I tried. Came from behind walls etc. The second they hear the lullaby they are on guard, and it's as if I'm playing an M1 killer - as soon as I'm in the open, they know where I am and can safely start looping me.

Can they hear you manifest and demanifest? It seems like anytime I do either in a loop they know and w to a different loop.

Sure, her perks are great. The only reason I bought her tbh. I'm not sure how much game knowledge helps when survivors just pre-drop every pallet and keep holding forward though. Sure, maybe there's a random, convenient TV to teleport to, if I get lucky. I'm also not sure what these good add-ons are you're referring to, maybe I'm just not seeing the potential. TV's turning on 6 seconds faster? Great, only 94 instead of 100 seconds! Blindness status? Please. The Ring Drawing has potential, but requires survivors to heal each other, something happening less frequently now that survivors have infinite AOE medkits. What are these add-ons that make her strong?

To me, she plays like Pig without ambush and RBT's. Pig can crouch to stealth, but doesn't require a manifestation period afterwards. Sure, she's not invisible, so I guess it's not entirely similar.

The iri videotape is really strong and bloody fingernails should be basekit. The one that spreads condemned by healing I'd actually pretty good as well I've gotten a few moris from it.

I know Law as she plays more like a Freddy I suspose

She's closer to Myers or Ghostface where she just kind of appears really close but with a map presence imo.

It's pretty hard not to notice. We get more bug fixes than content.

Thats ok we got a new killer and survivor and a bunch of game health. Not every patch has to be loaded with content. Game health is arguably more important.

Can we agree that to say something is too strong, one need to have used it himself at high MMR?

Let's say, win ten games in a row then, when you are versing the top players, see how OP you are ... or not.

For killers, it's easy to try.

For survivors it may be a bit more difficult as one needs a good team to play in proper conditions.

I suspect we can avoid a lot of pointless noise if we do this.

There's way to many thing that can factor into that like level, perks the other team brought, what killer your playing or vs.

Why do you do it? Why do you add skins for licensed characters that aren't even in the movie? Look at what you did to ghostface, he has literal ice outfit and am I expected to get excited when I see him? It's dumb. Nemesis with his blighted outfit, why? You ruined his look from RE3. He should've gotten a skin from the older games but not a blighted one. I just really hope Michael Myers doesn't get a blighted skin because I thought dbd was a game where we have these horror icons but you're changing their appearance? Oh I'm going against sadako? Hell yeah, oh wait, what is that new skin she has? THAT'S NOT EVEN SADAKO. All I hope is for people to not buy these outfits because they completely change the characters look and makes a licensed character less worthy. I mean, would you have bought nemesis if his blighted skin was his default?

The new skin looks sick I like it.

Ghostface is just the mask and the the character from scream.

It's not the same. It's up ten percent or more if any one month is compared to the same twelve months prior. For instance in your January example: January 2022's 40,000 is greater than January 2021's 36,000.

The Steam Charts does not make me think DBD is dying. It makes me think that the peaks DBD reached during Summer 2021 were so insane for a game like this and was so high that even though the game clearly has more users than a year ago over the last six months (or the year before) that it somehow looks bad. These arguments look like bad analytics to me.

And VHS hasn't accomplished anything. Dowsey's back to playing DBD religiously if yall want to go there. He's all aboard the Sadako hype train and I'm glad he's releasing more content.

Your right that's my bad I was looking at February 2022. That still doesn't change that the gain and gain % has been dropping.

It might not be dieing yet but it's on its way.

I still have no clue on why people here are not seeing the concern of a game losing players for 6 months straight.

Me either I could understand 1-3 but even after the artist dropped the playerbase still fell.

There's clearly a continuous drop in the playerbase and last gen consoles are still having alot of problems I hear so you can assume the console playerbase has probably drop even more.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

DBD has more users than it did a year ago. Maybe it’s in the decline but I’m still enjoying myself.

No last year in January it was averaging 36k player that month and it's the same this last January. It's also down 2k from last January's perk.

