No, he asked you why you think it matters, asked what you gained from knowing it, and then said it wasn't a part of the lore that impacts the game. You're reading things that aren't there.

    ^That

And quite frankly, @TheLegendDyl4n1 regarding the attitude you portray in this thread, you are part of why some people dislike those identifying as LGBTQ.

Representation is an incredibly important aspect of human culture, and important for marketing when it comes to expanding your target audience. As someone who is queer, it would make me happy to see someone I can relate to on a deeper level who is in this scenario.

Specifically I have experienced trauma related to being queer, and I literally use this game sometimes as a form of relief and therapy. There’s something healing about being in a safe space and using a survival horror game to relieve an assault experience and survive. Especially unscratched.

My trauma doesn’t specifically lie with just being queer, but other crazy experiences as a child related to a neigbor next door with a knife. So horror games and horror movies in general work as a sort of therapeutic experience for me. But to reiterate it would be nice to see someone who I can relate to a little more when playing survivor.

As others have asked before: why does it matter? What would it give you to know someone's sexual orientation in this game? That's really not the part their lore or back-story should focus on as it's irrelevant to the game. If this were some triple-x homage of Dead by Daylight, it would be a different story.

any lore related question can be asked here so again as i will say you need to leave the lore area if your going to complain about every lore related question you dont like or cant comprehend

Maybe you should leave instead since you continuously refuse to answer an honest question.

You’ve already been given an answer, it seems you’re just struggling to comprehend it.

It matters because of representation. And I absolutely disagree, it should not only be implemented if this site were some triple x homage. That’s grossly ignorant. Why should it only be relevant if there’s gonna be a over sexualized fan base? Queer characters can show intimacy without getting oversexualized, and that association of it needing hyper sexalization and only being valid in that circumstance is rather inappropriate.

This game is about showing people from different walks of life struggle to survive. I’d like to know because it’s just as interesting a detail to me as Claudette being a botany student, or meg being a runner who didn’t pursue her dreams to take care of her mother.

It doesn’t have to be the mai aspect of a character’s identity, but it is valid to view it as an element that would critically shape the experiences of the survivor and thus influence their personality and position in life.

Last, I don’t understand why you’re posting here asking why the sexuality matter s here, but not posting over in the “Claudette’s love interest” thread making the same points. The fact you are only posting about this issue in a thread about lgbtq representation and not in threads talking about romance and sex in general appears like your issue is focused on the lgbtq element itself and not about representation of romance and sexuality.

My issue lies with people wanting to be represented at all cost and especially for the sake of it, which OP's request is.

As for Claudette's love interest, I don't post in every single thread on this forum. My "interest" in this thread was mainly its title and that my buddy Orion was the last one to post in it when I saw it.

Wanting to be represented at all costs? What did they sacrifice or “pay” or say should be given up for the chance to have a queer character? I don’t recall them saying anything should be removed from lore or taken away to have that representation

It seems to me that you take the saying "at all cost" a tad too literally. I'm simply pointing out that it's OP's only argument for why a LGBTQ character should be added to this game or why someone of the existing ones should be outed as such.

It's a slasher horror game, who cares about their sexual orientation? I bet you anything that many who posted in here disagreeing with OP's request are actually LGBTQ themselves, but like Orion or myself don't feel the need to be desperately represented in every game we play just for the sake of being represented.

you can dislike it all you want but it doesnt matter to you if it doesnt effect you which it doesnt. so if your not going to participate in the subject which is "like are any of the survivors in the game now LGBTQ and if not are you planning on there being any? any one have any ideas or seen things that sugest there is?" i also talked about what i thought and asked what people thought on the subject

And I gave you my opinion on it: it doesn't matter to the game as your request is simply for the sake of being represented. That should never be the main reason for why an LGBTQ character is added to a game.

  • And that, my fellow community members, is why I reacted the way I did when asked for sources on the information about Hallowed Blight. I despise false accusations and assumptions and won't stand for it.

