Instead of changing how base mechanics like regression and hex functionality for lower tier killers we buff these killers to have a movement power, better chase, or both (hey trapper and legion) so they can stand their own vs the best teams.
I think we should adjust the gen speeds depending on the killer being used. Ones that have low mobility and map pressure should get a little more time to compensate.
I personally think we should just bring back old ruin. That helped ALL killers. Current ruin only helps killers that can apply pressure. Let's face it, a lot of them have a hard time doing this.
-
Anything that helps killer triggers survivors. I've seen threads of people complaining about monstrous shrine for the entitys sake. The sad part is some of said threads don't sound like bait threads. The poster really thinks the perk is OP.
-
My opinion on this topic. There are some perks I simply do not like facing against but at the end of the day, the only person I can control is myself. If you didn't pay for my copy of the game you have no right to tell me what I can and cannot use.
-
I just checked the steam charts. The game still has an average of 52k players in the last 30 days. I'm sure people aren't happy with the current state but if it were dying, id think that number would be much lower.

i have hit survivors through pallets (and they dont camp them) i feel pallets are more fair now tbh, survivors have suffered for almost 5 years those bs hits
5 years of BS hits? Were you not around when pallet vacuum was a thing?
As for hits now. If I dont make the hit, thats fine. Just fix the sound effect so I dont think I connected and it turned out nothing happened.
-
I don't know how I feel about the sbmm. Some killers it feels fine then I get thrown against a sweat squad and barely get 1k. Then there are times when I play a killer I never use and I get treated like I'm using my main.

Its the new hitbox validation thing. Happens constantly now. It was supposed to remove survivors being hit after they drop a pallet.
At least once a game now survivors give me the injured sound but dont get injured on pallet drops. Its just more bandaiding on the horrible coding in this game.
Oh that's what that is. I was wondering what that was. I've been having that happen a lot lately.

it's really not that hard to hit people through pallets...
https://clips.twitch.tv/DepressedColdRamenPicoMause-_T8hFDPjF1BjoUp-
Unless they are baby survivors most people I get don't wait at the pallet. They either drop it the moment they don't see my red stain or they anticipate the juke and keep running. Causing me to miss and they get another loop out of it.

You said so yourself, it only works against trash survivors. So why are you complaining about it? Or am I missing something?

As killer or survivor my issue is I run a different build for fun and I get into a situation where I'm facing a sweaty killer/swf and I really needed those good perks. I often don't run DS or NOED until I get frustrated. If your ever in a match with me and you get hit by ds/noed. Odds are it's because my previous match was a bad experience.

Exactly this broken AF, and not fun
I think the person holding the box is not suppose to get hit by chains when solving it and it's currently bugged. If they hold onto it however they keep getting chains. His chain hunt is the one good thing he's got going for him. It's a lot of map pressure. Take that away and he is basically an M1 killer with some close range anti loop.
When I play as pinhead I run the popular combo of hoarder+franklins. When someone picks up that box I almost drop what I am doing and go hunting for them. Just so I can get the chain hunt and slow down the gens. I find the best thing to do is if you find the box go to an area with big open areas so you can see pinhead coming. If you can wait for him to down and pick up a survivor. If you try to solve the box during that, unless your close, has range+solving time add ons, he probably won't be able top interrupt you.

That is one thing the Friday the 13th game had correct...if you were not prepared for Jason you were dead...you learned to fear the killer.
You had to gather resources and work as a team to keep each other alive because 1 vs 1 you would not survive most of the time.
Imagine what that game could have been if not for the lawsuit

SBMM makes the game more competitive (ironic, DBD considered) which creates far more scenarios across all MMR levels where the killer feels they have to tunnel if they want to win, or just do well, against good teams. It's also common among the lowest skill levels because it's incredibly effective against bad players.
People complain about gen regression perks and tunneling, rather than blaming the games failure to be balanced as a whole at a fundamental level, which causes a lot of the negativity that exists in game and the more frequent need for these things.
When bhvr made the game they could not have predicted the end game play style. They assumed survivors would actually try to hide from the killer. However survivors learned it's perfectly safe to run to a gen and immediately start working. If the killer shows up you can get to a jungle gym before he gets to you. If you play the game the way they intended it's balanced but if you want to play to win, it's broken.
-
When I play killer I always laugh when a console player tries to 360 my M!.
"I'm sry. Did you think that would work?"
You can always turn off cross platform.
-
What would you rather have?
A pinhead with hoarder+franklins or A spirit/blight with ruin+undying+tinkerer?
For the love of god stop nerfing everything the killer gets. Maybe if you let them have something nice you won't face the same 3 killers every game.

very unlikely because people are still playing despite the changes we've listed above. Just saying for a DBD competitor to kick things into high gear. Hipsters will continue to praise it because they'll support anything because they want to worship the very soil that runs out the back end of the devs of a failed game.
We desperately need some real competition. Unless this game starts bleeding players BHVR isn't going to strive to fix the bugs or improve the core mechanics.

