God, that anime chin/lips/nose combo is unnerving.

Could be the fact that Killer MMR doesn't kick in until you've played enough games on said Killer, or so it has been said. So if you're a god Blight and suddenly decide to buy Slinger, expecting easy games, you'll still face roughly the same Survivors you'd get in your Blight games until your MMR tanks on Slinger and things change.

But people are way more inclined to buy new outfits if they are unlinked because they can be creative.
But are they three times more inclined to do so? Or are they going to say screw it I'll get it anyway. They make money off whales, the big spenders, not Timmy who got 5 bucks for mowing the lawn so he can buy a cool hat for Dwight.

If Boon totems add another objective for the Killer that might genuinely be it.
-
I mean, yeah. But at the same time, what are you expecting her to do? Loop you around one of the couches?

She seemed to be “overperforming” here on the forums. Next we’re gonna see a ton of “nerf nurse” threads.
My money is on Blight. It'll follow the same Stridor/Iron Will/Spirit scenario except with Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer and then Blight himself.

Not to be that guy but is that really YEARS of work?
For some companies it is.

Good news everyone, they've heard your complaints and it's only two Killers now!
-
Given the language used in this update, I thought this was an incredibly well-written shitpost.
-
SO IT BEGINS ANEW
-
Haddonfield is such a well-designed, great looking map!
-
I'm currently absolutely addicted to Pyramid Head with Ruin/Undying/Retribution.

You didn't make a post complaining about Nemesis for two entire days, I was getting worried.

There's actually quite a bit to talk about here and it's all quite interesting. First, let's talk about what is generally considered a victory. I think we can all agree that an escape for a Survivor and three or more kills for the Killer is a success. It makes you feel good, it gives you a sense of an accomplishment, maybe even improvement. It positively motivates you. And let me just go out of my way to say that I am aware of the fact, that not all Killers and not all Survivors think this way.
Now let's ask ourselves, what do the Devs want? The Devs consider 2 kills a fairly balanced, good game and as such, it is fair we assume they'd be pleased if every game ended this way. So out of five people in a game, two Survivors will get to experience victory, while the Killer will always experience a defeat. Meaning that gloating from Survivors will be more frequent. There is a very clear design flaw here.
The next thing to mention, is that on average you'll meet more "toxic" Survivors, no I'm not looking to start a debate on who's worse, that's not what this is about, rather it's statistically factual. You meet more Survivors than Killers, simple as. We can also talk about the fact that I've yet to receive an incredibly dumb -rep comment on my Steam profile from a Killer player, but we'll save that for another day.
So what does the average Killer do in this scenario? Technically, there's three choices here, right? Number one, become such a good Spirit/Nurse/Blight that defeat will become a rarity, meaning the amount of camping you do and the general abuse you receive will be minimal. Thus you don't get tilted enough to dish out abuse. Which quite frankly shouldn't be an option with an MMR, but for the sake of the argument we'll mention it.
Number two, and this is where most normal human beings belong, you just take it on the chin. You play to have fun, you play to get better, you're just fooling around. Sure, from time to time you might get tilted and from time to time, the comments you have to deal with from the Survivors will hurt, but life goes on, your own personal value doesn't depend on how many people you've managed to kill in a video game.
Number three, you perceive the 2 kill=balance mindset as a clear indication that the game is Survivor sided, you see the gloating that follows nearly every single time a Survivor "wins", you realize that without tunneling/slugging you cannot get your 3 kills as often, which leads to even more abuse and anger from the Survivors, until eventually you begin to play like the Killers you speak of, because you're caught in a cycle of abuse. Now we can talk about the fact that tunneling and slugging isn't toxic, but that doesn't change the fact it makes a lot of people angry and angry people lash out. And the more they lash out, the more likely are players in the Killer role, specifically those prone to ego and anger issues, to finally "take the reigns" and pat themselves on the back for letting a bunch of people that were just having fun bleed out.
So all in all, with the introduction of MMR, I can see why people act this way. Does it justify their behaviour? Hell no. Not at all. Though what I sadly can't see, is how to ever fix this in a game such as this.
-
I mean, by merely running Glasses+Ring+Sloppy you're giving yourself so many crutches that all the other perks are irrelevant, you're bound to win regardless.
-
M1 Killers are so incredibly frustrating to play, even against mediocre Survivors. Because all they need to do, is drop some pallets to stall and by the time you get a down you lose a gen, only to repeat the process with the next Survivor until it's a gg. It's like the better both players are, the less skill is involved.

