Correct. The same way it would happen if people DC'D. Might aswell get those points you can, instead of also DC-Ing and losing a pip. While i can understand that, yes, having half the team suicide isn't fun, for either party (killer or survivor) there isn't much to do anyway, doesn't matter if they DC'D or suicided, in the end it leaves you in the same bad spot anyway. A penalty is meant to discourage players from ragequitting in the first place, not penalize those players left in a game because a bunch of players decided to suicide. I get your point though.

What I'm saying is if there was no penalty the last survivors might just quit, or I could quit. Anything other than being forced to go another few minutes. At that point you're just going through the motions to end it.

Really? I usually enjoy Coldwind maps a lot more than others, my favourites being MacMillan, Coldwind and Autohaven (basically almost base killer map), but I find that interesting

The corn sucks. It's my one weakness in the game. Hear chase music but see no survivor. Spend most of the time squinting trying to make out the little Claudette urban evading around in there.

Torment creek wouldn't be as bad if not for the god window, but the others just have too much corn.

  • @dizbruhlikesthering said:

If they were suiciding on the first hook anyway, they most likely were planning on dc-ing but didn't because of the penalty. So how would a DC right of the bat have been any better? For me, i think thats a great improvement. Atleast now people need to get on the hook and therefore waste time, and also the killer gets more points. Win-Win in my eyes.

It just results in 3 players (killer and last 2 survivors) being forced to go through the motions to end the game.

  • @Carpemortum said:

"They play something else for a bit".

Good. We dont want DC-ers here.

Those than suicides on hook, would have DCd, so it didnt make anything worse.

If anything, these rants make people look like they're upset that they cant DC without consequences anymore.

    🤷‍♀️

    Grow up.

2 survivors gave up instantly. Does it matter if it's a disconnect or a suicide? either way they've thrown the game in an instant.

I would have preferred the last 2 to disconnect than for me to have to walk around the map picking off 2 players who stand no chance. It felt like a chore. I couldn't be bothered waiting for them to do gens, but felt bad since they were the ones who got screwed the hardest. I'd rather they or myself just quit and get it over with.

  • It's ok. I'm sure the penalties will be amended or reverted once it hurts their bottom line. All this penalty system has done is bring all the issues in the game to the forefront. Bugs, crashes, server issues, balance issues, unfun items/offerings/add ons.

It's almost like the disconnects were a symptom of a larger issue.

  • Its an awkward map but as killer I’d still take it over a coldwind map.

  • @Primalux135 said:

People keep dcing anyway but yeah no more hatch tech now

    Well there's a surprise.

People keep disconnecting, and the solo players are the ones that suffer being stuck in a 2 vs 1 vs a slugging killer.

    Totally survivor sided developers though!!

Wraith with speed addons, actually. :)

But yeah, hooked two other people, must be tunneling. You can always tell when someone is new to DBD when they say things like this.

    "Billy OP"

    "NOED OP"

    "DS = balanced!"

And you wonder why people take nothing you say seriously. Stop baiting and have a serious conversation, bud. You've never won a debate here, and you never will with that one-sided, baity attitude.

lol take a look at yourself. Just gloating, spamming smileys and saying you've won the argument doesn't make it so.

Killer with unlimited sprint and instadowns = balanced, endgame speed boost and unlimited instadowns = balanced, 5 second stun = BROKEN PLZ NERF!

Also survivors op and game almost impossible with ruin amiright?

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091168#Comment_1091168

So if I hook 2 other people..and go to a gen and find the person who was hooked ages ago, and they still have DS...that's my fault?

    Broken logic.

"If you're getting owned by Billy so much, stop letting him down you hurdur"

So you're downing 2 survivors and hooking them then walking halfway to the map chasing and downing another survivor and they still have DS?

    Stop using Hillbilly 😉

  • @McLightning said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091134#Comment_1091134

Coming from someone who thinks NOED is OP, and DS is balanced....well, it's just a bit comical, is all. I mean, if you want to talk about what does and doesn't make sense...

Most killers would be fine if DS was strictly for anti tunnel. Most killers who are hit with DS, and I wouldn't expect you to know this cause of your lack of experience (which can be observed from your post history), are hit with it when they aren't tunneling. They've already hooked someone else, or the survivor is forcing them to hit them instead of someone else.

It should be conditional. I would have no issues with being punished for tunneling, but the fact that I can hook someone, hook someone else, find a person, down them, and pick them up just to see they still have DS...like, wait, I tunneled? Get real.

