counter
"a thing which opposes or prevents something else"So, let me get this straight:
You believe that A Nurse's Calling, a Perk which reveals the Aura of healing Survivors within up to 28 metres of the Killer somehow prevents the Survivor from using Self-Care?
Going by your logic, do you then agree with me, that Territorial Imperative is an excellent counter to basement saves? I mean, we all know that having your Aura revealed puts a magic interaction-blocker on you.
Well technically speaking no, but in a sense it does counter it since if the survivor is stupid enough to heal in your terror radius you can stop it and down them.
Thus stopping aka countering the heal. 😁
Sorry couldn't resist that last part.
I condemn thee back to hell, devil's advocate!
Joking aside, that's not how a counter works, but unlike Grimzy, I believe you know that.

The overall game (and especially Freddy) is to dark. Recently I saw a YouTube video about the machine gun build. And it was stunning how bright the game was.
I don't understand why the devs changed that.
wait the dream world or was it the normal game? the game doesn't need to be brightened. just the dream world. If it just had more Fog and the some dark over lay but some brightness to even light like the... wake world (i don't know what to call it) then it would be better. freddy to me is a fun character to play. but do to the darkness its so easy to get lost.
Look how bright the game is, without being to bright.
That's only Disturbed Ward, the rest of the maps were darker than they are nowadays.
Disturbed Ward was a very bright map back in the days in comparison to the dark original Realms, it had the look of breaking dawn. The devs changed that with the lighting engine change and made it much darker.

I’m pretty sure all you need to do to be a cannibal is eat people, and the bone marrow is something that would be consumable, and the. Boiling the bones would provide you a broth.
A cannibal would totally eat bones or find a way to remove them and utilize them for a supper if desired.
Bone is not edible. You can swallow it, sure, but it just ######### up your digestive system. That's why cannibals don't eat bone.
I mentioned consuming the bone marrow and removing bone to boil and create a broth. Not literally eating the bone like it’s a carrot.
There's no evidence lore-wise that Lisa had her arm removed. The model not having a right arm is economics 101: don't spend unnecessary resources on creating a model for something that will constantly be replaced by a different model anyways. Creating a Killer costs the devs several thousand dollars (the Spirit cost about 35 grand). Not having to model her right arm would save a lot of money.

Internet Explorer?

It also comes from people simply misreading haven as heaven since it was called that long before Gas Heaven was added to the game. Some people even call it Autoraven.
-
Idle animations are a new thing, they haven't been in the game for long.
The devs can't change anything about licenced Killers unless they receive permission from the licence holders, a cumbersome process usually not worth for small things such as an idle animation.

Best
Doctor: I love frying Survivor brains and I'll make Rancor part of my go-to Perks on him just to have a free Mori.
Worst
Pig: really underwhelming Mori. To be fair, the Trapper and Wraith's Mori aren't much more creative, but they get some lenience due to having been the first Moris. We've had great Moris before the Pig came into the game so in relation to that, hers is boring.

Hi, I am a new player ,just bought a psn cd keys from gvgmall and played the game yesterday . I like this game but got so tired of the toxic community in that game. I played a few round yesterday and just thought the game would be a lot more fun playing with friends. I'm hoping you all would give me some tips on how to play, what to do, maybe adding me so we can play together. I played as Jason today and got one kill followed by one which was kinda #########. I was wondering if this is common.Any tips would be much appreciated. Hope to see some nice people in game, thanks!I can't resist not telling you, but please don't call The Trapper "Jason". Yes, he may be inspired by him, but our Trapper is called Evan MacMillan and has his own background story.
Dead by Daylight has a harsh learning curve for any newcomer, though it is easier to start off playing as Killer.
The Trapper is a good starter Killer, but not the strongest of them. He is very RNG-dependent with his Bear Traps. If you want to master him, you need to learn not to trap the obvious spots (like below Pallets or Windows) in which Survivors will anticipate a Trap unless they are too busy trying to get away from you during a Chase. It's best to trap narrow "corridors" and then herd the Survivor into the Trap. The Trapper is a herding Killer, you need to herd the Survivors into your Traps with the way you position yourself in relation to the Survivor during a Chase. Make their only two options be to either run into you and take a hit or run into a Trap and get downed instantly.
-
I doubt that we'll ever get any of the "original Survivors" as playable Characters.
-
Pretty much everything there's to say has already been said.
Still, there's one thing I'd like to clarify @2BadWaluigiTime : I know the numbers go down, but you are actually ranking up. Hence, the generally agreed upon terminology of the Ranks are:
- Low Ranks for Ranks 20-15
- (Low-Mid Ranks for Ranks 15-10)
- Mid Ranks for Ranks ~10
- (High-Mid Ranks for Ranks 10-5)
- High Ranks for 5-1
Only the terms in brackets aren't really used.

