Well that concept.is flawed from the get go. For example i would spent several thousand hours into one killer and then decide to play one of the rest. I still would've the experience in regard to general gameplay, for example looping, map and perk knowledge, survivor behaviour.....and so on.
So in terms of the old MMR they can't send you against yellow ranks with each new killer you try. And the difference between green, purple and red were already hardly dependent on the individual survivor with the old system and I would guess it isn't much different with the new after less than a week.
As I explained (in my comment above) it takes some time in elo based system to find the right place for everybody.
Oh, yeah. I know. I thought that to myself too, when I've read about it. Though that doesn't change the fact that most games still feel like a coin toss, just like in the past. And yes, time's a huge part of how well an MMR works, but it could at least FEEL like it works a little, y'know?
-
Something's very off about the MMR, especially when it comes to this whole concept of having easier games on Killers you've not played yet.
-
Hope you can recover from such a terrible mental anguish one day.
-
The moment they fix these, they'll have to deal with Nurse's balance and that's not a conversation they're ready to have, when they can barely release a functional patch.

There are multiple definitions of this word and you are missing that one that I'm using:
/kəmˈpedədiv/
adjective
adjective: competitive
having or displaying a strong desire to be more successful than others.
You can be competitive even with 0 hours and rank 20, as long as you "having or displaying a strong desire to be more successful than others."
There is nothing in the definition that requires you to achieve that success in a certain number of hours. Learn English, it's not that hard.
denial
/dɪˈnʌɪ(ə)l/
Learn to pronounce
noun
the action of denying something.
"she shook her head in denial"

You know that just because you believe that doesn't make it true, right? Only 6.1% of all pc players ever achieved rank 1 as survivor. The highest I ever got was rank 3 and that is after about 200 survivor hours.
Source: https://steamcommunity.com/stats/381210/achievements
Now you can show me your source for "even casual players would hit Rank 1 few days after reset"
You've played 200+ hours and you've barely made it to Rank 3. There you go, that solves everything. You are not this "minority" of competitive players, you're the target audience here. The casual player. Rejoice.
-
Way too cartoonish for my taste.
-
-
What on earth are you talking about. If you played the game with a competitive mindset, you didn't see your rank improve because even casual players would hit Rank 1 few days after reset. So either you are not a competitive player and you are actually a player with a very casual skillset, or you're just trying to find something to complain about.

I raise you a Dweet.

He's a stronger, harder to play Clown.
But he's still a clown.

Can't say I'm convinced about the skin choice for Dwight. For some reason, and I can't exactly figure out why, it feels as though there's better choices for our boy Tyrone Henry.

Streamers really are so mad they're trying to unionize Killers.

I can't even imagine the posts we'd get to see if Decisive Strike or Borrowed time were taken away for a week.

No, it isn't. With each hook skill checks get faster until there's no sound at all. Gotta find it and cleanse the totem.

It's her first perk, Hex: Huntress Lullaby. It does exactly what you've just described.

The main issue is that the game simply isn't designed for tryharding.

You forgot to add extra 3 000 hours due to them having a better gaming chair than you, though.

I would laugh if BHVR actually made a functional system of any kind to begin with.

Yeah, I can't say I have been having that much fun playing him for that very reason. Whenever I win, it just feels like I've won due to SoloQ reasons and when I lose, it just feels like the Survivors were competent enough to beat a slightly stronger Clown. I know he's not been out for long enough to make a proper opinion, but those are the first impressions I'm having after few days of playing him.
-
So far I can't really tell the difference. Until 10pm my Killer games are either okay or extremely easy, after 10pm the games feel more like a coin toss.
-
Even when I play like this I get called tunneling trash if I win the game, so I don't see the point.

I got it using Legion's power so this isn't true.
For real? That's actually amazing. I just assumed it wouldn't work, as I've had no luck with Legion doing those older Tomes that require you to smack Survivors with your weapon.
-
It's M1 only.
And by that I really mean M1 only, not even Legion in feral frenzy will work, since it is technically an ability.

No, most of players are nice. But there are more and more toxic players, representing maybe 10 to 20% of the playerbase.
Fair players deserve the right to see if there are matched with someone toxic.
On one hand, I totally agree with you, because the idea in itself is fantastic and great. And I'd love something like that.
However, this all only works in theory. For example, Dota already does this, and they've much more players than DbD, and the system is pretty similar to what you're suggesting, on top of the fact that the game has clear goals and isn't a 4v1 - I mean, most of the time. And still it doesn't work. Players with maximum behaviour score still get matched with people that I can't even begin to describe in order to actually get into games in the first place, people abuse the system and everything that could be wrong with it is actually wrong with it.
Again, I really wish that something like this could be implemented, but I just can't see a way to do so without the system being detrimental in almost every conceivable way.
-
So you acknowledge that the game's filled with toxicity, but somehow you think this system wouldn't be abused? I envy you.
-
I think a Queen would be way too large, a Drone on the other hand would be absolutely perfect and I'd love to see it.
-
To showcase that they no longer count and that Grades are a completely different thing from Ranks. As in, Ranks were how they measured/showed "skill" in the past and since it's no longer the case, we've the new system.
Also, since we've not had a reset yet, the Grades are sort of useless at the moment, as in the future they will represent how much someone's played in any given month.
-
Can't say I've experienced this.
And that goes for the fits of rage, too.