I used to do it for a free hit, but killers told me to stop so I stopped. Never a power trip thing.
That's the thing, I've seen Killers say the same thing countless times, making it very clear that leaving after everyone's safe is the kind thing to do.
Which is why I think that anyone who uses this as an excuse is just straight up lying, unless they're new.
-
Because just like any bully, they only ever feel safe to showcase this behaviour when they're 100% certain there's nothing you can do about it, never realising how sad that is.
And don't let anyone tell you it's because they want to "reward" the Killer with a free hit. It is a pure power trip thing.

That is ridiculous 🙁 did you report them?
Of course. Not what I was expecting while doing my Wraith daily!
Though I'll admit the sudden change of mind as to who should get cancer was funny, because I'm 99% sure this was the most complex thought this person has had today.
-
No.
-
For me, it's the same as always. The positive interactions with the players!

That is how most MMR systems work, though. I've said this before, but it's a bit like trying to guess a number when you only know if it's higher or lower than your current guess.
I know, I'm not really trying to complain, even though I am. It's just... I have so little faith in this and almost nothing that would help change my mind has happened, you know?
Plus, there's nothing easier than lying to your playerbase about something they cannot confirm. Especially when Behaviour doesn't have the best track record when it comes to catching bugs.
-
THE SECOND☺
-
When in doubt, hit them with the ol': "Just give it some time, it works!"
-
We'd have to define "working" at first.
-
Mostly Killer because I've played too many team-based, competitive games and now I'm so sick of losing due to teammates I'll do anything to avoid that feeling.

@RenRen said:
Wait didn't they say there was individual mmr? Is it bugged or something?
They have said a lot of things.
-
Why not step it up a bit?
NOED, but it uninstalls the Survivor's game.
Lethal Pursuer, but I get to know your address.
Blast Mine, but 3000% louder.
-
I agree.
-
I play about 30% less, my lack of faith in the MMR likely plays into it, though mostly I'd blame the queue times, which force me to play between 7pm and 1am, if I want to find a game without too much waiting.
-
My man's giving you that booty arch and you're not even appreciating the effort...

Clearly not, given that it's always worded differently.
And if you're sick of reading it, I don't give a shite. Go complain somewhere else. Maybe join the massive, arrogant collective that keeps complaining after only a week of crappy trials.
That answers all of my questions and more.

Probably they are trying to get your attention because they know your bad at the game by just looking at this post.
Damn, imagine getting forum sniped.

AU servers, in the evening, previously a nightmare of what people are now calling "high MMR" but what I call "4-minute trials". I'm glad to see NA and EU suffering as we have for over a year. Now you know how good you had it, however I would love it if those massive servers had to cry in pain for a bit longer. Call me sadistic, but I like it when people have to suffer what I've suffered.
However, now that MMR is here my trials are absolutely fantastic. I have a wide variety of opponents but I really don't care because so far as I am concerned, the best thing about DbD is being in a trial for longer than eight minutes. It is beautiful and fantastic.
I'm curious, do you have this message saved in a file somewhere, seeing as you spam it in every thread related to this issue?
-
The ultra rapid clicking that plays in the last 0.25 seconds of the clip really does it for me.
-
Waitaminute, did the Clown bug come back? I've been unable to replicate it after the fix, did it start happening again? I must've not noticed it in my games.
-
Sums up the whole experience.
-
I'd run it for the BP boost even if it made me 5% slower and prevented me from using any other perks.
The grind can suck it.
-
Surprised you didn't ask them if they have a job.
-
Yeah...
-
Crazy how almost everyone thinks they're at High MMR. Really actives the neurons.
-
If only they could read.
-
Don't forget the hardest one imaginable: Actually leave when the exit gates are open and everyone's safe without forcing the Killer to see you out.
-
Wraith with "The Ghost" - Soot should work, worked perfectly last time we had a challenge like this. Ezpz.
-
Not a funny number either, but I was really happy to see this BP gain after a single game. One can dream this would be the norm.
-
By making less threads.

I wouldnt say pips were really important for me, bc i always reached rank 1, but i still preferred a pip over a depip. Now with MMR i want to do everything to get good teammates next match.
The fact one would always end up hitting Rank 1 with enough time is what demotivated me. Well, that and the fact I struggle with a stupidly competitive mindset, which is something I need to keep in mind, because the second I begin to care about personal performance, pips, ratings, is when all fun stops for me and DbD really isn't built for that with all the RNG and general nature of SoloQ when playing survivor.
How are your games so far, do you feel as though your personal performance impacts the quality of your MMR and thus teammates?
-
I often run Kindred/BT/WGLF for this exact reason, it has become an anti-tilt build for me, because I can always at least secure some BPs.
Never cared for pips after I've hit Rank 1 for the first time and I care for them even less now.
-
Pyramid Head. I feel like no matter who you put him against, it'll always be Pyramid Head. My man's the only Killer who actually tears open the entity's realm with his ability, ignores her hooks and straight up kills Survivors without an offering.
