  • Revealing this information will show how broken their MM is. Therefore BHVR won't reveal it. If we can prove something is broken will ask them to fix it. If we can't prove it they can deny there's a problem. So they don't have to fix it.

  • The problem with being able to see our own MMR is we can then tell how bad the MM is working.

  • If survivors fall for it then it's their own damn fault. I find basement bubba boring but that's just my opinion. Play how you want.

Well, I have checked this forum a lot, and those threads exist (I can't deny that) but it is WAY more common to say threads saying X killer is weak (and the killer doesn't even have 1 day from being released)

Just look at what happend to trickster, went from a normal/trash killer to a annoying no pressure killer that downs u in 10 seconds

True. I think the prime example is Freddy. At release survivors said he was OP and killers said he was weak. The devs listened to the majority(survivors) and nerfed him. He was the weakest killer in the game until the release of Legion. Took them like 2 years to give him a rework.

  • I don't have the perks unlocked for Pinhead but my go to build would be

Hoarder, franklins, ruin+undying. Hoarder to see when someone picks up the box. Franklins to get them to drop it. Ruin for gen regression during a chain hunt and undying to try to give it a chance at staying active.

I hear some precious players went running to the sick bucket after viewing Pinhead's mori animation.

This isn't llamas and break-dancing. This is a horror game 😁 and I don't care if people say otherwise.

I personally think the mori is fantastic. Very authentic. The best we've had. Even beats Ghostface's.

    Never change it.

    @Plu said:

Huh? His mori is pretty tame imo.

    Still love it tho.

If this was the hellraiser movie. Once all those chains get into someone pinhead would have pulled them apart. Like there's pieces of them all over. If you watch any of the movies that's half of what pinhead does with those chains. Id post a youtube link but a mod might take it down. That's how graphic some of those movies were and it came out in 1984.

Very possible the guy was playing a killer he hasnt played that much

Or the MM said "screw it" and tossed them the first available killer.

I... think I don't understand your answer. I literally said that:

    • Pinhead is weak and they don't need to nerf him or Lament Configuration
    • Hoarder is strong with Pinhead and it's great

I understood your answer I just phrased mine poorly. I should have put another space in my response. After I said "Did anyone use hoarder before pinhead?" I should have made a separate paragraph. Everything after that was meant to be addressed to the community.

  • I want you to remember this. The next time a strong killer build comes out don't scream for nerfs. Soon Pinhead with hoarder+franklins+ruin+undying will become a thing. If you beg the devs to nerf that then you will go back to facing blights+spirits with ruin+undying+tinkerer.

I'm just pointing out if you let killers have nice things. You may not run into the same 3 killers over and over. Instead of nerfing the current meta give us more options. That way every one won't be using the same build.

  • @PIP330 said:

It's normal, when a killer gets released people just scream "weak" cause they didn't get a 4k in their first game

It's also the opposite. Survivor's scream a killer is OP because they don't want to admit they got out played.

  • @Nomadd said:

Geez Pinhead is weak enough, they seriously don't need to nerf him further. Hoarder is one of the ways to make Pinhead at least a bit usable.

Seriously was anyone using hoarder before pinhead? This is shaking things up. Would people rather go back to facing spirit, nurse, blight with ruin+undying+tinkerer?

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

It’s nice that hoarder might actually get used now.

I hope once this combo catches on they don't nerf it. Killer's can't have anything nice. I literally unlocked twins because I like playing as Pinhead. If they nerf it I will be upset. Though I didn't pay them real money for the twins. I used shards. They aren't worth dollars.

  • I too used to not run noed but lately. Survivors are just too cocky when all the gens are done. It's turned a 1k into a 3k a few times. The good groups will find it once they learn you have it. If NOED went off it's because they rushed gens. Don't ever let survivor's tell you how to play killer.

  • I find his power is only good at close to medium range. Trying to force a slow vault or get a hit in at a pallet loop. I feel his real power is the chain hunt. Lately I've been running franklins and focusing on the person grabbing the box. Been running range add ons to try to interrupt them when they are solving it.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Yeah there's a visual bug with PH's Punishment of the Damned right now

He puts his sword down visually much slower (it doesn't affect the actual timing, it's purely cosmetic)

Until it gets fixed, a workaround is just listen for the sound of the blade hitting the floor, since that is accurate. It's just the sword animation that's bugged

    ty

  • Another useless perk is Furtive Chase. What is the poitn of a smaller terror radius DURING a chase? They already know your chasing them. Had this done the exact opposite, this perk might be useful.

  • Without chain hunt this killer has zero map pressure. Survivors can also take the box to a position that is advantageous to them. His passive is the one good thing he has going for him and it's in the survivor's control.

    @Wiitab360 said:

But the survivors can always see the aura, Pinhead has to find it on his own like you would with the hatch.

