The new matchmaking system, together with the recent changes and the existence of boon totems puts Killers that play nicely at an extreme disadvantage, while at the same time Survivors are discouraged from altruistic plays as their performance only matters if they do escape. It's bad design choices on top of bad design choices, there's no incentive to play any other way for either side, sadly. Personally, I've reached the point where I just let myself die and go play the next game, if the Killer is playing as though his life depended on it and as a Killer, I gladly open the gates for Survivors who want to be out in 3 minutes. It is what it is, but I refuse to become what I dislike myself or worse, play in a way that secures me a victory at the cost of personal joy.
-
You can't even play Killer without upsetting Survivors, so there's that.
-
Not gonna lie, if I bought the game today and I saw the anime looking Crescendo intro I don't think I'd ever be willing to get into the game, because I'd be confused as to what the direction here is.

Same can be said about your smartass response.
And yours. Crazy how that be.

Thank you for letting us know, we've all been eagerly waiting to hear from you.

Yes, but don't let that stop you.

DPI flicks need to go but hug tech and abusing the dev's collision failures is fine. It is the same with Oni, that 180 you can only do on pc is a legitimate removal of counterplay.
I opened this thread to basically write the exact same thing. Take DPI bs away, keep the rest. All the little techs are what defines Blight.

Gregg's.

Because that's just what certain communities have been doing for an eternity. I think it's peak cringe, especially from adults, but if it makes someone's day better then who's to judge.

I'll add that this is also definitely a Doctor issue. He's such a strange Killer when it comes to performance, I find. Against newer players he's an absolute god, but an experienced Survivor will simply deny you your power without ever needing to worry about any of the afflictions. The slowdown, together with the strange timing that doesn't work half the time due to ping makes his shock incredibly unreliable most of the time.

Solo survivors too. I'm a new player and I main Killer and I feel underpowered and boring.
That might be due to the fact you are a new player. SoloQ is not the problem.
-
My biggest issue is that it just genuinely isn't viable to split pressure in the current Boon/Medkit meta. Majority of the time, you have to commit to a chase, because otherwise you're being far too inefficient with your time.

As long as they make the totem harder to locate (sound) AND take longer to destroy, then I'll be fine with it.
Yeah. I can get behind that, though I don't think it should be anywhere as difficult/long as it is for Survivors, given the fact Killer's time has a different value.
-
I think they'll make it so that when a Killer kicks a boon, the totem breaks. Which is reasonable, if you ask me.
-
Twitter moment.
-
They released a generic, quirky etsy girl and allowed people to kick pumpkins, afraid that's all it takes for all issues to go away.
-
I've not heard of a single Killer main that would desire high MMR, outside of testing its limit and the imbalance it brings.
-
Thanks Sluzzy, very cool.

it will be a joint project with turtle rock studios :p
Imagine that thing with a zero terror radius and a screeching lunge bordering the Nemesis' Tier 3 level up audio.

Whenever I see something like this put into DbD, with the Devs stating this is merely a placeholder, I'm always reminded of that Russian proverb that goes: "There is nothing more permanent than a temporary solution."
This is the Killer experience now. In a game that's been out for years. Pathetic.
-
I love this about the DbD community, honestly I do.

Damn bro, leave some maturity for the rest of us.

Bruh, if I slap someone with Dead Hard and the hit gets refunded we might have a little situation.

Okay, a few things.
- This isn't an MMR issue. Killers do this at all MMR levels. I know that, unless you've been a bastard to me, I'll usually let people unhook as it's more BP for both of us.
- That said, MMR seems totally busted as of yesterday. I'm getting tons of fully stacked 2000+ hour PC SWF groups rocking meta perks and fancy addons, so I can only infer that lower MMR survivors are getting inappropriate killers. I'm taking a break until the first bugfix patch, to see if things even out again.
- These sorts of achievements (I'm guessing it's an Adept) are very difficult, by design. Just be glad you aren't playing killer though - it's infinitely worse. At least you can luck into an Adept on survivors...
I must agree that I do feel like something is off as well. Every game seems to have two really, really weak links and two incredibly good players with the Killers being seemingly random in terms of skill. And this has been rather consistent, to the point where as a Killer I've been able to call those two players out with ease. I ignored it as me trying to find a pattern in a system too flawed to have any, but it's interesting to hear more people feel that something's wrong.
-
Thank you Sluzzy, very cool.

I have taken a screenshot of this thread and made it into an NFT, please do not take or download any pictures present. Thank you for your cooperation.

Got a feeling it's a bug, because Devs didn't think that far.

I can assure you that between all the blights i vsed he is nowhere near there.
Surely he is not a bad blight but there are far more scary players. Playing with ring 24/7 didn't let him improve much
Thank you for your input Freddy96, but the truth has been spoken.

You only forgot to say deathslinger cant quickscope anymore and that what made him strong in my opinion
That was the only thing he had going for him. Sure, the low Terror Radius helped, but it wasn't what actually made him viable to some degree.
-
He's genuinely frustrating to play, in a sluggish, cumbersome sort of a way. And it blows my mind that in the same update, they've removed that feeling from Plague and thus made her so, so much more enjoyable to play. None of the buffs given to Deathslinger matter, if he doesn't feel fluid to play. And don't get me wrong, I understand the argument of him not being able to play against before, but that's a design issue more so than anything. You have a Killer that needs to deadlift his extremely heavy gun, land a shot, pull you, hit you, clean his gun, reload, catch up, shoot you and drag you to him again and then carry you to a hook, all with a beautiful 110% speed and 32 terror radius, he's done.

Good taste in nicknames, my dude.

Happened to me just now. Was loading into a match as a Survivor, offerings appeared as usually and then I got hit with an infinite loading screen. SoloQ, Cross Platform was On and I play through Steam.
It might be worth noting that this is the first time this has happened and I played a decent amount of games in the last two days without any issue at all.

Huntress, if only for the fact that there's far, far more room for improvement and better plays.

Are you on a console? If so, not really from what I have heard from the officially unofficial spokesman of "I can't believe it's still stuttering" @Pulsar.
-
Could you update us when you find out what's wrong? There's been forum posts about fried routers, but this is a new one.
-
There's nothing to adjust to, nor is there a reason to play him over any of the other ranged Killers. What baffles me the most is that in a single update, they've made such an amazing change to Plague and as a result, they've made her much less clunky to play, but somehow they thought giving that same unresponsive feel to Deathslinger was cool.
-
They won't even take a few months off releasing content to ensure their game is playable, there's no way they'd consider this.

If you have an imperfect skill based matchmaking system, you will always get two things. Elo hell and people who pretend Elo hell does not exist. These are guaranteed.
Don't forget people that claim to "deserve" to be high MMR, but for some darn reason they never seem to make it. Naturally, it's all due to their teammates. Those are my favourite.

We're getting our own "elo hell" posts now. Never thought I'd see the day.

I respect Orion's dedication to derailing any and every thread by arguing utter semantics. And I'm not even joking, I once witnessed a 20 post exchange over the definition of a word that eludes me right now in a thread discussing an entirely different topic. Legendary.