The devs just need to stop playing games with the DC penalty and keep it permanently in. "Oh, but a few people were crashing." Then they shouldn't be playing the game until it's fixed if it's that common of an occurrence for them. I've said from the beginning, they needed to differentiate between people pressing "leave match" and people actually losing Internet, but nooooo, let's make it ambiguous and complicated for everyone.
The day pinhead released I crashed my first game. Got like a 2 min ban. Next game it crashed again. So I played something else until they fixed it. Not that hard.
-
Nurse is slower. She has to use her power to catch survivors. Her power is better than pinheads, hands down. Even if you miss a blink your usually closer to the target than pinhead. If you land your blink that's a hit. If you land chains you still have to catch them. Id say they are similar.
-
Some survivors grab the box and simply don't solve it. They hold onto it to try to deny him his chain hunt. Though this usually means 1 survivor isn't able to repair gens due to chains. If it's an indoor map this is a very bad idea. On the silent hill map someone tried to hold onto the box and I snuck up on them twice. Out door maps however you'll see him coming. His chain hunt is the one thing he's got going for him. His regular chains only work at pallet loops and sometimes the survivors can dodge them. Far away the chains are useless. By the time they break you still won't catch up to them and if you miss they get further distance on you. Even if your chained you can still drop pallets or vault them.
-
I had someone DC because I baited a pick up, turned around and knocked the flashlight out of their hands with franklins. They ran to a dead end and I got a 2nd hit in. They DCed as I hooked the first person.

Yeah that would be true, if gen speeds were not fine. Which they are.
Because if gen speed was the issue, you'd see a lot of high mobility killers win. Instead you have unskilled/camping/tunneling killers bring those perks and still lose.
Try playing trapper without gen slow down perks and tell me gens speeds are fine. This is why I think gens need to be adjusted depending on the killer being used. Longer gen times on a M1 killer with no mobility would be welcomed. On a blight/spirit/nurse it would be overkill.

I'd LOVE for them to buff killers. But the entire game balance is completely borked and I 100% think there isn't much they can do about it at this point. Some killers would need entire reworks to be good. Clown, Trapper, Legion, Nemesis.
Other killers are probably just a few stray buffs away from being much better overall killers. The problem is, and ALWAYS has been, we have people balancing this game, who are not good at the game. Devs being BAD at the game makes it impossible to balance said game. They do not listen to PTB testing, they do not listen to good players about things.
It's hard enough to balance a game thats 4v1, especially when the variable skill of the 4 effects the game more than the variable balance of the 1. I don't have an answer for you, because what you say is correct, weaker killers need to be buffed. I just know they have no idea how to do so without absolutely ruining the killer in question. (Look at Freddys journey over this game)

When was the last time a window or pallet helped you against a competent Nurse?
as for the map thing, a good Nurse withs PC that can actually run the game without random freezes (unlike me because i’m broke) will not care about the map, i will admit though that Lerys is pretty bad for Nurse in general, just not for the very good ones
Any indoor map is bad for nurse. Lerys, The Game, Hawkins(though that's going away). Any indoor area is bad for her. The school on bedham, the houses on haddiesfiled, anything that blocks line of sight can be used to trick her. Her blinks get caught on things or when you land a blink your melee locks onto a wall. Even silent hill map is bad for her. Maps with 2 floors can be used against her. If your on the 2nd floor and you see her charge a long blink run towards her. Odds are she'll go through the floor.

Do you honestly think killers would no longer stack slow down perks if gen speed was nerfed?
LOL
If gens speeds were adjusted so ALL killers stand a fair chance then the devs could rework gen slow down perks and we wouldnt have an issue. There are plenty of perks I would like to use but no matter what, 1-2 slots have to be reserved for gen slow downs or else I don't stand a chance of getting at least 2k unless Im nurse.