Still, since I'm in a good mood, I'll answer some of the questions regarding the Wiki.

The Removal of the Wiki Article

The devs did indeed interfere in this one, they asked Gamepedia Staff to temporarily delete The Hallowed Blight Article as they weren't happy that information that wasn't supposed to be public yet was already public.

Quite frankly, I think it's absolutely silly as the information was posted all over Reddit well before the Article on the Wiki was created, but we do get a considerable amount of daily traffic, so I guess that's a point they have. The Article will be restored as soon as the Event is announced officially.

    Fake Chapter release date

The release date of 11 September for Shattered Bloodline was advertised as being a speculation based on their past release schedule of Curtain Call and a cycle of 6 weeks in-between large updates that the devs mentioned some time in August. It was a reasonable speculation and advertised as such. It's not my problem in the slightest if people ignore the "FYI, THAT'S JUST SPECULATION, DON'T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!" part.

    Source for Hallowed Blight

First off, @Visionmaker claimed that the information was posted long before the PTB was up. That is false. The PTB was released on 2 October, the Hallowed Blight article was created on 7 October, 5 days later.

Secondly, the source for Hallowed Blight was the game itself, to be precise, the PTB-build was. It is a well-known fact amongst data-miners by now that each PTB-build of Dead by Daylight not only contains the stuff we get to test and see on the PTB, but usually also a lot of hidden content in the game files that isn't available in the game yet. All the stuff that was featured in the article was found in the game files, which are not accessible by the general user aside from the icons for the new cosmetics as those are found in the regular game folders.

So, that should clear things up, I hope. As for @ACEvHEARTS, I still don't like your tone, so don't be surprised if I'm not too thrilled to share any information with you.

BHVR have actually disabled the function of Moonlight offerings now. If you still have them on your Survivors or Killers, using them won't have any effect.
They haven't removed the offerings, but they have disabled their effect.
There was apparently a problem where players would mod their save files or something to get moonlight offerings and use New Moon Bouquets to make maps extremely dark.
But I believe BHVR also stated that, when it comes to the new maps they're creating, they haven't bothered to add different lighting levels (such as what would be determined when a Moonlight offering was used) as the offerings should no longer exist outside of Kill Your Friends. So essentially, these offerings have no effect whatsoever on certain maps.
That being said there'd be no point in keeping the offerings in Kill Your Friends either since, as stated before, none of the newer maps have any difference in lighting to accommodate Moonlight offerings.
It's easier to just disable them outright, but having disabled them entirely now, BHVR should probably remove them from the game or, just to be certain, make them completely unusable like they do with Event offerings for events that have expired.
I still have BBQ Invitations on some of my characters, but because the event has ended, they are completely unusable. BHVR should do the same thing to Moonlight offerings, effectively removing them from the game.

The Moonlight Offerings still work on all Maps, there's no need to adapt them to each Map since all they do is basically change the position of a pointer on a brightness slider, which by default is in the middle position. All that changes from Map to Map, is how bright/dark that default position is.

How much clearler do you effing need it?

There is really no need to be condescending. Especially if you have nothing new to add to the discussion. I understand how teachable perks work once they have been unlocked, if you've read the thread at all I've clearly said I have unlocked at least one on each character already.

I meant the wiki says that everything is essentially reset after prestige. It didn't clarify if the teachables will also be reset and you would need to relearn them again (i.e if you haven't unlocked them on another character you would need to relearn the teachable).

An assumption for which there's no basis, which is what annoys me since I maintain the Wiki.
  • Strider said:

Yeah I know about those details from the wiki. But it wasn't very clear on how the teachables work past prestige, hence this thread.

Sorry, but then you aren't reading stuff properly. The Wiki states that Teachables work like keys to unlock them for other Characters, meaning that the Unique Perks become general Perks.

How much clearer do you effing need it?

