I will be sure to raise this concern during the next Killer mains gathering.

I don't feel the game balanced at all. And I am experimenting less and less fun and motivation to play.
The higher ability you get on game (loops, flashlight, game knowledge), is becoming less and less important. As survivor your most efficient play is Hold M1 and let your tunneled mates being bullied.
And we can't blame people for playing the most effective way (tunnel, gen rush and a 3 killers pool is all you are gonna see on any tournament without added rules.
It's a horrible game design for rewarding people for playing the most unfun and unskilled way.
Said that, I'm not expecting them to adress a so complex problem soon. I'd be happy woth another game mode that encourages more interaction, fun and sportmanship.
I
Yeah, that's a good point. There's also the issue that, the better both players involved in a chase are, the less likely they are to do something interesting, or showcase skill, as they both understand how the loop is supposed to be played and when the 50/50 comes into play.
I almost wish that Survivors could do more things than mere running, dropping pallets and vaulting, as that would allow for more interactive chases that satisfy both players and encourage genuine skill. As of right now, the formula for a chase is extremely basic once fully understood.

In my case, every balance problem that the game has would be solved by a very simple addition now that SBMM is in place, no matter how survivor or killer sided is the meta: Make MMR public so i know how much better I am doing in respect with other killers, as killer and other survivors as survivor.
Right now I'm in the dark zone, i have no incentive to tryhard and improve because of the tenedncy of 50% winrate (whatever the system decides is a win) and I might get pissed about some balance choices but at the end of the day they don't really matter anymore. A simple number on top of my head that tells me how "good" the system thinks I am at the game would give me a little spark of interest back to me in the game instead of this meaningless rank system.
I can definitely admit I've been feeling a bit of a... Not sure how to put it. Maybe SBMM fatigue, on one hand there's Killers that are much more likely to struggle against good Survivors and so I might be less likely to pick them, on the other hand SBMM is likely to force 50% win rate anyway, so there's this strange feeling of playing just to be playing, that personal choices and skill are sort of out of my hands. And I know that's not true, I do, but the feeling looms regardless, even though I am someone that's motivated by a personal desire to improve, rather than numbers telling me I'm a good boy.

Always happy to help.

Just had another great one.
And just as I posted I got this notification on Steam. Beautiful.
For the record, it was a regular Ghost Face game. You know how it goes, you sneak up on the first Survivor, mark them, down then, they ragequit and then you do your best to 2 hook everyone before you start killing them, so there's at least some bloodpoints to go around.
-
I quite enjoy him, as he's one of the few 115% Killers that have the tools to dictate the pace of a chase, especially around shorter loops. For some reason I've been finding it quite annoying lately to chase a Survivor around a very safe loop, both of us knowing they can do this two more times before they have to make a 50/50, while the rest gets to sit on gens.
Not having to respect pallets is also a huge plus.

absolutely positive, i have 4000 hours on survivor and have gotten countless pallet saves, i also get the “killer stun” score event so if i was doing it too early i wouldn’t be getting the points for “stunning” the killer.
ive had 3 pallet saves fail on me today and i’ve gotten maybe 4 that have actually worked so i’m not sure what’s going on
Oh, fair enough. There's been a lot of strange things going on ever since they've removed the reverse pallet stuns, I wonder if there's a way to replicate this. My best guess is that it could have something to do with the Killer's center being closer to "your side of the pallet", resulting in a buggy behaviour due to the recent changes. I'll try to keep an eye out.
-
I've had no problems either. It's a matter of timing, if you slam the pallet when they're still in the middle of the animation, nothing will happen.
-
We're actually all making secondary accounts to confuse you.
-
Realize I'm playing a Trapper.
-
Is my all time favourite.
-
In all fairness, he's very strong up until Survivors realize they can vault various objects or use headphones.
-
I think that now, more than ever, many Killers feel they do not have any control over the game and camping is the only way for them to take that control back.
And I'm not gonna lie to you, often times when I'm playing a C or D tier Killer against an efficient group of Survivors, I know that by leaving the hooked person to go chase looper69420 I'm lowering my chances to "win", while ensuring Survivors have more fun. The only thing that genuinely sucks about that, is the fact they often have zero appreciation for this and they're more than happy to let you know how much better they are than you in every way, to the point it no longer surprises me some Killers play the way they do.
-
Hmm.
-
I'm genuinely surprised mods are completely fine with statements such as: "Are all the Killers gonna keep being some tall (usually) white guy with a mediocre power and a boring backstory? If I wanted to watch women get brutally killed by men, I'd just turn on the news."
I'm really not sure if criminal statistics combined with race and gender are something you ought to be getting into, less so if you're expecting an outcome that won't result in an outrage. But okay.
Anyway, OP has a point, same with the lack of older women playable as Survivors someone else has pointed out. Still, you cannot expect a civil thread when you open up in such a tone, no matter how righteous you may feel.

He came.

This one has been posted by one of you people on a McDonalds wifi, I bet.

You're totally right, I have also posted this on reddit...now it'll be a few weeks before I remember to check back there and see if anyone has commented on it.

So you're a Mean Pig breeed then. That's fine! Mean Pigs keep the Pig population up when MMR gets rough, so we do need Mean Pigs around. I'm more of a Nice Pig myself but I play the game for fun, not 4ks so to each their own.

