    Troll comments aren't needed, thanks.

    He’s being serious.
Again: troll comments aren't needed, my dear Survivor mains. If you'd actually have any experience on the matter whatsoever, you wouldn't be talking all the crap you guys continue to let out simply because you're utterly ignorant about 50% of the game.
  • Issue: fps drops and lighting on new map
    Processor: i7-4820K, overclocked
    RAM: 16GB
Hard Drive: Crucial MX SSD (DbD installation)
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080, factory overclocked
    Monitor: Samsung UHD TV
    Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
    Quality selected: Medium
Map played: Father Campbell's Chapel, Mount Ormond Resort
    Additional details:
Mount Ormond feels way too bright, but I already mentioned that in here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/32397/mount-ormond-resort-too-bright#latest

My fps issue stems from playing Freddy, the new volumetric fog is extremely taxing on at least my GPU, which considering that it is a 1080, shouldn't really be a thing. I had severe fps drops and lag spikes, causing the game to become very difficult to play and leading to many missed hits or walking into stuff.

Where did you look it up?

The wiki, where else? @DocOctober was updating the wiki yesterday based on the PTB.

Ok, I thought it isn't out yet. Thanks.

It isn't. I haven't updated that stat just yet. We got it from a dev.

  • Keep in mind, dear Survivors, that BBQ was added for you guys as an incentive for Killers to not camp, but instead go for someone else. If you keep hiding and the Killer won't see any Auras, many will assume that you swarm the Hook and will camp.

    It's a double-edged sword.
  • Afraid looping him won't be as effective?
  • And in a couple of Chapters, we'll have the same problem all over again.

    How lovely.

I cannot say what has been discussed, although we definitely do not want to screw up player's progression. If the system is totally revamped, you can obviously expect a compensation equalling your current progression. I ''guess'' something similar to what Blizzard did with HoTS.

That's good to hear. Last time this was discussed, there was no talk of any compensation whatsoever.
  • If Perk Tiers get removed, I demand Bloodpoint compensation for all the unnecessary Level 50 Bloodwebs I bought to get all Perks on some Characters.

Another problem would also be that currently, there aren't enough General Perks around to supply 50 Bloodweb Levels with Perks unless all Teachables of nearly all Characters are unlocked.

  • It only makes sense to go for the weaker target if you play with a win in mind. To get rid of a Survivor as quickly as possible is the best way to buy yourself time and diminish the Survivors' chances to escape.

  • The Nurse suffers from Lightburn, like all Killers that use the Spirit World. However, in an actual game, you won't have the time to do so before she'll blink on top of you or you'll be so close that she'll just go for a normal hit.
  • This game is not intended to have voice chat, it's a design choice.

Sure, but then your Items and Add-ons will be single-use only.

    Do you want that?

most of the time they are since you only keep them if you escape meaning your saying your so bad as killer it means you cant kill everyone.

also killer add ons do so much more than survivor items and addons. survivor items and add ons can be one use when flashlights are unlimited and always guarantee a save and tool box and add ons complete a gen in 10 sec

I'd give you an F in textual comprehension. Only bias and malice can interpret "if you want more Bloodpoints, your Items and Add-ons would need to become single-use only without the ability to save and re-use in them in subsequent games" as "I am a bad Killer who can't kill everyone".

I won't bother any further with you. What you're doing is absolutely despicable and pathetic.

Oh, does that still exist? I need a cost. (Because if so, I’m going to buy it.)
There's no way to upgrade your game to the Deluxe Edition, but you can google for it.

I'd have no problem with that. Most of the times my items and add-ons are single-use anyway because I use them up during the match or exchange it with other items I find in chests. Or I die. So more bloodpoints would be nice.

Of course you'd had no problem. Survivors are not dependent on their Items and their Add-ons unlike most of the Killers.

  • It's a challenge Perk. I pair it with Sole Survivor (my team mates tend to be suicidal noobs anyways) and automatically play more carefully and deliberately.

I survive quite often with it due to playing cautious and being able to track the Killer at nearly all times without being seen yourself is immensely powerful for hatch games.
  • Sure, but then your Items and Add-ons will be single-use only.

    Do you want that?
  • 3, Survivors are too easy still.
  • Dear Survivor mains, camping is just as much unfun to Killers as it is to you, but thanks to how fast gens are done, how little time Killers have and how overly altruistic you guys tend to be, it often pays off.
  • There is an Artbook in the Deluxe Edition.
  • Absolutely yes.

