleanse Ruin and Undying.

My memory might be flawed in this regard, but I feel like win most games on DD as both killer and survivor, so I don't know what side to take on that. But the fact that I'm always happy to see it no matter which side I'm playing as makes me feel like it's probably more or less balanced.

Huntress, slinger and Oni all have issues as well.

My main survivor build is a stealth build, and I do just fine. Urban Evasion, Iron Will, Distortion, Spine Chill. I can't loop for #########, but I survive 80% of my games when I run that build. As a killer main, I would hate to see more survivors running those sorts of combos... I spend more time crouching around gens/walls/whatever than I do looping.

I don't know what the game was like before I started playing a year and a half ago, but stealth is still a viable strategy.

Yeah, from what I understand, "genrushing" doesn't have the same meaning that it had before toolboxes were nerfed. Moris are only useful for dailies and as counter to flashlights.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2827988#Comment_2827988

A lot of these are good points. It's not a forgiving game for new players. You're either going to die a lot or 0k a lot. It took months of regular play before I even felt comfortable.

The grind is bad, but there is a halfway good reason for it, and that's cheaters. It's a good thing that people who get permabanned for using hacks can't just buy another account and immediately be back to where they were, which frustrates cheating more than any number of technical measures that the devs do (or don't) put in place. That's the reason you can't buy bloodpoints, and it's a strong argument for leaving the grind where it is.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2827994#Comment_2827994

    That is true.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2827998#Comment_2827998

I don't know if Dead Dawg is killer-sided, but I don't know if it's survivor-sided, either. It seems like a pretty balanced map.

Midwich and Lery's are killer-sided, and I would argue that Gideon's is still somewhat killer-sided even after the changes, on the basis of the fact that I win most of my games on that map as killer and lose most of them as survivor.

Midwich is the best shift w map in game newer survivors just can't find gens and die alot. Lerrys shuts down half the killers powers due to all the windows and tight corners. DD is a good killer map because it's small and doesn't have a crazy number of safe loops but has a decent main building.

  • The problem is alot of survivors want to just sit on gens or w as far away so it take 30 seconds for the chase to start. So you get less injuries less hooks and that equals less points.

    Unhooking

    Healing

    Cleansing totems(lol)

    Been in chase

These all earn BP but lately it's been do gens, make the chase last for 1:30 but only 20 seconds were actually in chase and been scored and you end up with low BP.

I got 20k today doing a magpie build never touched 1 gen and searched like 6 chests and made a few heals and saves.

  • So since I escape 5 times in a row with slippery meat does that make slippery meat op? Also I had ace in the hole equip(wanted open handed lol) and got out 3 matchs ace in the hole must be op?

  • My biggest problem is the time it takes. When the community as a whole has a problem it will take 6-12 months for them to even acknowledge the problem let alone fix it. Thats ok for a pve or single player game but this is a live service pvp game fixes need to be done in a timely manner not sit and wait for a year.

I understand that the devs might get alot of criticism but sorry that comes with the job. Your creating a product for other people to enjoy of course there's going to be criticism and backlash. Now death threats and stuff like that doesn't come with the job and isn't ok.

  • Thanks everyone I know that this is a tough one especially with been able to jump into lockers.

This. I have always felt old Billy was in a very good spot, fun to play as and against, just the insta-saw being trouble. He was commonly played so survs got used to versing him. So clunky after the rework. Now I'll see two per month at best.

    Sadface.

Right everyone was like can you remove his insta saw. Bhvr said no problem. Full addon rework, over heat and a terrible scream just what the community wanted.

  • Anyone remember when Billy was considered the most balanced killer in game with a couple problematic addon.

    Poor Billy

  • @Gameboyman99 said:

Looping is entirely how the game was intended. If looping was reworked to no longer be a viable mechanic, survivors would basically be gauranteed to be downed the moment they are found. This would be horrible.

Actually looping wasn't an unintended mechanic and the community liked it over the hide and seek gameplay the game was originally designed like and the devs leaned into it.

You have to also consider the level you are in comparison to these killers. If you are seeing a lot of these killers, then you are probably reached a level of gameplay where those killers are hit a glass ceiling and are floundering at that level. What's unfortunately for you is that you will be forced using DS and BT to get past that level. Meaning 1 of your perk slots will always need to be dedicated to DS or BT.