I was aiming for that sort of tongue-in-cheek campiness so good to know I hit it.
Wait, you actually did? Lmao my 6th sense is real.

Is this Reddit?

How would he be unfun? People should be determined to get better at killers they enjoy, not everything should be easy. Its what made slinger so annoying is how you cant really counter him shooting at you through windows and pallets. Now you have to use strategy to play him well. The terror radius thing was a bit much but thats just a nitpick
There's very little strategy in losing the 1v4 because you have nothing else going for you besides a decent-ish 1v1.
-
You actually sat down, wrote all of this and thought to yourself: "Damn, what a funny discussion I am about to post. What a real knee slapper, what a little rascal I am."
Crazy.
-
Crazy how everyone's playing at high MMR.
On a serious note, we don't even know what Boon totems do. We have no idea. It could be broken. It could be something meaningless. It's too soon to complain.
-
Not how I was expecting to spend an hour and a half of my time today, but here we are. Shout out to "BHVR’S KILLER NERDS ARE JUST SURVIVOR SIDED" and "SO THERE'S NO REASON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT KEYS ANYMORE RIGHT?" for being an incredibly reliable source of utterly basic, mindless complaints.
-
So we're all just getting mad at imaginary people out here?
-
Getting there!
-
It's a buff that will benefit SoloQ for the most part, as SWF can communicate where they are and which important pallets have been used, so I'm with it. Nothing more annoying than finding out someone has already used this or that pallet.
-
First of all, keys won't be missed.
Second of all, a little bit concerned about the new built to last, given just how strong medkits already are. But at the same time, it might make for some interesting builds.
-
So it begins.
-
Because an interesting design, no matter how weak, at least has the potential to be good with buffs and a few changes. It gives you something to hope for. A glorified M1 Killer is hardly something to be excited about.

i can 100% confirm my native language is English.
i just chalk it up to people speaking differently with their use of words and phrases.
Then there's the answer. It was either this or that, but in either case it seemed more reasonable to assume you're not trying to insult anyone.
Anyway, before this thread is derailed even further, I feel like the concept art of Jane would be extremely hard to implement in the game. No matter how I try to visualize her possible model, it always seems extremely uncanny, as the current faces just aren't capable of handling that level of emotion in one's expression. She looks very confident, almost borderline haughty in the concept art, but if they tried to translate that into the game, she'd end up with that Jill/Quentin syndrome.

Yup, hence making new players experience worse than it was before the mmr was a thing.
At least before they were matched kinda evenly rank-wise.
I don't believe it should start at a certain mmr, it should start lower than that kinda like apex at least no?
For sure. Though I feel like then the system will run into the issue that there just isn't enough players to match the new guys with. Most of us are willing to wait for 5 minutes, because we know "it's that time of the day so role X has faster queue times", but new players might not be so willing. It's really good that you've tested this, I was wondering if it'd really be this bad. I can only imagine this is atrocious for the general retention of newer players.
-
It's because new accounts start at an average, base value of MMR, I imagine. Which is really funny, because I doubt people will have the best impression of the game when they have to lose several games in a row without fully understanding why.

the females
You mean women?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2522560#Comment_2522560
What would be shocking is if you actually believed what you said before.
Do you enter every thread with the intent to argue semantics? I'm sure Bran isn't trying to be offensive, or whatever it is that you're trying to bait them into with female/woman, but if you pay just a tiny bit more attention you might realize it is likely English isn't their native language and thus they might not see the nuance.

Empathy towards other humans, especially when it comes to perceiving things differently, tends to be difficult for me. I do try my best, though!
Then consider not being hostile by default. Say what you will, but this game simply causes stress to some people. I doubt they need to be called childish on top of that.

Honestly, if you're 18+ and you feel "humiliated" because of a video game, you really need to work on yourself.
(Not counting chats, of course. Direct communication very different.)
Honestly, if you're 18+ and you can't empathise and comprehend that other people might not perceive things the way you do, you really need to work on yourself.
-
Realize and remind yourself that your value as a person does not depend on a video game and wasting even a second of your time on those that would seek to purposefully mistreat you is a waste, you're better off spending that attention on those that actually matter to you.
-
What I find odd, is that it's such a lukewarm change that could have been implemented months, if not years ago. If it takes this long to change something so basic and obvious...
-
The romance, of course.
-
Also, make sure your Steam account has comments enabled, so you get to find out just how horrible of a human being you are for winning in a video game.
-
I'm afraid those questions might be too specific to be answered, though maybe a Mod/Dev will step in, would be really interesting to know.
-
You have to be more specific.
-
Nemesis is already in the game, lmao.

VHS ,welcome you coming.
Do you guys get paid for these posts?

The system still takes your average MMR when you're playing a new Killer, then from what I've seen posted here it takes up to ten games for it to start adjusting to that specific, new Killer, which is absolute hell if you ask me.

I want to see what the game will look like when the sweatiest players will have broken the meta of this game down to its bones. The fact that the goal of the kids is to kill the monster make this a compleltly different kind of game beyond the superficial 4vs1.
Yeah, this is it. I feel that the whole cartoony fun will vanish as soon as few people figure out how to minmax everything.
I will say one thing though, I do like how the Killer gets stronger when he hits Survivors multiple times without a down, eventually making them exposed for the next hit.

Society.

Do you genuinely need validation this badly?