If you're getting hit with DS often then you need to look at how you play. It's very rare for me to be hit with it.

ye thats why it has no trigger condition, you can jump in a locker and be invincible for a minute, i can chase down and hook someone else, come back and still get ds'd cause that obviously just tunneling amiright?

I see the whole point went way over your head.

Either figure out what's wrong with your computer and fix it, or find another game to play.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091123#Comment_1091123

DC and just accept the extra minute for the ban if it upsets you that bad, or play one of the other games that doesn't have this as a potential outcome.

So basically "let me be toxic and get away with it"

Killers can keep making survivors bleed out "for the lulz" but don't cry when something comes along that changes that.

  • @Slamadam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091113#Comment_1091113

survivor "if you need ruin you have to get good"

also survivor -> runs ds unbreakable dh every game.

That makes no sense. What a ridiculous comparison. Ruin and DS/Unbreakable are completely unrelated.

Rampant tunneling is why DS was made like this. Rampant slugging is why unbreakable came along. Just like how survivors abusing infinites got them removed, abusing window vaults got them changed, swf abusing instaheals got them nerfed.

If something becomes common in the game and it affects the enjoyment of the game for a lot of people then a solution will come along.

DS exists the way it does because all the noob killers tunnel everyone to death.

  • @Slamadam said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091050#Comment_1091050

you gotta be pretty pathetic to complain about not beeing allowed to ragequit when getting slugged tbh.

Not really. Most other online games don't allow you to force the other players to sit there held hostage for 4 minutes.

  • Killers "yeah I tunnel"

Also killers "Why is DS so strong??!"

  • You’d just get coldwind all the time as killer

  • No. DS makes it pointless as you lose all pressure but it was never good before that anyway. Tunnel one and ignore 3 others and you get genrushed. Tunneling only works at low ranks.

The add-ons were nerfed to a point where using them on their own is useless. If we only focus on total slowdown and not individual slowdown they will get nerfed even further. The reason I am pointing out the yellow rope specifically is because it's so weak on its own that using it is ridiculous.

We are focused on Forever Freddy as a whole and not his parts. I agree entirely that using all slowdown perks and add-ons at once is strong, but what if you are not trying to play FF? That's why I'm putting so much emphasis on the 2%.

As you say the yellow add on is useless, thats why its always the green and purple run together.

  • @Peanits It happens if you try to do a sharp turn. For example survivor is looping the car in front of the school in haddonfield. You stand at the short side with the concrete blocks. As you swing you turn inwards, it's that which throws off the "aim dressing". Same when the survivor does a sharp turn. Hits which require a fast turn are the times when it seems to struggle to register it correctly.

Anything helps. Videos allow us to deal with it much faster, but even just an in-game report will do.

You've said multiple times video evidence is required.

    @Ryuti said:

    Hello, people of the fog!

When reporting a player, many offences require video evidence to help us investigate your report. Below is a list of bannable offences which may require video evidence:

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
    • Holding the game hostage
    • Botting
    • Lag switching
    • Exploit bugs, errors in design, or undocumented features to gain access to what otherwise would not be available or to obtain a competitive advantage

    HOW TO RECORD YOUR MATCH:

    XBOX:

    • Press the XBOX  button to open the guide.
    • Press the VIEW button, and then select "Record from now" . Depending on your clip's resolution, you can record anywhere from 10 minutes with internal storage and up to 1 hour with external storage.
    • To end the clip, open the guide and press the X button . You'll get a notification when it's been saved.

    PS4:

    • Press the "Share" Button on your controller to begin recording gameplay.
    • When you've recorded your match, save your clip, and trim as needed.
    • After that you can upload the video directly to your linked YouTube account.
    • Length, quality and etc. can be changed depending on your console settings for Video sharing

    PC:

    • For players using an NVIDIA graphics card, you can enable Shadowplay which will automatically record any gameplay while running in the background.
    • To use Shadowplay ensure you have the GeForce Experience program installed.
    • Open the in-game overlay settings found in the top right corner. From there, you can turn on "Instant Replay" and adjust settings such as clip length, quality, and audio levels.
    • Alternatively, you can use OBS to manually record the incidents.

INFORMATION THAT WILL AID US IN REVIEWING CASES:

Opening your escape menu and viewing the match details tab.

This will allow us to see all of the Survivor characters in the match and usernames of who is playing them.

Visiting the tally menu once a match has ended.