Yeah and so does mine.
Ruin/Undying is a combo I see in literally almost all killers. Kinda hard to appreciate any "uniqueness" a killer can have when they use the same build over and over. There is a phrase to describe them: One trick Pony.
I personally have never used that combo, b/c I find it boring playing as survivor. No killer should feel like that, and if that is the only build that makes Pinhead strong, then you need to re-evaluate your definition of a strong killer is. Because having Ruin/Undying in your everyday build should not be it.
Then the devs need to address the issue with the survivors rushing gens. Theres a reason killers have to use slow down perks at high mmr. Also survivors use the same 6 perks every game. Its not just killers that run the same build over and over. The difference is they dont need 2nd chance perks because they out number the killer. They can run meme builds and still escape. Killer has less room for experimenting.

Who would've thought practicing the killer and taking the time to play them would give you better results instead of just calling them trash
Who would have thought playing as killer would also teach you how to play against them. Instead of going to the forums and saying "spirit is op and unfun. Plz nerf!"

Franklins+hoarder.
-
At first i thought he was weak. Then i learned how to use his chains and unlocked perks to keep the chain hunt active. Now i like him.

I can't tell if sbmm is working for me or not. I've played all day sat and sun. Haven't played in awhile but I'm actually enjoying playing as Pinhead. Some matches I was doing great. Others I felt like there was nothing I could do. Very few matches felt genuine. I got some friends that stopped playing the game because they say all they face now are sweat lords.
-
I see no harm in telling us "After" a match is over. If I get my ass handed to me and I find out it was a swf. I wouldn't feel so bad. Though if they were to do that then killers would have a way of actually tracking how many times we run into a swf. Then all those counter arguments about "Not everyone is in a swf" would be proven false or true.

Do you think that the builds will change just because it's a different killer? That build is all I literally see.
I get it. Players like STRONG things on both sides. Doesn't make them any less boring, that goes for both sides.
When have you seen someone use hoarder before pinhead came out? Ruin+undying=definitely, franklins=only if the survivors had keys. Even if all you see are the same perks the killer is different. ALL killers are unique unlike survivors who all function the same. My point still remains. If you want to face different killers then let the devs buff other killers. What I've noticed from decades of playing games is everyone likes to win and most will use the best tools at their disposal. When word gets around "this is the best <x>" a lot of people will use it. Then the devs nerf it and people then go to the next best thing. The cycle repeats. Instead of nerfing strong killers+combinations ask them to buff other perks and killers so we have more variety.

Nurse. Hands down. She's got knowledge , and she killed an entire hospital when she snapped without the entities powers to blink. With that she could kill unfathomably quickly.
Doctor is deranged, and his shock can hurt, but nurse can just ######### dodge that. Blinks op.
The Nurse also isn't touching the ground. Unless Doc performs a mori I don't think he can shock her.

I was looking forward to him, but I have to say, Solo queue against him is a miserable experience. I don't D/C, but I do fight the urge to.
I think Pinhead illustrates just what an advantage SWF has over Solo survivors and Killers alike. It's super frustrating for Solos because for one, it's as if 90% of them are allergic to the puzzle box. i can't rely on anyone to actually solve it before it screws us over. Yesterday (can't stomach playing today), I was the only one doing the box. At one point, 3/4 survivors were injured and the chain hunt was looming near. I run injured to unhook someone. The healthy Quentin who has never been hooked, who is working on the generator closest to the box, doesn't bloody bother to even try to solve it. I had to run injured across the map to get the thing, chain hunt begins- and of course Pinhead teleports to me and I get downed.
I honestly just killed myself on the hook. What is the point in even trying? Then I spectated and surprise! They're immersed in the Chain Hunt and it's chaos.
It sounds like your issue is with bad randoms and not pinhead himself.
-
I turned on the game and got like 370k bloodpoints. Not great compared to the effort required but it's a reward where there was once nothing.
-
The MMR feels very hit or miss. I only played one game after the rank reset and I was pinhead. I had been playing him all day yesterday so the system had to get some data on my performance. The first match after the rank reset I destroyed those survivors. They only completed 1 gen. I felt MMR broke that one match.

I don't use the range add-ons, I use the ones to increase the time to solve, adds up to almost 15 seconds
That works too. If you stop them from solving the box that's the focus. If you can keep the chain hunt going that is a lot of pressure on the survivors. It buys you a lot of time to chase them down without 3 gens popping at once.

Run hoarder+franklins and range add ons for his chains. When someone picks up the box you'll get a notification. If they try to solve it interrupt them with the chains. Then hunt them down. One hit will force them to drop the box. Pick it up and the chain hunt slows down the gens.
