Why directional sound and not just general sound regardless of TR on Spirit? Any mod/dev feedback?

I get how people complain about the mind game of her just standing still, yes that needed to change. But to put a directional sound that may include footprints on spirit feels like a bit too large of a change considering devs don't buff killers in the same way. (A huge change to their powers completely)

Why not just make it so survivors can hear her use her power regardless of if you are in her terror radius or not? Or was her "Problem" not just that specific mind game but her being in the power role in chase as a whole? If the latter, there were so many better, less extreme options to take, like looking at her scratch mark mechanics or blood spatters.

  • It was so that you could tell where she was. Directional audio does that better...

The footstep dust is not coming. I wouldn't worry about that.

  • Because we're currently in the middle of this strange balancing trend where Survivors are given more power over the chase, and the chase itself is being balanced more and more as though the game was a 1v1. That's not to say Killers should dictate the pace of every single chase and that Survivors should be utterly helpless, however we've yet to see good changes that affect the actual 1v4 following any of these nerfs. Deathslinger is a beautiful example of this.