I don't understand how people keep thinking that Teachable Perks remain tied to their main Character's Unique Perks, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

You ask for something to be fixed that only affects a rather small minority. The devs have an exhausting list of things that need fixing or improving which are much more important than the issue of colourblindness, especially if there are workarounds available like nvidia freestyle to help you guys out in the meantime.

The game is advancing loads, just not in the departments you'd like it to, sucks, but you've got to deal with it. Colourblind-support is very low on their list of priorities.

First of all some of us are playing in console, so there aren't any workarounds. And most importantly, we're not asking for a complete recoding of the game, instead asking for really simple stuff like this:

    * gen auras were a different color before the Clown/Kate patch, a whiteish (or whatever) aura that was visible on most maps without too much trouble for us. Why did they have to turn gen auras dark red in the first place?? So it is harder to spot survivors with BBQ?? Wouldn't doubt it. Simple solution: revert gen aura color and make survivors auras the same color. It's obvious this is a simple change because they already have different colors coded for auras, like the ones displayed when using Bond or while being hooked, the one when you stalk with Myers, the one when the killer is near the hook/kindred, the one from Alert, Object of obsession, etc.

    * hook aura colors: same as above, dark red. Why is it so simple to have blue hook auras (or whatever the color is) during the events, and not as a permanent option?? They even switch the color from blue to red once you've hooked someone there, in the middle of the game!! Does this require a huge amount of resources?? Obviously it does not. Give us the option to choose hook aura colors! I'm not asking them to recode the Red forest or Haddonfield map colors, just the option to choose the auras.

    * Dying and hooked teammates: Dark red. It's difficult enough to heal/save them knowing where they are. Just turn them pink, or green, or white, or blue, because we colorblind survivors DON'T know where they are hooked or crawling.

With the truckloads of money the studio is getting from cosmetics, I would expect that making their game more accessible to roughly 10% of male population translates into potentially 10% MORE MONEY for them. So this is not only a simple QOL improvement for US. It's also a business decision that will potentially improve THEIR QORL, quality of real life.

Thanks for reading, and excuse me if grammar is not perfect. English is my second language.

Even seemingly simple fixes take time to implement and again, it's a minority that is affected. It's just not a priority for them. They aware of it, but that's pretty much it for the moment.

  • @DocOctober said:
No. People who don't suffer from colour-blindness usually don't think of it as they have not experienced it, hence there aren't more of them here.

the problem for them is no that the game isnt normal for them but that it seems weird because they say see a bloodtrail or scratch marks on the ground and cant follow them as well as i could because they have a harder time either seeing the red in general or determining what is the red and what is the green grass. this is only one instance there are many others it would be helpful either way to add this to the game for people who have color-blindness so they can fix the game the best way they can so they can see. people like you who constantly complain about the stupidist things are the reason why this game isnt growing as fast as it could. things i ask to be fixed are actual problems in the game no matter how small they are, they are still problems.

You ask for something to be fixed that only affects a rather small minority. The 2 hooks are without offerings. If everyone uses a offering, you have 7 hooks.

But still, 50 per piece? That's a lot. If it was for the whole set, that'd be what I would expect.

It´s only a problem if survivors try to sabotage the event (pun intended)

Can you at least use the things you get as survivors for the killer cosmetics?

I hope so. Last events were divided. I really hope that we get the same event currency.

Since they've only really shown off how awesome the killer skins are, and not any survivor skins at all, I really hope so.

They showed the Claudette and Dwight skins. Those look really good. I´m not sure if those will be purchasable via event currency or auric cells.

Well on the DBD Wiki it says that the event currency, the Putrid Serum, is only used to purchase the 5 killer cosmetics. It doesn't say anything about the survivor ones.

