We could give him a chain hunt :P
I could totally picture him having a drink with pinhead and saying "Can you teach me how you do that?"
-
They only nerfed him to please survivors, which are the majority. No different than when they gave Billys chainsaw a cd. No reason for it other than to make their player basis stick around longer to buy more cosmetics.

From what i understood, it's that, when a boon totem get blessed that totem have all the boon totem (that the survivor equipped) on that totem, and then we get into speculation territory, maybe when they get cleansed it's a bye bye all boon totem, or just the boon totem that one survivor used, or something else, we still can't be sure.
I'm pretty sure a mod clarified that if a killer finds+cleanses a boon totem, it turns back into a dull totem.

It's gonna be just one with all of the effect of the other boom totem, it means that there can be only one boon totem on the map.
But didn't the update also say they will have cumulative effects? It sounds like they mean if they bring 4 of the same boon the affect will stack. The affect could be so small it won't even be noticed but it still gives me cause to worry. It's not the first time they broke their own game and it won't be the last.

"First, the hatch will no longer spawn if there’s more than one Survivors in the trial."
Firstly, why would the last survivor even 99 the hatch.
Secondly, who cares? if there's only one survivor left then clearly you've already won, so what does it matter if the last one gets out by hatch? just means you get to move on quicker
Survivors totally will 99 the hatch just so they can teabag before they leave. They do it now with the exit gates. There's absolutely no reason to do it other than to be a dick. Hence why the progress should reset so it cannot be done.

The one thing Im afraid the most is Survivors bring in 5 Boon and my Noed doesnt have a place to use.
I wonder if boon perks will have their own totems? For that very reason. I can picture survivors in the group chat saying "Everyone bring a boon perk so we don't have to cleanse totems for fear of noed."

Depends on what Boon Totems effects are, we still don't know what they do exactly.
The problem I find with boon totems, besides giving killer more crap to do when they are already pressed for time, is how strong they can be in mass. The devs clearly don't think all 4 survivors will bring the same OP perks each match. If a boon perk is even remotely strong than 4 of them will be unfair.
-
I personally think SBMM functions the same as the old MM. It "tries" to find someone of similar rank but as soon as it can't, it throws out fairness and just grabs the first people available.
-
The killer roster reminds me of the days when I played the MMO, Final Fantasy 11. You had like 25 classes but when it came to end game, it boiled down to like 6. You had a ton of classes that "could" do something but they couldn't hold a candle to the one class that was "made" to do that. In Final Fantasy 14, their 2nd MMO, ALL classes are viable at end game. Some are clearly better than others but they can all get the job done. Sadly DBD can't do that with their killers.
-
I think the mods mentioned when you play a killer for the first time, it puts you in the average category. You may get decent survivors and get crushed because your learning someone new. After a few matches when the sbmm has more data on your performance, it's "suppose" to put you against survivors closer to your skill.
Again, this is what it's suppose to do. I personally think it doesn't do a damn thing. I think the MM favors speed over fairness. Specifically the majority's.
-
Why are survivor's always demanding the killer goes easy on them if one of their own screws them over and quits?

I doubt they're buying it. They would be far more likely to pirate it or just use family sharing on steam.
Can't they ban their IP so they have to buy a new PC to play the game again? I think I've heard of some games doing that when they encounter hackers.

@indieeden7 said:
Pretty sure that's why the PTB exists. If I recall correctly, Ash didn't have a PTB, and therefore the devs didn't receive feedback regarding the first iteration of MoM.
If he didn't have a PTB we had a lot of killer mains saying that will break the game. I remember TydeTyme, Tr3 and I think even Otz saying this is a bad idea.

How would that make sense? OP is saying that just because a killer camps/tunnels doesn't make them a "baby killer".
okay, I miss understood the meaning of =/=. I thought that was a smiley face.

I seriously want a fokelore type killer. It could be a wendigo, the babayaga, etc. I also think a death metal killer would be cool, think trickster but scary. And last but not least "disco zombie" from the plants vs. zombies series. That guy is just hilarious.
I kinda want to see a Jersey Devil killer :P

This post smells like a salty survivor main trying to make their opinion sound valid by opening with "from a killer main.

Does it matter? It doesn't matter at all if their account gets banned, 99% of the time they're a throwaway anyway. What matters is they haven't improved detection to stop these blatant hacks getting through in the first place.
If anything bhvr probably enjoys hackers. If they catch you, they ban you, they buy the game again. That's more money for bhvr.
There's also the toxic community. I don't need to look at any charts to tell you there's a ton of false reports. I get accused of wall hacking almost every 5 matches. There's so many people who don't understand what they just saw and assume it's a hack. It's not my fault they don't know how bbq or NC works. With all these false reports it's pretty difficult to see a genuine one.

I find the box by accident. Often I see electricity in the corner of my eye or I happen to run over top of it.
-
The devs don't often nerf both sides simultaneously. In fact they often nerf one side and never touch it's counterpart. /coughkeyscough
-
They have always been toxic >.>
-
I never considered trapper bottom of the list. He's down there but I've seen some trappers destroy once they're setup.
-
I have a fear that 1 of 2 things will happen. Both are not ideal.
- Boon perks are good. All 4 survivors bring the best boon perk there is(which they always do). This breaks the game.
- Boon perks are weak. Making them not worth even bringing. This option being the lesser of two evils.
Either way I feel the killer has enough on their plate. Survivor needs more objectives and killer needs less. Killer is already stressed for time that gen slow down perks are damn near mandatory against decent survivors. Not sweat lvl, just decent.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I am on the opposite side, I think they are too weak. Simply because no Perk since Dead Hard was actually be able to become Meta (aside from MoM, but this was a Cashgrab). So I doubt that Boon-Perks will be good, HOWEVER, they have to be good, since they are tied to Totems. But then again, not every Hex is good and on top of that, they have to consider that 4 Survivors can have a Boon-Perk, so it will probably be weak by default.
So for me, I like that it is a new Mechanic, but I dont think it will be more than "Ok, three new Perks for your main Survivor which you will not use anyway"...
Besides my concern as a killer main, I'm also worried about boon totems being too powerful. If 1 boon perk is good then there's the potential(and very very likely scenario) that each survivor will bring one. Making it 4 boon totems. Either the boon perks will be strong and broken or they will be weak and not worth bringing. Devs very rarely hit the sweet spot of good enough to want to use it but weak enough that it doesn't break the game.

