I know I know, ANOTHER FNAF post, but I've seen about 50 posts about DS or Moris so I'm sure it's fine. I just want to go over a few unfair arguments that I've seen go against Springtrap.
"The FNAF story is too shallow to fit into DBD." Compared to what exactly? You're telling me that TCM, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Halloween have rich and deep stories? TCM is literally "teenagers in my house? chainsaw go brrrrr".
"It would bring all the Fortnite kids to the game." Lets not forget that Ninja played this game for a week straight and stopped because his viewers preferred Fortnite. Also little kids would get mauled by the games steep learning curve.
"its cringe and would bring the cringe FNAF fans." Yeah like the DBD community didn't have Silent Hill rule 34 only TWO HOURS after the announcement(Being careful of who I follow on Twitter now...). Most of the "10 year old FNAF fans" are mid-late teens now, which is a healthy demographic to get into the game since it'll help the games longevity.
"Not really scary enough to fit. It would kill the immersion" Pretty opinionated, but I'm sure everyone is shaking in their boots when Trapper, Legion, Ghostface, Huntress, Pig, or Bubba are walking up on them. Also immersion is pretty dead when survivors stop taking the game seriously to boop the Pigs snoot or to offer themselves to basement Bubba.
"FNAF is just jump scares, it wouldn't fit in DBD." Wraith, Ghostface, Michael, Pig, basement Bubba, and HAG want to know your location. The devs don't have to be limited to just jump scares when designing his power.
"The killer lore is too bad, its literally just a guy in a suit." Springtraps lore is more scary and sinister than Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, and Legion. I know his kill count is low, but if was never confined to his suit, he would've most likely gone down the same path similar to Clown and just murdered children his entire life.
Those are the main ones I can think of off the top of my head while I'm fighting morning killer queue times, but im open to discussion.
This game doesn't have a steep learning curve.
Infact, dead by daylight has one of the lowest skill ceilings I've ever seen in a competitive PvP game.

I don't think you read/understood what I wrote.
I'm saying BT should work on the person getting unhooked if they are running it. BT should only activate on the person getting unhooked, I'm not suggesting they revert it.
It would still be too big of a buff since every survivor and their mother would have free endurance on every unsafe unhook.
-
Typically when I see a OoO player who also tbags all the time and clicks their flashlight and stuff I just ignore them as much as possible.
-
No.
BT used to activate for both parties when it was used, and was beyond broken. If they do this, they bring back the grey screen and bleedout time that you had to heal away with self care or a medkit. (Or another person of course.)
-
The devs would probably make a joke of an add on like this so...a Billy add on!
The Iridescent Saw- Tremendously reduces movement speed. (-15%). Tremendously reduces chainsaw movement speed. (-50%). Chainsaw hits instantly kill survivors.
-
It did, just recently at high levels you can begin choosing 2 perks instead of just one!
Wow! Amazing!

Most of u on the forums complain about how survivor sided it is I get that well I saw a post where they want a meta change because they are tired of being Ds or Bt or unbreakable but if you want survivors to stop running those perks don't camp bt won't activate. Don't tunnel ds will run out and don't slug unbreakable won't work. Simple u want a meta change U change meta.
Slugging is a smart strategy, used to slow the game down whenever gens begin to go way too fast.
It also punishes bad plays. Stop acting like slugging is some sort of toxic crime for killers to be doing. Sometimes, it's the best choice. Along with camping and tunneling. Sometimes those are the optimal plays.
-
So you want survivors to be allowed to unhook with literally no consequences?
-
Let's not make this a war against killers and survivors. They don't make the emblem system.
Ever seen a tombstone Myers 4k? They almost always depip. Also 0 altruism with 2 hook saves? You did some unsafe hooks.
-
I play with controller on PC and hit most of my shots. He's pretty good.
Also all killers have to abide by the add on set rule. Surprised nobody mentioned this. He can't have 3 URs lol.
-
Well written.

so you want to make it literally useless?
i dont see any Deathslinger who runs the Iridescent Coin. its extremely bad and honestly should be reworked into something entirely else - and it especially should NOT be taken as a balancing standart for new Add Ons.
so in short: no.
please stop asking for an Iri Head nerf, the Add On itself is fine the way it is - actually, its pretty bad. like, you trade the ability to down two and injure a third just to be able to down one instantly. thats a direct downgrade from stock, damage wise.
the only thing that is too strong here is the Iridescent Head when combined with the Infantry Belt. this COMBINATION of Add Ons needs to be nerfed, not just the one that allows for the insta down.
so why not make it so that Iri head actually sets the amount of hatchets to two and caps it at that?
that way its not as bad as it currently is, but you could also not combine it with the Infantry Belt to make it overpowered.
I usually side main slinger and can confirm, god no one uses the coin. 15m is plenty of space for a survivor to easily wiggle out of your chain.

