Trappers defend one area of the map. Usually (if it's an experienced trapper of course), they'll try to carry you to a hook near their area where all their traps are set up. This is beneficial for him, as it increases the likelihood someone will get snapped.

Shimmy and Shammy, Zig and Zag. Fake vaults, lockers. They can all be used to make him go into a tantrum and give you the time you need to run from him. 😎
Don't follow this advice. Don't use lockers. Any good Leatherface will just bump into the locker to force a tantrum then grab you out.

The cooldown is mostly fine, I play her without Add-Ons but you shouldn't really look at the gauge because the sound will tell you when to blink.
But yeah, blinking to the basement while looking up, not being able to hit after a blink, lunge being non existent sometimes. All of these need to go. I also had moments where I charged my blink, looked forward but I still blinked on spot, I didn't go anywhere.
Her bugs are the frustrating part, not her cooldown.
Generally, those no blink spots are referred to as "deadzones." And I think they occur because the game has no idea where to place the Nurse with her blink.

Nice. Tier 3 Myers will be dangerous now.
A T3 Myers...is usually always pretty dangerous lol

I'm so good at Nurse that when I hit a survivor, my Nurse did the wipe animation, then fatigued.
(And yes, that bug still exists.)

Well the 3 second thing was PTB.
But as for the rest, yes we continued to complain until it was changed. And then once it was the problem was solved and we could move on.
We noticed the problems immediately and continued noticing them until they were gone.
Why can't we do that with Nurse?

@HuntressMain said:
Yup, I remember, but what else can you expect from this community?
Remember when ghostface released, too? everyone was saying he was bad lol
He...was bad. You just accidentally pointed your camera at him and his power turned off.

Same for legion when he got the 115 and the massive amount of "nerfs" that same patch. Killer mains will constantly complain about everything just like survivor mains, the game has 2 roles play both of them not just 1 role and then complain about everything regarding it. The game has to be fun for both sides and Billy requiring more skill is apparently gonna make him F tier cuz they don't wanna learn
What? Legion is quite worse than they used to be. Sorry.
All their add ons especially just got nuked from orbit.
-
She's really frustrating to play. But I think the devs have probably noticed by now. At least I hope so.
-
You can still insidious camp.
Just don't hold up your chainsaw charging the whole time.
-
Billy was already one of the higher skill cap killers.
-
The best Billy players do indeed use their saw even against injured survivors. Just because they can, I guess. I respect the M2 Billy's the most anyways.

Why play any killer when Nurse exists? Preference. Different powers fit different play styles.
After her nerfs, this is a bit less relevant.
-
Slinger seems kinda hard to buff.
-
I don't like relying on teammates. But it's also just the Nurse.
She's just really fun to me, even after her egregious nerfs.

Every thread I have ever made has been ignored, so I severely doubt they’ll reply. Sorry.
It's always worth an effort, right?
-
Doesn't change anything.
-
Fixing things, and buffing/changing weaker killers takes time.
The PH nerf was likely done so quickly because PHs would just tunnel and camp cages and that wasn't fun.
-
It never was very strong. And in its current state, basically not worth running at higher ranks since there's so many better options for tracking. Even surveillance imo.
-
Seriously. This add on looks terrible. I hope they're reading this.

Well, from your post it seems like you don’t want to join the dark side of killers, so you probably don’t want to embrace hooking/camping/tunneling lifestyle. In that case your only option is to improve. How you do that is up to you, you can look at external sources and watch guides on how to recognize and run tiles (aka understanding loops) or you can go by trial by error and just play and eat salt till you accumulate the experience.
Basically, the final key to creating another good killer is building killer confidence. When you want to hover around a hook because it’s strategically your best option or you understood you were facing an altruistic team, then your on the right track. Staying with a hook or tunneling because you are afraid of losing what you just earned or afraid of letting every1 go is that lack of confidence I was talking about.
I struggled and failed for awhile too but when I bought Leatherface and unlocked BBQ n Chilli, I stopped trying to 4K and just started going for the 4 tokens. Once I had that, I’d try my best to kill be regardless of the outcome, I knew I was earning the most BP and that makes me feel good even if they all escape. Small victories that are easier to achieve will make the learning curve more bearable and you can periodically up your challenge until you can 4K every game. Maybe one day you’ll be good enough to start handicapping yourself to have a fun game lol.
anyway good luck, hope you can stick with being a killer. It’s not for the easily frustrated xD
How is "hooking" part of the "dark side" of killers it's literally the only way to y'know...kill.
I mean...EGC and Tombstone I guess but whatever.
-
I don't want them to make it ranged based because then on some maps it becomes a basically useless add on.
Just make it not stack with the belt.
-
What changes were made to Billy? They weren't mentioned in balance patch notes.
-
I use a controller on PC, pretty sure it's about the same.
I use about 50% even when playing Nurse and Huntress. I just need it to not be so sensitive.
-
I use a controller on PC. Just try to aim a bit higher.
-
"When a generator is regressing, it can regress 10/14/19% Faster."
Do you know how worthless this is? Gens regress very slowly already and even Ruin, a hex perk regresses gens at 200% SPEED.
"When a survivor hits a good skill check, the generator will lose 1/2/3% while progress."
So like old ruin except not a hex and probably doesn't stop repair progress. Who would run this?

@Huff said:
Not to mention it's within the survivors' control for the most part whether they get tormented or not.
I'm not even saying that it was fun to go against PH that camps and tunnels, but it just baffles me that this is the hot topic right now when there's so much worse things.
Now some people might argue little things like, the distance between him and the cage/how fast he can get to it, or certain things like that, but I think most people can agree that Pyramid Head can't do a lot to force the survivors to step in his trails, and any amount of time that he's spending trying to get you to step on it is time that he could just be downing you instead.
I agree. PH is just not the main topic the community should be focused on right now.
-
That add on looks awful. Not going to lie.
-
That's such an awful challenge. Basically you have to either do poorly or attempt suicide at endgame.