Thats not what I mean at this point matchmaking will throw any killer into a lobby if they have been waiting long enough completely throwing mmr out the window. This also completely invalidates mmr since that match was a mismatch and will be reflected in your mmr. So mmr is actually bs since matchmaking I'd prioritized over mmr.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/312036/every-killer-is-camping-every-match

Killers have always camped and always tunneled.

SBMMR actually helps you in that aspect, because Killers who are camping and tunneling are pushed up in SBMMR so that they go against players who can handle that type of behavior.

Match making would like to have a word with you.

Yes, clearly this is a "get good" issue and not a broken ass killer issue. I'm sure it's just dumb luck he is one of highest rated top MMR killers.

If I didn't know that it was my fault for taking the risk, I would've flamed the Meg or the Killer, but I knew and laughed it off. I didn't tell Meg that it was her fault, point the blame at the Killer for using the perk, all I said was "lol gg".

The killer was the one who went on a rampage about "you should've done this" & "you should've done that" and got all preachy about the whole outcome, accusing us of BMing and being greedy.

That is something I will not stand by.

I'm just saying. I did seem like you took accountability and idk what the killer was so mad about as a killer I love when survivors get greedy like that it normally works in my favor.

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

What constitutes a "greedy" play? There wasn't even a hint of greed in my body when I went for Meg.

If altruism is considered greedy then I have nothing to say anymore.

You could either get out Scott free no danger or go back in and take a chance at losing it all. It is greedy.

Now with that been said as long as you expect that it was your fault for dieing then I see no issue. I will go in and try to save that survivor that bubba is facecamping after we finish the gens because I want to and when I die oh well I did it myself.

I disagree. The number of times I see newbies who don't know how to loop and just run out in the open use DH, and it usually just results in one missed attack, and the killer will catch up pretty quickly. It buys them like an extra few seconds at best. I think it takes a good couple hundred hours in the game to really understand loops and tiles. It's only mid-tier/experienced survivors that really know how to use DH properly to connect loops, make the distance in loops, etc, in my opinion. I'd argue DH is the opposite: it's far more effective in higher ranks than lower ranks.

An example of the type of 'crutch' perk you're talking about would be, say, Spine Chill. I used that perk all the time as a newbie as I didn't really understand heartbeats/terror radius etc, and stealth killers used to terrify me. Now I'm more experienced, I never run it because I know how to rotate the camera, look out for moving birds, killer breathing, etc. It's a crutch for beginners, but becomes pretty useless in higher ranks.

But that's not how it was intended I'm pretty sure the DH for distance was an unforseen effect. Dh would only work to dodge hit it probably be less effective at higher level just my opinion.

I still love stealth killers they always show up during a skill checks or the moment I rotate my camera.

Spine chill also works in the vault speed build but I would agree it's mostly that it's used as a crutch.

  • @KerJuice said:

COH looking real good now, huh?? 😹

    J/K

That perk needs to be launched into orbit.

  • Crutch perks are supposed to be like unrelenting is your new and not good you'll get tins of value but as you get better and don't miss as much it's value drops. DH is the worst kind of crutch perk there is one that works at low levels and high.

  • @Cetren said:

Unpopular opinion, I actually really like DH. Every other exhaustion perk just creates a massive gap and the next 30 seconds is just hold W gaming. Dead hard can be mindgamed, baited, countered used in different ways. Itdoesn't create so much distance that it breaks an intense chase, but is still useful. I think sprint burst / lithe are very low skill floor and skill ceiling. Dead hard is a lot less mindless imho.

Actually sprint burst probably has the hight skill ceiling for exhaustion perks. Most people just run around and waste it 90% of the time. 99% sprint burst Actually takes some skill.

If a survivor DH to a pallet or window they can reset the chase almost.

If you think it's that much of a waste of time to swap targets, just eat the DS.

But don't complain that when you tunnel, you get hit with the one anti-tunnelling perk survivors have.

Noed punishes survivors who stay on gens and don't bother locating totems to cleanse or remember.

It punishes survivors who did 4/5 totems much harder than those who did none.

I don't really have a problem with ds untell late game when tunneling has to happen because there isn't any other real option. I will eat it if I find someone I just hooked on accident.

My point is they remove killer efficiency just like doing totems removes survivor efficiency.

I do agree they need to add a totem counter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826100#Comment_2826100

I wouldn't say Unbreakable is a problem, but that perk is the one that turns around games unlike the other 3 that just buy that particular survivor a bit of time. Especially if paired with soul guard as you can use it much more aggressively which is key end game.