Well, that doesn't change the fact that I reach 4k almost every game on the Spirit using Predator, Stridor and decent earphones.Oh stop pretending. Everyone and their mother knows by now that you are a lying Survivor main. You probably never even touched the Spirit or you would have known that you cannot see blood during the Phase Walk unless you use an Ultra Rare Add-on.
It's a pathetic and vile attempt at trying to lobby against Spirit buffs, so that you and your skill-less Survivor main colleagues can keep their EZ games against her.

"instantaneous"
occurring or done instantly --> 0ms
average human reflex time: about 250ms, definitely longer if you not just have to notice the action, but also react to it.
See the problem?

It sucks, but you'll just have to deal with it. Rancor only gives the Killer an Aura flare-up, not an actual Aura, you on the other do see theirs. You have all the tools to go stealth mode in that situation and not be found.
You can't be downed and killed if you aren't found. Let the others do the gate, then sneak out.
I do. I’m just saying it sucks. I may be a Dwight main, but sitting in lockers because I HAVE to is a disgrace to the Dwight gods
But it is a way to deal with Rancor. As long as a Perk has actual counters, it's fine.

The idea that by having more perks you need more perk slots. The number of perk slots was never influenced by the availability of perks but by balance, which should be obvious imo
The idea was also suggested mainly because by having more perks to play with and more perks you could build way more builds. And I came with the suggestion to add a limit so you wouldn't be able to make SUPER OP builds.
This is the killer one.
That would be the most reasonable way to do it but you'd need a separation related to what they affect, not just strong vs weak.
Regardless it would need perk changes and a category implementation which would be a nightmare to balance. Given it's already pretty hard to do it at all I'd say just leave it alone
And here we have exactly the problem of categorising Perks, people are too biased to do that.
You put Thanatophobia as a crutch Perk for Killers. You yourself said that Crutch Perks means that it is a powerful one. Thanatophobia is by no means a powerful Perk. In the best scenario (for Killers) of 4 injured Survivors for the duration of a gen repair (which basically never happens) it only adds about 10 seconds to a solo-repaired Generator. That is NOT strong. A failed Skill Check has almost the same effect as it regresses Gens 10 % (8 seconds solo-repair).
I gave a reasoning to why I put that perk there. It's for limiting how many u can use of the gen stopping perks. You can't use ALL of them.
That doesn't matter at all. It's not a strong Perk, there is no reason to limit it.

You know, whenever someone starts a thread requesting buffs to Survivor Perks with "I'm a Killer main/high rank Killer/Killer player", it's almost always a Survivor main trying to give themselves a shred of credibility.
-
Only Killers have to commit acts of great violence in order to be pulled into the Entity's Realm. Those atrocities create an entry point in our world, which remains. The Survivors are usually innocent people who wandered into those places.

The Killers have to be human to fit into the lore. Humanoid doesn't cut it.