It is very lucky if Pinhead finds the box himself. Lately I've been equipping range add ons and trying to interrupt the person solving the box. The chain hunt is my top priority when there are still gens to be fixed.

  • Billy was close then the devs had to give him a CD -.-

  • The thing I hate about teachables is every time you unlock one that only increases the grind. I got every killer perk unlocked and when I prestige someone it takes me forever to get the perks that I want. I remember when I first P3ed my trapper I had to get to like lvl 80 to get ruin 1 and this was years ago. More teachables have become available since then.

  • There is nothing one side can have that the other won't say is "unfun, toxic, OP".

  • I think grades just reflect time played during the month. Your SSBMM is hidden and can't see it. At least I think that's how it's suppose to go. Personally I don't think it does anything.

  • I've been averaging 28-40k bp with pinhead every match and I don't have BBQ unlocked for him. I thought it was me or someone bringing a bps or gateau.

  • This is one of the pros of cross platform. If 3 people have a globe over their head and 1 doesn't then I know it's not a 4 man swf. As for the ability to disable fighting groups. As others have said if that was an option no killer would ever face a swf. That would be like survivors being able to remove the chance for them facing a spirit.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2487427#Comment_2487427

OR Killers might realize that they MAYBE (yes, this is a sarcasm-maybe) make a few mistakes and should not blame all their losses on SWF.

    But what do I know...

Against a competent swf(not even sweat lvl swf just a decent swf) a killer can make zero mistakes and still get their ass's handed to them.

  • @Mr_K said:

I would want the chain hunt not to end until it's solved but can also see how that can be used by trolls.

There needs to be an exponential penalty to holding onto the cube.

    @TeabaggingGhostface said:

Make the box holder incapacitated, but make solving the box unaffected by incapacitated

I made a thread a while ago about this idea. Make it so if you hold the box for X amount of time, instead of oblivious, you get exposed.

  • I've only been waiting 3-5 mins for a match as killer. I've been playing after dinner so that's usually the busiest time.

  • I'm not sure what I would do but I can tell you what survivor mains will do if this were to happen. Ask for more nerfs to the rest of the killers. They're never satisfied.

  • I agree in a perfect game we shouldn't have to use the current meta to stand a chance. If I have to play a specific way instead of what I like, I'm no longer having fun and tend to play something else. There are characters that I enjoy playing as but said characters often get destroyed by the top tier ones. In Overwatch for example I love playing as Sombra but she is terrible without a coordinated team working together. In DBD I love playing trapper, gf and PH. Though when I start facing all red swfs I switch to my trusty Nurse so I at least feel like a threat again.

  • There is something you can do about Steve. Play as killer. Punish the Steve for all his crimes against you. Punish ALL the Steve's. Strike them down with all your hate and your journey to the dark side will be complete. Join ussssssssssssssssssss!

  • That's any game with a multiplayer. After dinner going into midnight, the try hards come out. Morning or afternoon there's more players that just wanna chill and have fun.

  • I expect login rewards. Maybe a cool skin but its only obtainable with real money. Thats all i expect.

Oh and a game breaking bug at launch that adds a week for the event to say "were sry"

  • @konchok said:

If I hold the box, will you come?

I will but silently. Were not allowed yo voice our feelings out-loud anymore :P

  • @th3 said:

Killer can just cheese the exposed status effect if they find the person with the box.

    Nah.

Either you pick the box up and solve it or you hold onto it and get exposed. I'm not saying picking up the box gives expose. I'm talking like holding onto it for like 20-30 secs gives expose. There is no cheesing the expose effect because the survivor can choose. Holding the box so you can deny a killer his power shouldn't be a thing. There needs to be an actual draw back and oblivious is not good enough.

Because then you'd just be able to walk right on over to it every time and get a free chain hunt.

This. The chain hunt is amazing and if you can keep that up it's a lot of gen pressure. One match I happen to come across it at the start. It helped a lot.

  • A new chapter comes out and something totally unrelated breaks? It's sad that this happens so often in this game that it's become the norm.

  • He's fun but weak.

    • Chains are too punishing to miss and not too rewarding when landed.
    • He need's to stop breaking his own chains.
    • The RNG needs to stop spawning chains behind walls or obstacles.
    • There needs to be a greater punishment for holding the box hostage.
    • The ultra rare add on that makes it so the box is unseen within 16 meters is amazing. Personally I think this should be base kit but that could just be my opinion since I'm seeing survivors hold onto the box so only they get hit by chain hunt.
  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's a problem with killer balance that awful matchmaking has masked for years. Four meta survivors are not losing to an equally skilled low tier killer on most maps if they play well. It's not happening unless they make huge mistakes.

The best Clown/Trapper/Legion/Pig/Myers/Ghostface/etc is walking away with a 2k at most against 4 optimal survivors.

Perks and natural camouflage aside, all survivors are created equal. They literally all do the same thing.