Question. Where can I find these listed changes people keep talking about?
-
If BHVR wants to make more killers viable then they need to stop balancing around new ranks and stop listening to bias survivor mains who scream "Killer is OP, PLZ NERF!". If people are losing to a particular killer, 98% of the time that killer isn't broken. You just suck. They need to put their foot down and tell people to git gud.
-
As killer, yes. I feel if I want to stand a chance against survivor's that aren't potatoes then I need to bring at least 1 slow down perk.
As survivor I feel I need an exhaustion perk and a means to heal myself. That's just me though. I've seen survivors who are so good at looping/routing that they don't need an exhaustion perk. I'm not that good at routing so I feel I need something to extend the chase.

Hey, I'm all for it. Throw in Whispers or Spies from the Shadow to boot.
Id be done for that. I love Whispers. I only run BBQ for bp bonus.

If you delete kindred and make it basekit. I want bbq to be basekit as compensation :P

I think my mmr is already to high i feel out classed 80% of the time plus I've heard there is only about a 200 difference between your best and since mmr is probably still wacked and not accurate yet(if ever). This is all my opinion though.
It doesn't factor in playtime, perks, add ons, and more importantly. If the other team is in a swf or not.

Don't you love trying to play a new killer and the survivors understand them better than you. I also tried oni for the first time and got a bunch of survivors that I would of struggled against with a killer I knew well.
I think the SBMM puts you in the global average when you play a killer it doesn't have enough data on. Meaning the first time you use a new killer it has nothing to go on. So it puts you in the average hoping that's close enough.

Nurse. She's still strong but she's too frustrating to play now. I only play her for dailies or if I got crushed by a swf.
- Bugs that were introduced almost 2 years ago and they still haven't patched them. Nor even acknowledged there's a problem
- Add ons are crap
- Useless CD
- Constantly getting stuck on debris when blinking or my M1 is locking onto objects

Thrilling Tremors is budget BBQ that's mainly for information and rarely blocks crucial gens. This is an actual slowdown perk.
Mechanically similar with entity blocking but their uses would be the exact opposite
Budget BBQ without the bp bonus.
-
I'm not sure how I feel about it. On brand new killers I feel it doesn't even factor in that. I get matches against sweat squads where I barely got 1k. On killers I play a lot and it has data for my rating it's the same as before sbmm. If I prestige a killer I use frequently it till puts me against high mmr. I have 3 friends that uninstalled the game since sbmm was introduced.
-
People will [bad word] on you no matter how you play. Ignore their complaints. They didn't pay for your copy of the game. They have no right to tell you where your money takes you.

The overheat mechanic might no affect you if you only go for backrevs and use the saw for mobility.
However,if you actually want to mindgame with your it and curve around loops, then you'll definetely notice how much overheat affects you.
His rework just made him less fun to play
Worst part is when they announced they were reworking Billy, no one asked for it. Seriously nobody on the forums was screaming "Billy OP, Plz Nerf!". Billy was one of the more balanced killers at the time. What gave BHVR the idea to change him?

Sure it has undying got nerfed decisive strike got nerfed ruin got nerfed borrowed time got buffed...just depends on enough people complaining with the "data"
I mean even if they have the data that shows something is clearly broken, they may or may not take action. Undying was nerfed in 3 months yet they took their sweet time fixing DS. Just because they have the data doesn't mean they will actual do anything with it.
-
Even if they have the data that hasn't prompted them to fix anything before.
-
Your probably getting face camped/tunneled as I'm typing this.
-
They probably brought it back to try to keep all the resident evil players to stay. Nemesis brought a chunk of people to this game and lets face it. It has horrible retention rates.
-
If you want to make the game scary. Add loot boxes. That'll make a lot of players scared.
-
I think as killer you are put under more pressure to perform well. As a result killer players tend to learn how to improve quickly. As survivor because it's 4v1 you can win a match without ever being found. If your in a swf and there's that 1 person who is a god looper then you don't need to learn how to loop, mind game, juke. You can just hold M1 and progress. As killer because you are by yourself there is no one to hold your hand. If you succeed or fail it's all on you(and the quality of the survivors your facing, and the map, and rng) :P
-
I got a friend who when he wants to depip he plays trapper. He even changes his name to "we trap da basement". Problem is once he gets someone in the basement and rigs the place. He still ends up getting a 4k because of over altruism.
-
Since the introduction of SBMM. My wait is anywhere from 2-5 minutes. I tend to watch youtube while I wait.
-
I run
- WGLF for farming
- BT to ensure safe rescues
- We'll Make It for faster healing
- An exhaustion perk for surviving.
- A medkit to heal myself.
-
I have a terrible feeling BHVR is going to go EA on us and say something like "Looking at the data we've discovered our player basis want loot boxes!!!!"

old ruin was almost worthless against good survivors, and completely destroyed lower ranks. new ruin now works on how much pressure you bring.
Old ruin kept new survivors in the new ranks. Before that update I never ran into a red survivor that couldn't loop. Since they nerfed that perk the amount of newbs in top tier went up by a lot.