Playing the 2.2 series as a survivor, i am experiencing following:

    • Wiggling doesn't work anymore. Killers can drag a lvl 148 Kate Benson with boil over III half across the playing field, even if a killer doesn't use iron grasp and i go from left to right like a madman on my PS4 controller.
    • Vaulting is waaaaaay too slow. Kate Benson's perk "Windows of Opportunity" III may look great, it doesn't work, when vaulting is this slow on the ps4
    • Iron grasp is too much. IMPOSSIBLE to get out of it on a PS4 (even with the kate mentioned above)
    • In the 2.1 series I managed to escape 1 in 6 games. In the 2.2 series (unless the killer is an utter noob) it is less than 1 in 20.

So in my opinion the game is getting off balanced. As a survivor it isn't much fun anymore as (in my opinion) it has been made way too easy for killers.

    • Wiggling has a capped speed and it takes 16 seconds to wiggle free if you reach the minimum velocity.
    • Vaulting is plenty fast and all Windows Of Opportunity does is show you the Aura of a vault spot, nothing else.
    • Iron Grasp III only adds 1.92 seconds to the wiggle time --> 17.92 seconds. Boil Over only affects the swerve of the Killer, not the wiggle time and Boil Over and Iron Grasp cancel each other out regarding the swerve.
    • Not much changed balance-wise between 2.1 and 2.2, seems to be a good old git gud problem.
  • Of course Bayushki Bayu shows up in other games. The lullaby is comparable to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star regarding popularity and how common it is.

  • Doesn't sound anything like a DbD-theme.

Also try to avoid letting him 3 gen strat you. its a docs favorite strat. Hes pretty low tier and in my personal experience his attack with his weapon is kinda wonky so often enough you will see them overestimate their range or fk up their swing.

Illusionary Doctors are a thing without Add-ons, but he only sees their Aura if Survivors are on Madness III in that case.

  • I was wondering what you guys think of this theory a lore savvy community member came up with:

    • The Entity resides in the Spirit World sub-realm, backed by the shared particle effects (little orange lights) of the Entity-blockers, Hook spider legs, Wraith's cloak, the Nurse's blink charge in her hand and the phantasm trap perimeter.
    • It has a weakness to light which it passed on to the Killers whom it gave part of its power (Lightburn mechanic and the ability to burn phantasm traps).
    • It observes the trials through the Killer's eyes via the Red Stain, which explains their extreme weakness to Flashlights and why the Stain vanishes with Beast Of Prey: the Entity momentarily loses its link to the Killer.

Not part of the question anymore, but I thought I'd provide the link to the thread I got this from:

Just gonna put this here: the Skeleton Key and the Broken Key have two VERY different icons aside from the colour.

ok i will try to teach him the item icons but he is fairly new

Which is better than going by colours. Not all Items are unique in their Rarity and can be distinguished solely by that.

My only single point was, I just went through the entire changelog and could not see any hint that the cosmetics of the Haunted Blight collection could be grinded for during the event "for free". And comparing the previous event rewards such as the black Huntress mask or Kate's shirt to the HB cosmetics that look more awesome to me than some of the current "high end" stuff that is only available for purchase with auric cells, I was wondering where this information came from that for this event there would be a "grind and get for free even without needing any shards" set of premium outfits.

It would be awesome if that was the case, I just don't want to be disappointed. And as I know the community, some would get out their virtual pitchforks and call the devs liars if the event reward is something different even though there's no official word at all so far ...-- NORMAL --

Quite frankly, at this point I'm so pissed off that I'll just let you wait on the official dev word or you can go look for yourself for the information. It's there, good luck, have fun.

  • What about unreliable team mates or toxic SWFs?

I often run Self-Care in solo-queue, otherwise I could equip No Mither and have the same effect since a lot of those stupid team mates won't heal you or get themselves killed before chance arises.

Often it's not the Killer who's the biggest threat to a solo-Surv, it's the other Survivors.

i just made a friend on xbox who said he had a red key and when i died and spectated him it was a green one so i asked him why he said it was red when its green and he said he is a little colorblind and that he cant tell sometimes if items are green or red he gets them confused so if this was added it could be put into the game where he can change the color of red things to like a bright yellow so like red items, add-ons, generators, hooks appeared yellow and he could tell the difference between green things a red things. this is just on color blind situation there are many more diffrent types of colorblindness

Just gonna put this here: the Skeleton Key and the Broken Key have two VERY different icons aside from the colour.