It's literally been losing players for 6 straight months and it been more every month. Dbd has never done this before.

  • See thats not ok.

BTW I'm a killer main and not ok with this

  • Sorry everyone I didn't realize it was so hard to see. It's from my ps5 and can easily see it on the TV ill mess with the pic and see if I can make it better

And that's exactly what I don't want encouraged. Which is why BT shouldn't be baseline.

DS would be fine, hookbombing for that is way more punishable with a slug.

Plus you can bodyblock with bt so I hope that doesn't carry over the the base kit version.

DS base kit is a little scary and possibly very abuse able as well. I know alot of times I get unhooked and the killer is close and the person that unhooked me is hiding leaving me out to be farmed.

  • @drsoontm said:

What is it with bad (as inexperienced) players trying to irk the killer?

Tell me, how many times have you been in this situation playing killer?

You can't depip anymore and you want play casually and nice for a change. But instead of having a few good chases without a care in the world, a few survivors seem to decide they can try to poke you and click their flashlight 20 times per second and make noise all around.

Everybody likes good, aggressive, cocky survivors : the usually give the best games (win or lose).

But then you start playing normally, you put them down way too easily and they end up crying tears of salt in the chat. (Usually calling you a noob)

Normally you first learn to play and then, out of boredom, you learn how to get the attention. Not the other way around.

Are try trying to emulate some streamer?

I do it because sitting on gens is boring and it has also improved my chase skill tremendously.

  • @Tsulan said:

Endgame perks should be game changing strong. Since the killer is playing the whole match with 1 less perks.

I assume all the people that asked the killer to jump through hoops in order to earn NOED, also want survivors to earn Adrenaline.

Not just adrenaline iron will and deadhard are activated one getting injured which is the killer doing there job.

  • @Firellius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2837271#Comment_2837271

Not technically. Any unhooked survivor will get the endurance effect when unhooked with BT.

But if the killer is six, seven seconds away from the hook, they're not catching up in time to trigger it. So in practice, BT still only works if the killer is close to the hook.

Still, BT baseline is pretty dumb, IMO. It's a perk that supports hook bombing, it shouldn't be baseline. DS would be a better pick.

There's also so many times I'll turn around after hooking a survivor and walk 2 steps and someone has already unhooked them.

Games and media that can trigger epilepsy come with a content warning. BHVR really need to add one.

Are you serious this game doesn't have a warning? I don't have that problem so I don't really look for it bit with the doc alone justifies there been a warning.

  • @FriendlyBubba said:

My cousin suffers from epilepsy and those ######### survivors gave my cousin an extreme seizure. Foam came out of his mouth and it scared the living crap out of me. Can we do something about this, BHVR, or is it too much to ask for a solution? Because you nearly killed him.

Sorry to hear this and hopefully they are OK. Bhvr needs to address this it servers no gameplay purpose.

You’re kidding right? 50% faster reloading, plus the good ol’ BBQ + Iron Maiden combo. Yes, it does help the, very much. Meanwhile Huntress grabs one hatchet and reloads up to eight somehow.

Do you really think I makes sense for the killer to spend 15+ seconds to pick up 8 hatches one at a time. Realism isn't that a big deal when the makn antagonist of the game is a giant black spider fog monster.

  • @eleventbh said:

Why does it need to be earnable? Just alert survivors of NOED when the gates are powered/hatch is closed. Hopefully that would reduce complaints and make it more fair. Alternatively, cleansing totems as an objective could be incentivized better, but I've always thought that would hurt NOED too much.

I mean if your running noed you did play the whole game with only 3 perks. If you bring CI its 2 perks most of the game.

Exactly. Imagine being a Trapper or something and having 2-3 survs spawn in next to gens on the other side of Red Forest or something. You're pretty much screwed.

I've had this happen with huntress and I lost 2 gens before I could even get close to them.

Play stealth killers or run stealth/tracking perks if it bothers you that much, you have options. Plenty.