Dude, they presented those buffs on the Stream and even wrote the rarity changes into both the PTB and the regular Patch Notes.
How could they possibly NOT be aware of it?
If you still get hung up on that, join the DbD Alliance Discord and ask the devs directly. -
It's not an oversight, they are aware of it. However, it's really not that strong an ultra rare Add-on. If it were a one-hit one it would be different.

- Fewer pallets? At best, 1-3 pallets were removed per map and the vast majority of the remaining ones were --changed from unsafe to safe.
Oh yea - like all the double pallets that got removed, certainly a buff to survivors, right?
- All Killer speeds were buffed? In what universe did that happen? The only Killer that got a speed buff was the Shape in Evil Within I, from 4.14 to 4.2m/s. Regular Killers walk at 4.6m/s. Always did and still do.
Sorry - should have phrased this better - all killer action speeds were increased.
Changed Killer vault from 2.667 to 1.5
Killer breaking pallet speed increased by 15%From the patch notes.
- Insta-lights nerfed? Indeed a big nerf, survival rates plummeted to near 0!! sarcasm off
For a period all killers complained about were flashlights, suddenly the flashlights are nerfed, the goal post has changed and now flashlights don't as a nerf?
- Gens now regress to 0%: only when you get lucky and no Survivor taps them and they regress 4x slower than they are repaired.
Oh no - those darn survivors doing their objective, what - do you want the gen to continue regressing while they're on it?
- Exhaustion changes: again, survival rates plummeted to near 0, what a horrid change sarcasm off
Again, killers complaing about exhaustion perks, they get nerfed, goals post has moved, now it doesn't count as a nerf
- BBQ & Chilli has multiple counters. Maybe instead of complaining, you guys could git gud and learn them for -a change.
Are you actually dense? I'm not arguing as to how good o counterable BBQ is - it's a perk that has so many benefits for killers that you'd be dumb not to use it - this is a list of things that Orion wont have used much as he doesn't play frequently, not a "i don't like this in the game" my god you're not at all smart.
- He did play the Huntress and she wasn't the only Killer added in 1.5 years. As I said before, he played most of -them during their releases.
Actually, you said in a separate (this one actually, how have you forgotten mid post? LOL) comment that he didn't play in 1.5 years and only kept tabs on the game and heard about stuff from his friends.
- BNP chances. BNPs were broken and you know it.
Again. killer complain about something, it gets nerfed, goal post is now moved and it doesn't count as a nerf.
- And if you'd spend some time looking up the No Pip Squad, you'd know that fundamental core mechanics of - the game are still broken. No changes so far addressed that
Can we not pretend that you guys are playing against anyone that plays like their team? [BAD WORD] seriously, it's beyond a joke that people think Marths stats means anything.
Playing against the same killers in the same area over and over again - yea, you're sure going to get a lot of variety there, and again - you're not actually that likely to even get a 4man squad anyway.
- If Survivors decide to only focus on rushing gens and getting out, next to no Killer can win a game.
All this reads as - "If survivors play the game they're supposed to I'm just going to continue to whine about it" Yea man, how dare survivors do gens and escape.
You are pitiful and it saddens me to see people so full of bias and dislike towards the other side. We would have way less problems with toxicity if people could just stop being entitled mains and play both sides equally. I'm so tired of feeling like I'm talking to a wall because people miss 50% of the picture.

