  • That's a bug, I think. They'll fix that soon, there's been a topic complaining about it so I'm pretty sure they're aware. And if you don't want headphones, just turn the sound up on the screen. There's no way to justify altering the game to give yourself an advantage. If you did, why not just alter the video aspect to make them easier to see through walls? There's no excuse.

I often play Billy while listening to music, so I can't hear anything. The chainsaw works just as well.

  • That's because it's nigh impossible to prevent friends from communicating over the internet. That's what makes SWF unfair, and why the game was technically designed for no communication (it even fits into the lore; no noise to give yourself away). But to change the actual game to give yourself an advantage is cheating plain and simple. You can wear headphones, and you can turn the volume up.

  • Are you so scared of DS that you'd just leave them on the ground and forego any hook/sacrifice points? Wow, I can't imagine playing like that.

  • Chucky doesn't fit. Just give us Pumpkinhead and leave movie killers out from now on.

I will take VG characters, however. Mr. X & Claire would be pretty cool ^_^

  • That's clearly cheating. Why wouldn't you think it was? Voice isn't supposed to be in the game, at least not Killer>Survivor, so again, cheating. You even have a perk just for this reason; just use Stridor.

  • I like the challenge perks like No Mither and Object of Obsession. Not only does it shake up the tension but it feels like a different game almost. It's good we have stuff like that to change how the game works, and I hope we get some more such perks in the future.

  • Borrowed Time, Botany Knowledge, and two of anything that help other people. My choices include Empathy, We're Gonna Live Forever, We'll Make It, Kindred, Hope, and perhaps utility perks like Small Game for Hex cleansing or Plunderer's Instinct for Item acquisition.

I use this to see my teammates out of the match to the best of my ability. The point isn't for you to survive, but to help them do so. If someone gets hooked at the end, I always try for a trade. Most killers like to just hook you both, but sometimes you can grab a guy who will escape while you get hooked, and that means you've won.

All Perks included in base game and do not require DLC. There are plenty of decent perks to sub in if you like or have access, such as Quentin's ability to get med kits, or Adam's healing skill.

  • Absolutely, I've never dodged in my life, unless people are tired of waiting for a 4th and they all leave me alone. No one usually shows up at that point, so I'll leave an empty lobby and try again. It's rare to see that, though. The MM rework that finds players the longer it goes on has helped a great deal.

People complain about lobby dodging but here I am being furious about 1-2 survivors disconnecting every game..

Yeah I'm afraid to grab anyone early on because they just pop out right away. I also see a significant increase in what I believe are de-rankers, people who AFK through two hits, don't crawl, but hit their DS. Really? And they immediately attempt escape from hook and won't struggle, leaving the game instantly. I know you want faster queues but your teammates hate being left with 5 gens for 3 people.

If i see a SWF joining my lobby i'll dodge, if i see a toolbox i'll dodge, if i see 2 flashlights or 2 med kits i'll dodge.

Do you seriously avoid a single toolbox? What are you so afraid of? This is a bigger problem than SWF is. Half of the time they all go down trying to save a single teammate. Maybe I need to raise my Killer rank higher but at my level DS only buys them an extra 6 seconds before they're down again.

  • Why do you say Hag? Isn't she included for free? Only killers after Huntress (from Clown onwards) require shards to buy. Do you mean Spirit? Personally I'd go for Spirit since she's awesome and plays off of mind-games, but if you already have her then that's cool. I just got Kate, and bought her a hairstyle with some shards, but I kind of want Legion just to goof around and make people not hate them as much.

  • I use Botany Knowledge instead of Exhaustion perk to help teammates escape...

...while I watch them leave, hanging from the hook =D

  • Pig is my fav of the three. It's all about style ~_^

  • It's extremely risky to even attempt an escape. The time reduces drastically, time your team could use either saving you or pushing Gens. And if you fail all attempts, you don't just get to Struggle, you lose some of that phase as well, reducing the time even more.

  • I'm not trying to make it extremely OP or anything, but didn't anyone else think Iron Maiden actually... meant that? As in, Survivor enters locker and becomes Injured? Like bear traps it won't put you into Downed state even if entering Injured already, but either way your cries of pain are increased, sort of like breathing with Stridor.

  • Poor Jeff? Kate and Laurie didn't get anyone, why is Jeff singled out? Doesn't he seem like a starving-artist loner anyway?

  • I can't edit my post for some reason, but what would even be the point? Does it deny Survivors some advantage? Wouldn't it negate Bloodlust (in case you needed it?)

  • Are you saying that if Legion looks straight down, they can't see the Survivor and thus trigger no chase? People think Moonwalking is related to Michael Jackson. Meyers can Stalkwalk backwards to great effect. In the case of chase manipulation, though, it seems like a bad tactic and should be rectified as exploiting the mechanics to gain an unfair advantage, especially in a Killer that already feels unfun to play against.

  • I mean, if using the Key automatically pops the Survivor into the Hatch, and the Killer grabbed them out preventing the escape, the Key isn't technically consumed and so the Hatch remains closed. I would imagine.

  • If opened with a key, it only remains open a short while (unless the regular conditions for hatch are met). I'd imagine that using the key and escaping consumes the key, so if you're grabbed out the hatch wasn't officially opened since no escape was made.

  • Patch Bug Fix: Solved an issue in which Survivors took damage.

  • What do you mean? Runescape still is the rage

  • I came here just to post this same topic. I just died on the hook, even though I was mashing the button, and someone was on their way to save me. With less than half a second between taps, why did I die? Please change this mechanic, I know why it is how it is but at this point it needs to be removed.