Myers is one of my favorite killers to play problem is though he's easily looped and countered by w. I still enjoy him though I hate spine chill though.

Let me get this straight. You think that survivors should purposefully play badly to match your inability to find them/chase them? At the end of the day, their goal is to get out of the exit gates. Survivors like getting in chases just as much as you like to chase, but most players are not going to play suboptimally to give you free chases. You earn your chases as killer.

I swear, killers on this forum have small weapon energy.

Let me get this straight you think I should waste 30-40 seconds walking to a survivor just to start a chase then get in a chase for 40 seconds? Also it still takes 6-7 seconds from hearing the heart beat for a killer to get to that gen. I can find and chase just fine it's the time invested in to actually getting close enough to start the chase mechanic.

But I guess if you want to stare a gens all day thas cool. I would rather interact with the other players in a PVP game.

  • @Smeagolthevile said:

No, dear god no. 'everyone uses it, its one of the most popular perks, so just give it to us for free'

Lemme translate that to survivor. 'everyone uses dead hard, lets just make it a base part of the survivor kit'

If you think bbq is so popular because of the aura effect you are seriously misinformed. If they removed the bq gain you wouldn't ever see it ran.

  • @Veinslay said:

They're like comp player try hards. I've ran into a couple of teams like this. As soon as they hear the heartbeat they're shift+Wing across the map already. It's boring as #########. Usually ends in like 1-2 hooks and me opening the gates for them so they'll gtfo

This is exactly it and it's so boring I feel like I'm playing a walking sim. I'll pop the gates and then they have to wait the whole timer out but jokes on them I left my headphones on and left the game to go do something else.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

You know Corrupt only blocks 3 gens, right? There's still other 4 you can pressure.

I've seen this coming up alot lately CI is boring it stops me from doing gens. No it stops you from doing gens you spawn on top of there's still plenty of gens to do.

Boring is the new op I've noticed.

  • @ukenicky said:

they're probably scared to be face camped on first hook to death

The thing is the more you avoid the killer and the later it gets in the game the chances of been tunneled and facecamped start to increase.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

That's not the survivors' fault. Blame the devs for making maps the size of Narnia and anti-chase killers.

I can agree with you about map size but even playing m1 killers they do the same.

  • @Smeagolthevile said:

As a survivor I am seeing it more and more. Half the time its used w/ nemesis' perk that shows you all survivors which, while frustrating, makes the start of the game have meaning. The other half is just to give the killer more time. As a survivor though... its just boring. You see that you cant do gens and either find a totem to bless or hide in a locker (or somewhere else) and wait. It may as well be an extra few minutes onto the lobby w/ the off chance that you die.

I understand where they are coming from with the mechanic and what its meant to do, but its just boring to play against, not frustrating or annoying, not broken, just boring

You know CI only blocks 3/7 gens there's still 4 gens you can go find and do you don't have to wait at a blocked gen for 2 minutes thats your choice.

And what does gaining mmr give you? Can you tell your mmr? My experience is that mmr doesn't seem to count for anything. I get up against as many beginners as I get up against people with 1000hrs+ its pretty damn random.

Honestly I have no idea why so many killers are so concerned about mmr it just gives you harder and more sweaty games. I understand stand why survivors want to push up there mmr because in theory you would be getting better teammates.

Ever since the release of mmr the community has become opposed with the invisible number.

It's hard, but I finally got it in a match with a Bloodwarden Demodog. The silly goose miscalculated how long he would be able to leave me sitting on the ground after I was a kiss away from wiggling out.

Also, a streamer cussed me out that game for being "useless" because I healed before going for the save on her friend and banned me from her chat lmao--joke's on her, I got my daily, archive, and the achievement that game! Imagine saying "people like that should have a license to breed," smh.

FAIR WARNING: Sometimes it feels like the achievement doesn't count properly--I had three matches where I swear I did enough, and it stayed stubbornly at 6/8. It's rough.

I think I can do it I'm a mediocre survivor killers just started leaving me mid chase.