This will allow us to examine player loadouts including perks, items and offerings.

    UPLOADING YOUR EVIDENCE

Due to the small file size limit on ZenDesk, we suggest uploading your evidence to YouTube and "Unlisting" it. This will prevent anyone without the link from seeing it, and will allow you to upload without needing to compress the quality to meet the size limit.

    For XBOX players,

    • Open the Youtube App, and sign in.
    • Navigate to the Upload tab. You may need to turn on "Enable Sharing on Social Networks" for your clips to be visible.
    • Select your recorded match
    • Enter a title and then select upload.

    For PC players

    • If you wish to cut down your clip, you can do so in the editing software of your choice. Otherwise you can upload the raw footage straight to youtube by navigating to your shadowplay recording folder.

Please keep in mind that even with video evidence, an in-game report is still required.

Screenshots are not considered valid evidence.

If the video sent does not follow our criteria or the quality of the video is low, it is possible that nothing will be done against the player reported.

That post still says video evidence may be required?

  • The biggest surprise was seeing Peanits for the first time and him looking completely different to what I imagined. Had him down as more of a viking like his old profile pic.

  • No it's 4% for green and 8% for swing chains totaling 12%. The fact you're only using the yellow add ons shows you're being disingenuous.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Forever Freddy doesn't exist anymore? You're telling me he CAN'T run corrupt, pop, sloppy and thrilling tremors with swing chains and jump rope and not slow the game to a crawl? Those add-ons and perk combos exist, so forever Freddy exists. It's still the same boring-ass playstyle we all know and love and it still drags out matches far longer than it should.

No man they took 9% off of it.....that totally means you can’t use that name anymore!!!!

  • Agreed.

What was most disappointing was how they seemed surprised by this on stream. It’s not as if people have been complaining about this since last year or anything...

You definitely feel the “aim dressing” pull you towards objects. How could they be so oblivious?

  • @johnmwarner said:

Right!!! Every change causes at least one bug, before releasing anything else... and I mean anything no killers, survivors, maps, cosmetics. No perk updates. Just rework your coding so it actually WORKS for once.

Fixing bugs doesn’t bring in the $$$ though.

The CEO needs a new yacht. He can’t buy that with goodwill from players.

  • @EverflowingRiver said:

This is what happens when survivors DCed at everything they didn't like. It sucks but decisions have consequences.

    True.

and thats why if killers keep slugging to force survivors to disconnect or sit there with nothing to do for 4 minutes there will be consequences.

Everyone already complains about unbreakable, why do you think it got buffed recently rather than nerfed?

If people want to play toxic and it affects the playerbase then expect there to be consequences.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

IF you get slugged you recover till you just need a tap to get back up. Like I've never had slugging be an issue there is still a good chance you will recover. Hell if you have good team work it costs them the entire match. If you mean at the end of the game, then you can just afk till you bleed out like you CAN afk for that you don't have to like sit there and watch him tea bag you as ghost face or something if you don't want to.

Also someone following you around all game waiting for rancor that's not even an issue. The only folks doing that are just trying to get that challenge so that won't really even be a thing for long, and there is so much gameplay things you can do about that, it's not like some 100% inescapable thing. If it was everyone would run rancor all the time.

But my point is the toxic killers slug all remaining survivors and leave them to bleed out. Theres no recovering because theres nobody to pick you up.

Hence why they are toxic killers. Its incredibly boring for survivors. Survivors can not do anything.

Meanwhile as killer Survivors can never put you in that kind of position.

  • I like how everyone is telling the player what to do....rather than holding the developers accountable for bugs that have gone untreated for months/years.

What do they even do with all that money the game is making? It sure as hell isn’t going towards any kind of quality control.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1090321#Comment_1090321

If the KILLER is being toxic the survivors can just die on hook and go to a new game unless in SWF. If survivors are being toxic a killer HAS to be in that match for it's entire duration. So do SWF basically whenever things like Mori's and camping/tunneling awful killers are around.

The point is solo survivor's have an escape option from that match no one else does. It's a little unfair but it isn't like some tremendous issue or anything.

But the truly toxic killers are the ones that slug and leave people to bleed out. Or just follow someone around all game waiting for Rancor.

    Those killers never hook.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1090287#Comment_1090287

Yeah but that is just a few minutes, and you can afk and not be punished in that instance. It's not for the entire matches duration.