Here is the thing. It really doesn't.
It seems to me that at some point (maybe around when Discordance came into the picture) survivors started to spawn together more often than not.
I can only speak for experience, but I actually stopped using Shroud Of Binding offerings anymore because I didn't need them anymore. The ability to do a gen that fast when the whole team spawns together and the killer (is out of luck) and checks the wrong gen. Why wouldn't it? It would be the same as a survivor running into the killer (by accident) and immediately going down after.
The fact is everyone has experienced a generator being finished before initiating a chase (I have too). It doesn't mean that gen speed times are broken. Because by that philosophy they would have to brutally nerf perks that slow gen times. I didn't want to deal with a Forever Freddy before because of how excessive his slow down is, so why would I agree that he should be able to slow down the game even more?
Clearly you were not being gen-rushed in the video and it was just bad luck because if had you gone there first, you would have had the advantage of not letting them finish. The game works like that in many scenarios.
Survivors have a likelihood of spawning one of three ways iirc.
All 4 seperate. All 4 together. Or in pairs.
Usually, you're more likely to spawn with teammates cuz of this.

There are plenty of killers who enjoy shack. I'm one of them. I find it's one of the more consistently fair and interactive tiles to play.
Slinger pfp...of course you love shack!
-
Did someone seriously say that Michael Myers was forgotten about?
Maybe with the younger generation, FNAF seems more iconic because your mommy doesn't let you watch movies like Halloween, but Michael Myers is definitely way more iconic and talked about then a character like Springtrap.

Bet it's mainly Killers whining about this. I highly doubt you'd be whining about teammates DCing, because majority are useless when playing Solo queue. At this point though, as long as I'm getting slugged/camped/farmed or it's obnoxious Legion I'll DC. I'll gladly take that depip than go against the most obnoxious killer in the game that people think is cool lmao.
Slugged?
Why would you DC over that?
Only situation where any player should DC, is object on Midwich. That's it. It's awful.

i get it, baby survivors complain that hillbilly is too oppressive and needs a nerf but honestly he didnt even need to be touched. Any good player will tell you that and are probably dying inside right now. I dont even play hillbilly and this upsets me. Like honestly! i wanna know the devs thought process is. Are you really on our side? It feels like this is a giant waste of time and resources that couldve been used on buffing weak killers or something other than Nerfing another one. #Stopnerfingkillers Wheres wraiths cooldown, he can go invisible and sneak up on us too often, you should add a cooldown. once every 30 seconds he can go invisible. I mean its only fair, he gets a movement speed increase too.
Your title was okay, you may have even had a point. But then you immediately said "baby survivors" and your argument became invalid.
-
FNAF isn't nearly as iconic as people would like to believe it is. I genuinely don't think it'll be remembered 20 years from now as well as Silent Hill or Halloween.

Even in the video shown just one normal map roaming sprint costed the billy OVER HALF of his over heat meter.
So from what we have been shown his mobility will be gutted pretty hard if he cant' even do 2 chainsaw sprints without overheating.
We didn't get to see how fast it cools down naturally when you aren't using it. We really can't know how this plays out for 2 more days.

Close.
-
Aren't prestige cosmetics just the same but bloody? I never have been impressed with them and it's why I only ever P3 my Nurse, since she's my main.
-
Billy's mobility isn't being changed really. You won't even enter cooldown if you're mid sprint. This is mostly a chase potential nerf.

Isn't Adiris just straight up the tallest character in-game?
Possibly tied with Huntress if she didn't tilt her head or slouch.
I think it's Wraith actually.

"They were in works of a beginning game collapse of sorts"...
To be totally honest, this does not sound promising. In winter they said that they are going to buff/rework Vigil, Any Means Neccesary and other Survivor perks. Did they release the changes after almost 6 months?
It's more promising than you might think.
At least now killers might actually get 1 chase in before 2 gens pop.
-
URs typically aren't direct upgrades, they're more like sidegrades (or trash). Most of them come with a downside or very specific activation methods. So I don't think they'd fit as items other than Rainbow Map, and Rainbow Map could honestly just be a Very Rare.
-
Birkin.
-
So you want a mostly mid tier killer to get nerfed?
-
I'm not going to play on Midwich vs Object. You just can't make me >:(.

@Kira15233 said:
I legit got it first or second try, it was easy, just get a 4-man group, wait until someone is downed then hide close to the killer...easy, now I'm working on the Kate Denson challenge, the one I have to escape whilst death hook, this is a more difficult challenge imo
Just hope for a farming killer.
-
@Boss said:
Maybe they think they can be even happier with him by doing this.
Yeah, it'll please survivors and they'll buy lots more cosmetics. /s
-
I wouldn't be surprised if base huntress got a nerf.

