You get the maps anyway, so you're only missing the Survivor and his/her associated Perks, I believe. Unless they show up on the Shrine... which, of course, also costs shards.
-
I think they should change default hair, it always looked off for a young college -aged gamer to adopt that kind of sloppy mop-head. Although if they made it less stiff and thinned it a bit, it would be cool, watching it sway and such.
-
It works best when you follow people around, letting them do things faster? I haven't had a chance to see it in-game yet.
-
Why are Survivors always so keen to call out lockers? Hiding in a locker was never easy, especially now with the new Perk against it. If you can pull off the locker escape, you deserve it! Let them have their fun, don't /point at them.
-
That's how I play, total stealth if possible. I'm at that stage were I play a lot but I'm not a master evader who can run the killer around. I enjoy the hide&seek aspect of the game, which is why the concept of sneaking around a killer that can destroy me easily is more intense than running all over.
Although it does remind me of that scene in The Sandlot...
-
Yeah I really don't think this is a BloodPoint event, it's a Coin event and you're doing what you can to get the coins. Which is fine, if there's neat cosmetics to gain what you want are Coins, as you get BP from normal play anyway. I mean, I don't as Killer, since they have to leave to get their Coin progress, but at least I'm helping someone?
-
I got The Spirit twice in a row. But my main Killer is Spirit so it was okay =D
-
Well, most would say to watch the hooked target with the gates unlocked in order to catch people at the end and guarantee that hook sacrifice. If they're on the other side, though, they might try to stay and see, giving you time to go and either get them or scare them out. I'd leave the hook and let some brave person rescue, since often people just run out expecting a facecamp.
I also play Survivor a lot more so I understand the feeling of being that last hook, watching with no hope as teammates run through the exit. People are genuinely surprised when the killer leaves the last victim to chase exit gate operators. I feel like if you're at least trying to prevent them from opening the gates, you're doing your job as killer.
-
It sounds like someone didn't know how the objectives work. Sure the hatch is an easy way, but there were still generators left. Any survivor in that situation would realize the killer would camp the hatch. Sounds like you had a win for the ages. I wish we could see the vid!
-
Don't let people see this...
-
Yeah I don't like how the event is dependent on objectives that can be taken far from your control. I wish simply playing during the event was enough, say if you got a bunch of points for generators, or hooks, and that was it. Most games work like that I think, and in MMOs you just do a low-level quest or two and can gain rewards. I don't think they should just be given for logging in, but it's going to be very difficult for even average players to earn all rewards (and maybe that's the point) but since they're also available in store, it seems like this was to encourage people to just make a purchase rather than play the game.
And again, they gave Feng lipstick, making the Huntress choice easy. At least I only have one outfit to work toward, the rest of you have two or three interests!
-
If you argue why Survivors run around a pallet until they have to break it, rather than just dropping it once and going on, it's to buy as much time possible for the team to work on gens. The Survivors are trying to complete them all and escape, but if the chase only lasts a few moments, their chances reduce greatly.
Ever since the beginning (or close to it) chasing a single survivor is the worst thing a Killer can do. Break off and find someone else. If they run after the same guy, that person goes from pallet to pallet, but if someone else starts getting chased, they don't know which pallets are still around and may be unable to find any. I never run around more than twice, but I also never last very long in a chase unless I can lose them (which is always an exciting moment).
-
I've been playing Killer to take up some slack, but no one wants to touch the last two gens! They're running around with sparkles just camping the gates, you see more crows than you do gen completions. You have to practically force them to finish!
-
I also believe it means "Watch out! Killer is in area!"
-
No, some of them are basic, sure, but memorizing every pallet/totem in every variant of every map? That's crazy. I've played lots of hours on several systems and still don't know all of them, but to expect everyone to distract the killer for all five gens is just silly. And often, you start getting chased halfway through a match only to find all the pallets are already gone. I get that a lot of players have many more hours than me, and can run around for a while, but I'm not at that level yet, though it's still easy for me to hit Rank 1.
I think if you're working on gens, evading the killer as best you can, and assisting teammates, this means you're a good player. You don't have to escape just to rank up (like how it is now).

