I am considerably upset by this.
-
No, there's no reason to play him or even try to master him when Huntress does everything better.
-
Real gamers play only when Boon totems are so bugged they're disabled.

Wow, you are so smart.
All my friends got reset yesterday that's why i'm asking.
Not nearly as smart as the person that can't explain their issue coherently, though!

He?
Many languages gender their nouns, meaning Survivor, as in the noun itself, would naturally be referred to as either Masculine, Feminine or Neutral. And I imagine that could be the case with OP, hence the typo.

Yes, we get it in my country instead of the birth certificate.
Blessed be your posts.

Excuse me sir, do you have a license for this cringe.
-
I genuinely don't see why anyone would play Deathslinger over Huntress, unless you're in it for the aesthetics. Horrible balance decisions.

Someone better translate this to Chinese.

Is there any reason you wouldn't play on epic?
I just don't like them. And I'm sure that if we actually had a discussion about this, we'd come to the conclusion that all launchers are basically bad and they all spy on you equally and so on, so deciding that Epic Launcher is too much is an arbitrary decision. But at the same time, you gotta draw the line somewhere and that's just mine, y'know?
-
There's nothing that could ever make me migrate to Epic, so that would be it for me.

The outrage summed up.
Hope you've cleaned your room at least three times to have the authority to dish out Jordan Peterson quotes like that.

Clowning, what are you even angry about? I think you and everyone else is just looking for something to get angry over. This is an overblown controversy. But by all means, stop playing DBD, but you won't because like I said, you don't actually give 2 shits. You're the actual robot who's doing what you're told for reasons that you don't even know and as soon as the controversy fades you'll forget it ever even happened.
Out of the two of us, you seem far more emotional, my dude. I'm not mad, if anything I'm glad Behaviour is getting what they've had coming to them for all the lack of transparency we've been seeing lately. They're not our friends, they're a brand, a corporation, and this is a great way to remind people, because they should be aware of that fact. I'm sick of brands pretending they're one of us and that they care and I'm even more annoyed by people who eat it all up or even worse, blindly consume without questioning anythig.
-
Do not question.

I promise you I am not trying to start an argument. I think NFTs are a ripoff at best. But I do have to ask for clarification (I had a real bad day today unrelated to any of this, so I am not thinking at 100% clarity atm): What deceit are you (and I assume others) referring to?
Hey, sorry to hear about your day! Hope today will treat you better. But yeah, I can see your question was answered as I was sleeping. Though there's one more thing to add, which is that we've been seeing this behaviour from Behaviour, heh, more often and more clearly in the past few months. The matchmaking system situation was very similar to this, they first claimed that the system is complex and that it definitely isn't as simple as escapes and kills, only to back down and confirm it's literally just that. On top of that, the people at Behaviour really, and I mean really, play that "how do you do fellow gamers and minorities" shtick on Twitter and other forms of social media, which makes this whole thing even more repulsive to me, personally. Don't get me wrong, I'm not naive enough to think that these corporations care about any of us, but I did my best to have some hope for BHVR, that maybe since they're smaller they actually care about all the causes they seem to support, rather than doing so because it's currently a good marketing strategy.
-
I'm not really emotionally invested in the whole "think of the nature!" side of the argument, but I still have to admit that this level of corporate deceit is deserving of all the hate it's getting and more.

I mean, it's pretty much been already said - To a large degree the casual argument is more or less a cope for people who don't want to reach a certain level, while still getting free wins. That's definitely true for many people. However, I think there's another layer to this.
For example, as a Killer, there's certain things you can do that greatly increase your chances of winning, and by winning I mean the community accepted definition of three or more Kills. I can force three gens, I can come around hooks and slug the unhooked person after 12 seconds, I can effectively tunnel a single Survivor out of the game to increase my chances of winning, I can Michael Jackson my way to ever generator to fool spine chill and so on. All of these tactics are somewhat boring and many of the things you can do to increase your chances of winning aren't entirely fun. The fun is in the chase, in outsmarting people, in landing some sick hatchets and the like.
In other words, the game is best enjoyed casually. More than that, at a certain Skill Level, it is no longer beneficial for you or the other side to play in a way that encourages skillful play, because it is more effective to play in a way that decreases how much skill each side can even showcase to begin with. What I mean by that is that it is way too beneficial for Killers to tunnel and camp and it is way too beneficial for Survivors on comms to just drop all pallets and hold W towards sections of the map where gens have already been done, just to waste enough of the Killer's time so that other Survivors can slam gens. None of these tactics are interesting to partake in or to watch.
I don't think you'll get a definitive answer that would satisfy you, because there really isn't any. Frustration is, in a way, part of Dead by Daylight's design, a lot of things are unfair and effective play isn't entertaining. Perhaps most importantly of all, playing "casually" isn't rewarded, play an M1 Killer for a day without using any advanced tactics and you'll get taunted left and right, at every pallet, at every loop, in nearly every post game discussion - That's not to turn this into another discussion about toxicity, rather I'm trying to highlight why many people get upset when they're not playing in a way that absolutely demolishes the other side.
-
Good post, ol' chap. Have my upvote!
Edit: Thank you for the reddit gold kind strangers!
-
By that logic Survivors need to get used to being camped on the hook, maybe load up some Civ in the meantime. Or maybe, just maybe, we can accept that the current system doesn't benefit anyone.
-
Oh, yeah. Definitely. Even EU suffers from this. Though it makes sense, as I imagine the only people who play this deep into the night are either big gamers, that are likely to stay in groups to ensure maximum gaming in fact occurs, or people that just want to kill time and play something. At least that's been my experience when I've played both Killer and Survivor during those times.