And everytime a killer slugs a survivor the first time you know there thinking I hope they don't have UB.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826096#Comment_2826096

"just swapping target" is extremely wasteful because, otherwise, those perks didn't need to exist from the beginning.

Without existence of DS and BT, killers would be able to kill a survivor one or two minutes faster, which is certainly more impactful than 20% progression loss of NOED (if you decide to do bones before gate is powered, anyway).

UB is not a problem though, I don't think anyone actually playing around that perk after all.

Survivor can complete there objective in about that amount of time though and the killer has to do it 3 more times. Now if you respect noed all the gens wouldn't be done in 3-4 minutes.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2826087#Comment_2826087

And my point is that you lose practically nothing. All it takes to counter BT and DS is just to swap targets, which takes legitimately zero seconds. All it takes to counter UB is to pick the target up, which doesn't cost you any time either, since that's already part of your objective progression.

Compared to NOED, which requires you to slow objective progression by around 20%, if not more.

The only thing I'll give you, and which I've been advocating for, is that BT should strip unit collision for the duration of the Endurance effect so they can't bodyblock you when you're trying to go for the unhooker.

1-2 gens left switching targets can be a huge disadvantage because you need to remove a player. If you down a survivor and the is one or more around or some one going for a save slugging is required. They remove crucial killer strategies were in one chase you can be down to 2 gens and have no way to build pressure because you have to respect said perks.

Noed punishes survivors who stay on gens and don't bother locating totems to cleanse or remember.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Because NOED is not the meta.

And Circle of Healing, now. Cleansing totems is basically sandbagging your team.

I would are you pretty much have to expect at least one CoH.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/312009/ds-bt-ub-dh

DS: Requires you to not pick up the survivor who was pulled off the hook the past 60 seconds, as long as they haven't done anything to progress survivor states.

BT: Requires you to either not be at the hook during an unhook, or simply not hit the unhooked target for 8 seconds.

DH: Can be uncounterable, so to what degree do you need to 'expect or respect' this perk?

    UB: Just pick them up.

DS + UB: Leave them slugged and let them burn their one shot at UB, or let DS time out. Either way, they're on the ground for an extended period of time and cannot help their team.

NOED: Find and cleanse all five totems and hope the killer has NOED. Failure to clear even a single totem means all effort wasn't just wasted, it was actively detrimental to the survivors' chances of escape.

Seriously, DS is the perk with the most light-weight counterplay in the entire game, and you're trying to compare it to NOED, which has by far the most overweight counterplay in the entire game.

But what if you do those and non of those perk are actually in play? The same goes for doing bones is my point noed is really the only perk survivors have to respect or it can be really bad yet the average counter is I'm not doing it for a perk they might not even have.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

I have no problems with Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, or Decisive Strike. Those three perks exist specifically to protect you from killer strats I can avoid simply by not engaging in those behaviors.

    DEAD HARD IS THE PROBLEM.

Thats not what I mean like the counter to ds is slug if you think they have ds or bt I'd just wait it out and don't hit. My point is most of the counters involves assuming that they have said perk and playing around it and all 4 survivors can have all of them. Yet just do bones is normally countered by I'm not doing bones for something that might not even happen.

  • Cheating has a clear definition

The definition is "act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination"

Looking down to avoid collision was an intended mechanic by design so its not Cheating in anyway shape or for you just don't like that he can do it.

  • Just had a match on dead dawg where we finished 4 gens and no killer so I went looking. Well bubba wasn't to happy I went in his basement. I got kindred and my teammates got off gens. i mean huntress did have other decent add-ons like... iri head+infantry belt. When it comes to killer add-ons, if the killer add-on is not better than what the killer player currently has available, than why would the player consider choosing a worse add-on unless they're purposely sabotaging their chances to win.

I think the truth is that survivors mains dislike a vast majority of the killer cast hence dev make killer super safe and weak on purpose. Now you get OP post where he is complaining on facing the same killer. Its like imagine the new perk for survivor is No mither. Do you think survivors would switch their super meta build to run new perk No mither? I don't think so.

Survivor players sabotage their own chances of facing a variety of killers.

Why would you expect a killer player to play No-mither level killer?

Survivor players are like, why aren't you playing a more variety of killers?

    Killer players: Pikachu face

I was thinking the same thing after I responded. You never see survivors running no mither yet most the killer addons are like no mither.