Just go if it's not safe to attempt a rescue. I see too many Killers get undeserved end-game kills due to overly altruistic Survivors.

Fascinating how "Freddy mains" suddenly start treads about how he doesn't need any buffs. Now that he gets his overdue rework.

It's almost like people fear facing something else than nurse & Billy on high ranks.

Is that so? What if I tell you then, that I agree with those you call ""Freddy mains""?

I've mained Freddy for almost 3 months during the summer and learnt to work with his weaknesses and maximise his strengths, while being few, they are strong if used correctly.

I have a couple of actual Freddy mains or who played him extensively on my friends list and they all agree that he doesn't need a complete rework to be good, but a couple of QoL changes would suffice (as he has all game mechanics stacked against him).

McLean once suggested giving him the Class Photo as a base-kit in exchange for the wallhack. I say get lost with that, Class Photo as base-kit is crap, it's his wallhack that makes him strong

I'm honestly not looking forward to a full rework. I enjoy Freddy as he is and he's a heck of a lot of fun to play as once you really get him down to a tee and the only frustrating things about him then are shenanigans like healing overriding the pick-up prompt or lunges preferring to go for awake Survivors. Get rid of that and he's perfect IMO.

Oh I reached rank 1 playing only him. I even played him perkless on rank 1.
He has absolutely everything stacked against him. Poor vision, wait timer before being able to interact with survivors (totems and gens get finished while he has to watch, and don't get me started on the hatch), being unable to pick up downed survivors while they are being healed (which makes the killer with a specialization for endgame, extremely weak during said endgame) and last but not least: being a m1 killer who doesn't has insta downs and has to wait before he can down anyone.

At this point a rework would be probably easier than trying to fix this mess.

I disagree. I'm pretty sure a rework would cost him too much in terms of his skill ceiling.

  • Quite honestly, I think the devs should no longer release statistics. They are not doing anyone a favour.

  • And really, this goes to anyone in here ridiculing others for their opinion.

I'm convinced that the majority of people in this and similar threads, claiming that Freddy doesn't need a complete rework, actually do play and understand him and aren't just Survivor mains trying to prevent him getting buffs.

Just because you haven't figured out how Freddy works, doesn't mean others haven't. And since I'm still being labelled as a "filthy Killer main" by most Survivor mains even though I am not and play both sides equally, I think this should give some credibility to at least my words.

  • Maybe you should familiarise yourself with the Patch Notes.
  • I wouldn't bother with her on console. You'll never get to the level of a PC Nurse with just a controller.
  • He needs some QoL buffs and that's it.
  • For the backwater swamp maps both are early names for Grim Pantry (Grim gulley) and The Pale Rose (Dead lake.) We are not getting more swamp any time soon.

The mini map is used in the killer and survivor turtorial.

May that be or not be the case, the Maps still exist as separate files, not as different versions of one.
  • I also extensively played Freddy for a long time and I agree with OP, he doesn't need a full-on buff. Class Photo as base kit in exchange for his wallhack? Get lost with that. What he needs are a couple of QoL buffs and that's it. He can do very well as Killer and usually if you lose a kill, it's because he has literally every game mechanic stacked against him and not because he's weak as such.
  • Definitely Add-ons for most Killers.
  • And anyone who is not a biased, blind Survivor main knows that the stats are bullshit as they disregard any context whatsoever that contributed towards the results and that Killers actually are NOT overpowered. Most kills still happen due to the Survivors screwing up and not because the Killer played better than them.

I still see way too many games that go from 3 escapes to 3 deaths due to overly altruistic late-game Survivors. Only because they can't possibly sacrifice one of their team mates and just call it a day and get out.

@Orion It's not fair: every realm should have the same opportunity to be drawn, because different realms change the playstyle more than different maps of a certain realm.

    @not_Queen @Patricia @Peanits @Suggestive We need your wise explanation. :)

That's how it used to work and it led to new Maps and Realms being a very rare occurrence wirhout using Offerings for them, since the older Realms had more Maps and thus a better chance to be picked.
  • Read up on RNG.
  • Dead by Daylight is not the best game for casual players, it requires getting good, and a lot of it. Still, it's certainly not too late to start now, the game is thriving more than ever.

  • God forbid the Killer actually tries to kill you!!! What an outrage, what an atrocity!!!!

  • Probably complained the ######### out of the survey
  • Most of the male Killers are done by Filip Ivanovic, the game's Art Director.