I had to stop reading as soon as I saw you mention nurse losing her bloodlust who bloodlusts with nurse?and no - killers shouldn't just keep blood lust and gain it from breaking pallets, that's ridiculous.
They're changing maps, and for the better - bloodlust will be gone soon If they continue to improve maps and change pallet placements/quantities.
so you had to stop reading when i explained the current state of the mechanic? i know you don't bloodlust as Nurse. she might as well have a move speed of 85% for how often you actually walk with her.
its been a back and forth nonbalancing act for a long time and the game could use some changes that actually shake up the way you play. make you think differently about your situation. this adds counterplay that high ranks will use and wont change low rank games that much. these are the kinds of changes we need. not just -1 window + 1 pallet here -2 pallets on this map +2 windows on that map. while i agree maps need to be fair i dont think this fixes the core issue. 5 Gens vs 12 hooks(to kill 4 people)
in its current state 2 survivors can finish 1 gen before you get to Bloodlust 3 btw. and yes i know mind games win games...
REALLY!? Cuz bloodlust from pallets and keeping it seems like the only counter play is GET #########. Keep in mind this would only ENCOURAGE looping over actual hiding and LOS breaking.
So if your actions buff the Killer, you, as a thinking human being, believe that the only counter is to continue performing those actions?
Ah yeah, I totally blow a killers mind and hide without using a single pallet, and totally do it under 15 seconds as well!
The pallet would still stun the Killer and force them to either take a detour or break it, and you could also try stealth to avoid getting into a chase in the first place. Pallets would still be useful, they just wouldn't waste so much of the Killer's time.
Steath before a chase is currently ######### tier, and very weak. It needs buff. Same with chase stealth. Looping does need nerfs, but this ain’t how you do it. Also, with enduring a brutal strength, you’ve succefully bought like 4 seconds, which in most maps also is in an open area. Yeah no.
He truly has no idea how to play the game - I just watched one of his twitch vods and witnessed him tunnelling and camping rank 17 survivors.
Yes, I did prevent unhooks and chased injured Survivors while I was at low rank thanks to the rank reset. If you don't like it, you can watch another stream.
I honestly can't take people seriously that go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how hard killer is yet intentionally derank, bully and generally play like trash around rank reset.
What. A. Mess.
and trust me - I don't watch bad players so I assure you I'll be watching someone else.

Those Offerings apply a multiplier to the Bloodpoints you gained in a specific or in any Category and give those as a bonus.
Let's say you made 5000 Bloodpoints in Survival and played a Crispleaf Amaranth Sachet (+50 %). You will receive an additional 2500 (50 %) to the already received 5000 Bloodpoints, totalling at 7500.
In your case, I think you mean the Bloody Party Streamer, it will give you a bonus of 100 % on all Bloodpoints you made in all Categories, effectively doubling your points.

I do like the Curtain Call Theme, but I would have been ok with the original Theme from the MCP onwards.

I can't understand why the ranks aren't visible, either. More often than not, I join a lobby with a swf team with a useless rank 18 player who is boosted by his rank 7 friends and of course the killer destroys us. Or when I play as a rank 8 killer I get swf consisting of rank 8, 2, 3 and 18 (because arithmetic mean). Then again, you can't really expect those developers to think things through, it's just too dificult for them I guess. As was pointed out earlier on: the Survivor Ranks used to be visible.
This lead to a lot of dodging: the Killers dodged high ranked Survivors, low-ranked Survivor dodged lobbies with high-ranked Survivors (assuming a high-ranked Killer) and high-ranked Survivors dodged lobbies with low-ranked Survivors (assuming noob team mates).
Eventually, the complaints about dodging got so out of hand that the devs decided to hide the Ranks outside of KYF lobbies.
That's the main reason Ranks are invisible today.

there are plenty of fix camping threads but is there one that suggests the same idea as mine? i dont see any soooooo........ read my post and respect my wishes and stop being toxicThen you really didn't spend much time doing your research. Your idea has been suggested with countless small variations, but the core idea remained the same: if Killer in radius x around hook, execute anti-camping mechanic y.
As for the PTB in which a slowed Hook regression was tested, that was the very first PTB in September 2016: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Public_Test_Build#PTB_.231_-_September_2016
also maybe one day when heavy looping is fixed they can re-look into this idea since it was tested very early into the game.
The problem wasn't looping.
Survivors would purposefully kite the Killer close to the Hook to get the benefit from the slowed regression.
The devs were quite clear on the matter: no more anti-camping mechanics, only incentives to leave the Hook (Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, BBQ & Chilli, etc)

They usually come paired with the "carry +2" addon, which counters the limitations to it.So?
If that weren't possible, no one would ever use that Ultra Rare.