Camping doesn't work unless you are bubba really, maybe if you have a basement hook but honestly camping is not all that powerful anyways- and again they can just die on hook and immediately go into a new game if they don't want to be there. No punishment, no real consequence, keep their bloodpoints up to that point too.

Killer does have more potential to troll a game though I agree, if they like tunnel as pig or bubba face camp or whatever, but the whole overall point is they have a quick, easy, nonpunishable way out still and can just go get another game- they don't have to sit there and take it for like 10-15 minutes.

The killer isn’t punished. I thought we were talking about toxic survivors? The kind who run OoO as a swf and tbag at every pallet?

I dont think they would give up on hook. If they did then congrats that’s one survivor down. If they troll and troll then just kill them.

The worse they can do is genrush. If they aren’t doing the gens they’re going to die.

So you can just camp one and ngaf because at that point you’re ruing the game for them.

I'm curious, what gamebreaking bug that forces you to quit is currently in the game?

There is the stuck healing bug.

Bugs like that are rare I admit but it’s the attitude towards the entire situation that has people pissed off.

Last time they tried the dc penalty that healing bug was in the hame. Even EGC doesn’t end the game so it literally causes a disconnect standoff between the killer and the survivor.

Months on and they’ve tinkered with the disconnect penalty yet that bug still remains. You see why people are unhappy?

DBD is a technical mess. If people had faith that new updates would be issue free and bugs were fixed in good time then nobody would have an issue. However there are bugs that have been in the game for so long, every update seems to get worse. Last time we had a new killer within hours almost everyone was experiencing the basement void bug which literally was a gamebreaking bug. Not to mention killers were getting stuck in pallets/gens. I remember when I would often get stuck in trees for months before it was fixed. Lets not forget killers that used to bodyblock survivors holding the hame hostage, or people abusing bugs like infinite mending legion. If someone wants to disconnect now THEY get punished rather than the person exploiting.

The infinite load screen was my biggest concern. Apparently that one wont count as a disconnect but there are conflicting reports from players.

Server issues DO count as a disconnect though. It’s a 5 minute penalty for no fault of your own.

People have called for “operation health” of this game and yet it falls on deaf ears. Everytime theres a bug Peanits or whoever will simply reply “we’re aware of it”.

Comparing DBD to games with other penalties is ridiculous because those games don’t have the wealth of problems that DBD has.

If they are going to be punishing people for the problems with the games then its time the devs were held accountable for the state the game is in.

I won’t even bother playing once the update is out until I know its safe because I can’t be bothered being told I need a timeout because I quit after I got stuck in the scenery or something.

Legion has always been weak, with fmt and sws she was very strong in 1v1 and that's about it.

Very easy to beat and genrush.

As for the new killer, it will be something unremarkable like all the ones after Legion, also it will be nerfed quite quickly

    Unremarkable?

Freddy rework, Ghostface, Demo, Oni, Doctor rework

These are far more versatile and stronger than the killers of yesteryear which could barely cancel loops or had no mobility.

  • @gatsby said:

Be careful what you wish for. Legion was S Tier at launch, but they got nerfed super hard because of that. Having a strong killer for a few months only for them to get trashed isn't ideal

Lol Legion was never A tier let alone s tier.

He could cheese a survivor but it still took time. Not to mention he was 110% speed.

  • It punishes survivors far worse. Survivors can be slugged and left to bleed out with nothing else to do but wait for 4 minutes.

As killer they’ll just genrush. If they dont do gens then you can just camp a toxic team. As killer you always have the option to ruin the game for them far more than survivors can ruin the game for you.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088297#Comment_1088297

What if I said survivor objective, all the pallets and loops is too powerful for how EZ they are?

There's a very bad balance problem if most Spirits and Nurses are having camp and tunnel to get kills. They require a lot more effort and determination when compared to survivors. Giving really good survivors 12 chances to live is not a walk in the park..

I said this after Nurse was nerfed: survivors can have a party on discord, laugh, little focus on the objective, whilst the Nurse is sweating and playing like navy seals with her cooldown and still lose. That's not even remotely fair.

Billy don't need to be touched, not even his addons. Keep him fun.

Even the Billy defenders say his add ons are busted.

  • @underlord99 said:

because when the game starts it says a player has disconnected .

But thats the point. The game can’t tell why someone quit, it just knows that a player is missing.

Unless you used a mori, black ward or sometimes a map offering like the game or hawkins for example survivors would have no reason to disconnect. It’s likely one of them got the infinite load screen.