The Doctor is voiced by Alex Lin, Product Manager at BHVR.

Kate's original voice actress was Marie-Michelle Do, a PR employee at BHVR.

The Spirit is voiced by Gabrielle Murphy aka not_Queen, our Community Manager.

The Survivors are a bunch of different employees at BHVR.
  • Probably not in the near future. The height trigger for those objects is limitless and it's low priority.
  • Pallet looping is just one thing: extremely cheap

It's low risk, high reward and just boring to play against and borderline cheating if you ask me as it abuses collision box differences to diminish the Killer's speed advantage.

I just have to laugh at those that're so desperate to make me look bad they not only take what I say out of context but try and throw disparate things together to make it look better.

The simple fact is that some killer mains on here have mastered Freddy at rank 1 and terrorize with him regularly. But because some posters on here can't handle a logical argument they resort to distortion and then do it again.

I could easily pull together disparate posts and put them together and make the foolish people look even more foolish. But that'd be dishonest to tie a bunch of stuff together to try and make them look foolish for saying something they didn't say.

I'll leave this quote here for the ones that want to try and distort to make others look foolish but instead make themselves look foolish.

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to speak and remove all doubt"

Sadly those 2 have already removed all doubt.

You're not entitled to the 4th kill.

There's ways to stop hatch plays cold, like slugging the last 2, knowing where the hatch is and intercepting, and such.

The killer is more responsible for opening the hatch than the survivor.

All it takes is one DC from a Survive With Friends team and there's absolutely nothing the Killer can do about it.

The Survivor also isn't entitled to the Hatch escape.

Sure there is. Slug the 4th. Hook the 4th.

That strat only works if they know where the hatch is, and can get to it first.

The survivor doesn't get entitled to it. They still have to live long enough to find it, and get through it.

Effin'A the killer even has a chance to grab a survivor like they were going through a window and stop the hatch play.

    It's still a battle.

Which doesn't work in my scenario.

How the hell not? Kill the 4th person.
They need to know where the hatch is.

They may abuse the system to open the hatch, but it's not an instant loss.

    You still get quitter bonus.

Would you mind reading stuff properly? The Survivor knew where the hatch was and was there, only waiting for their SWF buddy to DC. Both knew the hatch location and as soon as it opened, the remaining Survivor came around the corner. I can't kill them then as they would jump into the Hatch during the attack cool-down.

Seriously, at this point, this is how you guys act:

Report them so they get nailed.

The Survivor also isn't entitled to the Hatch escape.

Neither side is entitled at all except those wanting their side to benefit.

    DCs can't be reported.

But one side has alternative objectives that could be done instead, the other doesn't.

  • Let me rephrase the question: you say that I'm not entitled to the 4th kill, but why should I be the one to forfeit the game and let the Survivor escape? That comes awfully close to the Survivor being entitled to a Hatch escape even if you didn't say it directly.

  • @powerbats said:

    @DocOctober said:

What exactly is there to patrol if the Survivor is RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME? As I pointed out, the Survivor knew about the Hatch's location. It was located in a jungle gym and the Survivor hid behind the wall when I downed their SWF team mate who then disconnected. Right as the Hatch opened, the Survivor came around the corner and the stand-off began.

There's nothing to patrol or hunt in that scenario. That's the same stupid response given to camping Killers in case of hook-swarming Survivors.

And you say that I'm not entitled to the fourth kill, but why is the Survivor somehow entitled to that Hatch escape? Huh?

Stop trying to make up scenarios you haven't witnessed.

    1. I'm not talking about your single scenario or wasn't I clear enough?

    2. So how is that a stupid response just because you didn't like a factual response about the more often scenario which is the killer finds it 1st?

3, I never said the survivor was entitled to the hatch now did I, if you have to resort to that type of response it's obvious you've already lost.

.4 Oh so in my 1362+ hours I"ve never witnessed a single hatch standoff, wow that's some genius logic considering I've been involved in plenty on both sides.

Now I know you don't have any argument but are grasping at straws now.

Read my post in the context of me having assumed that you were referring to MY scenario, since that was the logical thing to assume on my part.

In the context of a general Hatch game with the possibility of there not being a stand-off from the very start of the Hatch spawn, I don't have the complaints I portray in post.

If there is a chance to down the Survivor before they reach the Hatch, I'm just fine with it. I only have a problem with the scenario in which there is no option for the Killer to not lose the stand-off unless the Survivor jumps first and you manage to grab them, which is the scenario I recently had.