An updated tutorial honestly wouldn't change much. Many gamers outright ignore tutorials or guides.
And as was pointed out, they definitely aren't the cause as they were added with 2.0.0, meaning officially in June on PC and even later on console. The game has had balance problems ever since early 2017 or even late 2016, depending on the POV.

Freddy isn't bad as such, it's just that he has a lot more mechanics going against him than other Killers and many who play him can't cope with/overcome those.

Killers who camp seem to be a problem. Could the game be modified so the crows immediately were attracted to a hooked victim, but instead of circling the victim could they fly around the killer's head partially blocking his point of view? It is a great game but there seems to be a need for some sort of escape option for players who get hooked and no team mates will free because of face camping killers. Maybe the chance of sliding off the hook increases when the killer is in close proximity to the hook? Maybe the appearing Entity stuns the killer if they are too close to the hook when it appears?Anti-camping mechanics were tested and always abused by Survivors. There won't be any anymore.

The people who did give negative review talked about other things like how they got unfairly banned for blahblahblah, or crying about supposed "lagswitchers". Where is the review bomb about the dlc not coming out?
a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done.
Intention:
a thing intended; an aim or plan.

Ehhh, not to nitpick, but they already broke their own schedule. The Clown was released in mid-June, which was, technically speaking, still Spring. The Spirit should, theoretically, come out before the end of summer (September 21st) rather than Fall. All that being said, I didn't really expect her today. When they released The Clown, they announced the release date for Tuesday, June 12th ahead of time on Friday, June 8th. I feel like there will be an announcement first, like last time. So I'm expecting next week. Or possibly this Thursday.
Those dates are the astronomical seasons. In popular culture, the meteorological seasons are used, which start about 3 weeks sooner at the start of the months.

The whole situation with this dlc is unprofessional at best and disrespectful to your community at worst. I get "hyping up" a game or dlc, but letting a false release date sit for 2 weeks and then beating around the bush with an actual announcement is just bad PR.There was no false release date. There was speculation and nothing more.
There was a date posted on the dbd wiki for 2 weeks. This date was based upon the schedule for clown. A company letting that sit there for 2 weeks and not giving us at least a release date today is "unprofessional at best and disrespectful to your community at worst".
The wiki is not run by the devs, and it was made very clear that it was speculative.
And I was very clear, leaving up a false date on the wiki without a plan to give a date was (say it with me) "unprofessional at best and disrespectful to your community at worst". Bonus points for having their community manager flaunting around the forums saying "soon" to all the hype posts. Maybe she isn't supposed to give us information, but then why is she increasing expectations?
Imagine if they had just said a week ago (or shoot, even 5-6 hours ago) that they have no release date yet, they would've avoided this mess.
None of the devs left a false date on the wiki because they have no control over it. You have based your argument on a faulty premise.
You run a game company and have an upcoming dlc that you know many people are excited for. You see a false release date based on your previous releases pop up on the wiki for your game and decide to NOT correct that date in any way. All the negative emotions that stem from that are directly on the devs, they allowed people to be misled when a small "release date TBA" would've stopped this entire situation. Just because they didn't put the date there doesn't mean their negligence in correcting the date was an "okay" way to handle the ordeal.
They allowed nothing. You assumed a fansite's information was an official statement from the developers - despite the fact that the fansite made it very clear the information was speculative - and are now looking for someone to blame other than yourself. You and only you are to blame for your false assumption.
Careful with the fallacies there, I assumed nothing. I knew the date was speculative, but that doesn't change the fact that it was based on release patterns and left up without any plan to correct the information. To be honest I don't even know why they are letting this happen, it is killing their hype and is going to easily lose them sales.
"Left up" without any plan to correct the information. Correct to what if no further information is available? There was a fat, red "not confirmed" right after the date. If people can't be bothered to read, it's their fault.
The devs are not at fault in this case, solely the community who can't read.
