I've been taking a break lately. The reduced map pool has made things really awkward lol
Yeah, I tried playing again. I've been sent to sheltered woods, silent hill and badham A LOT lately.

He's the only killer that makes me not want to use his power. If I miss a chain it's as punishing as messing up a blink as nurse. Only it's worse because the survivor gets even more distance on you. Even if you hit them the chains are easily broken and it doesn't feel like it did much. Can't make a full opinion on what he needs because the game keeps crashing when I try to play him. So I just gave up.
-
It's the day of a chapter release. This usually happens.

Its annoying, i know. The sad thing is that it‘s not even that surprising, but dear lord I would have hoped that they would have fixed this until now.
But nevertheless, i do have to say that pinhead himself is amazing in my opinion. Just a shame they had to yet again release him along with such ridiculous issues.
Same. We keep hoping an update won't screw things up and we keep getting disappointed :(
I played 2 games. First crash was steam resetting. The 2nd was dbd itself crashing. I just gave up and cooked dinner.

That is a great way of putting it. Hopefully it is just a get good issue and as I miss less, I feel the tempo better.
It's also messing with my muscle memory as a Nurse player. Im used to putting the marker on the target. As pinhead I find I want it to be a little bit behind them so I have a slight amount of time to aim.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
He is really the only killer where I kind of question why I should even be using his powers. It feels slower than just playing m1 unless they want to camp a pallet. And if the survivor is smart, they will just teleport you to a strong area of the map. And if they aren't confident, they can just solve while you hook someone. He is EXTREMELY meh.
The chains feel like it's too punishing if you miss and too little reward if you connect. Your still a pretty good distance away from them. The box mechanic however I really enjoy.
-
I didn't get to play much but I was kind of enjoying scourge hooks with death bound. Don't think it would be meta though.
-
I stopped playing after 2 games. First time steam reset because it's Tuesday, forgivable. The 2nd time I had 2 people dead and 1 on a hook. As I was breaking a pallet the game froze and said "Disconnected from host". Don't have any screen shots sadly.

You are long enough on the forums and therefore most likely long enough playing the game to know that this is most likely (like 99,99%) a Bug. And to not have to deal with this Bug, avoid playing Dream Pallets and you are fine until they fix it.
I've mentioned numerous times I lost faith in BHVR after patch 1.9.2 The worst part was that wasn't a bug, it was intended. The makers of the game thought that horrible idea was a QoL change. So Yes, I have to ask if this is a bug because I dont trust BHVR to know what they're doing.

I want you to tell me how it is working as intended. Right now.
Ive had the game for 4 years now. In the past there have been times when a killer was experiencing a bug and it later became a thing. Until people complained about it and the devs reverted it. Nurse use to be fatigued even after hitting someone. You could blink, hit someone, wipe the blood, then look at the floor. That was a thing until people complained and the devs fixed it.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
It is a Bug that will be fixed. Like, you can really overreact on some things in this game.
I wasn't freaking out, I was asking a question. I dont have all the information so I went to the forums and asked for advice. That is what its for isnt it?
@TAG said:
C'mon, now. It should be painfully obvious that this is a bug.

No! It's a shadownerf to Freddy, because BHVR hate killers!
/s
It's not the first time a "bug" appeared on a killer and later the devs said "it's working as intended".
-
I only played one game as pinhead so far. Steam reset and hit me with a 2 min penalty. My aim could be crap but the survivors had zero issue dodging my chains. It's so punishing to miss and yet the reward is slim at best. At least as nurse if I screw up a blink I'm usually closer to my target.
-
My only issue with indoor maps is the lack of grass. There aren't many good places to plant my traps. In Hawkins there is quite a few debris lying around. With a tar bottle traps are pretty difficult to spot on those. Lerys on the other hand is just terrible for trapper. There's no hiding traps on that map.

Old undying would have forced survivors to learn totem locations
and old ruin would have forced survivors to learn to hit great skill checks. Yet another example of lowering the bar.

Must of been before the console launch of the game. I started playing towards the end of the summer in 2017.
They may have changed it but it doesn't mean they shouldn't consider changing it again.
I'm not saying "They changed it once, they shouldn't touch it ever again!". If that were the case DS wouldn't have been fixed. It took several changes to get it to what it is now.
I'm just saying it used to be worse.
-
@CashelP14 said:
I hate the argument "just do bones". It isn't that simple.
If someone is getting face camped by a Bubba, your told to rush gens. So how can you avoid noed if your rushing gens?
If your team is getting destroyed and your the only one doing gens then when do you have time to cleanse totems?
The only time this argument of "just do bones" actually means something is when a good team is destroying a killer. They should cleanse the totems before the end of the match, rather than be dumb.
NOED can be annoying but I think it has it's place in the game. I don't think it needs to give both a speed boost and an instadown but that's just my opinion.
Long ago it didn't use to be a hex. It was like a 2 min duration thing that activated once the final gen was complete. They changed it because for those 2 mins the killer was unstoppable and there wasn't anything the survivors could do to prevent it.

