That's just it. BHVR made a choice based on the license, not representation. I'm fine with representation, I think it's safe to say that most players of this game would be fine if not ecstatic with what they consider to be representation. I just don't understand why so many of the company's decisions have to be judged by that criteria. They wanted Hellraiser, they got Hellraiser, then they gave us some extra stuff to go along with it. That's awesome. That's a good thing. I can see people complaining about the prices of the skins (as I have) but sexuality, gay or straight or anything in between, shouldn't be a part of the argument because it's incidental in this situation. They wanted Hellraiser because of its status as iconic horror, I doubt that they were thinking much deeper than that.
But yes, it WILL be interesting to see what happens when they do release the first official openly LGBT original character. Half the forum will be thrilled, the other half will be outraged. In other words it will be a typical day on the DBD forums.
The funniest thing is, that the outrage doesn't usually come from the side one might expect. As is apparent by this thread and the countless similar threads that have been closed, because people who are effectively on the same side couldn't stop bickering about what is enough and what defines as this or that.

Yeah, kinda sorta sounds like you're both trying to play on one purchase which wouldn't be allowed, I'm sure.
It's been working like this for ages on Steam at least. Family sharing DLCs works flawlessly. But don't tell anyone.

No way.

Nobody knows, they're not allowed to comment on the issue.

My main issue with the new MMR is just how much is hidden. For all we know, they could literally make zero changes and say everything's suddenly good. And while I don't think they would be that scummy, I also don't find myself trusting Behaviour, at all. Given how many obvious bugs get past them and given how long they often take to fix, the system could be entirely broken and we wouldn't know. I'm looking at you Hillbilly.

Ah, tru3 on his everlasting crusade against something which is just blown out of proportion now. Mainly thanks to him...
Out of interest, did he check it without stretched tho? Ghostfaces Reveal is so broken, would not be surprised if it would work the exact same without stratched resolution.
I don't know dude, I'd say there's a lot of reasons for which one can criticize Tru3, but being dedicated to bringing as much attention to all the bs that comes with stretched res is certainly not one of them.

SWFs that sweat sit at the very top.
Then Good Killers.
And somewhere in the depths of the abyss is SoloQ.

And since BHVR is adament on not buffing solos, we rather unfortunately must complain about NOED since it, alongside Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer, exemplifies the massive power disparity in this game between SWFs and solos.
Yep. Though one can dream we'll see the gap between SoloQ and SWF made smaller.
-
SoloQ teammates are bad, more news at 7.
-
Swear to god, if I ever walk up to a gate and see Survivors fortnite dancing...
-
They don't need an MMR to know certain Killers are weak. They just don't care to balance them for some reason.
-
I don't know dude, there's nothing funnier to me than winning a game against Rank 1 Survivors saying: "lmao this'll never work" to myself the entire game.
And if you lose? Well, you did play a Trapper so who really cares.

It was only confirmed a day or two ago right?
I think so, but a countdown is a countdown. For a moment you had me thinking I necro'd a thread, wew.

Wait, the release isn't confirmed for tomorrow? The main website says this, am I missing something?

yepp I am aware, but until an official date is confirmed - I will not confirm a date.

Ruin. Even if it's cleansed early on and so long as you manage to chase a Survivor or two off a gen, you're getting roughly the same or even greater value on average than from Pop. Except when Ruin isn't cleansed, it's a free win, that's just something Pop can't even compete with, as much as I love and often use the perk.
I'd say Hag with Corrupt/Pop might be the exception, since you can force a three gen easier in some cases.

Cruelty Squad. It's on steam and it's... Somehow even crazier than the screenshot makes it out to be.