  • @prion11 said:

I have been playing dbd since the beginning of february now. I am almost iridescent 1 on killer, which I main for 80% of my games playing pyramid head, trickster, and pig. I basically only play survivor for dailies or if I have friends that want to join.

Let me explain some things in detail:

    1. I do not facecamp. Facecamping is bad strategy. It gives the other 3 survivors tons of free time to do gens and find my totems.
    2. I DO tunnel. I tunnel A LOT. If I hook someone, go check a couple of gens, then get the unhook notification, I am going to chase them both down and then choose to hit the person who is injured. Most of the time, that is the person who was just unhooked. If both are injured, I'll hit whoever is closest.
    3. If there are only 1 or 2 gens to go and I have someone on second hook, I'm not leaving. I will not stand in front of them without moving, but I'm not leaving the area. Can you convince me that there is a better play than this?
    4. If I am leaving the area to patrol gens after scoring a hook and I see someone lurking for the save, I am no longer leaving. As pyramid I can get an easy punishment of the damned collateral. With pig I can stealth around the hook and get an easy grab. That's not camping, that's the consequence of bad survivor play.
    5. If I am chasing an injured player who has been unhooked, I will completely ignore healthy survivors that are clicking flashlights or trying to block me until I down the injured survivor. If someone is actually impeding my progress by standing directly on me, I'll take the free hit. But as soon as I take that free hit I am back to chasing the original, hook stated survivor.
    6. If I am up against a team running a sabotage/flashlight save strategy, I will leave people slugged all over the place until the flashlight or toolbox holder is out of commission. Why would I not, if it just removes the effectiveness of the items that were brought? Yes, unbreakable is a risk, but I rarely see more than one person running it at a time recently. It's usually DH BT DS and then either Iron will or CoH.
    7. In conclusion, as killer every decision you make takes time. Your time is worth 4X more than a survivor's time. But kicking one player from the game as soon as possible knocks that value down to 3X. Which makes it easier to knock down to 2X. And so on, this is how the killer wins. In my eyes, this is efficient gameplay.
    8. Perks like devour hope, BBQ, and make your choice incentivize a more run and gun playstyle away from your hooks. I know that they exist, but I'm not here to farm bloodpoints with BBQ. I am here to hit rank 1 ASAP

I will await your responses, as playing like this gives me consistent 3 and 4ks, and consistent elo and mmr boosts.

Tunneling only works if you can get them back down fast if they can continue to run you it will backfire. Camping only works if the survivors make it work if they smash gens chances are you'll walk out with 1k and like 9k BP.

I generally start tunneling around 2 gens because someone has to leave the game now or it's going to be rough.

Also if you get unhooked in front of me and I go after the unhooker and you try to flashy save I will tunnel you I gave you a chance and you ran right back at me your not getting 2.

Boring is just an excuse to nerf something. It doesn't actually mean anything nor should balance changes be made based on something being "boring".

I've have noticed that boring is the new OP.

  • Why do people complain about seen the same addon and go on its boring? Most addons don't change the actual gameplay they just reduce cooldown or add a effect you can get from a perk. The addons that change gameplay normally come with so crazy downside or activation requirements where you have to play bad.

  • The fix the crazy roll back because I can get hits when I should. I've never seen it like you said I always get my hits before I take a stun or I don't get the hit. As a survivor I haven't had anything like this happen either. Vaults though from what I understand is your hit box lags plus desync and have had some ######### hits on vaults

There's a reason it harder to find 1 player on the killer side then it is to find 4 survivors. Survivors have entitlement think just because the lose they have the right to say whatever they want.

BTW camping and slugging are endorsed but BHVR DCing isn't. You broke the rules and got in trouble I don't understand the problem.

It's the opposite on the weekends, especially Fridays. Fridays are the only time where I know I have to go full on sweat. But weekdays? Forget about it. It's literally like playing the game on easy mode. Extremely not fun.

And then I want to play survivor for the challenge (and my main, Nurse, is disabled), but then I have to wait forever. And that is just not worth it.

It's the opposite over her night on the weekends it pretty chill. Crazy

    I'm on East Coast, USA.

I play mostly between 11Pm and 1 AM. Sometimes up to 3Am.

Survivors during those hours are absolutely atrocious, outside of fridays (and saturdays. sometimes)

Thats crazy it's the opposite over here on the west.

Why am I getting the exact opposite feeling from everyone?

Literally, all my survivors are horrible. I have yet to 3-4k every game for the past month. At first, I thought it was MMR and now I'm not sure.

What server do you play on?