Got all my characters rigged up with the same loadout just incase of an accidental switch. You did that just because of this issue? Wow, it's too bad it can't be shut off in the menu, imagine getting everyone the same perks/items just in case you swap by accident! I prestige a character and then they stay at 1 for a while until everyone (I care about) catches up. Right now I have one Survivor at 40, one at 10, and the rest at 1. *or P1, I have a few Prestiged.
-
Why do people ruin others' games like this? It's worse to deny them progress in a timed event. How have society and your own families failed you to this degree?
-
I'm a Feng, and I don't like the new outfit only because it adds lipstick. If only I could take that off... I'll be getting the Huntress outfit instead. I'm switching to Killer for the event so people can actually get games, and have someone not destroy their Lanterns. I did a bunch of games yesterday. I did not break 20 points ~_~
-
Wait so a Survivor escaping with the Lantern gives every Survivor the bonus points? Wow, that's pretty good...
-
How many Lanterns are in a match? Can each Survivor get one, or is it only 3?
*Provided the Killer (as myself) does not destroy any? -
I really hope it does. A lot of people might say "after X amount of years, with a somewhat flagging playerbase, the game will die." Yet I adore this style of game, and there's nothing like it anywhere else don'tmentionFriday, so I really hope if it goes away there will be a sequel. Also I don't have access to that "other" version, or I'd probably play that too!
-
I hate chasing people across the map with my Botany 3. Most of the time they Self-Care with you right there waiting, completely oblivious to you, but sometimes I just let them run. It's a waste for us both to run around without doing Gens. Even cleansing dull totems is more worthwhile than two people running to safety when not in a chase.
-
This post comes off as hostile, and many of your points aren't worth of anyone Rank 1. For instance, it's incredibly easy to hit R1 as a Survivor on consoles, and hitting skill checks can be difficult without that sweet PC framerate. Unless you meant exclusive to PC, in which case each player is allowed to play at their own pace and you can't expect everyone to be gods at a casual game just because you play more and want to win.
-
Do Survivors only get points for gens they have completed? They don't automatically gain points for 5 after surviving, do they?
-
There are a lot of things I think bend the game a bit, considering there was one foundation it was built on (Two hits down, hide & seek, etc). Yet we have killers right off the bat that can down you in one hit, survivors who can heal themselves and thus don't rely on teamwork, more and more perks developed not for hiding from enemies but for spotting them across the map, and some which turn a clearly new player into a deadly adversary. No perk should guarantee any outcome, and I still wish for a mode without perks (though I know it would favor the Killer pretty well, although isn't that sort of the point?) The match is supposed to be thrilling, not leading the Killer around for another run and then laughing the whole time.
-
No one is, we're waiting for an update and just saving our Event envelopes until further notice.
-
You realize he can still down Survivors, right? His power only works while active. He can still attack normally. You don't have to activate the power every time you see someone, indeed it works on a meter so you won't always have it. You can just attack.
-
Please go watch the stream where this is discussed. Many of you are taking this out of context only on what other people have said. He never said it was fine for any Killer to be weak; he said they can't make every Killer more powerful than Billy/whatever last Killer to get an update. He said Legion has a different playstyle and is a fun way to play the game.
And any Killer can win. Some have different styles, and some are a little easier with insta-downs and quick attacks (Nurse, Huntress). The new Killer hasn't had a chance yet to the public aside from a small amount of Beta testers and thinking you need to play any one Killer just to get kills is ridiculous. Give Legion a chance.

There are plenty of good Perks to use. Remember when the game came out and Aura Perks were few and far between? Being able to find Survivors won't help if they can still escape you. They already have to go to the Gens, so it's easy to find some just by checking them all. I know that doesn't help catching them but I think people are becoming a bit too reliant on Auras and current meta Perks now.

devs need to stop catering to every survivors little demands and give killers the pwer we deserve were not feared anymore now were just laughed atThe Survival rate is <50%. I'd say Killers are in a pretty good spot.
As for the power level of the Killer, this was addressed in a recent stream. They're not doing an arms race where every Killer is a bit more powerful than Billy/Nurse, and every old Killer tweak gets even better. It's about a different style of gameplay and having a fun Killer to play.
Any Killer can get kills. Some just do so differently or have a higher success rate, perhaps it's a little easier. You can win with anyone. And isn't variety a good thing to have?