Can you now use something logical in your argument or are you not willing to discuss this topic without silly remarks?
What I'm hinting at is that you didn't provide any solutions. OP isn't arguing that tracking is hard with Iron Will, mind gaming loops is. You cannot rely on blood and scratch marks when you're trying to win a loop against a Survivor, they will never let you. To simplify, you are not countering Iron Will by looking at blood and scratch marks, because that's not where the main issue is.
And, you don't counter a decent Spirit by walking, because that's not how a good Spirit plays. Sure, from time to time they'll go for those big brain long phases, but the way you play a Spirit is that you phase in shorter bursts and the second a decent Spirit notices something is off, they'll end the phase and slap you.
Is that logical enough for you? Both things can be an issue at the same time and both of them are worthy of discussing, which is what OP is trying to do.
-
@Marigoria said:
Iron will is fine. You can counter it be seeing blood and scratch marks on the ground.
You can also counter spirit by walking instead of running, but if she doesnt see scratch marks she will know you're walking so you havent gone very far.
You can also counter losing by simply winning instead.

I'm sorry, is this supposed to mean something? I have started to play the new killer a lot and I started to learn what works the best on him. I told my personal thoughts and gave advice to do the best with him. I don't see why the agressivity.
There's no aggressivity, just like there's no meaning or value in saying you main someone that came out like 72 hours ago. If anything, it's likely going to imply bias at this point.
-
@Pukenplag said:
I cannot agree with Pinhead, at all. As someone that already mains him and is starting to see his uses, he is at least B tier.
Don't use chains at loops that contain vaults. They are pointless most of the time. Pallet exclusive loops are entirely shut down by his power.
Run double lament resolving time increase addons, and try to approach the solving survivor by foot, and if not close enough, use your power to cancel the solving, because yes, chains do stop it. This is 90% of the time a guaranteed chain hunt.
Use chains to cancel actions, use them against holding w, regardless of what people say, you do get closer if you don't stay 5 years in the gate.
I'm sorry, is maining a Killer that came out mere days ago supposed to mean something?

That seems like a good thing, no? SoloQ players shouldn't be matched against the absolute best of the best, as they're at an extreme disadvantage compared to SWFs.
Naturally, there's the issue that this'll make those specific Killer mains with high enough MMR suffer and that the general MMR of SoloQ will be lower and thus more likely to throw potatoes at you more often.
-
I'm not so sure about this argument, because how many teams like that even are there? And more importantly, how many SoloQ players have enough game sense to play well enough to stomp most Killers, that is assuming they're not regularly matched with weaker players that only make their job harder.
However, there's only a handful of Killers that can consistently match a coordinated team and players who choose to master them are even rarer.
-
Pretty sure you can hit up the support and they'll take care of you. Toss in the screenshots, which characters did you prestige, all that good stuff and you're golden. The fact you're devotion 5 will help a lot I imagine. It is likely they'll shower you in Bloodpoints, as far as I asked that seems to be what happens most of the time.
-
Right as the first Survivor is wounded, so that Killer is forced to drop the chase, thus denying the down, especially if you suspect the teammate might be a potato.
Later in the game? When Pinhead is carrying a Survivor, or when he's hanging around unfinished generators and you're far away from them in a relatively safe area.
-
My main issue with him, is that he's extremely strong at certain aspects of the game, but complete garbage at everything else and the latest buff only made things worse.
He isn't as awful as most people would have you think, but to me, he's incredibly boring and very few downs ever feel satisfying at all.
-
Didn't take too long before the "elo hell" posts started, I see.

The Pinhead Dream Patch:
- Iridescent Box Add-On becomes base kit.
- Chains require an additional .50 seconds each to break.
- Number of chains spawned on successfully hit survivor increases by +1 per 10M the hook travels.
- Pinhead no longer breaks his own chains.
- Chains can no longer spawn in too close to walls/objects that would cause them to instantly break. They will now spawn much closer to the survivor model instead to secure hits.
- Reduced effectiveness of environmental chain break by 75%.
- Survivors that break the chains of other survivors have new chains spawn and target them instead.
Start there.
Just reading this makes me want to play him.