I am really enjoying what they’re doing with these perks, but I am a bit concerned about lightborn, I mean there is no counterplay. But then again using a perk shot cause of an item that my not work or be triggered is a big risk.
I mean i’m sure surviours will bait lightborn and insta swap off of flashlights?
Meh well we will see how it goes. That’s what the PTB is for.
Survivors already do bait Lightborn lol. My swf made a killer DC at loading screen because of this.
-
Perks CAN be toxic. For example, Red Herring + Repressed Alliance build.
First, do a gen for 3 seconds with a teammate then get in a locker. If the survivor is smart they'll probably go hide, but if not they got confused and seconds later the killer is on them.
Later in the match, when a gen is ALMOST done, block it off with repressed alliance.
Edit: please don't do this to your teammates.
-
@Aneurysm said:
They're usually very easy to counter. Even without a wall around, if you suspect or know there's someone with one nearby once you've downed someone, go and stand over them for a second and the most eager ones will try and get into position. If nothing, just change direction, pick them up and hope for the best. If you want to be really sure, leave them slugged and have a quick look around.
What's hilarious to do is fake placing a portal as demo.
-
Dude, you might need to chill. It isn't that bad. Things will be okay.
(Although I kinda do agree, old Freddy was one of my favorite killers to play. And where's your Nurse mention?)
-
It really isn't that bad of a nerf especially compared to Nurse.
Poor baby girl...rest in peace.
-
DbD has had no effect on my overall mental health state.
That's just always been bad...
-
@gunslingers_potatoe said:
Billy is a high mobility, insta-down killer that really doesnt have a big punishment for unwisely using his power. Like for real, Pyramid Head has a hella long recovery after using his ranged attack, that only damages 1 health state if I may add. Yeah, wait and test it, then start giving feedback. If somehow this change comes out as huge problem, the devs wont be able to properly colect the feedback, because there are people complaining just because they dont like the idea of something being changed, and not necessarily because that change itself is bad .
Remember when the devs listened to everyone about Nurse and her add ons? But instead of not doing anything they actually nerfed her add ons even more from PTB because they recovered too fast?
-
It's already a good perk.
This is kinda just a change I wanted to see. Blinding a killer who has Lightborn as it is, is basically impossible unless you start really early or they mess up real bad and just stare at you.
Taking up one of your 4 precious perk slots tho, probably won't use it except vs flash squads.

@Aven_Fallen said:
How fking small do you want Maps to be? o_O
Not Ormond size. That's for sure.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
It's not that all killers need to be high skill, it's just that they should be REALITVE TO THEIR EFFECT, and Hillbilly had abserd mobility, map pressure and an easy to use instant down. He was TOO EASY to pick up and play for what he had.
Trapper? Yeah, he's more of a knowledge based killer as in where you place your traps and what-not, but he's easy to play mechanically and those who are fantastic with him, such as Otz, are very skilled mentally for this game but it isn't required.
Survivors also have zero handholding. Devs even say that just deleting them is perfectly OK, and they have to work out everything themselves while also managing 3 other people. Killers as a whole can care more about the 1v1 than the 4v1 and still do really well, where as survivors can't.
He definitely wasn't easy vs good survivors.

@HEXSLAYER999 said:
Get over it. ######### nerfs happen to everyone. Look at ds. Even now with how situational (active for a couple of seconds after being unhooked) killers still complain.
Its strictly a one time anti tunneling perk that can be countered by slugging and leaving alone till timer runs out.
As for lack of play. I prefer playing survivor but with all the nerfs they got and how many survivors play without skill its not worth it.
EVERYONE LOVES BEGGING TO NERF SOMEONE ELSE'S MAIN
HOWEVER nobody likes having their mains nerfed.
DS is quite literally one of, if not the strongest perk in the game. Hell, it may be even stronger than it used to be in some people's eyes.
Edit: for clarification, I'm fine with DS how it is. But it is damn strong.
-
It's always okay to facecamp. It just might be boring for you and the survivor and a bit scummy.
-
SWF is so common at high ranks, it's best to just assume that your match will include a 2 man at minimum.
-
Oh no! I can't tunnel someone relentlessly til they're dead with literally NO way for them to escape! This killer SUCKS!

Survivor is easy and boring. I prefer killer, but with all that's stacked against you, it's getting pretty hard. I also play on ps4.
I don't know man...I play 50/50. Both sides have their difficulties. Especially solo queue surv at higher ranks.
-
How long we thinking? Base, maybe 10-15 seconds of stamina?
Oh also, forgot. Fast vaulting is probably tiring, lifting your whole body with one arm and all. It should drain a chunk of stamina.

Something tells me you've never even touched survivor dude, chill.
-
Mainly for me it's maps. Today I saw two survs on a gen across the map, I'm Bubba. How am I supposed to defend that? Chase wasn't even that long either.
Edit: map was Ormond. Pretty big.

What a worthless thread.