  • Yeah who uses Vigil, except for maybe those looking for Adept Quentin? I'm all for supporting a buff to this perk, even if it isn't about Exhaustion changes.

  • Nothing irks me more than getting chased, desperately trying to stall the Killer (or escape!) only to see the gen counter remain at 5. No Ruin, no Lanterns being touched, just... nothing. What are you people even doing? O_o

  • I was trying to be funny ~_~ but yeah, I use the white coat Claudette, and while I like it, I get spotted so easily.

  • Hitting a survivor knowing they'll immediately get the hatch is not "throwing the game." Plus, since gens were still left to do, it is safe to assume the others weren't escapes, but sacrifices. So she's doing pretty good as it is. Some people...

  • What character/outfit were you wearing?

    It matters.

  • Borrowed-Timing two people out of the basement the other day and the three of us escaped, some with Lanterns.

I saw a video once of a real hero. This was way back, before all the fancy perks, before Halloween content so no DS, all that. It was an injured Ace, one escape, one hooked (struggling), and last dead/escaped. With only a basic perk himself, he risked death by running to get the hook, sneaking around killer, and made the rescue so they both escaped. Back in the day, it was the most impressive thing I had ever seen, and I re-shared the vid so others could see it as well. I wish it was on YT somewhere.

  • I think the only rule-breaking body block is the killer hooking in the basement and then just standing in the stairs so no one can even enter. If it's not against the rules, it should be. Otherwise, the killer has a weapon, so just hit the people in your way.

  • Does 'ice skating' refer to the bug where you hit someone and they slide along for a little while with no animation?

  • Remember kids: If you win, you're cheating.

  • It seems like a recent change, we're all getting hit at great distances. Even with Lithe =(

  • It's been disconnecting me the past couple of days, earlier it was a "cannot update Player Level" error, and told me to restart the game.

  • Why do people think it's bad or toxic to use flashlights at a pallet? How else is a single survivor supposed to use it and escape? Blinding the killer is what flashlights do, they can't always be used to save teammates. And people gripe if they are. Also, isn't Lightborn a perk?

  • Ariel? The spectral woman?

I'd pay for Legacy of Kain content.

  • Does 'report' mean clicking the referee icon, or going through customer service button?

You know how petty and stupid people are in this game. Quite sad really, I'll just have fun playing... I dunno, Apex Legends. Much less stressful and promotes good teamwork for survival.

I tried that this morning, game's pretty good! Neat character system, but your team can't pick duplicates. It's squad-based in threes, so even if you solo queue, you're put with two others. Respawn Entertainment so it's the same guns/Marvins from Titanfall. Also free to play, check it out guys!
*I mean, _of course_ it's not better than Dead by Daylight, but just y'know...

  • Yeah it has to seem fair to the players. If you do a whole lot in a match, but the game tells you that it was poor, people will get frustrated. You don't want to make it specific like "gens only" because then no one will save teammates, since it won't benefit their personal score.

  • Legion was designed specifically for chases, as they can hop pallets, stall games, and kill in one hit during a chase. If the Survivor has no time to stop and heal, it only takes one.

  • In the first scenario, sometimes players misjudge the distance to the "escape" line, so you'd end up with a pretty pissed person. Technically, they made it to the exit and could have escaped. Now, many will say they didn't, because they like to give killers a free hit or ability down (chainsaw, huntress axe, etc) so in most cases I'd let them go.

If you had a Mori, which would be wasted upon their escape, go ahead and kill them. Hanging around in exit should only be "do I need to save a teammate?" or "let killer hit me once; I'll take my chances it's not NOED"

*Edit: During this event, which is pretty hard to get coins through normal play, I'd let them all go. It's hard enough getting a lantern before someone else, watching killer destroy them, killer hooks a bunch but ends up with maybe 10pts a match when you need 600. It's really a desperate system for players right now.

I am an Alphamale, Alphamales know no mercy. If for example somebody won the lottery right in front of your eyes but he would die if you didn't help him, wouldn't you just let him die out of spite?

That's nothing to be proud of.

  • Maybe you guys'll get an adult Freddy! Wouldn't that be nice?

When i finally got it, i didn´t even pip. The game is not consistent on what we have to do to get an achievement and what we are supposed to do to rank up.

I can pip without even getting a single sacrifice. It's weird. I do just about everything else to get it, though. 8 hooks and lots of chasing/destroying. I almost always have fun matches as killer, even with new players.

  • It might be the new Tinkerer perk. It nullifies the Heartbeat for a while when someone's nearing a gen completion. It's a Hillbilly perk, which is great for him since he can travel the map and no one can know he's coming, even from the opposite end.

  • People want that, but why are they okay with Billy/Nurse that powered to begin with? The variety is nice, sure, but if every killer were that powerful, the survivors would stop playing. You complain about DS and SC and all that but people would have to play the worst ways possible in order to survive. Altruism would be dead. One hook = game exit and that's no fun for anyone.

  • I didn't want to make a topic, but I've noticed some odd behavior in the way the game has played since the latest update, and it seems like momentary lag, but isn't. I'm stopped by invisible obstacles. I get hit through windows even if I'm sprinting away with Lithe at a good head start. I got a record of a Huntress axe streaking past me, with the white trails and all, yet a moment later I dropped anyway. I don't know if these are related but I can take a hit in circumstances where I normally wouldn't, which is frustrating as I'm trying to gain two complete outfits from this event.

  • Oh I know, I wouldn't use it and follow someone around, it just seems like that's the best use for it right now, where the old use was in helping others do gens faster.