With his new bugs and really bad FOV, I see Billies miss more chainsaws than ever, and we've had to put up with these bugs for, what, 3 months now? Even with that, playing as addonless Billy can be pretty difficult because he's not amazing without add-ons unless you have something else that can help you. Using engravings and charge add-ons turns him into a completely different killer. Curving without add-ons is really hard to do well so don't worry if you're not able to get it consistently, it can take a lot of practice, and sometimes just plain luck that the survivor is in the right place.
Today I had a survivor unhook right in front of my face. My chainsaw connected with them but didn't down them and it cost me the game bcuz BT/DS/Unbreakable.
Absolutely not fun that Billy has this awful bug.

Here, https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117488, we explained why we changed Ruin. Here is the short version, quoted from that article. It's quoted, but the order of these reasons means nothing. They're just randomly ordered. So the claims that "we changed it because the noobs screamed about it" isn't really true. :)
--------------
We took a close look at the perk to identify what makes it so frustrating to play against. Three key issues were identified:
- Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better.
- The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer.
- Its inconsistency due to the random nature of the appearance interval of skill checks.
You're way out of touch with the game. Why do you think everyone was running ruin in red ranks? Could it be...gen speeds??? Noooo. Couldn't be.
-
As long as DS gets to exist in its current state, so should noed.
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
No.
Here's a DS nerf.
Go for the unhooker. Keep track on who's been unhooked. Count to 60. Go for someone else.
And before you give me "What if" situations, "WHAT IF you just went for someone else besides the person that was unhooked recently."
I know it may be shocking but there are 4 survivors in the trial.
Letting a survivor run free for 60 seconds is a great way for me to lose a gen. Play the other side. Especially if they act like an idiot to make me slug them, and then just have Unbreakable anyways.

@BigBrainMegMain said:
[insert generic DS nerf here for obvious upvotes from bad killers]
Looking at your name, I'm guessing you've never even laid a finger on killer lol.
-
I'm not sure why you'd wanna do this anyways. But yes, it should immediately put them to sleep permanently.

Does the deep wound timer not go down if you are in the terror radius, or what? Before it was just didn't go down in a chase. Now whenever I afflict deep wound, it never goes down.
Buddy it's been a LONG time since that change was made. If they're mending, or in your terror radius the timer stops.

I find it kind of weird that when you die in one the box just kinda stays there with your dead body.

Don't think she really needs anymore changes.

And many times a killer has abused their ability to Camp and forced others survivors off their objective, so what's the difference here?
Play both sides. That's all I can say.

@Tricks said:
This entire thread is only about one thing: "Nerf Tunneling"
If Killer doesn't tunnel, DS is a wasted perk slot.
lol. just lol.
Many times have I hooked another survivor, after a decent chase, then found another guy who was injured and downed them, and then got DSed.
ONE single DS is plenty to remove your entire pressure and make you lose.

The devs also thought that nerfing gen speeds when multiple people are on a gen is the answer to gen speeds being considered too fast.
And they also thought that Ruin being used so much means it needed a nerf, rather than actually pay attention to gen speeds. We get it.
-
No way that perk is broken.
-
@SavouryRain said:
Almost all of these are bad ideas. I'm happy that y'all aren't devs.
The only good ideas here are: A) Make it count twice as fast whilst doing an objective (here, an objective is being in any situation where you can be grabbed whilst doing it. Healing/being healed are not objectives). B) Shorten the timer, but make the timer stop counting down while in a chase/downed.
B is the superior choice, as it actually punishes the killer for tunneling while also making it so that survivors don't have a minute of being MC Hammer, but A would do in a pinch. Adjusting times without giving a benefit is dumb, and making it so that if you're healed it deactivates is worse. That's a massive nerf, and wouldn't actually stop anything. No, correction, all it would do it make it so that the killer would just wait for them to be healed.
Apparently, I can't remember where, the devs have stated before that it isn't really an anti tunnel perk?
So it shouldn't punish the killer for tunneling.

@Mr_executioner said:
I agree with this I made a version for the perk myself that would make it so much better
After kicking a generator, you become undetectable for 45 seconds. During this time your movement speed is increased by 3/4/5%.
I removed the generator aura reveal and removed the cooldown this would make this perk amazing
That's WAYYY too much. You do understand how potent movement speed is in dbd right? Even 3% is enough to completely ruin balance.
-
@SnakeSound222 said:
Deactivates when the Survivor interacts with something, another Survivor is hooked, or the gates are powered.
Absolutely not. Imagine touching a gen and that deactivates your perk.
Just slug them for 60 seconds if you don't wanna eat their 5 second stun.

@Peanits said:
It might not be your aim. Might be a silly question, but when are you trying to blind them? If you try to blind them as they're running towards you, chances are you're not going to be able to blind them. You can only blind someone if they're looking at you within a certain angle, so they could just turn sideways or look up or down to avoid the flashlight. Ideally you'll want to blind them when they're locked into something, like picking up a survivor, breaking a pallet, or vaulting a window.
If you are blinding them when they're locked into an action, you may want to keep an eye out for any obstacles. You can see over things like crates, but you hold the flashlight way down by your torso. If something's blocking the beam, it won't blind.
(I also wouldn't completely rule out Lightborn, but it's pretty rare.)
I ran Lightborn the other day vs 3 flashlights. LOTS of easy downs.
-
I don't know. I blinded a huntress while she was reloading hatchets the other day.