Lmao us vs them at its finest. Why can’t both sides just come together and acknowledge both sides have problems and not call everyone trash? Community would be so much better.
Pretty sure he was just making an obscenely dumb statement to match the OP, a joke if you will. And to be entirely fair, this thread is "us versus them" from the get go, so there's nothing constructive to salvage here. The truly sad thing is that threads which discuss issues in a civil fashion barely reach two pages, since silly takes result in silly responses, which result in endless free bumps.
-
I could swear I heard that the point system is already in place somewhere, or maybe it's just that I've yet to see a game with heavy map RNG without a "director" system. Though what definitely needs to happen, is that tiles/pallets of certain strength shouldn't spawn next to one another, definitely agree there.
-
Because we're currently in the middle of this strange balancing trend where Survivors are given more power over the chase, and the chase itself is being balanced more and more as though the game was a 1v1. That's not to say Killers should dictate the pace of every single chase and that Survivors should be utterly helpless, however we've yet to see good changes that affect the actual 1v4 following any of these nerfs. Deathslinger is a beautiful example of this.

Actually no if he opened one locker and grabbed one the other one has a chance of finding hatch and escaping but he wanted or expected us just to give it to him effortless
And if one of you gets out and gets killed, the other one can run out to find the hatch in the meantime, as the animation is playing - You could even argue that you'd have a better chance of escaping this way, as the hatch opens the moment you die, something that takes a while to do on the hook, letting the Killer catch up with you.
So yes, all three of you were stubborn and that's just how it is. It was your choice. Hope it was worth it.

So Nea and me should have just have gave up because there's no counterplay to that? He wanted achviment so we should have give it to him with zero effort?
He could've opened the locker at any point and then hook you, correct? Everyone was dead and there was no hope for the two of you to finish the objective, correct? In that case, Tombstone or no Tombstone, you've already lost the game. If you decide to make it so that the Myers doesn't get his achievement/doesn't get to Mori you, that's your choice to make, but from what you've said, it just sounds like you've decided to be stubborn, in which case the Killer can just do the same.
It's no different from people spending hours standing in front of the old hatch, because they were too stubborn to let the other side have the win.
-
If a Tombstone Myers corners you, you've lost. You're dead. Jumping into a locker is only a viable counter play when there's still Survivors around to save you, as it delays your own death and thus buys your team more time to finish generators. Seems to me that stubborn has been met with stubborn in this case, Myers wanted his achievement and you didn't want to die to Tombstone. Sometimes that's just how it is, but you could've moved on to the next one at any point, you've already lost the game anyway.
-
Eh, I don't mind it. Means Survivors aren't on gens. Plus, it's easy to underestimate just how many people might be using it to get the "Stun Killer" tome challenges out of the way.
-
There was a madlad here that claimed to have lost 150 games in a row as a Killer on purpose without ever seeing any difference, so who knows.

So many crybabies lol. It’s just a game, getting clicky-clicky spam, t-bags and hook camping don’t matter. Growing up in late 90’s -mid 00’s online gaming, this is a nice community.
Everyone just wants their safe space everyone hugs it out games. This game is FAR from toxic, and if you think it is, don’t use the internet, your feelings might get hurt.
Wait, are you using "growing up in the late 90s and 00s" as some sort of an argument? As opposed to what? Being 10 years old because you grew up around 2010s?

It's not an exploit, if it's that easy to do.

I've asked a similar question in the past, and the answer is nothing. There's nothing that can be done. And even if there was something that could be done, we'd never actually get to see it, given how long it took to create the current system which is just a binary yes or no on escapes.
The core issue is that once you reach a certain skill level, it is no longer beneficial for either side to play in such a way that allows player skill to come into play, rather it is much more beneficial to ensure as little skill as possible is allowed to enter the equation. At some point, it is easier to secure kills by simply camping and at some point, looping and mind games are no longer a good tactic, because Survivors can just drop all the pallets with the knowledge that by the time Killer is done chewing through them, the exit gates will be open.
I think a more refined version of the old system would work best, honestly. Maybe add more ranks, change some values, but Kills and Escapes are not a good, nor fun, ways to measure player skill. Though I've absolutely no hope left, not after what the Lead Game Developer has said about the current system. I'm genuinely still mad at that.