Corn fields are a horror standard. There are lots of movies that feature corn field hunts or desperate chases. I think the map system is a little off with randomness, though it's hard to prove. I once had Haddonfield three times in a row with no Offerings, then another map, then Haddonfield again. This happened almost the same on another system.
I wish newer maps would get a higher % to show up naturally, and then degrade over time so they're cycled in evenly with all the maps. This can help solve cases where maps have multiple variants and you keep getting the same setting several times in a row as well.

Honestly, what surprises me most about the announcements so far is that we got another male survivor. What?! Ugh!
-
I think some of these changes would break the game. Killers need some more power, I agree, but there has to be some manner in which a Survivor can escape the Killer. Between Scratches, Bloodlust, and new Aura perks, how easy are you trying to make it? Not every Survivor has memorized pallet locations or even knows which have been dropped already.
-
Most of the DLC is licensed, and requires money to purchase anyway. You cannot buy the movie characters with Shards. At least, I didn't check...
-
Wouldn't you rather have Devotion levels mean something?
-
While I don't think it can ever get that "horror" type of scare once you have enough playtime, I do think it should favor the Killer a bit, so coming across him is scary to your sense of survival.
-
What harm does it do to give others a second event? They're not on the same platform, so they can't use the extra points on new content that makes them stronger in competition with you. It wasn't their fault your update was delayed, and I think events (like the Shrine) are tied in to all systems, so it's all or nothing. If they want PS4 to have a second event, everyone gets it.

The final argument among PC vs. ConsolePlease post this all over the internet. We will all benefit.

Ohh, but I believe the hooked people already glow Red. If it's an aura reading perk, you could have it highlight the Killer instead, so people know it's nearby. It would still work only for people with the perk, and would take up a slot for something else, reducing Survivor escape/perk options for balance. I think it would work.
-
Do you mean if the Killer is near the hooked Survivor, their aura grows even brighter, alerting you to Killer's presence?

he's still better than Wraith! xDMaybe you guys don't play him properly, but when I'm Wraith I often get all four of them out of my map. It takes a while but eventually I can get them to leave, and I'm always the highest rank so I know I'm doing good.

Beach Party DLC $14.99
-
The Survivors aren't really tied to the Killers, though. They're just coincidental releases. At least, in some cases. I thought you would suggest something based on the individual, as many have mentioned: Claudette has faster healing, Dwight enters Lockers faster, etc.
-
It sounds awesome, but it's twice as much work on developer side, with two different models. Unless you meant they were identical twins, both androgynous models with different hairstyles... I don't know what you meant, but either way it's a neat idea (perks might need tweaking for balance).
It works for me as a Gemini, I don't have a twin but instead dual personalities, and we both agree this is neat.

I think that if all Survivors are in the dying state for a certain amount of time and none of them can get back up on their own, the game should automatically end, and all Survivors die simultaneously. You wouldn't account for wiggling free, self-unhooks, potential teammates with Perks to stand, etc. Maybe you meant with no absolute means, all third-hooks and no helpful perks, but how could the game calculate all that? You can still wiggle free even so (depending on hook distance). I don't want slugging to come back, that was awful. Bleeding out should grant no points to anyone.
-
I've seen it, and yeah it's one of those "clones" but I love the aesthetic of it. I wish it would get a bigger budget and more polish, then come over here. No hate on DBD, I love it and will continue to play regardless.
-
Now I want a Horse Head killer =( How creepy would that be? Not a silly mask, but like Maurice on a lanky body, chasing you with a rusty implement? Ah well...
Though it makes me wonder if they can add other video game heroes, without pairing a Killer along. I don't want to see it get out of hand, but PC's from other horror/survival type games would be interesting.
