Since Billy's Mobility is being destroyed...
Since Billy's map control is getting taken away can we expect survivors too soon have to start finding gas cans to start generators?
I mean you're starting to take away Killers Mobility while also making the maps bigger and harder to patrol generators on.
Comments
To be fair - aside from the new map which is just a horses ass in terms of balance, they've actively been making maps smaller.
Billy's mobility isn't being changed really. You won't even enter cooldown if you're mid sprint. This is mostly a chase potential nerf.
Billy's mobility hasn't been touched, he can still do multiple laps of the map without stopping. Hell with the rate shown on the video you can still move from one opposite corner to the other, stop, come back and only THEN overheat.
Hell if anything your point is "the devs SHOULD bring Billy's mobility to the level of other killers so maps can be better balanced rather than having one insanely mobile killer breaking them all."
Even in the video shown just one normal map roaming sprint costed the billy OVER HALF of his over heat meter.
So from what we have been shown his mobility will be gutted pretty hard if he cant' even do 2 chainsaw sprints without overheating.
We didn't get to see how fast it cools down naturally when you aren't using it. We really can't know how this plays out for 2 more days.
From what we've heard, it won't matter mid-sprint and you *GASP* use your hammer instead! But noooooo, why should I use my WEAPON like every other killer, especially when half the perks in the game are related to it?
FFS, can we all wait until the PTB before making any snap-judgements? Please?
I think its more the chainsaw revving positioning was nerfed, as revving speeds up the overheating pretty fast compared to the sprint. But yes, map mobility will be "slightly" touched as you cant revv in quick sucession to move around obstacles between the sprints around the map. Too bad "slightly" has become such a keyword for us.
Didnt the presented video use addons not shown in the dev update? Until ptb we cant even tell how bad the default overheat and overheat cooldown is.
this is a huge nerf to billy, i played mainly billy on the killer side, this will effect curving billy, i honestly think this nerf is biased, but lets see the addons etc, maybe he will still be viable, but not as he used to be, and u cant put pressure on 4 men at ones with infectious anymore since the saw is #########.
Did people watch a different video then me or something. He did quite a long sprint and that cooldown didn't even reach halfway.
Do Billy mains do 2 laps around the map before they chainsaw survivors or something?
We all know the Billy nerf were coming and i for one am glad that it's as minimal as this and we get better addons. He might very well be buffed all things conciddert
Chainsaw rev is ~30% and the sprint itself overheats slower than the rev:
Chainsaw Sprint for 7 seconds ~15%
We dunno if they're gonna keep these values, but potentially you can sprint for ~33 seconds (70% of his powerbar) before the cooldown starts.
Cooldown: around 16-20 sec:
I think its going to be fine, you usually dont sprint for >30s. I guess they killed the drift king, if moonshine doesnt reduce the overheating :( I think his general mobility wont be affected, but rev'ing around loops :(
No yeah...like Dead Dawg Saloon right?
And then Midwich.
Yeah, 2 recent small maps? Amiright?
Sarcasm aside they only made 5 maps smaller out of all of these.
My issue is not one long sprint but you sprinting between different generators looking for survivors thus concurring the rev up heat and the sprint heat twice over.
Billy's biggest strength is the ability to check areas of the map quickly by revving then sprinting towards a gen, likely needing to cancel and then revving and sprinting to another. From just the vod it takes about 25-30% overheat to start a sprint, then it slowly fills more as you sprint, the sprint went about 25% of the map and the overheat was around 50% filled by the time he hits Dwight. If there was noone there he would've had to cancel and rev - sprint again. If his next gen choice has noone on it he no longer has his sprint available, and if he had found someone he doesn't have his power as an option to down as it will be on cd for 15ish seconds.
On a less open map his mobility is absolutely gutted because he can no longer do short sprints to quickly cover some distance unless he absolutely 100% knows he's finding someone.
Billy is losing tons of mobility options, especially for the early parts of the game where the gens are spread and he is searching for people. It's honestly pretty obvious and I can't see how you don't understand this.
now that Billy has been nerfed, they must address Huntress inifnite range, no way they gonna take away Billy mobility and then leave the Huntress with cross map hatchet ability.
Huntress range will be next, she should also have charge bar when holding hatchet so she cant stand there like Bubba revving chainsaw waiting for unhook. ;)
I'm sorry, I don't get what you are saying.
Midwich and Saloon are small or not?
Because I'm pretty sure the Saloon is one of the smallest maps.
Saloon is enormous.
Midwich might look small but you'll put it the same amount of steps as any other large map.
"Saloon is enormous"
Are you joking?
Saloon is so damm small
And there are most likely more coming. (@SunaIIanu ) Btw Dead Dawg Saloon is the second smalles map in the game, only Coal Tower is smaller since they made it smaller with the patch you screenshotted
His mobility is not taken away, it gets a bit cut. He has still better mobility than old nurse and I think this is still fine. You had no chance to open gates against Billy and BBQ Billy gets into new chases as fast as BBQ Freddy. I think "taken away" is seriously not the right term. "Balanced" would be my pick, and that is what the game needs. Currently he does, as YOU said, have TONS of mobility options like no other killer. I would almost call him omnipresent. The only time where you don't have to expect him zooming into your back is when he is in a chase with someone else
According to the dbd wiki, saloon is joint 15th place with Rancid Abbattoir at 136 tiles. The only map smaller is Coal Tower, at 132. Midwich has yet to be updated on there.

It's literally removing his mobility after you use it twice. It's literally being "taken away" with the overheat mechanic in the same way your exhaustion perks are taken away while exhausted. Billy is far from an unstoppable killer, nobody even puts him as #1 on their tier list, he's always at best 3 or 4 and he's only that way in the hands of a very good player. He's the high tier killer with probably the most counter play to.
@Doddle28 already linked you the wiki so I don't have to.
And I think the outskirts of that map are really bare (opposed to the swamp for example, were a gen can spawn right at the wall) so that makes it even smaller.
I think it's hard to extimate midwich's size because it's an indoor map and has a second floor, but you're right, the Layout sucks, but that not necessarily Behaviour's fault, maybe the license holder insisted on it.
It's literally disabling it for like 14 seconds after you already made use of it twice. That's something different than removing mobility.
Can't compare that to exhaustion (which is also just on cooldown btw not taken away) because these perks are not 14 seconds cooldown but 40-60 seconds and you can just use them once, not at least twice and you definitely have no way of resource management to have the ability always in place when you need it.
He is still the killer with highest mobility
THE saloon is small yeah, I know.
I know THE SALOON is small. =]
I literally said "besides the horses ass that is the last map". Perhaps read, and then garner a response. You make a habit of conveniently ignoring things and then not responding when you're put in your place. Repeatedly. You've only made yourself look silly, yet again. Pipe down.
Aside from the new map, Saloon is also an insanely open map with fairly high visibility, and a low (very low) amount of safe pallets.
Go ahead, keep being facetious. I'll shut your arrogance down every time.