Aye, I'd say that's 100% most of these responses.
I was expecting something a bit 'different' but all I got was the same meal with a different seasoning. And it all tasted horrid.
So I not just understand why NOED is so widely hated, but also why most survivor mains are typically entitled.
If you're annoyed by a perk so damn much, then just use a perk to counter it. I'm not sure what's so wrong with that. It's not like it's the first time you've used something to [bup] killers specifically.
There's plenty of perks that counter it. The devs keep adding more perks designed to help find totems and they still aren't cleansing them. The problem isn't with the game, it's with the community.
-
If this game was CoD, noed is an enemy pave low. Everyone wants it shot down but nobody wants to switch their load out and do it themselves.
-
Id like to add a 2nd stereotype. TTVs are toxic. Not all of them but most of the ones I run into are.
As survivor I hate it when I see a TTV in the lobby because that means the killer is going to try their damnedest. That use to involve an ebony mori back when only 1 hook was needed. They don't do the objective. They dont cleanse totems. They do stuff to piss off the killer because they want to put on a show for their 2 viewers. It's like when you play domination in CoD. TTVs are that one guy who is running around killing people but they're not capturing any points. Their excuse is "Hey, I'm making your job easier by killing the other team" "That's nice but your still not doing the objective"
As a killer they constantly teabag. They bring a flashlight and clicky bait because they want you to chase them. Worse is when you catch them they are the first to rage quit. Then the remaining 3 survivors demand you go easy on them because they had a dc. "No, that wasn't a dc that was a quitter. There's a difference. No mercy!"

I'm not very thrilled about the next chapter. The last thing that actually excited me was the DS rework. Everything after that has been "meh"
-
Then survivors would be tormented all the time. I don't find it difficult to torment a survivor. Just leave a trail when your looping someone.
-
As many have already said. You get absolutely nothing out of this build unless you pressure the gens yourself. Old ruin you didn't have to do anything and it stalled gen progression but that's not the case anymore. You get rewarded for playing well. Unlike some other perks I can name that reward you for playing poorly.
-
If they ever get the rights to Pumpkin Head, they could probably use demo's skeleton for that.
-
@violetcherries said:
Correct.
Blaming poor gameplay on 'gen rush' is a way for killers to shift blame for their own inadequacy onto survivors.
The same way bad survivors use camping/tunneling/small PP builds to shift blame from their own inadequacy onto killers
-
If gen rushing doesn't exist than survivor's have no reason to complain about getting hit by noed because they did NOTHING but gens.

This is for those who say it doesn't give an advantage
The only people who say "it doesn't give an advantage" are the people using it and they don't want the devs to fix it.

I don't get why Pinhead can destroy his own chains. Why is the killer punished for using his power? That's such a flawed design
Kind of like how trapper can step in his own traps.

I'm not a programmer but I find it's easier to tone down something strong than try to bring up something weak. If a killer is strong at release they can always adjust some numbers to make it more balanced. If a killer is weak sometimes adjusting the numbers won't be enough. An entire rework may be needed.
Although one draw back of releasing a new killer strong then nerfing the piss out of them is the suspicion the devs did that on purpose. Remember when old MoM came out? When word got around how broken that perk was EVERYONE bought Ash. Then it took them months to finally nerf it. I can't help but wonder if someone in the meeting said "This perk is broken. What should we do?" "Wait for the sales to die down then fix it"

If you're stomping match with a strong killer that is unfun to play, then what's the point? Just because you lose doesn't mean you don't have fun.
I agree just because you lose doesn't mean you don't have fun. However it's pretty hard to have fun if you don't stand a chance. That's what I'm arguing. Also this game is 1v4. The killer is supposed to be stronger because they are out numbered. 1 survivor is not meant to be able to stand up to any killer.
-
I like lithe but I see 2 problems with it
1: Often I could have used a vault several times before I have to run to another jungle gym. Lithe kind of forces me to use a vault and run to another jungle gym straight away.
2: Could be due to latency or the killer taking priority but I have a terrible habit of getting hit at window vaults no matter what. I've vaulted+lithed, taken 2 steps and I still got hit. It's like the kill cam on CoD. I run into a door way and take 3 steps in the room and die. The kill cam shows me dying as I got to the door way. What happened to those last 3 steps I took? Was it my imagination?
-
@Yatol said:
Killer should always be fun first strong second
Like I said. If the killer is fun but your getting your ass handed to you every match. How is that fun? If you play CoD and spawn in the path of a moving bullet would you call that fun? If gens are popping left+right despite my loadout and the best of my abilities then I am not having fun. I'm just cannon fodder so 4 other people can have fun.
-
If the killer is fun but I'm getting clobbered every match. I'm not having fun. I want to stand a chance.
-
Despite the map being disabled I still have survivors using offerings to try to go there.
-
Killers are not born. They are made.
-
I had a match yesterday where someone brought an offering to the game. We were sent to haddonfield. Not sure if it was better but I still got a 4k because they were making mistakes.

there should never exist a perk that totally stops tunneling
If such a perk were to be created. Then I demand a perk that totally stops gen progression.
As for DS I feel the current version is fine. It was broken for 4 years because people did whatever they wanted right in the killers face for 1 whole minute. Now it only works if the killer is actually tunneling off the hook.