    Killers do not :(

Never heard of this guy before but someone recommended his video. I think he might be onto something. He brings range add ons and most of the match he is focusing on harassing the person trying to solve the box. His goal is to launch a chain to interrupt the person solving the box. Then once interrupted he chases them down to keep the chain hunt going. If he can keep the hunt going it actually applies a lot of pressure.

  • I don't know how licensing works but they've grabbed more than just a killer's appearance before. Mikey has his theme music. I wonder if they had to pay extra to use that? I would have loved The Pig to play the intense building SAW music when the timer for the RBT was counting down.

    The Pinhead Dream Patch:

    • Iridescent Box Add-On becomes base kit.
    • Chains require an additional .50 seconds each to break.
    • Number of chains spawned on successfully hit survivor increases by +1 per 10M the hook travels.
    • Pinhead no longer breaks his own chains.
    • Chains can no longer spawn in too close to walls/objects that would cause them to instantly break. They will now spawn much closer to the survivor model instead to secure hits.
    • Reduced effectiveness of environmental chain break by 75%.
    • Survivors that break the chains of other survivors have new chains spawn and target them instead.

    Start there.

All of these sound like good ideas. My issue with Pinhead is missing a chain feels like a part of my soul was removed. I wouldn't mind making the portal marker travel faster. I find the less time I'm using his power the better.

I've also had some issues teleporting to someone holding the box. Often I end up on the other side of a wall or they are on a hill and the ramp to get up there is on the opposite side of where I am.

I hope so. Like I dont wanna call him OP I'm sure there's an easy play around but for my first time it was just massively too much to deal with.

I've played like 10 matches as him. Not a final verdict but I can say he is not OP. His passive is pretty nice but the chains he himself shoots are easy to dodge, easily broken, don't feel like they do much and missing is very punishing for him.

  • I just used it as pinhead and it works for me. Kicked a gen, a survivor screamed, I one shoted them.

  • You just need someone to constantly solve the box to remove the chain hunt. Unless he's running an ultra rare add on, you can see it once it's activated. He can't. The chains he shoots himself, unless the portal is right on top of you there are pretty easy to dodge. Changing directions can really mess with pinhead and missing a chain is really punishing.

    @UnluckyDucky said:

And when I say we were constantly dealing with chains--I mean within FIVE SECONDS of the match start, ALL of us were getting hooked with chains. Like I didn't even see the killer for the first 2 min of the game, but I was still constantly harassed by his chains. Like is this normal? It seems a little unfair that a killer doesn't even have to see the survivors and they get map-wide harassment instantly at the start of the game on ALL survivors?

As for the first 5 secs we all got chained. Did pinhead find the box? I had that happen at the start of a match and it was amazing. Pure luck and won;t happen often

  • When lvling pinhead I got bamboozle early. I always consider that a great perk on a M1 killer.

  • I feel the box mechanic is really good. It can be very harassing if they don't find it. His chains on the other hands......I dunno. They feel way to punishing if you miss. They break pretty easily. I've been using them at pallet loops or vaults to try to slow them down. If they are far away I don't bother with chains. If I miss they just run farther.

  • I've only played like 7 games with him. Got him to 40. I've been using

    • corrupt intervention cause it's my only slow down perk.
    • Bamboozle to help with chases
    • Scourge hooks to help slow things down
    • Deathbound to try to punish the person healing the hooked person. I switched this out for hex plaything because I find most people just stay together and duo a gen.

There's certainly better perks, I'm sure. I just don't have them unlocked yet.

The common hack accusations I get are for finding people who are hiding. They usually cannot believe that BBQ and game sense could reveal them.

Same. Ive been called a hacker for using bbq, nc or even whispers.

  • The sad truth is even if someone from bhvr see's this thread. They won't do anything.

  • @DelsKibara said:

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha,

I have not had faith in the video game industry for years.

    Let alone BHVR.

Fun fact: It could get worse, much worse. DBD as it is is a lot better than a various number of video game franchises out there. You could have a shitshow like Hitman 3, where most missions feels like filler and the story ended abruptly with no satisfactory payoff. And the game is a buggy awful mess, much more than DBD is.

Just learn to curb your expectations and not get too excited for anything. Things can always get worse. It's just a matter of finding the fun in it.

Same. I kind of miss the days before internet. They had to make sure the game worked before it shipped out because there was no way to fix it.

I think angryjoe said it best. "I dont like this it'll get better attitude developers are adopting"

  • Yes, it certainly is. The issue is we have a lot of players who don't play killer at all who think the game is perfectly balanced.

  • His power feels too punishing if you miss. Even then if you use it from far away or even medium distance your not catching them by the time they break. He's the only killer that might actually punish you for using his power. There are times when I just don't use it because id rather close the distance than risk them getting further from me. Id like to practice with him more but the game keeps crashing -.-

The box however I love that mechanic.