Please clarify this for me? Personally I get more points playing 'normally' even if all 4 survivors escape.

The thing is once you have everything BP is pointless so when you chase and hook you don't gain mmr therefore focusing on kills is all that's really left.

Me personally I don't camp in any game because I find it boring even at end game chances are ill go try and get a few more chases in.

  • @CryptFriend said:

Okay hear me out, what if dbd had competitive where when you join like anyone can run any perks they want against random players and then make it so the dc penalty only affects those in competitive, personally speaking I don’t think people who dc due to how teammates are playing or how scummy a player is should be punished for it or when the server has a delay like other games that have competitive modes or “ranked” if you will have a dc penalty then but why does dbd have a dc penalty for just basic gameplay?

People already dc over almost anything if you remove the DC penalty it will get to the point where people load in a go oh said level dc, I don't like this killer dc,oh I don't like where that bush is dc.

I'd like to know what you all would think of a chapter like this and the possibilities of killers, survivors and abilities

The Alternate - It's always changing forms/stages 1-3, maybe it would use illusions and distort your vision making it hard to see. the distortion would increase with it's voice or whispers which cause fear to go up, with enough fear the alternate becomes undetectable

Special ability??? It tricks survivors into seeing another teammate, the closer it gets the slightly more distorted its disguise becomes and shows its true form when 5m away or in a chase.

Survivors - Mark, Cesar, Jonah and Adam.

The doctor already does most of this and it seems people hate all the extra screen effects and sounds.

I've always wanted a killer that can shape-shifting or look like a survivor something like that unfortunately as soon as you bring comms in it pretty much destroys there power.

  • Over the last week I went against her 3 times. Before that I had only seen her 3 times after the nerf.

I totally wrecked all 3 spirits really really bad. It felt bad to completely destroy one of my favorite killers.

  • It used to be DH but over the last fee months it's proven thyself. Gen speeds are already quick and I swear a couple decent survivors running this perk I swear no matter what I do gens pop left right and center.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IKJ65T9M0X39/20220306-003329.jpg

Why after 5 months of not playing am I facing coordinated swf squads in red ranks?? Game 1 was a bunch of twitch streamers 🙄

In both games I got totally outperked. DS'd twice on final hook stage at 2 gen, deadharded multiple times, constant borrowed time, bodyblocked at hook once and at then straight away to the exit moments later. I only managed a single kill in 2 games despite scoring 58,400 in both games combined. At one stage, I had 3 of them downed in a single demon fury run, yet they still managed to fully heal, spread out to different gens and basically follow me around the map as if they're the killers.

Didn't tunnel or camp, and that's clearly where I went wrong as I played well in both games (Landed most demon strikes) just they outperked me without making a single mistake.

Been playing since the huntress release with the odd break here and there, but unless you play dirty as the killer, you're getting smashed by the power role.

Your mmr doesn't degrade when not playing so when it does work(lol) it assumes your still as good before your break.

It refers to how many cosmetics keep coming out, opposed to the amount of fixes and changes. Or rather, the frequency of ‘em dropping.

Either way, it doesn’t hold up all that well because they’re different teams.

They can stop putting so much resources towards cosmetic and put more into game health.

We get like 3-4 changes per patch on average which is laughable for a live service game.

  • It's fine there pick rate will increase with the next tome.

  • No the fact that the grind is hundreds of hours long and brand new player getting put into matches with players with hundreds and even thousands of hours. It's not really as new player friendly as they claim it is.

I've been noticing that it seems as if SBMMR has increased across all my killers when I actively was playing 1 killer. So killers I had established a baseline with already, after play 1 killer exclusively for a while, then going back to a killer I was playing badly with, it seems as if that killers group of survivors is much much better than when I play that killer last.

That's kind of a weird way to implement SBMMR if that is the case.

For what I understand all of your killers will be about 200 mmr lower max from your highest rated killer. So while each killer does technically have there own mmr values they are so small that it doesn't actually make a difference.

Plus you know matchmaking so mmr is pointless.