  • Of course that information isn't featured in the regular folders anyone can have a look it, it's hidden inside the pak files. You can find out yourself how to read those.

Edit: because we all know how reliable wiki is...

in-game files and regarding your comment --> .|.

I put tons of my spare time voluntarily into keeping the Wiki up-to-date and accurate.

And where does the information come from that the cosmetics are the rewards? I have looked through the game files myself (at least what can be found on the web, I can't decode it myself) and while the majority of the wiki information can be found in there, I see no connection between the cosmetics and event rewards.

I'm just a bit suspicious because considering what was given as rewards in previous events and looking at the quality of the Hallow Blight cosmetics, this would be ... well ... the devs being more generous than ever before would be an understatement.

Just because YOU can't find it since you can't decode stuff, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Everything's on the Wiki.

You people go on my nerves. I spent 2.5 hours last night compiling all the information together into a clean, proper Wiki Article and you ingrates just keep on bitching about where I got the information from.

All I have to say about Tyde is that he can eff himself with the Doctor's Stick for the comment related to the Doctor's Hallowed Blight cosmetic.

Tyde knows a lot, but he's utterly ignorant in some regards, mainly in how strong Killers are. He's a noob Doctor, yet convinced that he knows how to play him.

The Doctor has no way to travel the map faster, no way to down survivors faster, and no way to deal with looping. He's just a M1 killer with a ginormus terror radius, that can track survivors easily, but can't do anything during a chase, and is ez pz countered just by knowing how he and the game work.
It's as simple as that. If Freddy and the Spirit didn't exist, the Doctor would be the worst killer in the game.

Well would you look at that, another ignorant.

Can't play the Doc? Git gud.

Guess I cant expect any footage from you since you ignore me. Classic

Nope, I simply overlooked your comment.

I only have old footage from pre-Doctor Cube times and only from streamers that I versed back then. I usually don't record my games, because frankly, what's the point if you aren't a streamer?

JUST ADD IT ALREADY DEVS NAME ONE OTHER THREAD WITH MORE THAN 9 PAGES AND NO SURVIVOR VS KILLER ARGUING

That is really not an argument for your case. So what if there's one thread in which Killers and Survivors don't argue, that's nothing you can base your argumentation on.

There's a thread on the Steam Forums with well over 4000 comments. It does have arguments in it, but ignoring those, it's still vastly bigger than this thread here, yet what the thread asked for wasn't implemented so far.

The same couple of guys bumping the thread (which isn't allowed by the way) to artificially inflate its comment count and keep it from going under in other threads, isn't exactly the best way to get attention for a cause either.

If you want to change something, you need to gather more people for your cause and make the devs see that it is a big demand by numerous people and not just by a group of people inflating it to bigger proportions.

  • This won't slow the game down for the same reason Decisive Strike doesn't help new Survivors (like it was supposed to do) or why Ruin isn't very effective against experienced Survivors.

Experienced Survivors have no trouble consistently hitting Great or difficult Skill Checks, they pretty much ignore any mechanic that tries to make that more difficult.

Newcomers on the other hand have lots of troubles hitting Great or difficult Skill Checks, they get punished much worse by those mechanics.

And as we all know, the newcomer Survivors aren't the gen rushers, the experienced ones are.

that's like saying bbq and chilli is perk that requires skill.

A perk that only activates when you win a chase and get a hook doesn't require skill? Do Survivors just spawn on hooks?

Lol... that's not very good logic.  Mostly because I consider it impossible to go through a match without hooking someone.   I think noed takes more skill

Impossible to go an entire match without Hooking? Excellent joke. It's rare, but does happen.
  • Well, if you guys wouldn't continue making camping a very effective strategy, it would happen less.

Camping is only ever as effective as Survivors make it be.