Sometimes it is, though I think it's way more fun to go for the save. So I get it. Plus there's always points
I remember a Trapper Game I had on Haddonfield. Got 3 hooks before end game. 2 were on the same person, and i killed them at the end. So this was a 3-man escape, right? You'd think so. They didn't open the exit gates. I trapped them. Found a survivor, downed them, hooked them in the basement. Went around the map looking for someone else, eventually caught one of them in a trap going for the basement save while I was chasing the other survivor (I left the chase to go back to the hook because it was house of pain, but that person was the obsession, so they probably thought I was still chasing her). I hook THEM in the basement, only for the last survivor to be coming for the save... and step in the last trap I had up there for the 4K. 6 minute end game, they could've left earlier. Hopefully they at least had some fun, maybe a good laugh.
I had a survivor game on the swamp. The killer was a trapper. All randoms. The gates were open(this was before EGC was a thing) 1 person in the basement and everyone else was healthy. I'm standing at the open gate waiting to see what the other 2 are doing. As they proceed to the basement on the boat the trapper finds and chases 1 person. The 3rd survivor then goes for the save but they soon step in a trap. Then the 2nd survivor the trapper was chasing gets downed. He walks back to the 3rd, picks them up and puts them in the basement. Then he picks up the 2nd survivor he downed and puts them in the basement. I left. Then they yell at me for not helping. I told them "You lost the moment you went down there. I know that trick cause I've done it numerous times! You turned a 1k into a 3k. Even if I had helped and rescued the hooked survivor you gave him 2 more hooks. We would have been in a worse position than before"
-
This. Im a trapper main. I learned long ago you can't save them all. If I got someone in the basement and traps setup, I want you to be altruistic. Even if you manage to make a save I WILL get someone to trade places. Maybe even 2 for 1. It's sometimes better to cut your loss's.
-
Not to sound rude but your first mistake was playing by the survivor's rules. To quote an obscure movie
"So long as you play by their rules, you'll never win"

I wonder if the devs will now nerf gen slowdown perks or instead look at the reason WHY killers stack slowdown perks.
They didnt look at why killers run ruin when they nerfed it way back when. I doubt they will look now.

That's every game that has a multiplayer. People notice everyone is running the same thing ever match. Someone complain for nerfs. The devs nerf it. People quickly run to what's next in line. The cycle continues.

Wow, that's awesome. I'm jelly. However, my lack of perks on some survivors makes for some fun bad builds.
Deathslinger is totally my guilty pleasure too I'm bad with ranged in general, but I like playing him.

That's pretty cool. I recently got all my killers up to 40 for teachables,s o I was playing everyone fairly evenly. And interesting...another person that mains just one survivor.

Max 4. I see. Good to know. Thanks. No survivor for you?
2 survivors are P3 but neither of them have all perks. Just the ones I need. David because I love having access to WGLF all the time and Ash because I love the puppet cosmetic :P
-
I own all killers. Use most but I only really specialize in 3. All killers are lvl 40 for their teachables. 4 are P3. Only one of said 4 have all perks. The others just have the perks I like to use on them.
-
Both sides have bugs. However I feel killer's are worse because they tend to be neglected or straight up ignored. Long time ago DS was bugged and it was fixed in a week. Nurse has been buggy since her rework nearly 2 years ago and the devs don't even acknowledge there's a problem.
-
I'll usually toss in devour hope along with my other perks. I don't like to bring it with another hex perk like ruin. Often when they see ruin is on the field they go looking for totems(at least the smart ones do). Devour works for me when they don't know it's there. If it stays up by 3 stacks I can usually protect it. I don't like using TOTH or Undying because I feel like it only hinders you more if it gets cleansed. Like doubling down.
As trapper I like to bring Corrupt intervention for gens, Devour Hope, then the other 2 are either STBFL, Bamboozle, NC, Sloppy butcher, pgtw, franklins demise, bbq, whispers, blood warden ect. I try not to build around Devour because if it gets cleansed, I can still play.
-
It's hard to show respect for moments when it feels like you weren't out played so much as the game's mechanics are flawed. I've been chainsawed by a Billy who literally chased me around a loop and hit me over top a desk. The kind of chainsaw sprint that no amount of turning add ons and mouse flicking should permit. Or when I am being chased by a tier 3 Myers, I fast vault a window, lithe activates, I take 2 steps and somehow I still got hit at the window. Or I vaulted the 2nd story window in Myer's house, I'm half way to the ground and he hits my scalp.
Though rare there are moments when I felt I was genuninly out played instead of screwed over. Anytime I face a trapper and "I" step in a trap. I feel that killer earned it. Since he is my main when I step in a trap I tell myself "I should have seen that coming". I usually give props to stealth killers who sneak up on me when I am working on a gen. I don't always run spinechill but I always keep my head on a swivel. If someone manages to grab me off a gen it's not because of BS, it's because I didn't react fast enough.
-
DS is fine. I preached about how broken it was for years but after the last change, I feel it is in a good spot now.