Defending bm is not the right approach. Try again please.
Because making infinite threads about the fact someone clicked a flashlight is the right approach, yeah? Don't try again, please.
-
I mean, it's pretty strong but at the end of the day you're still facing a Clown who needs to melee you. It's not even close to Iridescent Head.
-
See, this is where we have to use our brain a little. The thing is, that in order for this game to be fun, both sides have to be willing to actually partake and compromise, even cooperate if you will. What does that mean?
That means as a Killer I might go easier on that Claudette that's clearly way bellow her friends in terms of skill, it means that if I have 4 gens and multiple hooks already, I won't immediately rush the hook after a rescue even though I know these particular Survivors just love to heal under them, it means I am willing to play in a way that makes the game as difficult as it needs to be for both sides instead of being EFFICIENT, aka tunneling everyone out one by one.
The issue is though that Survivors are, by design, seen as the victim and as such they are 100% right to play at maximum efficiency at any given time. Yet when you have an actual conversation, you'll find that a truly fun game involves plenty of chases, some mind games, good loops, all that stuff. I will admit that there's certain truth to the fact that the Killer has to lead in this dance, as he is the one who instigates the threat and thus the pressure which results in fun, but Survivors aren't always completely without a blame. I mean, even at Rank 1 you will often see Survivors that hug gens even though someone's hooked, despite the fact that Killer's actively searching and not camping, all the way to the second stage. You'll also get people who just refuse to heal/get healed so that they can slam those gens, because god forbid you'll take it slightly easier on a Killer who's learning - And that's often the kinder gesture, seeing as the most frequent action is ruthless BM.
So no, "gen rushing" doesn't exactly exist in the way you're making it out to be and I'll agree that it's the wrong term for the larger issue at hand, but it's the term the community has chosen to use. At the end of the day, the real problem lies in the fact that the game's only fun when both sides are evenly matched or are willing to trade their efficiency for enjoyment.
-
Oh no, the Survivor crouched, better make a forum post.
-
"I don't want to have boring games that I'll lose, so I'll rather force boring games in which I will lose."
Okay, dude. Whatever helps you cope.

You're just jealous that you're not on their level, obviously.
The knowledge that flows from their words is insanely valuable.
Stuff like use CI on a trap based killer and MYC is good on Hag isn't something low tier players understand.
This guy/gal might even be as good as me, someday, but 700 wins in a row on one killer is pretty weak and easy, not gonna lie.
Pfsh. While you were asleep I kept grinding my wins, tell you what. Here's a little advice from a real master - Ruin combines well with Undying.
You keep this up and we might have a little 1v1 situation on Cowshed.

And on top of that you've managed to type 7 000 words without saying anything of value. Incredible.

It was great until I played as my mains and faced Seal Team 6 for about 5 games then went back to playing other people.
Pretty much my experience as well. Guess that might adjust with more games played on those Killers, but man was it strange to see people doing things like ensuring they get downed in the corner of a map to waste extra 2 seconds against a Clown that's clearly just chilling and walking to the opposite side of the map after every hook.

Flashbang rescues give my brain a lot of feel good juice.

@ThanksForDaily Both of you are biased if you think this isn't the case on both sides. What else are you going to run when half your matches are against campers or sweat squads? Most of the perks in this game are garbage, so really, what else should you run?
That's okay, if you feel that way. Personally, I feel like I've much more space when it comes to fun perks as a Survivor, same with the various combinations you can make. Are they always meta? Of course not. But I can still have a good, solid game despite running Flashbang and Head on. While as a Killer, the pressure to have certain perks, such as Corrupt and Pop is much higher. And that's on top of BBQ to help with the general grind of the game.

I think plenty of people realize that the game can never truly be balanced, it's just that lot of us sort of adjust our expectations. I don't expect to 4K with Clown every game, nor do I expect the Killer to be kind when I'm playing Survivor, it is what it is, but there's joy in all that chaos, at the end of the day. So long as one's in the mood.
That's not to say there aren't issues that need looking into, but a perfectly balanced asymmetrical game is an oxymoron.
-
@ThanksForDaily said:
Red rank killers can't play this game without 3-4 perk slowdowns whenever killer they play. The best one or the worst.
Imagine using the training wheels build and thinking that you're good at the game.
If Killers are using the training wheels in red ranks, then Survivors are on an autopilot.

STBL or M&A for Slinger! But if I had to choose I would choose STBL. 8 stacks and you are on a roll <3 I never play him without it.
I second this! They're both so damn good on Slinger, but STBFL has won me countless games.
-
Strong against SoloQ and on good Killers.
Okay against SWF and on weaker Killers.
Just like with so many things in this game, it's either a free win or barely enough depending on the matchmaking and/or if you're playing an S-tier Killer. It's kind of sad how every issue comes back to the same thing.

I sometimes draw hearts with Pyramid Head.

Not as far as I know, because people keep posting bug reports into discussions and feedbacks without taking the extra second to screenshot the said problem and chuck it into bug reports after a single forum search.
