How Do You Lower Your MMR?

Because it feels like even when you don't play well as Killer, lose, or bullied - you still are gaining MMR and it's absolutely ruining the game.

  • Well, what you do, this part is the difficult part, by the way... You spare the survivors.

  • Die as survivor or kill nobody as killer

Killing even 1 survivor can still give you MMR depending on some factors

Now, I'm not encouraging anyone to game the system but you could just go for as many hooks as possible which usually won't net you kills. So you could do that or you could just play for BP and not protect generators/run slowdown.

  • New meta incoming.

Survivors trying to get hooked and killed from the start and killers evading them and forcing them out of the gates

That is low mmr in a nutshell, actually.

  • Addonless m2 only Legion

  • Just go for hooks and don’t kill anyone. As survivor just do everything but don’t escape

  • The best way to lower your MMR is to take off the meta perks, drop the best addons, don't tunnel or camp and play for fun not kills.

The best way to raise your MMR is probably the opposite.

Do the unthinkable: Go for equal hook states on everybody.

If you hook every survivor twice and get to 8 hooks you will not gain any MMR but still many bloodpoints. Most survivor will appeciate this effort and like you gameplay as a "fair" Killer and you will not be blamed for the usual "tunneling", "camping" and so on. Most times everybody escapes and you can enjoy your guilt free MMR drop.

Add BBQ to the mixture for more bloodpoints and more reward. Bring fewer regression perks or no regression perks at all and maybe try some of those adepts if you are still performing too well. Try meme builds like pallet-Freddy or Agitation/Mad Grit Nemesis. Try themed builds like basement Bubba (Agitation, Iron Grasp, Monsterous Shrine, Territorial Imperative; note that you do NOT camp the basement!) or stuff like that.

Over all your performance will drop when you refrain from the meta strategies. However be careful that you will train your skill quit a bit by doing this and once you go back to the meta you will probably gain MMR pretty quickly. To avoid this just never return to Pop, Corrupt, Ruin, Tinkerer.

  • Only kills matter for MMR. Just don't kill anyone as killer and make sure you die as survivor.

As killer careful hooking the survivors since if they are matched with survivors that have gained mmr thanks to hiding in the corner the hooked survivor is probably going to die on first hook.

  • There was a madlad here that claimed to have lost 150 games in a row as a Killer on purpose without ever seeing any difference, so who knows.

  • Don't kill/don't escape.

  • Killer: dont kill anyone

    Survivor: die

    Play for fun.

  • Those are only my thoughts, but I have noticed I am getting strong survivors on my weak killers and weak survivors on my strong killers.

Why? Maybe because a strong chaser chased me for 5 gens and then get killed, while their 3 gen-rushing hold-m1 teammates escaped.

So, with the system that counts deaths and escapes, a solid chaser will get negative MMR and the gen-rushers, who don't last in the chase for too long would be pushed up the leader. When I am playing Bubba, Demo, Pinhead, Blight, Doctor and mostly Billy (but on Billy ) -- once the survivors are off the gen and can't hold M1 -- they don't know what to do. They are optimized to do gens well.

On the other hand, when I am playing Plague, Trapper, Oni, Mookel Myers (with regular addons), killers I play not as often, I am getting ou-chased almost every match.

So, losing will lower MMR, but does not guarantee you get EZ survivors next match

  • Play without hooks, leave it to survivor altruism to prevent teammates from dying. Let's you focus more on chases and cuts down on how many perks they can use in a meta loadout.

Also can Bring something like rancor and mori a random survivor while the other 3 escape to offset the points against you.