  • @Cable2486 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088393#Comment_1088393

Yup. Because at some point, everyone that's constantly whining about it will quit or realize it's a viable, if annoying, play-style that prioritizes taking out the weakened, easier to kill prey, like any intelligent hunter would.

Much better than adhering to some silly, Survivor-made notion that letting an injured, unhooked Survivor run away in favor of going after a healthy Survivor, instead is the smart choice.

Yeah thats exactly what tunnelers are. “Intelligent hunters”.

Even though most are bad at the game and rely on NOED to mop up the remaining survivors.

The entire point of the videos were missed. They were to show what they do. It's like Clown. Do you need 5000 hours to throw a pallet early to counter his power? No. It's the same with Billy. The videos showed what you do verse him. You don't need 1000's of hours to learn distances, and when or when not to throw pallets. Also, Ardetha isn't that great of a survivor.

You can theoretically loop most killers for 5 gens. Somehow doesn’t happen though and killers do just fine.

Survivors make mistakes. You’re literally expecting them to play perfect

  • @Cable2486 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1087405#Comment_1087405

Absolutely agree here. Too many times have I had a looper get to third down/hook and DC because they were going to die and threw a fit. Likewise, I've had too many games where the looper dies, and one or more players DC because they don't have a distraction to keep them protected while trying to gen rush. Same with games that I was able to stop the rush early and hook a Survivor fast.

That, and I absolutely LOVE that it punishes," You tunneled me, so I'm DCing to deny you a kill." Types, of which there are FAR too many.

So now you can tunnel to your hearts content.

I’m sure that won’t affect the health of the community at all.

  • I agree. The penalties have brought the games technical problems into the spotlight. Everyone could ignore it before because you just restarted but if people are going to be punished then the game needs fixing.

Of course they won’t though. It doesn’t result in quick $$$.

Expect a new batch of bugs next month when the new update is out.

  • How do you know they’re disconnecting?

Unless you’re using a mori or map offering, something which would cause them to disconnect then it’s very likely the infinite load screen.

This. I don’t get why people are in such a rush to pick survivors up.

I’m not even normally near the hook when someone is unhooked. If I am then I go for the rescuer since the unhooked person will normally have DS/BT. That way I get to avoid both perks.

If I only see the unhooked survivor then its a simple slug.

How do you know they are average?

You want the same thing done to billy as was done to nurse don't you?

I’ve played thousands of games. Most Hillbillys will always snowball hard, even if they aren’t even that good at the game. Unless you have 4 good survivors who know how to loop expect a mediocre Hillbilly player to wreck the team.

Meanwhile your average spirit or nurse tends to struggle and only gets kills with the classic camp, tunnel and NOED strategies. They resort to this because they struggle to use these killers.

Which goes back to the original point - Hillbilly is too strong for how easy he is to use.

Omfg you are so full of it, you make baseless accusations because you are terrible at the game. You cry about billy because you can not loop. What is this garbage claim about average billy needs to meet good survivors? That is not true at all.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DggcHI1boFM

Here again just for you, the longest chase was 25seconds, these survivors were all potatoes and went down like flies because they are terrible at the game just like you. They almost won, while playing horribly bad and the only thing they are able to do is holding m1.

Otz is by far better than any of these players. So your whole bs claim that you need good survivors in order to win against billy is wrong. They are bad and almost won against a person that plays this game for a living. Stop with your lies, stop with your baseless accusations and asks people how to play instead of asking for balance changes.

Yes NOED on billy, give me a break and actually git gud you rank 15.

You say they’re bad but 2 are rank 1. Chases are short because instasaw.

So you get a genrush team with 2 good toolboxes with add ons, a bad map for Hillbilly, ######### perks....and Hillbilly still wins. Hmm thanks for proving my point.

Otz played horribly that game too. He complains about survivors trying to rush a gen in front of him then goes on to let a survivor lead him away from the gen he’s trying to protect knowing full well they have DS and he will get nothing out of it.

They still had another gen to do, and he could have had NOED still in reserve because I would bet money they didn’t do all the totems.

  • I started her recently because I like the character and the power. Ancient Babylonian priestess or whatever she is. (still salty her map got shoved into red forest). It's unique by DBD standards as is her power. Also I used to struggle with her so I wanted to "git gud" and learn how to play her.

I didn't think she was too hated. That all seems directed at Legion (and rightfully so). I never found Plague too bothersome personally.

Not too much nerf. That build is still viable.

    (Forever Freddy main)

True. It's still a very dull build to play against.
